This is a great family restaurant. Its only open till 8 though but it's the only place I know who will make up turkey dinners for seniors or families for Xmas and Thanksgiving. Its fresh food and friendly service.

Stopped in to have lunch today and have been there a number of times , today was a busy day there so the kitchen must have been really backed up I had ordered sausage and eggs my table mates had bacon and eggs extra crispy , I hate to say the sausage was raw and my table mates had to send the bacon back to cook longer the server brought more sausages yes they were cooked on the outside and still raw inside , will not order sausage again though other menu items are great

Tried their breakfast for the first time. Ordered take out. I was hoping it would be satisfying. Everything was burnt. I love bacon but couldn't eat mine as it was way too over cooked and tasted like I was eating charcoal almost. I've always went to The Bendale and was going to give this place a shot but never again. Portion size was small. I could of easily ate 2 orders and I'm 100 lbs.

Sammy's always has excellent food however the last 2 visits have been a little disappointing. I ordered the all day breakfast on both occasions and while everything else was great, the home fries had an aftertaste of stale grease. They need to change their oil more or clean the grill better.

It's hard to find the right words but I just want to say that the staff are great, quick it's got a sense of community and the food is simple wholesome and a good variety and the prices are unheard of these days and really at value for money Can highly recommend them. I particularly used to like getting a breakfast on the run which is anytime of the day I really can't say enough about the the crew and chef at Sammy's. It's becoming institution. Enjoy

The Moment you enter the Restaurant your met with big smiles and warm greetings. After being seated quickly, your served by Wonderful staff who within minutes have come back with breakfast piping hot! Having ordered the Eggs Benedict with poached Salmon, I made a small alteration to the order ( Whole Wheat Bread instead of an English muffin) and still it was in front of me in moments! Hollandaise was right on, and the poached eggs were perfect!

It's not wheelchair accessible. However our server let us sit in the booth right near the front window. She was super friendly. Our orders were fast without any mistakes and the food was really good. The prices were good too. We will likely be back next time we are in the area .

Sammy's is as local as you can get A family restaurant thats been serving the local community for decades. Recently renovated, their menu is quite extensive and price wise they are very reasonable. Breakfast peak times can have you waiting in line.

SAMMY'S, has, undergone a change of ownership and management this summer/2017... Raymond is owner now. However, he was a cook here before, and Chris still is! So the menu remains the same, and you can still expect the same friendly service and good home- cooked food, in good portions, and reasonably-priced! ~js P.S. Four suggestions, nonetheless... They need to upgrade the flavour of some of the pastas: The Alfredo was bland, not enough sauce and the pasta mushy! Ask before pouring gravy over everything, esp. your great prime beef! The pancakes are much too pale... And you gotta increase your dessert menu! The apple pie is great and the cheesecake, but, almost never available on weekends! Freeze some, already... Problem solved! And how about some baklava??

Had the Ham and Eggs and felt like it’s just “average”. Everything was hot and cooked well except the eggs which was slightly overcooked. I like that the home fries were had very minimal grease. I also that they offer a choice of toast between white, brown and rye. Prices are not too bad. I wish they would of included a coffee or tea in the price. Otherwise, I will say at this point I find this place just overall “Average”.

Loved loved all the brekkies but I think they could have done better with the Benny, the sauce was nice but the eggs weren’t done right. However, will definitely go back because man, they filled me up for the entire day. We went there right before we took a road trip to Quebec and we didn’t have to stop for food! The service is really good though they were really busy. Wait time is around 10 minutes, parking is right there and the environment is just popping!

A friendly traditional family restaurant, a pleasant change from the chain eateries. Fantastic Prime Rib and great breakfasts, I take my aunt there all the time, it's her favourite place. Three generations, Sam, Chris and his son are often behind the counter. This is the real deal, in a world of ersatz everything.

We've been here 2 times for breakfast, ordering pancakes and french toast the first time, and waffle and a plate of eggs, sausages, bacon and potatoes the second time. Pancakes and french toast were good, but waffles and the plates with eggs were super-delicious! Recommended.

I would like to comment on Chantel's review. First and formost bashing your waitress with false statements and accusations take any credibility from your review. Bluntly put you are full of it. I am a regular at Sammy's and your attack on your server Janice is just that.I have known Janice for over a year she is the most caring respectable profesional waitress I have ever met and I know she would have bent over backwards to make your visit and order right.Yes glasses get old and scratched from multible runs from dishwasher and in no way would you have been given a dirty glass. You found a hair in your salad this happens it should not but it does. Your other accusation that Janice took your plate dumped salad on new one is also false. I think you were just looking for any excuse to score a free meal or a discount. You failed to tell people you ordered take out so you did not experiance dining in. I will also stand up for each and every server and cook at Sammys as you will not find a group of more caring and hospitable people anywhere. Why dont you give them another try but I do think you owe Janice a apology. Have a nice day.

OK, I never have time nor care to review, but I've never eating such disappointing chicken souvlaki dinner like this. First of all the salad had no dressing, the cucumber smelt and tasted like fish, completely turned me off. 2Nd the chicken was under cooked and not exactly tasty. 3Rd the rice was not fresh, it was clunky like it was sitting for over a day. 4th the portion for $17 was ridiculousness. If it wasn't take out i'd be back to the restaurant slamming this garbage on their counter. What a waste

I'll tell you I lived in Scarborough my whole life over 50 years and I'll tell you I was in there today I was at the hospital I stopped in there for breakfast and I'll tell you if you never been to Sammy's Family Restaurant once you go there you'll go back I guarantee you breakfast starts at like $7 and I think the most expensive one was $11 in the staff is friendly I suggest you try it cuz I'll be going back

It's a good place for a breakfast. They will modify your order anyway you ask, which is nice. The eggs Benedict with peameal bacon was yummy and a good size. I asked them to add spinach and put hollandaise sauce on my home fries and they did it no problem. Home fries were average. The coffee was regular diner coffee and endless. Service was stellar. I will go back for sure. Totally recommended.

Very friendly staff and chicken souvlaki dinner is a great deal. Comes with salad,soup, bread ,rice , potatoes and meat. We get 2 dinners and it's around 35$ for the both of us.

I ordered a western omelette and it was good. It had everything that should be in a western omelette plus it was nice and hot when I got it. They keep the restaurant clean and tidy. The staff are helpful and friendly. I would recommend it.

Recently went with a friend for lunch. We ended up getting their all day breakfast. Welcomed nicely and clean family type restaurant .. Breakfast was very good and filling, definitely worth the price. Waitress was nice but not overly attentive. Maybe busy? I will definitely go again and eat :)

The waitress was amazing. The service was fast. The soup of the day was great, the garlic bread was good. The vegetables were bland, the 6 oz steak seemed so small and thin, and was bland too. They only thing great in that plate was the fries. It was fries that was very soft and big like how fries used to be at restaurants 20 years ago. If I come back I will avoid the steak and try something different. I am curious to try their breakfast one of these days.

I stumbled upon this little restaurant totally by accident but I'll definitely be back. I was curious when I saw liver and onions as one of their specials. Anyone who loves this dish knows how hard it is to find a place that knows how to make this well. Although I like mine slightly breaded this place doesn't. I still thought it was quite tasty. I was actually quite surprised at how many people ordered it while we were there. Great price and good food. I totally recommend!

My lord, I am so glad I was shown this place. The food, is pretty darn good. I used to only go for breakfast and their food was cheap yet quality, always a good eat. The atmosphere is nice, feels like a family restaurant and the staff are so nice and accomodating! I finally tried out more of their menu and they even made good dinner food! Also one of the best milkshakes I've ever had

I enjoy the food in this restaurant a great deal. Everything I have ever ordered has been fantastic I do however find that unless you are a regular the service is not as great. I don’t think it right that while waiting to place a take out order that a regular can walk past you and order directly to the cook. I have experienced a number of similar situations on a number of different occasions. But honestly the food is great

We've been patrons of these owners through each business they have owned because they treat us like family, the service is always great and the food is good comfort food! On another note, we aren't the only ones who follow these owners! Their staff travels with them. Apparently they are great bosses to work for and their wait staff appreciate it and have been loyal to them for years. This will become one of your favorite breakfast places and a good stand by for when you can't decide where to go for dinner. Good food, good prices. Comfortable, easy ambiance of a family diner.

Was down in Scarborough around lunchtime and ladies at a health shop nearby highly recommended going. The lovely waitress was efficient and friendly. Enjoyed one of the lunch specials which included soup with a thick slice of super yummy garlic bread. Chose the tender calf liver (which came with two nice pieces), roasted oven potatoes, and veggies, plus tried the rice pudding. Everything was delicious and portion sizes excellent; brought half home for dinner. Highly recommend this place and will go back again.

This continues to be an awesome place. One cannot say enough about the breakfasts. Whether it's the eggs, the sausages,the ham, the peameal bacon, or the regular bacon served with home fries or tomatoes are always perfectly done. A large selection of omelettes, pancakes, French toast and toast are also on the list. A wide variety of main dishes for lunch and dinner roundup a wonderful experience. And most importantly are the prices that are more than reasonable. I'll give it 4 and 1/2 Stars only because no place is perfect.

Decided to go based on friend of a friend recommendation. Ordered the steak & eggs and avocado omelette. Eggs were fantastic, usually eggs are just eggs but these tasted better than average. The steak on the other hand was served luke warm. The omelette was good mainly due to the eggs. Where things go downhill a bit aside from the luke warm steak is the service. It was a bit hard to get the attention of the waitress and slow to refill and grab the bill. All in all, I wouldn't go out of the way for this place but if I was in the area it's worthwhile
