Do not try to come in after 9PM. They say they close at 9:30 but every time I've walked over just after 9 the lights are off and the door is locked. I called to verify they'd be open today and sure enough they were closed at 9:10 when I got there.

Hot and sour soup is one of my favorite single foods out there and I’ve tried a lot of them all over town. The soup at Phoenix is #1 in my book. The quality of ingredients, texture, flavor, consistency, and heat is simply perfect. The rest of the menu looks great as well, and I’ll be sure to try other dishes next. Friendly owners too, very nice people. Highly recommend you try it if you like tasty, well prepared Asian cuisine

I don't normally write google reviews (in fact this is my first) but I just love Phoenix! My family and I have been coming here for years and out of all the hakka restaurants I have tried, Phoenix is the best! Its affordable, the portions are generous and their menu offers a variety of dishes that can accommodate people with different food preferences! The food is delicious/ tasty/authentic and the staff are friendly and efficient. Pheonix does dine in, take-out and can even accommodate larger groups where a buffet option is available! The two MUST try dishes would be the prawns in sweet garlic chili sauce and the chicken pakora (I order these everytime)!

Haven't ordered from here in a while but was happily surprised the last time I did. Have only ordered Chinese food from here, so cannot attest to the Hakka/Thai selections. Food was fresh, not greasy and ingredients were of good quality. Staff are very nice and accommodating and even give you a giant bag of house-made shrimp chips with your order. Wish they had better Cantonese fried noodles (gong doong chow mein) but everything else is very good. The shrimps are a very good size, not those teeny ones you get at most restaurants. Will definitely be ordering from here again when I'm too lazy to make Chinese food at home.

There is no better place for Asian food in the area. Dare I say all of Toronto. If you want great order-in or take-out, this is the place. Fantastic General Tao, Chiili Chicken (unreal), chicken balls (tons of actual chicken inside, and not the typical red goopy sauce, they make their own! Everything is fresh, looks great and a taste to match.

Been to this place many of times and never been disappointed. The prices are very fair, the flavour of the food is very good for both their Hakka and chinese, the portions are large. I've had so many dishes there that I loved, they have my favorite pakora out of any hakka places that I've tried. Keep up the good work

Small cozy place to have a delicious meal. They are a fusion of Chinese, Hakka and Indian cuisine so you will get an amazing assortment of dishes to choose from. I will highly recommend an off menu item called "Bombay chicken". The best Asian/Indian style chicken I have ever had. The Sesame crispy beef was a little to bland for my taste, but they were more like beef sausages so if you like that try it out. Overall I highly recommend this place and the dishes can feed up to 3 hungry people each.

This is one of the best Hakka restaurant in Scarborough. The food is awesome, lots of varieties with an extremely reasonable prices. The services are superb. It's a small family run restaurant with mostly takeout n deliveries. Ideal place for small family get together. Peaceful , hygienic n good food with low prices, what else do you want?.

I wish I had tried this place before today, their food is terrific. The lunch specials are excellent and inexpensive (Hakka chicken and Manchurian chicken). The wonton soup was made with care, the little touches like snow peas in it, made me see that this isn't just your run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. I highly recommend it (and I can't say that for very many restaurants of any genre, in this area) it's not too greasy or salty or soy(y)? Lol. Bon Appetite !

The food was bland in comparison to similar restaurants. The chow mein was was below average - what looked and tasted like day old salad tossed in the wok with some noodles, egg and chicken. The chilli chicken was oily and full of batter and fat/gristle. The mixed vegetables were over done. The garlic chilli shrimp was over cooked to the point that it was mushy in its batter. Sub-par experience. There are much better options out there.

Hidden gem right on Kingston Rd and Scarborough Golf Club Rd. It serves up great food, that you won't find in any other typical Chinese Restaurant. Has great selection, from spicy, to crispy, to sweet. Their Coconut Soup is great. And the size of the shrimp they serve is huge!

Disgusting chili chicken, had their lunch special alongside chicken wontons. The chicken pieces inside the chili chicken were full of soft chicken fat which was very unappetizing and never had that at any other hakka place. What disgusted me was chewing into one piece that was just pure chicken fat chunk coated and deep fried, i spit it out and at the end asked the owner why there was so many fat chunks in the meat to which he responded dismissively: this is lunch special so you just get that meat with it... I was speechless and left immediately. Ohh and the chicken wontons were bland as well. Never again.

I love when my sister visits because we always discover new restaurants together in my neighbourhood. I usually don't take the time to see anything new but when she's around it's on! She's very adventurous so we came here to eat last week. I'm glad we went! Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs so we got a beef dish, some friend eggplant, a chili shrimp, and tempura covered shrimp. sorry, I'm not sure the exact names of all the food. It was interesting and very tasty. Not something I would have all the time, but great for an adventure for the palate!

We do takeout and the food is quite good with some unique items done well. General Tao shrimp, crispy beef, ginger chicken yum! We have tried many of the dishes, many are favourites. Worth checking out. the price point is worth it.

My family and I came to eat at the restaurant at exactly 8:40 pm and when we went in, they refused to serve us and let us eat in there since they said they were closing even though they are supposed to close at 9:30 pm. Why make make closing time at 9:30pm when you start closing before 9:00pm. The owner was unfriendly, didn’t even apologized, he just tried to get rid of us. The way the owner acted was really astonishing. It was super rude.

Small, clean place with quick and friendly service. Plates are bone China and Oneida utensils which brings a home-cooked feel. I've only had 4 items on the menu - mango salad, chili chicken, crispy beef and the salt and pepper squid. All were very good!

The food tasted very bland and had no flavour. It’s almost like there was no sauce or spices. Dishes tasted like no seasoning was added. Food is ready in the less than 10 minutes. I’m guessing they just warm frozen food and then serve it. Even McDonald’s takes longer to prepare. I cant recommend this restaurant.

Extremely disappointed. We came for a family dinner 48 minutes before closing time, however the owner refused to let us dine in and his customer service is the worst, very cold and unfriendly. Why say 9:30 if you don’t let customers dine in. Honestly would’ve given them 0 stars if that was possible.

Excellent price. Hakka noodles and green beans were excellent (great flavour, not too oily). I found the hakka beef to be somewhat tough and not crispy, although this may be due to the nature of take-out for this sort of thing. The taste was good, however. I will definitely go back (and gladly reevaluate if the next meat dish stands up a bit better). ------- Honey garlic chicken, Chinese greens and spicy chow mein... All awesome. Revise - - > 5/5
