Absolutely delicious pizza, one of the top that we have enjoyed in the soo! Clean place and friendly staff. Well done! We will be back soon to try more ♡
Such a welcoming place..... Love the decor and the food keeps us coming back for more...... Comfort food has been much required and much appreciated! Thanks Uncle Gino????
Food was just excellent. Service great. Small and cozy.
Ordered the Buffalo wrap. The first time it was to die for… 2 large chicken strips tossed in Buffalo sauce, lots of bacon. Just an all around good wrap. As I continue to order the wrap sometimes twice in a week it has progressively gotten worse to the point where this last time the 2 chicken “strips” were the size of 2 McDonald’s nuggets and there was maybe a pea size of sauce put in the whole wrap now just stuffed with extra lettuce. Stopped ordering the fries as every time they were different so I get the side Cesar. That is when they give me the right salad and not something else. Hard to find good quality food that is consistent in this city and unfortunately keep getting let down.
Great food, the spinach dip was very nice and they have a great arrabiata. Good price. Surprisingly large servings! And very considerate staff with takeout and restrictions
Pizza dough was uncooked. Delivery guy did not call upon delivery and just left the box at reception of the hotel . I was trying to track down the pizza for over an hour and it was just sitting in the lobby . 46$ for one pizza and a box of wings that were cold, and frankly I could make a better pizza myself . In total it took over 3 hours to receive it
Very good food with a welcoming atmosphere. We went for breakfast and had some delicious meals. The food came out very quickly which was great.
A good place to eat, friendly staff, and very good food, resonable prices. There are not many places to eat breakfast in the Soo on a Sunday morning . This place is clean and inviting. We drove all around the city before we found it.
My favourite place to stop when I'm in the Soo!!!!
Second best Italian I've ever had ( My moms #1 ) Awesome portion size great price all fresh ingredients. I'm so in love this place !!! Nice atmosphere laid back casual fireplace kick back try to finish your incredible meal have a drink just can't wait to come back. Homemade gnocchi for 15$ unreal!!! Love it
Pizza worse than the average. As I spent my quarantine going through all the places in the Soo that sold deliverable pizza I was struck at how 'restaurant' places that give themselves off a professional air made worse pizza then dominoes. Maybe it was the blander sauce, or maybe it was the slightly overcooked crust- but it was just reminding me 'wow, I wished I ordered something else' the whole time. I assume the other food was decent, else nobody would go there. Or maybe it as just an off day- I hope it was.
Ordered takeout and it was great! Food was hot, big portions and the prices are very reasonable! Olivia was fast and friendly and the restaurant was very clean and decorated nicely! Will be back!
Absolutely amazing Chicken Burger and Fries! The Cheesecake, OMG!!!! SO AMAZING! I was more then happy to support this small business! Keep up the great work y'all! Amazing food!
Great food, but terrible customer service. I ordered off Uber Eats and did not receive my side soup. When I called the restaurant, I was told to either “come get it” or “get a store credit”. If I paid for delivery, maybe there’s a reason I couldn’t just “come get it”. I obviously took the store credit, but why not just send the food that was missed? I also wouldn’t reasonably expect their staff will remember it. For a $3 credit I just won’t order again.
Excellent food and service! Always a pleasure to visit, especially after the long lock down!
Girlfriend and I decided to come here for dinner tonight, hindsight would later teach us that we had made a poor decision. MY girlfriend has Celiac Disease and we thought we were in luck when we read the menu and there was a note that said all entrees could be made gluten free. She decided to order the Chicken Piccata and made it clear to the waitress that it needed to be gluten free, which the waitress showed us she had made a note of on our order. When our dinner arrived my girlfriend had gluten free corn pasta and a breaded piece of chicken. When we asked the waitress about this she went to double check with the kitchen and came back to assure us that it was only bread crumbs and it was ok to eat. We explained the situation to the waitress and she promptly removed the meal and said she would have it replaced. A few minutes later the waitress returned with a bowl of pasta for my girlfriend to eat and told us that a unbreaded piece of chicken would follow shortly. Upon inspection of the pasta and taste tests by both myself and my girlfriend it was evident that the pasta they had sent out was not gluten free. MY girlfriend promptly returned it to the kitchen and asked that they not bother with the rest of her order as she had now lost all faith in their ability to provide a gluten free meal as promised. Upon cancellation of the order we were visited at our table by the owner/cook who had prepared the meal, holding a unopened box of gluten free pasta, and assured that the pasta she had just served was the same kind. We explained to her that we did not trust her and we did not wish for her too make anything else for us. The owner swore again that it was gluten free and that she, the same woman who had sent out a piece of breaded chicken for a gluten free meal, had cooked it herself and she knew the difference. She then proceeded to tell us several times that she would not remove the meal from the bill despite the fact that no one had actually asked her to do that and that she had made it wrong twice. Not wishing to cause anymore of a scene we simply got up, paid our bill and left. I am not really sure where it all went wrong. Perhaps the cook was misinformed twice in a row some how or possibly she simply lacked the knowledge to understand what gluten free means. Maybe it was just apathy coupled with a lack of humility on the owner and staffs part that caused an incorrect and potentially harmful meal to be turned out that clearly no one was willing to accept responsibility for. The waitress did apologize to us for the owners reaction on the way out but sadly it is too little to late. I cannot bring myself to dine at this establishment again and I seriously recommend any one with a gluten allergy to avoid it at all costs. Mistakes I can understand and forgive, we are all human after all, the hubris however I will not forget.
The food here was amazing, would highly recommend coming here with the whole family! Ordered the gnocchi alfredo and it was to die for. Definitely am going to come back for more!
Not happy! They call me saying The pizza was ready I get there and the pizza was under done and they forgot a topping. The topping was pineapple. They took the pizza back and then add raw warm pineapple to it. I am pretty sure they micowaved the pineapple. And still left it under done. Not only that it cost 27.06 for LX 3 topping pizza. You can order the same pizza from Gino's for 17.49 with 3 topping before taxes. I won't be going back to Uncle Ginos never again.
My boyfriend and I went here tonight for dinner. I have celiac disease and was very excited when I read on the menu that all entrees could be ordered gluten free. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE CELIAC OR A GLUTEN INTOLERANCE!!! My order was messed up twice, even after the waitress made sure to write GLUTEN FREE clearly on the order for the cook. After sending my meal back for the second time, I cancelled my order. The cook/ owner very rudely refused to take it off the bill even though I did not request it be removed at this point. We paid our bill and left. I can assure you that I will not be returning. As a restaurant owner or waiter/waitress, there should be a significant amount of knowledge of food allergies/ diseases/ intolerances. Clearly the staff at this establishment is lacking this much needed knowledge and any form of customer service skills.
Recently moved back to the area and craving some home cooked comfort food. The gnocchi and meatballs were delicious!!!
I haven't had this restaurant's food for years, just due to moving and not having acess to easy transportation. I was extremely excited to see you on uber eats. My God! You're soup is THE BEST I have ever had and I was sooo happy and excited to discover your chicken alfredo tastes the same from when I was younger. I missed your food and will be a regular again. Your panzos are a huge hit with my kids and now they demand to only order from you, I give you 10 stars and all my appreciation for keeping things the same.

Absolutely Brutal Service this past Sunday May 7th 2017. I waited 12 minutes just to be acknowledged, and when the server did come to my table she looked very annoyed and miserable. No "Good morning how are you" ..just "can I get you a coffee?" and I don't even drink coffee. It was NOT busy there was NO excuse and her attitude was terrible. She proceeded to take other table orders ahead of ours and not once did she come over & ask if everything was ok. Also there where 3 of us and only 2 meals came out the 3rd was forgotten and had to wait another 10 minutes. I will NEVER ever go back. They seriously need MUCH nicer friendly staff. I think this woman needs to retire who ever she was!!
Excellent! Huge omelet! Restaurant is absolutely gorgeous!
The food was excellent! You must try the Italian beef sandwich! Always a favourite. The ribs were fall off the bone and the pasta was tender and delicious!
Lovely casual atmosphere. Delicious food. Good service ... waitress was wonderful. What's not to like? All good ... we'll be returning for more!
Chelsey was a very helpful friendly server. I had the best latte ever. The fried perogies were incredible. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo, which was good but the sauce was a little too salted and herby for my liking, my boyfriend however said it was the best alfredo sauce he's ever had. The penne pasta with bolognese sauce and meatballs was excellent too. Really liked the garlic toast as well. Friendly atmosphere, very clean (clean restrooms too), definitely would recommend this place.
I recently used their take out/delivery service. The food was fabulous! It arrived very speedily and most importantly was still nice and hot! I will most definitely be ordering from here again soon ????
This is our favourite place for breakfast. Many different choices. The omelets are delicious. The service is always spot on.
Service
Amazing well made Italian food. Great service.
I ordered the bruschetta fettuccine and it was fantastic! The pasta was homemade and perfect and the flavours were amazing! Would definitely order again and again.
Went to Uncle Gino's for dinner one Thursday evening with a group of friends before heading to the Esquire; overall it was alright. The server was very friendly and attentive considering how busy the restaurant was, so props to her. Also the interior of he restaurant was really nice; clearly it's been upgraded recently. The food, however, was hit an miss for the group. The appetizers were really well done, in particular the bruschetta was on point. I went for the gnocci which were good but mountainous compared to everyone else's meal. Not usually a complaint but it just seemed strangely too much. The daily special was (I believe) cannelloni, which one of our group ordered. Unfortunately this was the complete opposite of the aforementioned gargantuan gnocci serving; with our friend being finished his meal 15 minutes before he rest of us. Finally two of our group had the risotto which we agreed was very average and lacked anything to elevate it above salty-cheesy-soggy rice. Granted, those are likely the adjectives used for a typical risotto, this one just wasn't special. Price was relative to above; the cannelloni was way over priced due to the small portion and the risotto was fairly expensive considering it's mediocrity. The gnocci seemed about right though. Hopefully that's not the best Uncle Gino has to offer. Overall an average meal with random portion sizes and a fairly lofty bill. On a side note: I am told that their breakfasts and panzarottis are their best options.
Ordered panzo as take out, pretty good, little doughy but at least real bacon on the inside. Would order again, just recommend ordering extra sauce as they only give you a tiny container and with the extra dough, more dipping required!
This is an update to my review from a few years ago. There have been several improvements since then, and our family enjoys regularly eating at Uncle Gino's.The renovated restaurant is comfortable and inviting! Service was great quick and friendly! They are willing to adjust their menue to personalize your request! It is handicap friendly: parking, ramp for entrance, and bathroom!
Very disappointing. 3 specials and a burger took one hour after asking server what was . happening..we were 1st customers w 5:15 reservation bc some family like an early dinner..others who arrived after us ate and left b4 we were served..tho we ordered a burger and 3 rib specials. Nothing time consuming or sensitive. My pasta w ribs had obviously been under heat ligbts a long while.. No apology or offer of drinks etc while we waited. When ribs arrived tasted like cheapest cut w nothing better than Kraft barb q sauce. Never again..I usually tip at least 20%..having grown up in restaurant business

Uncle Gino's has become our new favorite place to eat for a girls night out. Great wine, the food is always excellent and the service is always great. It's nicely renovated and clean, the staff is friendly and service is generally quite fast with excellent food. Has some of the best risotto in down...it's one of my favorite dishes there.
