Friendly staff, fantastic vegetarian food, nice venue, all at a very low price!
Reading couple of great reviews we bought our group on coupon and went there but it was the most miserable tasting Indian food we ever tasted. So cold and bland. They call it a buffet but you have to stand in a line and they serve you. They had a couple of items for desert but they will give you any one item per person thats it and they call it a buffet. Not one curry tasted good. Will never go there.
Big place for groups and friends. Only Vegeterian..
Opps and sorry Chicago but Govinda’s Restaurant in Toronto can’t even be compared to what I experience at my local ISKCON restaurant. Goginda’s Toronto has absolutely amazing dining area, wery warm and welcoming… You can dine-in if you have a proof of vaccination. Their multi course eas sooo tasty that even my mom (not used to indian food) was amazed! I can’t wait to come back to dine in again but on my bucket list there is also to have prasadam at Swaminarayan Temple in Toronto .. It was absolutely amazing tasty experience and on top of that - on the budget! Can’t be happier! Hare Krishna!
Nice atmosphere. Not much selection but food is tasty, nutritious and vegetarian.
Lunch
If you're a vegetarian looking for a healthy, fast, quality meal in a peaceful setting with great service at a low price I'm not sure Govindas can be beat... It's a fixed menu meal w/soup or salad (seasonal) and dessert for $10.
Delicious simple vegetarian food, so good and home made. Go there super hungry, the portions are big and a very relaxing environment
I had been eyeing this place for a while now, finally decided to visit. The platter was delicious! A good variety of different flavors with an interesting balance of sweet, salty and plain. When I saw it I thought the portions were small but I could barely finish it all, and the only thing that kept me going was the delicious flavors. People were kind and attentive, and when I went it was mostly empty so it had this calming environment. Would definitely go again!
I went there when I was in high school during a school trip. The only that I remember is that I ate one of the best vegetarian meals in my entire life, thus I really recommend this place to everyone, specially to my fellow vegetarian/ vegan fellows !
Very pleasant and peaceful place.
Affordable food, good quality, excellent staff, 100%recommended for any ocassion
Service
Lord Shri Krishna's Temple
Excellent food and ambience.
Went to govinda's today, we loved the vegan food, the good part is that the food is very pure and traditional indian food, no onion and garlic and not spicy at all...loved the spinach pakoda...a lot of people might not like the food as it is not made with usual indian spices but I loved it. It was simple homemade food. We also got a vegan dessert...
Beautiful ambience, simple food. More like prasadam. We were sated and content after the just enough portions.
Great food, fabulous price and atmosphere.
Lovely food and atmosphere!!
This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. I almost walked right past without a second thought. But as I walked in, I was surprised the restaurant is attached to a temple, which looks like a repurposed church. The decor was interesting. The food is good and for 10 bucks you get soup, a massive platter and dessert.
Delivery
Generous portion and food was very tasty. Excellent price as it includes a 3-course meal with appetizer, main and dessert. Restaurant was not noisy so it felt more intimate and cozy. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Will definitely dine there again.
Superb restaurant ❤️☺️
Dinner
I always pass by here, and today decided to stop by and try the lunch and I'm really happy that I did. Very clean and the food is delicious with a very friendly service. Hidden Gem ????.
The food was really horrible. Had really high expectations after reading all the reviews but it was really disappointing. I can honestly say this is by far the 2nd worst restaurant in my life.
Nice place, good size portion of yummy food. Good veg choice
It was just awesome. Food was so tasty beyond words and I am so happy to buy diwali sweets for friends and family from this holy place. Hare Krishna
The restaurant serve delicious meals! The system is a bit different, you are served the salad then you go to a food station where you can choose what you will eat. You can have anything that's available, even try everything if you want too. The limit is what fits in your plate.
Pure vegetarian food in a spiritual atmosphere. This is the best kind of food for yogis or people on spiritual journey a.k.a. saatvic food. The portion was generous and variety was great.
This is the best vegetarian meal you're going to get in Toronto. Not much choice but it's also only $10 including tax (or pwyc). My only advice is please have mango lassi more often and also I often arrive late when the best desserts are gone - maybe keep an extra couple servings on hand? Also if you wonder why you feel so great after this healthy, delicious meal it's because this food has been offered to Krishna and you're technically doing a form of yoga by eating it!
Delicious, quiet, inexpensive vegetarian. Nice if you appreciate spirituality too.
I cooked indian cuisine for more than 15yrs, eaten indian food all around the world. this place lack passion, purpose of why this beautiful diverse cuisine exists. the place is not clean either. the staff is judgemental.
Great food, lovely atmosphere!
Located inside the temple. The dining area itself is in a large hall, with food being served from one of the corners. For $10, you get a soup and salad, a plate of food, and a dessert. The options vary day-to-day, sort of like a canteen. You basically get what they felt like making that day, so things may be different everytime. It's quite a lot of food for what you're paying for, since you get the full 3-courses. I don't know about the taste since I don't visit too many indian places, but I found it pretty tasty although there's no meat. Has various sauces and spices in everything. This probably isn't really a restaurant but part of the temple operations for the people that spend their days there, so don't be surprised with how it works. I don't expect it to operate like a commercial restaurant.
Delicious and healthy food at a great price.
Govindas is the best place for delicious, vegetarian, affordable food! No doubt the best.
5 ???? reviews are pretty common for this place. People could have given it even 7 ⭐, but google doesn't have the option. Now, the rare/ occasional 1 or 2 ⭐ are from people who have their expectations set in wrong order, this is not a brainer, just read them and you'd know. So, if you have seen beautiful photos from previous reviews with nice dinnerware and when you are actually served in food grade plastic container and have to use plastic cutlery, be respectful. It might be the best way possible for them to adapt to the new reality. I am sure, when things are better we could see old ways back into play. You are getting a good size samosa or pakoda with chutney for starters, a cup of dal ( lentils), two curries ( we got aloo-Matar and paneer ), and, rice-pulav, and chapati for main course and a rasgulla for dessert for just CAD 12.95. it's like a personalized tour of indian cuisine which is all plant based ( but not vegan as paneer is made from ????). It's not about value for money, it's the rich experience of taste which is so economical here. For us , personally, it's not like eating in a restaurant here. It's like receiving Prasad, even if received in bare hands it would still be blessed. The money they charge and the tip we give for the food is just like Seva ( service ) for us. We can never match the blessings with money. But, for you it could be a different experience altogether. So, for the sake of review, I can confirm that the food is really tasty and is really hygienic. The service is amazing, you'd be surprised how humble the staff/ volunteers are. The only thing they ask you to do is throw the container and and napkins in garbage bin, which is very common practice here. The place is very welcoming and gives vibe of a fine dining place. ( The washroom is clean, and puts lots of big franchises to shame) Hare Krishna ????
Meal type
Kind of different vegetarian restaurant to enjoy delicious, simple and healthy menu in a quite mystic place.
Excellent vegan and vegetarian food
Tiny portion of food in a plastic container, even when you're eating in. $12.95....And don't be fooled! Vegetarian food ingredients are very cheap so there's no justification for such a price. This is a religious establishment and we're being duped into generously financing their temple rather than getting a good meal for a reasonable price.
Service
The experience was serene. Since it is part of the temple, the service felt divine. But the service was in line with the principles of atithi debobhay.
This place is amazing. $10 to get a soup or salad, variety of vegetarian Indian food for the main, and a small dessert which may not be too everyone's taste, but there has been more variety with the desert and I really like the hallway (cream of wheat with brown sugar). You can also get Mango juice or tea at an extra cost. I've been here many times and always love it. The restaurant is in a Hare Krishna Temple. A sign marks the doors that you go in for the restaurant. The room Govinda's is in has very high ceilings, very interesting decor, and a calm atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. The food is delicious! It's not spicy hot but is very flavorful. In the winter the room can be a bit chilly and on very hot summer days it is rather hot. Those days are good times to get the food to go. You can pay with cash or credit card.
Amazing food, must try
Best place to be!
i am vegetarian thats the only reason i se to order from here but past 2 times i am getting bad food with 1 chapati and they dont even bother to pack the food properly i paid 17 dollar for this.when you try calling they dont answer.i will add pic how i received food. let me know any one of you think its fresh delivered food from restaurant or somebody left over
Tasty vegan food. It costs only $20. Recommended to try vegan food
Awesome food. Home like taste and high quality food. Jay shree krishna ????????
I went with my family for a Dinner at Iskcon Toronto Govindas. The person who was serving the food is the most rude person I have ever met. He is not a devotee, instead he promotes his own personal business by distributing his business cards on the table. The food was tasteless. The way that person piled up the food in one plate was ridiculous. Every thing was on the top of each other and completely cold. I was so disgusted with his behavior and manner of serving. I brought my sister and brother in law with me for temple darshan. I don’t think they would ever want to come to the temple after this Horrible experience. I would request temple management to change the person in charge of the restaurant. He is not at all doing a good job instead tuning the temple’s reputation.
It’s an amazing and authentic place for Indian thali! The ambiance is perfect as it’s adjacent to Hare Krishna temple and its silent atmosphere is automatically a mindful eating. Additionally, the food is price effective considering the quality and items in thali.
This is a nice place and has nice Indian art - idols, colors etc all over. Part of the isckon temple. Food wise it was ok. Dint like nor hate the items on the day. Lot of potatoes in all the items. the staff is nice and helpful. Good for one time visit. Will may be go again but after a long time.
Tasty food, lovely people, great environment, great for vegans and the price is so low. I always give them 25% tip because they are worth it!
Really nice place. Vegetarian food, only 10$, really tasty and a lot of quantity.
Always Awesome!
Amazing karma free food! Great service and amazing price!
Delicious food, Temple style Prasad kind of food. Really loved the service and silence.
Service
Nice and lovely.
Very homely and divine food. I am a huge fan of samosas and the gulab jamun.
The food from here fills just not the belly but also the soul! Very tasty, cheap and healthy.
Great food at an affordable price.Quiet and homely ambience with good service.Definately a must try
Excellent Prasadam (food that is offered to Lord Krishna).. The food served here is the best! And on top of this, it's Value for money.. A definite must visit irrespective of Covid-19 as Lord Krishna's mercy shall always protect us when we eat transcendental food served @ Govinda's.. Thanks to all involved in serving such wonderful and fulfilling food! Hare Krishna
Interesting place. Food was OK.
Excellent service and really tasty! Thank you
Amazing food people and service. True serenity in the heart of Toronto.
While the food here is good and the location is quite unique, it is a tad strange to receive food cafeteria-style and it's almost too quiet. Some quiet Indian music would be nice.
My favourite restaurant! Often Indian food is quite oily but here it is not! The food is sooo good here and the service is fantastic
Great vegetarian food in a serene environment at a good price. A hidden gem.
Super friendly, beautiful place! Amazing food got all Vegans , just ask , some desert may have dairy so it’s good to ask! But , for ten dollars for the huge , tasty, delicious meal it’s the best deal I think in the city!
Simply Amazing! The decor here is simple and tranquil, adorned with beautiful religious statues and paintings. Soft music that you may use for meditations plays gently in the background. For the unbelievable price of only ten dollars you receive a three course vegetarian lunch or dinner. The menu is set and changes daily. Now I have tried Indian cuisine in many, many places but this left a lasting impression on me. You can have one, any or all of the prepared dishes, I recommend all. Every single bite was a different experience in taste and had me in disbelief at how amazing the flavor was. A masterful use of herbs that I have never encountered, not overdone and barely spicy; this was the most unique indian food I have ever eaten. We left feeling calm, refreshed, and satisfied. Counting the minutes until the next visit, Govinda's did not disappoint.
Brunch
Food is nice but not really a buffet.
Best food
Soup, main course, And dessert food only $10! Relaxing, quiet atmosphere.
Dinner
Best food I've tasted in Toronto so far.
Its just that I found Govinda in India much better than here. The indian one had more variety.
Excellent vegetarian food. Great variety. Serivice excellent. Place spoltlessly clean
Extremely delicious meal. Nice friendly staff. Three of us enjoyed the food. Quite great flavours! Rather excellent! Much better than typical restaurant fare. A home cooking vibe.
The best vegan place ever...
The restaurant served their food buffet style, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was still disappointed. Food is very bland. The atmosphere is also run-of-the-mill, but the staff are very nice.
This is the kind of place that you don't want everyone to know about for fear it changes, but wow, what an excellent experience. From the unusual entrance, to the wild room and decor, you know you're some place interesting. But it's the service, the price, and of course the food that makes it 5 stars. All outstanding. Massive portions, nothing too spicy (though I'm sure you could kick it up) and super friendly faces are why I'll be going back.
Okay so if you want a spicy, oily and restaurant style fancy food -do not eat at this place. But if you want to eat typical home-cooked food with basic natural flavours, THIS IS THE BEST PLACE, or may I say ONLY PLACE to go. Right from salads to curries to desert everything was plain and simple. The flavours very delicate but delicious. If you understand the concept of SATTVIK DIET, then you will know what I am talking about. The ambience is very decent, server was good at his duties, soft music playing in the background, decent nutritious food - all makes it a comforting meal experience. PS: Some bad reviews you might read, I believe, must be from people who either don't understand the concept of Sattvik Diet or they don't have tastebuds at all...
Hare Krishna theme restaurant. Vegetarian Indian food. Sit where you choose. Set meal. No menu. Salad was served first. After salad, go to the counter to choose your entree. After entree there is dessert. Healthy food. Not as flavourful as unhealthy food. Service was polite. Not a handicap friendly place. Stairs no elevator. Park on side street.
Love this quiet, peaceful restaurant .. food is delicious (not much spice tho)
Meal type
(Translated) There is nothing better in Toronto at this price. Varied menu, healthy and changes every evening. Helpful and kind staff. The price is negligible, leave a hefty tip, it will be invested in the activities of the center. Highly recommended. (Original) Non c'è niente di meglio a Toronto a questo prezzo. Menù variegato, sano e cambia tutte le sere. Personale disponibile e gentile. Il prezzo è irrisorio, lasciate una lauta mancia, verrà investita in attività del centro. Consigliatissimo.
I love to go lunch here!
Lovely, peaceful and delicious dine-in experience. Will surely come back!
great place, surprisingly not religious or closed, very welcoming and pleasant. the large roof and spacious seating makes it so perfect for a slow dining and chat. very cozy and relaxed. hospitality is second to none, and by default all vegetarian food. highly recommend it.
Great place with simple and delicious vegetarian food. The ambience of the surrounding temple makes it an ideal place to dine in a peaceful environment.
Beautiful atmosphere and amazing food for a great price. Your stomach will thank you!
No Onion and Garlic even in Chinese dish........great..
We really liked how everything tasted, simple balanced meal. Thank you!
Very good and reasonably priced. Very quick service.
Masterpiece I just had lunch today at Govinda's. It was my first time and boy was I impressed. It wasn't overly busy and personally, that was to my liking being in a busy office all morning. We were greeted by a warm, friendly server who showed us to our seats and offered us beverages. The thali had so much available, I felt spoiled. I especially enjoyed the mixed vegetable and paneer and the lauki chana dal. Simply delicious. The facility was very clean and the atmosphere relaxing. My colleague enjoyed himself as well. We'll definitely be coming back! Thanks to Sri for such great service.
Delicious food....good price....good variery...clean and peaceful ambience.... satvik...or pure food.
I enjoy every bite of food. exellent vegetarian food with 3 course meal. i highly recommend this place to all the vegetarian people. I already been there twice and every time its a new experience with different menu and poeple are very nice n coperative.
Dine in
Quiet, serene atmosphere.
Food was 4.5 out of 5...very flavourful but not the best Indian food I’ve had in Toronto. However, the unique experience, peaceful ambiance, kind staff and unbeatable price ($10 for three course meal) means I will for sure be coming back and I do not hesitate giving this an enthusiastic 5 star review.
Very delicious, good spice level and amount of food. Consistently good food at a good price! The vegan combo is all you ever wanted.
Service
Super Friendly Customer Service, Wonderful Food!!! Best for Vegetarians&Vegans
Amazing food! Very friendly staff and relaxed, open space. Great place for vegetarian and vegan food. Sweets are awesome too!
Great kitchen. Neat, clean and observing all COVID precautions ++ Bhgwad Seva
Loved this place so much, it felt so divine and the atmosphere was peaceful. The food was delicious. Highly recommend it.
Divine place. Best food. Just in10$. Very polite staff. I love you Iskcon.

Perfect place, perfect food, cheap.. loved it!!
Best place to go for Sattvic pure and fresh vegetarian food
The food is tasty, but be aware that it is in a temple. Also no HST since it is a charity!
Best home made style Indian food in downtown Toronto.
The quality of food is great, so this has been one of my go to places for when I crave simple home-cooked Indian vegetarian food. But the recent thali I ordered through ubereats was such a disappointment! The vegetarian thali promises 2 vegetable sabjis, pakoras, and salad, in addition to dal and roti, but what I got was a chole curry and plain palak gravy with no veggies at all, no pakoras, and very little rice!
Nice food.
Amazing vegetarian and vegan Indian food. Great, quick service and tasty food. It is a set menu that changes every day. It includes a soup, main entree (which is a large platter of different dishes), and dessert for only $10 (tax included)! Amazing value for such good food and big portions! Will definitely be coming back!
The best vegetarian food in Toronto. Our whole family loves coming here.
One of the best place in Downtown Toronto for pure vegetarian..
Very quite place, relaxed environment and absolutely delecious food.
Really nice space with great fresh North Indian food. The profits benifit the Hare Krishna Church and they charge only $10 for a meal. I would say as good vegetarian Indian as I have had in Toronto in a quiet serene setting.
Service
Good place to eat veg food
Great food and a great service.
i just want to thank you so much ,and i really love so much
Very good and authentic food.
Very calm environment. Peaceful. Good food.
I have been a weekly visitor u til last year but when I did today after a while it was shocking. Food taste familiar but You cannot serve hot food in plastic container /spoon and it’s wrong from health, culture and from every angle, many options were taken away from Thali. I know everyone had tough year but serving substandard for the heck of it will not help you either.
Very authentic food with really tasty flavor .. The resturant is inside the temple .. Very good deal for 3 course meal for $10 .. It comes with main dish , soup and sweet !.. Lunch ends by 2:30 pm so just be there before that if you want to get the lunch .. The staff are really great and helpful!
Amazing food and for a very reasonable price. Traditional Indian environment, restaurant attached to a temple like you would see at an ashram. Lots of vegan options!
A nice relaxing place to eat purely vegetarian food
Appreciate the vibes but very under whelming food. Wasn’t fresh. That where the buck stops for me.
nice clean atmosphere, very good Indian food - not too spicy and not too oily. close to downtown toronto, its a buffet with soup and salad and roti and veges and legumes and snacks- and healthy. cant ask for more for $10.
Amazing food, clean preparation and friendly staff

You guys do an amazing job. Grew up eating weekend meals in temple. I Just order food when I feel homesick. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Doesn't get better than this!

It's a very quite, pleasant, and calm place to enjoy a meal. I would recommend it at least once.
Wow! I went for lunch over the weekend and loved it. The food was outstanding. The atmosphere was elegant. They sat me down and right away served me with a plate of salad. The meal was delicious. It was a packed plate filled with assorted veggie fried fitters, rice, lentils and three curry's. In the plate they served me there was what seamed to be vegetarian Indian meatballs in a marinara sauce and that was far by my favorite item. This is the best vegetarian restaurant I have ever been to!!!
Veggie thali is just 10 bucks. Most of the items are vegan
Amazing experience, when you eat food cooked with outmost dedication and positive attitude you tend to spread it too.
Govinda's is a great and economic way to enjoy wine tasting food. It is buffet style. The options are always excellent and the food tastes great
They only have 1 menu for $10! It’s a course meal where you get a soup, platter (changes every day), and a dessert. The owner was very nice and attentive throughout the whole time. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice home-made Indian foods!
Poor quality! Sattvik Aahar is scrumptious. I just couldn't experience it at your restaurant. Thank you.
The food is good and tasty. Feels like home. A good number of variety for platter. The only problem I had was that the plate doesn't have sections and it is not big enough to keep all the menu items separated. This causes all the items to be mixed.
Tasty and healthy food.
Great serene ambiance in a historic church. Food was decent if a bit mild. Good value as we paid $6 per person with a groupon.
The most affordable, delicious and filling place to eat in Toronto! Covid safety measures are in place.
The best Vegetarian food I've ever eaten in Toronto. Good quantity, affordable, best place for hygienic food. $10 unlimited ????- Starts with delicious salad, soup, main course, choice of dessert.???????? Best choice for all desis out there.???? Jai Shri Krishna????????
Food is good, prices are the best in town.
Excellent food served with devotional pleasure. Come once and you would always be looking to come back!
Lunch
It's an amazing place, great food and peaceful vibes. It's very affordable and you can tell it's made with love. I've come several times and it has never disappointed me. I always leave happy.
Excellent food! I highly recommend this place for a hot delicious lunch
the best places where u can get authentic Indian taste.
Govinda’s is a real hidden gem. Such delicious healthy food and they always have vegan and gluten free options. The staff is also incredibly friendly and welcoming. So thankful to have found out about this place!
Take out
calm sere and divine. they also servers a very good meal. the place is quiet and you can feel the divinity . very kind and helpful people around
Food was amazing good variety non spicy and nice ambiance
Its cool to be in a church having lunch in a neutral environment. I know walking into a church can be difficult for some
Love Govindas, an excellent food , super excellent service!!! Highly Recommended!!!
Awesome food. Heaven for vegetarians!!
Lunch
For $10 you get a vegetarian soup, main course & dessert. All delicious, good quality ingredients and lots of vegetables. Will definitely be back!
Dine in
Terrible taste no spice, buffet is misleading as there are only a few items to pick up from.
Awesome place here. A great temple by ISKCON on left side of Govinda's. Great food options.
Good food with 100% vegan options. But they can improve it with a little quality and serving it warm. The quantity too should br little more than currently served with bigger plates each different container instead of mixing everything in one flat quarter plate.
Hare Krishna ???????? Govinda’s is a must visit when you visit the temple , even otherwise. The saathvik food that you get to buy to eat here is incomparable to any other restaurant. They offer amazing menu for ekadashi as well. Always blessed to get to eat food here and it is pure bliss after you honour the prasad ???????????????????????? the staff here is so friendly and helps orders arrive without delay at your tables.
Meal type
Great homemade nutritional healthy and tasty food at a very reasonable price.
Interesting experience. If you live in the city, worth a try. Check out their fun temple too with cool statues. Food tastes bit different from Indian restaurants, but feels healthier. Cheap and plentiful portions. I like it enough to visit often.
The menu is small and simple but that makes it really good. Great vegetarian place
Pure vegetarian.
Very nice!
It was so delicious! Amazing food! I have no idea what I had, there was yellow stuff and red stuff and a pastry.. all incredibly tasty!
It was a surprise to find this only now having been around here for so long. This is a very simple and low-key place. It is part of the whole temple complex. Has a very Beautiful and peaceful ambience. You get a full platter (thali) for $10 and you can fill up as much as you want for one serving. The food is simple and tasty. Nothing extravagant or heavy on fat rich or spice rich ingredients. If you know indian food, you'll know what I mean. Basically simple food for a good price. The thali is the only option. Note that the items for the thali changes everyday and it is fully vegetarian which is good!
They serve Delicious and healthy food, freshly made in the temple kitchen. Highly recommended.
Really good and inexpensive. 3-course meal including salad, main and dessert. Portions were great and left me satiated. I loved the service, atmosphere and staff.
(Translated) Friendly service and good food. On Monday at 1 pm there were only us in the restaurant. I would like to be able to serve myself, I could take more adequate amount to my hunger. I ate very well but I would prefer to assemble my own dish. Other than that, the salon needs painting and more lighting. I recommend. The question is not the amount of food, it was more than enough, but it would be a more pleasant experience to assemble my own dish.
What a wonderful vegetarian find in this very expensive city - Govindas is located in the historic temple run by Hari Krishna s & offer a 3-course meal for the exceptional price of $10. The surroundings are peaceful & tranquil & service is excellent. In the room next door is the temple itself which is worth a peep, especially when all the candles are lit. This comes highly recommended especially if you are sensitive to the loud music racket prevailing in most restaurants! What a joy ...
Great vegetarian food for $10.
Delicious indian food and in a clean, covid friendly space. Too bad the temple is closed but the food is certainly fresh and tasteful. All proceeds go to a good cause. The thaali comes with three sides, rice and a roti along with a small app (pakora or samosa) and a sweet. I highly recommend this spot.
The food and service are definitely fantastic. And I love the space. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that i think they need to work on atmosphere just a little bit. They should pump some kirtan in. It's totally silent, which feels strange. And what goes better with prasadam than kirtan? This is Iskcon after all...give us some Jahnavi Harrison, Acyuta Gopi dd, Mayapuris, Amritadev Swami, Madhava Prabhu...connect a speaker to a laptop and stream youtube so we can get down while we're eating lol. But otherwise it's fully 5 Star.
Meal type
Just fantastic! One can't have such a great vegan meal for the price, quantity and the quality anywhere else! Always feel satisfied after every meal and sometimes I wonder why I don't eat there or do takeout every day.
Very quiet/pleasant place. Special. Good portions. Don't expect the usual restaurant experience. But that's why you go there, right?
Meal type
Awesome! 3 course meal at a great price. Outstanding food and made a great family outing. Definitely recommend it!
You can't go wrong with Govinda's, anywhere in the world. Especially if you like tasty vegetarian indian food or have gluten allergy.
great food. full vegetarian meal for $10 in a chill environment. can’t beat that.
Walking into Govinda's, I asked myself, "do I even like vegetarian Indian food?" Upon entry, I didn't know the answer. After eating, I do: yes! This was a super tasty meal, at a great price. I got mine to go. It's similar in size to what you'd get from a food court meal, but tastes homemade. On today's menu: 2 types of veggie dishes (I'm not sure which ones), rice, a spinach pakora and a chapatti. Plus a cup of really awesome soup and a yummy little coconut ball for dessert! I live down the street - will definitely go back.
It's like if you took Chipotle, made it Indian and added unlimited refills of everything and threw in bonus soup, salad, and desert. They're probably making nothing in terms of profit because the food quality is so high and so delicious. Interior looks like an Indian temple. 10/10 and two thumbs up
Service
Tasteless food
Simple, lovely food served in a comfortable space with attentive service. Would definitely be back for a mid-week meal.
Simple, sustainable, hygienic, satvik food
Love this place! A must visit for delicious veg food that feels good for the mind, body & soul. Fresh & Serene Vegetarian Cuisine!
Excellent food!
Not the Thali experience that I had anticipated, because the food was quite immemorable - putting it politely. Bathroom was clean - that I do remember. Paid more for parking than the food - terrible location for out of town patrons - great for the locals. Next time, I'll park outside the downtown core and use the GO train, TCC or bus - that would justify patronizing Govinda's again.
Healthy, cheap and delicious!
Service
Delicious veg/vegan platter For 10$. Good ambience. Light music in the background. Located In ISKCON building. Peaceful and serene environment.
Vegetarian Food Buffet
????
Lovely relaxing space. The delicious vegetarian food is prepared with love and devotion. I ordered take-out, but once entering the space decided that my next visit would definitely be for dine-in.

Went to Govindas with some friends of mine last week and enjoyed a wonderful and affordable dinner. There was an excellent selection of food and it was all very delicious. We were impressed by what we got for the cost. It's rare to find an affordable three-course meal in Toronto. But we were most impressed with the service. The waiter was extremely courteous and made sure we had everything we needed. We felt truly welcomed and want to go back soon.
Satvik food.. just like homemade Indian food. Pure vegetarian and peaceful environment.
Great vegan meal including dessert for only $10! Amazing, thoughtful service. Felt very safe in these covid times. Their menu changes daily!
Govindas is the BEST!!!
Best Sattvik food in town
Went there for early supper last week. Restaurant is in a beautiful, very high ceilinged room in a church building. Indian fare, not too spicey except for one dish. The $10 thali meal of rice, indian soup, three vegetable curries, roti, battered and deep fried vegetables also included salad and a dessert (mine was a milk sweet, rolled in coconut). Food was good and soup was very good. Servers seemed attentive and friendly.
The quality of food was good, however would have been better if it was served hot.
Delicious vegiterian food, clean and beautiful restaurant, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!. There is a beautiful interior as well.
Moderate taste but super excellent service
Vegeterian Indian Food with great taste
Well.....where do I start! My husband and I decided to have lunch at this location today. So off we went. Extremely disappointed!!!! Not at all as advertised. The place was empty when we got there. We were served room temp water on an extremely hot day. When we asked for the advertised tamarind and mango juice we were told there wasnt any. Then the server suddenly appeared with small glass of mango juice and told us to share it. Wow!!! The food (in warming trays) was cold to lukewarm. The roti bread was stale. Selection was terrible. Now wait for this......are you ready......just as I happened to look over at the server.....he lifted the serving ladle of the yellow whatever and brought it to his mouth and then placed the ladle back into the food! I was soooooo disgusted I got up to leave. Upon leaving I stopped to go to the bathroom! Oh my.......filthy filthy filthy. Toilet paper on the floor......garbage hanging out of the garbage bin and to top off.....filthy toilets. We are world travellers and will try any foods. So not first timers to anything. Utter disgrace!!! Will never go back!
Most peaceful Vegetarian Indian food restaurant.
My favorite meal in years. Can't beat this value.
Best vegetarian food in the city of Toronto. Affordable, ethical, tasty, served with care and love.
Nice vegetation menu, samosas and pakoras:)
Love the food. Costumer service is like the best, I've never seen such good service
Love it!
Authentic, just like home made Indian vegetarian, simple ingredients food without any coloring or artificial flavoring.

Excellent and very helpful service. The atmosphere is very welcoming and serene. The food was very delicious and included appetizer, main and dessert for a great price! It's hard to find such wonderful vegetarian meals in Toronto and this place is definitely a must try!
