My fiancé and I got Gator BBQ for the first and only time at the trailer in Port Dover on Friday June 25th. There were no other customers and the staff was rude and reluctant to serve us. We asked how many ribs came with the chicken and rib and they said 5. One of us got 4 ribs, the other got 3. Our food was barely warm and certainly wasn't "award winning BBQ". I didn't want to complain online like this, so I called and left a message with the Simcoe store on Saturday morning. Adam returned my call shortly after, assured me "that is not Gator BBQ" and asked us to try it again free of charge to change our minds. I said we did not wish to return to the trailer, but we would really appreciate him doing that at the store in Simcoe. He said that was not a problem and to call him when we were ready. He was delightful. I called on July 30th and his number was not in service. I called the number I found online and was told that Adam was no longer with Gator by a man who simply didn't care to deal with it. We will not return.

I ordered a meal yesterday, for the first time. Not impressed. It says the meal comes with kaiser rolls. Mine came with 8 hamburger buns still in the Wonder bread bag. Legit hamburger buns. My pulled pork was covered in Diana's BBQ sauce. Not home made sauce. Nothing original about this meal.

I’ve eaten here a few times. Had ribs, chicken and pulled pork. Absolutely mouth watering food. Perfect place for super bowl or party food. Even if you want a delicious meal for yourself. Highly recommended.

This BBQ is amazing! We got the special with ribs and pulled pork and both were excellent! But honestly, the “cheesy taters” and the Mac and cheese stole the show for us. You get a ton of food for the price and we look forward to eating our leftovers for lunch tomorrow!

3 of us had lunch here and we were all really disappointed with our meals. Bread was old/hard and the meat was old/dry. Could have been an off day for them but I wouldn't recommend Gator BBQ.

The pulled pork is fantastic, portion was big and reasonably priced. The place looks like a tiny run down hole in the wall, in fact I've been driving by for years and never even noticed the place. Will definitely be back... Delicious.

Awesome place if you have a craving for smoked food! Highly recommended mega meal so you get to try everything. Brisket was so tender and moist. Ribs were fall of the bone. Sides are also really good. Corn bread and Mac n cheese were the bomb! Definitely will ride out there again! Owner was cool too!

*Serious food safety concern and customer service lacking* I dined at Gator's BBQ at the PNE Vancouver. Long story short, I received the wrong order and when I brought it back to the counter the Gator's staff member took back the order I returned, made us a new one, and then proceeded to give the other person the SAME order we had just returned. Once we left Gator's, I asked my partner if he saw what I saw and he confirmed that he did. Even more troubling was that it was during COVID and my partner and I had sampled the food before we realized it was the wrong order!! Also, the staff member who took the order back didn't even acknowledge me with words and the person at the Grill told me to make good life choices. Not sure what was intended by that... I reported this all to Gator's using their online feedback form. The person said they did an investigation and spoke to staff but didn't find anything supporting or refuting what I saw and that they re-addressed our no return policy with each staff member (which I thanked them for). I know what I saw and I will not be going back to Gator's. I have no reason to make this up and this is the first negative review of an establishment that I have written. After some back and forth emails, the person I provided the feedback to asked how she can make it right for me. I then used their opening to ask for a refund of my meal, which I thought was reasonable considering I was displeased with my experience. I was then told no refund because I did receive my correct order and if I was concerned I should have asked for a refund before leaving their establishment. Seriously?! Why ask me how to make it right then. You've lost a customer. It will be Prairie's BBQ for me from now on.

I ordered the gator tators for my wedding on July 7th of this year and they used to be delicious, I don't know if it's because of the new management or what , but they were hard , cold and gross. I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with them. Which is unfortunate because they used to be kinda mashed and smothered in the gator sauce and lots of butter but not any more . Really was upsetting to be let down.

Overall food was good and the portions were generous, the chicken we really liked, the side ribs were a bit tough but had but great flavor. We got the gator taters which were awesome! and the mac and cheese was spot on. Definitely a go to BBQ joint in the area. Only real issue was with the buns, we ordered the Kaiser rolls and we got a regular hot dog bun cut up into 4 tiny pieces....... so that was disappointing, I've seen this topic come up in a handful of reviews and also through friends. Glad we didn't order the pulled pork as we would have expected the buns to be adequate to make pulled pork sandwiches. If I could make a recommendation it would be to use thick cut Texas toast like they do at many places in the south instead of tiny hot dog or hamburger buns, it would compliment the meal a lot better! it would also be helpful to have some pictures and descriptions of the items they have available especially when ordering online. Looking forward to trying the brisket and pulled pork next. Overall a solid place for some BBQ.

If you like stick to the bone ribs that are bland and have virtually no sauce on them then this is the place for you. If you prefer fall of the bone flavourful and saucy ribs then stay clear of this place. I didn't even finish them they were that bad. First time in my life I didn't finish my ribs.

This place made our night a much better when we just wanted dinner after coming home to burst pipes in the kitchen. Grabbed the 'lil bit of everything meal' $54.99 and a bottle of their specialty sauce $6 to take to the Maple Leaf Motel in Delhi to eat our feelings. I enjoyed their flavourful and FILLING cabbage rolls, shared creamy bacon nice crutons caesar salad ($2 upgrade), a couple of rack ribs, ate all the cheesy AF mac & cheese...have yet to try the pulled pork & 1/2 chicken. Shared with my BF and we have leftovers. Will be having again. I think we'll just go for the regular taters but if you like em REALLY cheesy, like in a creamy mac n cheese sauce. Do.it. Would give one more star if they had seating.

Absolutely the best mac’n’cheese I’ve ever had. We stopped at their little shop on a side street in Simcoe and had such fun chatting with the owner and enjoying a free sample of their delicious soup. The cheesy potatoes were also a new personal favorite. Their meats win awards but don’t overlook their side dishes! These guys clearly just love food. Highly, highly recommend!!!

We have been to Gator BBQ because we wanted to have a pulled pork sandwich for lunch during our test drive with the new MB A Class. The owner of Gator BBQ was talking with us and showed us his smoker grill and gave use some examples of his beef brisket and some pulled pork out of his smoker. Such a great experience and I have to say, thank you so much. If I will ever be around here again - I will visit Gator BBQ again.

We ordered the premium package that included beef brisket, spare ribs, a whole chicken, and 1 lb of pulled pork as well as five sides and some cornbread. It was all very delicious definitely enough for four to six people. Will definitely be going back!!

Good bbq place. They don't have much in the way of dine in but for take out bbq it is the place to go in simcoe. The portions are large and fairly good tasting. The last visit the meat was a little dry. It usually is good and flavourfull. The prices are reasonable and fair. Should be the first choice for bbq in simcoe.

A great selection of BBQ treats I have now tried almost everything on the menu at some point. I will say my top 3 faves are the BBQ brisket, The Cornbread Muffin and most surprising is the pulled pork sandwich with fried onions and BBQ sauce on the hero sub bun.

We used gator for our rehearsal dinner as well as dish ware rental. We hired a 5 star chef out of Toronto for our wedding dinner. Unfortunately gator can not compare to that level of food, no hard feelings. My husband and I (newly weds) got a call from our venue 2 days after the wedding which was in gators area, hense why we went with gator “why haven’t you picked up your dishes”. My husband and I were in absolute shock. Prior to paying gator the agreement was for gator to drop off clean dishes and gator picks them up dirty. As a newly wed couple we had to drive down to our wedding venue and load my husbands truck with dirty dishes and drop them off to gators establishment (major job). Gators representative’s defence was “sorry we didn’t cater your wedding and all our trucks are on the road”...apparently they sent us an email 24 hours to our wedding notifying us of this. Unprofessional is an understatement. Not to mention what newly wed couples rarely have time for this (unless they budget it) we hired gator months prior to the occasion. Would never recommend this establishment to anyone. AWFUL.
