I loved it. Jalapeño Jack burger was great, tacos were great, and the chocolate milkshake I had was also amazing. Double patties to make it 8oz but you can always make your own 4oz one instead. Service was great and super friendly as well. This would be a go to burger place if I lived near it

So myself & My family are traveling, we roll into town at 10:50pm on Sunday evening. Everyone is hungry everywhere is closed or closing soon, then Bam we were recommended this Place & Our lives Changed forever! We sit down, our waiter, Charlie only 3 shifts in amazing character was polite, Promt & overall Amazing. The bartender/Chef/waiter sorry I couldn't see what you did or caught your name. (big booth corner). He lets us know they are closing soon,but stayed an extra 10 minutes for us, but lets us know we can order something still and that's when our lives changed! Doughnut burger was a real burger Patty with real cheese, the bacon, thick cooked perfectly, the doughnut glazed on top tasted like a real one it was the best burger I've had I'm not big on burgers but will definitely come back to this over and over again! The kids, chicken strip meal were real chicken, fries were great the chicken strip corners were a little hard, but that could also be because we had someone with a loose tooth. Dons burger coming from a teenager perfect, the texture, the taste, the portion perfect, tasted amazing! Hawaiian Tropical right mix a little less ice perfect. Chicken tacos, great not hard perfect flavors and combination of items. The Guy who we didn't get his name Taught my sons a different lesson those he taught them Compassion, Kindness, Respect, Responsibility, something I & my boys are passionate about. A couple down on their luck came in, my youngest still learning about life says they looked like they could use a hot meal & some love and that's what that man gave them. I don't know if they paid as they left after us, but the respect & upbeat attitude he gave mad respect to you! To the owner your food, hospitality and staff were a blessing and amazing! I wish more people had all 3 and still cared about Humanity the way you guys do. I would have loved to pay for the couple's meal, so if you start a program to help others out, let us know we will come back and honor that! Oh my youngest also says love the bathroom signs (clean) bathrooms Thank you for the amazing meal conversation and lessons! The family that showed u their Facebook live video about the bad road! ????

I had the signature "Burger Don" and a local beer. The beer was great! The burger was underwhelming and I'm still trying to figure out how they made it tasteless. The best part about the frozen fries was the aioli to dip it in. I've been to a lot of great burger joints in Miami, Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, Nashville, and LA. Sadly, a Whopper would have been a better choice tonight. There are better places to eat in the Soo.

Was craving a delicious juicy burger and they delivered! For their price point you got a good portion size and they have a nice atmosphere. I will definitely be back, but just maybe with a sweater because in winter with the windows it's a bit chilly.

Ordered fish tacos with Caesar salad. The pico de gallo and slaw did not taste fresh, but tasted like they were made a couple days ago. The Caesar salad was limp and croutons were stale. Beer was good though!

Burgerdon is hands down the best place in town for an amazing mouthwatering burger, onion rings are ????, and there conqueso and all there apps are amazing, if your passing through the soo you have to eat here. Staff is awesome and friendly, also a good selection of craft beers......you'll be thanking me after your visit

We had take out and the service was great. Took my order and walked it out to my truck in the parking lot. Burger was excellent and the poutine was ok. Could stand some more fries in poutine. Giant take out container and didnt fill it so I felt I wasn't given enough. Although it was all filling.

Really great burgers and service. A few craft beers and drinks. It's a small dining area so expect a short wait especially for larger groups. Definately worth the visit while in SOO... One of their signature meals is a glazed doughnut burger. Quite a novelty simply a delicious combination of sweetness and salty ness. The service was excellent, the staff was attentive and prompt, the food came out well prepared and delicious. Expect a short wait time during peak hours. I understand that the price point is a little higher than your average burger joint. Well worth the extra money. The servings are plentiful and most times you can expect to have a take-home box. We don’t live in the area but make it a regular place to stop when we’re passing through. They also have several other restaurants in the area which are owned by the same company.

Was really unimpressed, everyone in the group was disappointed with their food. The slaw they use isn't anything like any other slaw I've tasted (in a bad way) and certainly didn't suit the fried chicken burger I had nor the hotdog my sister had. The chicken itself was meh, so was the caesar salad. The fries and onion rings were alright, but nothing special or memorable. Essentially, everything is hovering around average and I honestly think fast food would be more worthwhile, taste wise. The staff was friendly, but didn't wow me, the decor is alright, but not memorable in any way. They have a decent craft beer selection compared to other restaurants in the area. Overall, there's nothing to go out of your way for here.

Ordered for pick up and had a great experience! They even helped me bring the food to my car as I had my baby with me in the carseat. Burger tasted amazing with lots of flavour however they only had small sized takeout cups for pop.

Loved the menu. My last link date was yummy! a My burger was not overcooked. It had a toasted bun cheese and Maplewood bacon , ???? with it. It was great taste. The wait staff was quick with our drinks and was courteous. I felt at home sitting at tge bar seats during lunch @ the burger don! I'll choose this place I we fast food always. The price was 13.00 for my meal. No complaints here! This restaurant is worth checking out

The food and drinks were amazing. However, the menu is a bit lacking in food options that just make you want to order them all. Although they make up for that, with the food being cooked to perfection. The drinks were well balanced I tried the Oreo milkshake from the cocktail menu and it was spot on. The burger patties were cooked to perfection and unlike most Canadian restaurants they were not over done , personally I like the option to choose the doneness of my burger (like in the states) and even tho this wasn't an option, the burger was cooked perfectly and the cut of beef used for the ground is deffinitly of top quality . Great loaded fries and Amazing to die for spiked shakes. I had the nutella with Bailey's and surprisingly a chocolate chip cookie on top. The onion rings were the best I've ever had. Thick. Perfectly crispy with a crust unlike any other. Finally the Don Burger was an awesome burger. One of the best places I've ever eaten. Even the service was great, with a great waitress toboot. Unfortunately from out of town, but I would drive or fly back just to eat here.

This place has one of the best burgers I have ever had. We tried the jalapeno jack burger and the doughnut burger. The jalapeno jack burger was amazing, the beef is heavenly the bacon aoili sauce is to die for. The doughnut burger is pretty good but it's way too sweet to eat a whole one. If you are with someone else try to split this burger. It is a great idea and definitely something you should try but if you are here for only one burger definitely have the jalapeno jack burger. The baby spinach salad is a great side for any burger.

If you like a great Burger and fries with a cold beer. Then this is a place for you. We had dinner here this week and it was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the atmosphere as well. We had two different types of local craft beers and loved them both. You can’t go wrong if you eat here.

We really enjoyed our meal of fish tacos at Burger Don; the fixings and pico de gallo were quite tasty. The service was friendly and efficient when we were there; it wasn't crowded at the time. Decor is attractive and the ambience was good, but the area we sat in (high table and chairs near the wall) could have used a bit more thorough sweeping. Servers are too busy and I got my dinner late. I ordered Greek salad but most of it was onion. I think they have to change its name to Onion salad.

We have been going to Burger Don since it opened, the whole menu was great from the burgers, to the tacos, fries, onion rings and the salads. The last three times I have went the quality of the food is comparable to fast food, the fries are soggy, the salad is wilty, the tacos are terrible, all you taste is grease in the fish tacos and the burger are 50 % of what they use to be, I just wonder why would you do this if customer satisfaction is a priority, last time I will waste my money, such a shame

Terrible service, me and my mother ordered takeout for 2 and i can assure you she pressed the right buttons and they gave us bacon mayo, the person doing service was very rude too. We also asked if we could get another takeout for 2 for free. They were very impolite and didnt care that our burger was messed up and my mom also politely asked to speak to the manager.

Could be the best burger place I have ever tried. Juicy homemade beef patty, choice of bun includes brioche, sesame or a donut. Also chicken, lamb or veg. The vegetarian patty is a battered portobello and it was as tasty as any meat filled burger would be. Homemade onion ring and handcut fries were expertly done and served with house bacon aioli . Server was fast and friendly too.

Burger Don is a decent at best location offering decent food, but nothing exceptional. A lot of their options are over complicated and it seems the emphasis is less on making a quality burger, but making a unique burger. Which is not a bad quality, but it does leave room for improvement. Service has always been exemplary when dining in, with staff being courteous and welcoming. A hopeful location that will improve over the years.

Really enjoyed this place, our server was awesome even though we showed up fairly late at night. $6 mini-pipe special on Mill St. is a great deal and when I asked the server for a recommendation she told me what she orders which was a modified menu item and it turned out to be an amazing meal! Jesse is the best server/bartender I have met in a long time. Terrific burgers. Homemade patties, nothing frozen. One of the best burgers you will find literally anywhere. It's a former Tim Hortons but they've done a great job with the interior and while small, it fits with the theme. The prices were surprisingly reasonable and Jesse and the rest of the servers are prompt, professional and seem to genuinely love their jobs. As someone else said "run, don't walk to the burger don. You won't be disappointed

Burgers were very good and staff were very helpful (we were on a time limit and they really helped us out) The only thing avoiding the 5 stars was the cost. While the food was good, 2 beer, 2 burgers with sweet potato fries was over $60. Just a warning if you plan on going.

Food was exceptional, finished our plates but really could eat no more. Got the hangover burger and Ceasar drink combo, good value compared to buying separate. Our waitress left a lot to be desired. When bringing our drinks she spilled my whole pop on the table and me. Her first concern was my cell phone, then proceeded to tell us she was having a bad day. Next she "joked" that I was lucky that it was not my wife's alcoholic drink because that would be sticky... um hello, pop is very sticky. She proceeded to bring napkins to wipe up the mess. Not once did she ask if I was ok. I went and cleaned up in the bathroom while she mopped the floor around our table. We then had to ask for a wet cloth to wipe our table, it WAS sticky. During all this our waitress loudly told her co-workers that she was having a bad day, the whole restaurant heard, not professional at all. Our meal was uneventful and as mentioned very tasty, we enjoyed it. Unfortunately because of the spilled drink our order got delayed while she asked one of her co-workers to get 2 other tables orders that came in after us, once again not professional! When we were about 2/3 done our dinner she finally came by the table to make sure our meal was satisfactory, (it was), but kinda late to be asking, also we had to wait this long to be able to order another drink for my wife and son, not professional! When the bill came, surprise, surprise, no offer of compensation maybe 1/2 price for my meal, or a free desert, not even an second apology, "hey I'm really sorry about dumping the drink earlier". 13 months ago I was in Sault Ste Marie to help move my son back home after he completed his studies in the Aviation program and attained his Commercial Pilot credentials. Over his 3+ years in the Sault, I have heard him many times commenting very favourably about the burgers at The Burger Don. Well, I had to experience it myself, so we went there for dinner and I have to say that I had the absolute best burger I have ever had, period! (For the record, I had the Jalapeno Jack burger.) The fries were superb as well: the perfectly crisped outside with a perfectly cooked inside. Tonight, we were in the Sault again, staying overnight driving from Thunder Bay to the GTA. We made the pilgrimage to The Burger Don, and once again experienced the best burger ever...yes, I had the Jalapeno Jack again! Thanks again for continuing to craft burger perfection!... keep the faith...

Can get a little crowded due to the small establishment but great atmosphere. I'd pick the mojito over the Margarita every day if the week! We shared shredded chicken tacos (delicious) and the slider app. I am not a sliders person but these were top notch! We got the chicken, veggie and 2 Don burger. All were absolutely fantastic in their own ways. High quality food and ingredients.

Try getting a mix of onion rings (best ever) with their perfect fries. So glad they added a black bean burger to the menu, but the portobello is still my fave! We have eaten here a few times and was always satisfied. I find it hard to justify spending $30 or $50 on one night's meal but once in a while we still do it. The burgers are great and so are the chili cheese fries. The waitresses are really good. They are quick and attentive. Neither I nor my husband realized it until we were preparing to cross the border. THANKFULLY, Taylor, our waitress, saw it and put the bag up. Another staff member was concerned that it was under the bar so he/she had it put in the safe. Thank both of you for saving us considerable misery. Everything was good except my meal. Ordered a burger on a gluten free bun and after taking the first bite I knew it was too good to be true. Asked the staff about my bun and was told it actually wasn’t gluten free... and that they would fix... they took my burger and just changed buns instead of making new (could tell because the patty still had my bite mark in it) which doesn’t really solve the issue. I know cross contamination is a thing and it happens but that is a little ridiculous.

Where to even begin ? Burger Don was the first spot I tried when I moved to the Soo two years ago and it was an instant connection. Love at first sight. Call it what you will but it started me off on a tangent of burger cravings I still can't satisfy. Not just any burger however it can only be from Burger Don. I am a burger coniseuer and try them everywhere I go. I can confidently say this is the best burger I have ever had out of hundreds of restaurants. From take out, to sit in the service is excellent, but the food. The food says it all. Thick, juicy, quarter pound beef patty, but oh wait whats that ? 2 patties. Succulent, always crisp lettuce as if they have a green lettuce garden in the back, and this invention of shredded pickle elevates it to a new level that I just can't handle. Placed between the soft, toasted mana they call a brioche bun sets the tone. The choice of cheese, and toppings if you build your own burger as well as their delicious crisp, yet soft fries is unlike any other. Just when you think your wallet and arteries are safe, you see "deep fried cheese curds" and you think to yourself, "I'm willing to die tonight for greatness, we're here for a good time not a long time". These beautiful golden babies come served in a angelic white ceramic bed with the most flavourful, delicious creamy bacon aioli that has ever graced your tongue. If you're from town and you haven't had Burger Don, go. If you're in town visiting, they offer great take-out or sit-in deals and the food is ready fast without altering their quality. I strongly advocate for this place on the daily around the College, and everyone agrees. Greatness Lives Here.

The deep fried cheese curds were amazing & I am not a dipping sauce person, but I liked it. The burger sure hit the spot. Highly recommend this place.

Went here for lunch today and we had Royale With Cheese burgers, I had mine bunless with side ceasar salad and my bf had his with onion rings. It was freaking amazing! Prosciutto instead of bacon on a caesar salad was something I've never seen and bam, on point! The waitress was great and they had some great large draft beer special going on. Will def be back soon! We were both blown away with everything!

My partner and I did a takeout order as our hotel was very close to the restaurant. We ordered online and picked it up hot and fresh, 15 minutes later. Everything was so delicious. Big fan of the 'smash Burger' type patty (thinner, crispy edges) and the poutine was huge and so delicious!! Will definitely visit again if we are ever in the area again.

This is one of the select few stellar restaurants in the Sault. There is a pub-style feel to the atmosphere and the mood of the restaurant, with cheeky references to Pulp Fiction (Royale with Cheese, anyone?). Do not be deterred by the prices, the tasty burgers and ample portions of fries and onion rings will make the extra dollar worth spending. Parking can be tight, as well as the line-up for a seat, so do make a reservation if possible. Recommendations: 1) Build Your Own Burger: for the fussy eaters and hungry minds alike, this option lets you pick your own combinations of toppings. 2) The Hangover Cure: a great burger that satisfies a big appetite, it is one of the biggest and best burgers in the restaurant.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with The Burger Don - and I didn't even have a burger! I had the whitefish tacos on lettuce wraps and they were mouthwatering good. Huge portions of food to leave you feeling satisfied. Other people around us were having burgers and they look dynamite - will have to go back soon for one.

NO JOKE...I didn't think anything of it when I ordered but the FIRST BITE...I realized my life had changed..this is excellent...its perfect the garlic aioili ????! Also what I LOVED is when I finished I didn't feel that nasty bloated overly full feeling..I felt the portion size of the patty was perfect! I don't know but these burgers taste like they were made by very talented cooks who genuinely want people to experience something more than "eating a burger"

This place owns burgers. Royale with cheese is sick good!!! The magic is in the silence. Our party of 3 walk in at 6pm on a Friday night. The place is full and loud. About 10 minutes later a wave of orders come from the kitchen. The dining room becomes silent. Everyone is mowing down. awesome

On our drive from Saskatoon to Toronto to visit my parents, my little family stopped in for dinner. I'm glad we did! My husband and I both had the Jalapeno Jack burger, and there was lots to share with our one year-old. Our server (didn't catch their name, but tall with dark, slick back hair) was so incredibly kind and engaging. The food was very tasty and so quick. Thanks for the great dinner!

I was intrigued about this place way before our trip through town and it didn’t disappoint. The fried cheese curds were awesome. The donut burger was a tasty bomb with a nice combo of sweet and savory. The poutine on the side was pretty good but not perfect. The waiter made great suggestions and was very friendly. I would return if I were intown without a doubt.

Fast service and incredible food at amazing prices, but the staff weren't the most friendly. We were being served by the bartender who seemed to be more interested in giving a good experience to the locals than two racialized tourists (even though he seemed to be from out of town as well). Only started being friendly when we were about to pay and tip. Should be more consistent.

This is definitely my favourite restaurant ever. I tried the donut burger because I was intrigued and I would highly recommend. Definitely a really good burger. The menu was beautifully sized and the atmosphere was very nice. The next time I’m in Sault Ste Marie, I’ll be back for sure!
