Here you will see all the reviews of real people who are using the services of Urban Spice Restaurant (Restaurant) in the territory close to Saskatchewan (Canada).
Nowadays this firm has a rating of 4.1 stars over 5 and that score is based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings is very high, and it is founded on a very high number of reviews, so we may be pretty sure that the valuation is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Indian restaurant.
I came here a few weeks back with a friend, right at closing (didn't realize the time). However, the owner went above and beyond - she let us not only order food, but dine in for about an hour past closing (once again, didn't notice the time)! The food was incredible and I really appreciated her thoroughly explaining the menu items to me (I have allergies and sensitivities). Super friendly and good place to chat.
Their south Indian food is the best in town. Highly recommended.
Good South Indian food. One of the few restaurants in Saskatoon to offer good south Indian food. Dosas were really good. Friendly owners and welcoming environment. Usually not a very busy place and if you really want to enjoy nice and quiet ambiance, go and dine in.
Good food, friendly staff. Highly recommend
Food was great but lady serving us did not have any energy and enthusiasm. No complaint for food but customer service is one thing that needs to be improved
Food is very delicious and they are giving well services. They have vary varieties of foods and making well.
Jalebi Fafada combo is so tasty and big portion
Good food and customer service. Clean & hygenic. Highly recommend
Good food..???? next time i will try South Indian food ????
i called them today 5,6 times but no one picked up the call.it was showing that it is opended till 9:30but we went there before 9 .it was closed.that was very dissatisfying.
Chana bhatoora and mango lassi was so delicious.
We came here a while back thinking it would be just another Americanized Indian place but we're pleasantly surprised with the menu! We kept ordering more and more! Everything is delicious and authentic. Hands down the best Indian place in the city. Writing this while coming back for a second go, still just as delicious!
Worst dosa i had in my life. Coconut chutney was just shreded coconut in water and sambar was yellow colored water, no vegetables in it. Dosa was raw. I dont know if the cook is even from south India, because they dont how to cook south Indian food. First time in saskatoon. Worst experience. Wish google had NEGATIVE rating options.
Love this restaurant! Owners are so nice, and the food is delicious. We order butter chicken quite often with rice and garlic naan. Best Indian food in Saskatoon.
Best indian food i've had period! I've been going here for the past several years and the owners are the nicest people as well. Hands down best indian food you'll find in saskatoon.
Best Dosai varities in Saskatoon Side dish also much better compared to other places Reasonable price also All can try once
I love this Indian restaurant so much! The owners are so lovely and very friendly. The food is AMAZING. I love the decor and the plates/saucers/tea cups, etc. I went here for the first time for my friend’s mom’s birthday as she is a regular because she loves it, and now I’m obsessed - it’s now my go to if I want to go out for a meal. It is a bit far away from where I live but for good food, distance doesn’t matter. It has such a home vibe to it, I feel like I’m at a friend’s house for dinner.
Such a bad treatment with skip drivers as they are not humans. Their unprofessional and rude behaviour can be seen in the reply. I have gone to many high end restaurants, they treat everyone equally, not like you. Hope you change your attitude instead of giving me suggestions. AND LEARN SOME MANNERS TOO, IF YOU CAN.
Our server was very kind, atmosphere was very warm, food was delicious! I had the Butter Chicken with rice and Garlic Naan bread. Mmmm mmm mmmm I will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend!!
This is an EXCELLENT family run East Indian restaurant. Lovely decor, very clean, wonderful service and the food is MOUTH WATERING. They have a special oven right on the premises which produces the FRESHEST and TASTIEST garlic and butter naan. After eating there the first time last supper, it is now my go to restaurant for East Indian food????????????????????
Good place great food. Beautifully decorated East indian restaurant. The food is delicious. Service is nice. We ordered A la carte and it was awesome. They have weekdays lunch buffet too. Try it to get the best indian food in town
We were traveling from toronto to edmonton and on our way we stopped at saskatoon. I wasn't sure if I will get Indian food here but I must say, the dosas were just amazing. Loved it.
Awesome Authentic Indian food. Even their "dosa" is best in Saskatoon
We ordered through Doordash, the kadhai paneer and daal tadks were amazing. The flavors were authentic and it all was well blended. We really liked the rice, the basmatic rice were long grained and had nice flavor to them. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Too expensive and the food doesn’t meet the price.
Every dish I’ve tried here has been wonderful but the butter chicken is out of this world. Seriously the best I’ve had anywhere. The staff is incredibly friendly as well. We come here about once a month and they remember us and our preferences. Absolutely wonderful service.
This is the place to go if you're looking for great South Indian food! It is, by far, the best in the city! The family that owns it is just lovely and so friendly. They are very good about catering to food intolerance and preferences. The atmosphere is great as well. My favourite dishes are the idli sambhar, medu vada sambhar, dosa (butter or masala) and don't forget to order a mango lassi with your meal! It is the best mango lassi I've ever had. After 5 years in this city I found this restaurant and I haven't gone to another Indian restaurant since.
Excellent Dosa's! Food is authentic and very well done. This is a family run joint and they care very deeply about what they do. Do not be fooled by the simple interior, the food is very worthwhile and the prices are excellent especially given the quality of the food. Highly recommend!
Really nice take out meal. It was on the spicy side for medium, very flavorful. We'll definitely order from Urban Spice again. The Aloo Gobhi was excellent, the Lamb Pahadi was very tender. The vegetable samosas were on the small side yet really tasty and we'd order them again.
I had the best wild-caught Salmon Tandori that I can imagine. This is a family business where they really care about the food and their customers. The are very well-informed about dietary restrictions and will adjust and adapt for each diner. They perfectly accommodated my request for gluten-free food. Highly recommended!
We were there yesterday evening to have some tea and snacks. Dining in is not recommendable if you have kids who need high chairs which was not clean at all. Restaurant was empty and there was nobody else to greet you and attended for 5 minutes. Then there was a person working with a Fridge, initially I thought he was a service person for the refrigerator bit I think he is the owner. He took the order and i changed my mind to take out after seeing the highchair. There was no chef or anybody to cook. He went inside and started making my order. Tea was not that good, Masala buns were burnt, waiting time was too much, felt bad for wasting my time. Restaurant should understand what customers need, uniforms with name tag is must, Restaurant standards are must, one should identify themselves to a customer in order to serve them. No hairnet, no gloves, no apron he was walking everywhere like it is his home. Totally unprofessional and disappointing. When you open for dine In you should be prepared on which role you are going to work.
Delicious!! Shared the Beef Vindaloo and butter Chicken with sticky rice. Sooo good! Meat was tender and delicious and spice was perfect!! The owner was lovely and we had a wonderful visit with her. Definitely going back.
Their food is delicious best Indian food in Saskatoon and great customer service. definitely recommend. The Biryani is awesome
Wow! What a gem! I was referred to this place by a friend and it's incredible! Tasty food!, great Service and friendly staff! Everything is made on site by the chef it authentic fare with a great selection and a few surprises! Try the salmon OMG it's awesome! Samosas and butter chicken will knock your socks off! I only wish that I could go to this place more often!
We love everything about this restaurant: - scrumptious food - charming owners - informal, friendly atmosphere - bright and cheerful decor - authentic serveware - little touches like fresh flowers at each table - unique details (each table has different water glasses) - can tailor your dish to your individual preferred heat level (mild, medium, or hot) - family owned We highly recommend Urban Spice. Try the Dosa -- it's ridiculously tasty!!!
Food is amazing. Freshly prepared, served, and very tasty. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family.
Very unassuming front for a great meal. Best Indian meal I have ever had. We only ordered dishes we have never had before. The staff were excellent at explaining all the ingredients.
Really bad dosa, not worth your time and money. Quantity and quality both are bad for a masala dosa worth fourteen dollar. No proper filling/stuffing. It's better to eat frozen Udupi brand masala dosa. Sambar was sweet, coconut chutney was watered down grated raw coconut. Vada was hard. I wish Saskatoon had better options for south indian food. If you ever visit Regina, have a craving for dosa I recommend to try Dosa Curry Garden.
A fine place to dine in with family. Decoration was amazing. Food was fine. I liked the samosas over there.
I learnt a lesson yesterday by not going to a restaurant with all good ratings. I went with my family for Father's Day Dinner the service was really bad the server lady was not at all interested in our concerns .. we ordered food and it took 1hr 10mins to come.. we ordered samosas as appetizer's and they were uncooked from inside .. the food was not at all delicious and it didn't taste like punjabi food at all .. the dosa we ordered was really bad and the sambar with it was just water no salt or any spice at all .. I would not recommend going there at all. The service and the food is terrible.
Urban Spice is a unique restaurant that offers varied home-style cuisine. There is something for everyone here: North Indian, South Indian, street food, Hakka, Indian-Chinese. Many options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. They offer items not usually found at Indian restaurants which was a treat for my family (we are of Indian origin). The icing on top was the fresh hot Jalebi that was made to order - every bite was worth the short wait. It is a small family owned business and deserves all the support that can be offered. Thanks for the memorable meal, we will definitely be back.
We have been there once, had a really bad experience. The server was really rude. We ordered an appetizer and when we ordered main course, the server got mad at us, as she said why didn’t we order all at once as she was really busy. I highly recommend them to work on their customer service.
One of my favourite places to go, and pretty much the only place in Saskatoon serving good dosa and idli. I tried these in South India and was hooked, so am very grateful to be able to get my fill here at home. The service has always been great. Mittal is such a friendly face, and together with her husband has done well in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Definitely recommended for a fun and authentic Indian experience!
Excellent food from North and South India. A lot of effort goes into preparation and cooking - they avoid precooking unlike many other restaurants- so go with some time on your hands.
I am not an expert on Indian food but I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, it was good. The naan was also delicious. I liked the atmosphere too...small, family friendly, bright. LOVED the painted Pooh and music scale in the hallway.
Wonderful food.. friendly staff.. can do better on the fried rice.. overall tasty food with good quantity according to the pricing..
Me and my wife tried their masala dosa and idli and it was super delicious. Restaurant was clean and the server was friendly. Over all it was an amazing experience.
Unprofessional, rude and expensive. I do not recommend this place.
Not a great taste. We ordered dosa and was not upto the price the ask for. Less for more price. Not a good experience.
Honestly the best damn butter chicken and naan you will find in Saskatoon. If you've only gone once or twice and you already know this, go back and try something else because their menu is deep with tastes and flavours. I've been going there steady for the past year and I try to eat here at least once a week for their lunch buffet. I work and I don't get much time to stop but with the buffet I can enjoy a delicious meal in such a short time and be back to work with only a 10-15 minute break. This is a great family restaurant and they truly care about their food offerings and service.
The Best ever Garlic Naan Bread, Rice dishes, Buttered Chicken/Lamb, Samosas. We have had several different dishes there in the last several years, and they were most delicious, never disappointed with our Choices. Great Service. Allan/Adeline Gagnon
Rude and unprofessional staff. I wish, I had read recent reviews before going there. Dear owner, this is not your home. Please dress up for work and have a professional attitude. Having your customers wait forever for greetings is not professional either. Very expensive for price and quality. Not recommended. I would recommend restraunt to learn from their reviews instead of making comments back to them. Lost customers may come back along with friend in future despite of bad food; but not with disrespect and rudeness.
This place is simply amazing. I have eaten in and ordered out dozens of times and they are 100% every time. They cater to customers very well, always friendly and most of all they take the time to get to know us and even remember our children. They even gave a small gift to us for our girls :) I would give 10 stars if I could!
One of my favorite places to eat in the city. You can tell how much effort they put into their food. It tastes authentic with the perfect amount of spice. The sambar is amazing! 10/10 and their customer service is great.
Great food, owners are super nice and great value.
Food is fresh and made to order. Takes a little longer than the average retaurant but you pretty much getting a home cooked meal at restaurant grade. Would recommend the dahi puri and the dosa.
I don't know what's wrong with the staff there. They speak very rude. I recently visited there to order food because that restaurant is nearby my work place. When i reached there and a guy from inside came at front and showed me some review on his phone for his restaurant. Actually, that review was given by my work colleague. He had some issue with them. The guy from the restaurant asked me that is that you. I said not. He said does he work at same place as you. I said yes. Then he started behaving rude with me as it was done by me. In last, He said don't come to my restaurant again. Don't you guys know how to treat your customer. And they didn't even make my food better this time. Shame on you guys. Have some professionalism.,,
The food smelled and tasted delicious! The Samosas were incredible. My son and I really enjoyed the lemon rice and beef kahdai. Looking forward to enjoying our next meal from there!
I used to love the dosa at this place. But last week i ordered a dosa and taste was not the same. It was really bad But i thought not to review just for once. Again, i ordered dosa and this week and it was for take out. I went to the restaurant, paid the amount and picked up it. I also told them about last time but they defend themselves with the excuse that they always follow the same recipe. I didn’t feel good about that. They didn’t even said that we will take care from next time. When i came back after picking up my order, there was not two types of chutneys in it which were supposed to be there. I called them and asked for it. This time they said that they will give some extra next time. What the hell i would do extra next time. It was really bad experience. They need some professionalism. In last, don’t try the Chola bhatura. Its quality as not good as price.
I wish i had an option for a zero review. First of all the lady i think she is the owner she is rude and unprofessional. She does not know how to talk to costumers. Secondly, their food tastes like the the same. They use same curry for all the dishes ( both veg and non veg) . And if you complain or tell her that the food is not upto the mark she says every person has their own preferences. She doesn’t even to bother to achnowledge that their might be something wrong with the food. This place has the worst indian food i have ever tried.
