We came to this restaurant through google reviews without making any reservations on Friday night. Lucky us to have an open table for 2, we were served by beautiful lovely Lady, Macy, that made are dinner enjoyable as she recommended our main dish. Nice atmosphere, elegant and welcoming restaurant Superb dishes, portion and taste Definitely will come back again when we're in the area.

I like this Resturant. Waitress is friendly and attentive. Foods are amazing. Escargot and mussels are perfect appetizers. Mushroom Risotto and fettuccine could be better, but overall is good.

Our meal here was delicious!! We were only in Sault Ste Marie for one night and we were so happy to end up here! My husband devoured his fettuccini alfredo and my puttanesca was so tasty (a great recommendation from our waiter)!

Went over last Tuesday unfortunately there was a blackout almost immediately as we sat down, figured we'd come back in a few days when we were in town next. Tried to go tonight, and the parking lot was full, checked and they thankfully do take out orders! Portion sizes were excellent (My MIL will have her risotto for at least 3 meals). The tortellini, ravioli (huge pieces!) and arancini were delicious. Managed to make it home still hot. Bread & salad were also decent, two nice hunks of bread, good enough portion on the side salad (even though I really just wanted the arancini & cheese). When we were there and on the phone the servers were very nice.

Place was very busy but we were seated right away. Food came out quickly and it was delicious. I had the Tour of Italy and my date had the Lasagna. Huge servings ???? Service was great! Cant wait to come back again.

First time here, it was nice. The atmosphere was acceptable and the food was good. I found that the menu was large, so I would recommend condensing the menu so that visitors don't get too overwhelmed. The nightly specials were a nice touch.

One of my favorite places to eat when I'm in town. Favorite two dishes are the Veal Roma and the Penne Portobello. Couldn't decide which I wanted so the waitress suggested doing the best of both. Ordered the Veal Roma and had the Penne Portobello minus the chicken as the accompaniment.

Best guarded secret in Sault-Ste-Marie. If we did not ask our concierge, we would have never known about this place. In my opinion, this is really the best place to dine in this area if you are in search of Italian cuisine. As soon as you walk through the front door at Giovanni's, you are greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. The next thing you may notice is the cake display, which sports a wide variety of deserts, which all seem more appetizing than the others. Once seated, you will be served a glass of ice cold water and a bread basket. At this point, I found that the professionalism of the entire team is obvious, as the place is buzzing and everyone's needs are attended to (it can seat over 200 guests). This time around, I had the veal cutlet special, that was served with roasted portobello mushrooms and red peppers, and served with a risotto a la Milanese. My wife had a salmon filet with mango salsa and a side of pasta. The ids had the lasagna from the kids menu. Every meal was perfectly cooked and delicious. Moreover, if you do not opt for a full bottle, I recommend that you go with a glass of their house wine, as they are of a respectable size and offered at a reasonable price. If I have not convincing you to go and eat there by now, I never will. But rest assured, that I will be going back everytime that I drive through this city.

WOW! Absolutely delicious. We are passing through Sault Ste. Marie and ordered dinner from Giovanni's. The food arrived promptly, hot and so incredibly delicious. The food portions are big and all 5 of us enjoyed our meals. I'm sad we don't live here because we will surely be craving Giovanni's in the near future! Thank you for the delicious meal, 5/5 stars in our books!

Yummy yummy in my tummy. First off the service was fast and friendly. Staff worked hard and greeted us well. Food was delicious and servings were huge. I had left overs because I could not finish. Prices are good for the quality of restaurant.

What a wonderful experience we had at Giovanni's! It began by being greeted very warmly by Lena herself who, by the way, makes the best homemade cherry cheesecake! Following this our waiter Larry and waitress Melissa guided us through the process of experiencing the most appetizing lunch and dinner that complemented our palettes to perfection. We highly recommend Giovanni's restaurant and fine dining with its family feel atmosphere by making us feel like we never left home from the first bite. Thank you Lena and staff! BTW: My compliments to the chef...lol!

Don't bother with the menu (although everything is great), just order the Tour of Italy. A mix of everything (gnocchi, tortellini, ravioli and meatballs). Best thing ever!

???? hello..my buddy and I had just arrived for an overnight in the Sault..we called ahead and spoke to Morra...I hope I spelt her name correctly...res. for 2 please...no problem please come in I will make sure you get seated...She did...we were served by Melissa....Excellent service! Bellissima...the food was as I expected it to be...the pasta was AL Dente...the sauce spicy as ordered...Morra even came by to make sure that all was good...thank you ladies for making a great meal even better. We will be back!

Terrible food and Service. Save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere that provides good quality food. We took our family to this restaurant while in the Sault and it was such a let down. Their sauce was watery and flavor was bland. Will not return upon our future visits to Sault Ste Marie. Such a disappointing dinner. Our waitress Macy was a bit too high strung and not very welcoming.we were expecting a good meal but not at all the experience.

Came in with moderate expectations. We were met at the reception with a smile (could even see it through the mask) and were seated promptly even though it was a Saturday evening at 18:00. Within a few minutes our waiter came and took our drink orders which showed up at the table within a few minutes. Our order was promptly taken and the salads showed up 2 or 3 minutes later. Good size plate of salad, fresh and crisp. The appetizers, mozza sticks, were piping hot and not greasy at all, just the way they should be. For an appetizer the portion was large. When the main meals came, I was actually amazed at the size of the portions. The kids pasta meals were the size of what would be an adult meal at many other restaurants. The adult meal portions were bigger than I have seen in a very long time. The food was hot and delicious. My portion of portabello penne pasta had at least one full grilled chicken breast, tons of mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. I am a big water and the meal was plentiful. As for taste, some of the best food we have had in a long time. Service was awesome and prompt. Atmosphere was great. Restaurant was spotless with a very nice decor. If you are passing through Sault Ste Marie, this place is a must for dinner.

Ordered the pork/beef stuffed noodle soup. The broth was excellent as well as the noodles. Had the veal parmigiana with fettuccine alfredo for entree. Large portion and very tasty. The tiramisu was for dessert. Was not a fan, a little dry and bitter for my liking. My server was great and food came out fast.

Very satisfied with our meal tonight for a family of 6 it’s very rare I’m able to order out and have 0 complaints but tonight was just that very good the reviews don’t lie I highly recommend if your looking for quality food and don’t mind paying for it I fed all 6 of us for$ 100 and feel the value was there will be back 100% and recommend for anyone to give a try service was good and fast considering it was quite busy we even got takeout and it was great not many restaurants keep the quality in the takeout But this was spot on ????????????

Save your romantic dinner for 2 and your $100. Service was good but food was absolutely disgraceful. My boyfriend ordered fettuccine Alfredo with a choice of meat (chicken, shrimp, or sausage) he chose sausage and it was literally a whole sausage on the side of his plate, like it was just thrown on there. He had to cut it into pieces himself. The Alfredo sauce was also bland af. I ordered the risotto with chicken. Almost equally horrible only at least they roughly chopped the super dry and unseasoned chicken into random weird and inconsistent chunks which I also had to cut down myself. I suspect some pieces were days old and incorporated in with "fresher" chicken to save, but was jerky-like. We both took it to go (to be nice to the waitress cuz she was nice and wasn't her fault) but thrown out as soon as we got home. So incredibly disappointed since it cost $100 for two for the worst meal we both ever had. My 13 yr old son can cook better. Service and beer was good. That's it. Will never return. Not authentic at all. Shameful to say the least to all Italian cuisine. I'd be embarrassed to serve that to my dogs. Go to Embers instead! Never disappointed and authentic fresh food.

Absolutely love the risotto here. Having been to Italy, it is up there in quality. The portions are also the biggest I have ever seen for local restaurants. Service was super friendly here too, we absolutely loved her. Definitely a good surprise.

We love this place. Our ‘go to’ place whenever we are in the Sault. Our waiter tonight (Patrick) was exceptional as all staff have been in the past. Never a bad experience. My favourite is the Tutto Mare. My husband loves the prime rib. They understand and accommodate gluten allergies

Very nice, beautiful decor ...Pricey menu..dinner was ok..for others with me..but I ordered veal roma... UGH..not good...yuck...waitress was way too chatty trying to score more tips from customers...had to remind her to bring pretty much.... practically everything, napkins, more water...glasses are way too small. . Nice..pricey, ok..if you get decent server.....

We love this place ❤️ They go out of their way for their customers. My mother has celiacs disease which makes it hurt when we go out to restaurants. they had a wide variety of different items that she could order off the menu. They heard it was my husband's birthday so unknowingly they brought out a little treat for him at the end of our meal ???? I give this place a huge sums up and recommend it to anyone!!!

Outstanding top to bottom. Thankfully they had Osso Bucco special on night we were there. It was as good as we experianced anywhere, including Italy, where we enjoyed it last year. The fresh Arribiata pasta also excellent. House wines complimented everything we consumed. Highly recommended, we will definately visit next time in the area, if not perhaps again tonight before we depart tomorrow...... Did return for our last night in town, Veal Picata, and Penne Arribiata for "round 2" as good as first night.

Excellent service and food. The staff was prompt to have our section set up and provided drinks very quickly. Darlene our waitress was amazing with great mannerisms and personality. She let us know the specials and specialties of the restaurant. There were many apps and entrees but all was delivered with precision. The food was delicious and I can see why the restaurant is so popular. If in SSM take the time to stop by. I had the veal parmesan with gnocchi. It was very good and the gnocchi cooked perfectly and very light.
