We were browsing the busy street of Wellington for a restaurant and we passed by a few where the menu looked okay. When we passed by Auguste, they seemed packed and busy during their 5-7. However the server still greeted us and informed us that there’s a “quickie” 5-7 menu that’s cheaper but we just have to finish eating before 7. We were delighted to hear about this cheaper options so we stayed. The food did not disappoint.

This is a gem of a restaurant in the heart of Sherbrooke! My boyfriend and I had pretty much given up on a good dining experience in this city having come from Montreal and worked in restaurants most of our lives, but then I saw the reviews to Auguste and was thrilled and hopeful. I was not disappointed. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was great. The service was attentive without being overbearing. And the main dish was fantastic!!! I'm very much looking forward to going back again!!

Very, very, very good Risotto. We went with a large group, service was mostly good, but we were still there by closing so they were naturally less enthusiastic after that. Brought us some extra treats while we waited for the main course. Quite expensive, but the food was that good. Most folks got steaks and thought it was excellent. Some decent veggie (but not vegan) options.

Can't say enough positive things about this place. Superb five star service that never feels pretentious or stuffy. Creative cuisine with roots in tradition but firmly modern at it's core. Our table d'hôte menu was dreamed up on the spot by our friendly waiter, we shared a buttery luscious fois gras paté and spicy compote. I had the scallops, perfectly seared but still moist and sweet inside. My husband had the duck confit special. The menu is tight but there are options for any dietary restriction. Highly recommended.

What a great experience we had at Auguste's in old Sherbrooke! We hardly ever see blood pudding on US menus so when we saw that Auguste had it on its menu we went for it right away! It was out of this world, cooked just right, crispy on the outside, yet moist on the inside. It was served with mashed potatoes, cooked red cabbage, and covered in a delicious brown sauce that added just the right moisture needed for this dish. Do not hesitate to order this great dish, you will not be disappointed! Our friend had veal liver which looked just as appetizing as our boudin noir.

Hier, nous avons dû renoncer à la fois à la gaspacho et au tartare, qui étaient tous deux en rupture. Le staff est très aimable et malgré ces petits détails à améliorer, nous y retournerons, mais nous appellerons sans doute d'avance pour réserver nos plats.
