Darnell Stewart

Nice spot with lots of character. A little TLC and this place would be a gem.

Matt Jones

Great food, excellent service and decent prices

Trevor Richardson

If you want diner food? This is your place. It is not fancy. It is delicious. The food is the very opposite of "health food", but if you want some delicious greasy spoon breakfast or some really solid poutine (ask for smoked corned beef on it!), with a milkshake or a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie- this is exactly where you want to go. The staff was friendly and accommodating and I don't think I ever saw the bottom on my coffee mug. This is the Platonic Ideal for a local diner. Five stars all the way!

sepideh shahkarami

Great food, can be very busy but worth the wait.

Caroline Tutakiewicz

Love the atmosphere and the food was great! Definately not my last visit there.

Storm Ironchild

Good food - service can be slightly slow since they seem to often have too few servers for the crowd (no host so the servers cashier as well). Like the laid-back atmosphere, and their breakfasts and prices are just right!

Aurora

The food is excellent. Strongly recommend the beef dip. Service is that small town feel.

Myles Stoesz

Friendly atmosphere, wonderfully cooked meals and great service????????

Brent Hiebert

Great meal. A true diner experience. Wide selection on menu

Kent Pollard

Salmon lox benny's a must with their homemade hollandaise sauce, alongside the fried potatoes with peppers! The Park burger is fantastic w/their own smoked bacon ontop, throw some french fries w/gravy on side for a delicious meal! Their 'Monte' boasts homemade turkey which cant be beat! They make homemade soups everyday, that are so heartwarming and hearty! Friendliest staff going! Memorabilia from 30's,40's & 50's! Cleanest washrooms! Good prices

Jason Campbell

Great breakfast spot. Eggs Beni are top notch. Side fruit cup was awesome too, especially for a diner.

Michelle Butler

Great atmosphere as I was looking for an old school diner for breakfast.

Melissa Jensen

Loved our brunch experience! Great staff, great prices and awesome food!!

Linda Zaback

Visiting SK from Toronto and decided to give this place a try based on 4.2 rating on Google. First 30sec chatting to waitress and we were ready to give it a 5, after the food arrived we would've awarded more if possible. If you're looking for a reasonably priced, 'honest' diner (ie not trying to be a fancy place) with good food and some interesting specials look no further.

Tom Wolf

Good food. Great portion sizes and good service.

Updated Sept 12 / 2016 (I was banned for this review) After reviewing The Park Cafe 2 months ago, my friends and I decided to return and see if things had changed since my last review. (You can read my original review if you scroll down... ) Well, we were greeted at the door by the owner who asked us to step outside where he proceed to tell me i was banned from the restaurant ... "because my review was hurting his business and how he had spent 2 hours trying to have it removed". I did mention he knew how to contact me if he had issues with my review and i was willing to revise it if he thought something in it was unfair. He had no reply to that offer. All i can say about this is - the gospel of small business dictates (A) Listen to what your customers have to say and (B) you're the boss, if your staff is dropping the ball, deal with it. Customers keep the bills paid, not your staff. = Original Review July 5 / 2016 = A visit to the Park Café is what I would call “revisiting a small town, fallen on hard times café”… that for some reason makes you feel comfortable. From the moment you enter the restaurant it’s easy to see not much money is spent on maintaining the decor, made obvious by the poorly repaired ceiling tiles. But that just adds to the lonely forgotten small town feel. However, it has one thing a small town café doesn’t have … super clean washrooms with ample hot water to scrub your hands. If there was an award for consistently clean washrooms, this place deserves it. My friends and I have been regular customers at the Park for about 5 years, once or twice a week, and have never been bitten by a dirty washroom. If you’re looking for good consistent food, this is the place. Although it’s definitely not 5 star dining and has somewhat higher pricing than similar restaurants that have much more “eye appeal”, you won’t be disappointed with what they server. Week to week it always stands up on its own … comfortable, consistent and never pretentious. Just what you would expect if you were back visiting your small hometown café. As for the service, here I have a small issue. As a regular customer for 5 years, lately there has been a noticeable change in the quality of service. What once was stellar service has been compromised as of late. Back in April one waitress said something offensive to my friend’s wife and then made a rude gesture. My friend and his wife have not returned since, for obvious reasons. A few weeks ago I was there with 4 friends and the service was horrid - 20 minutes standing outside, another 20 to have the order taken (in a small half full restaurant). The 5 meals didn’t come at the same time - 12 minutes apart and 3 were cold. Add to that - one coffee refill after over an hour of being there. I mentioned it to one waitress who said “we had a busy week and everyone was tired”. Sorry girls, $90.00 for breakfast??? … Customers expect good service. To be fair, I returned a couple of days later to mention this to the owner, who wasn’t in. I did talk to the female “manager”, but she was rather despondent and showed little to no interest. The good news is I later talked to the owner, the bad news is… he didn’t really comment on my 2 previously mentioned friends who will never return, nor the day we had super bad service. Tip: If you do need a waitress, just walk back to the coffee machine where they spend a lot of time joking and laughing. My observation is this... the food will be good and consistent, the washrooms will always be a welcome stop, but service will depend on whether the staff likes you on the day of your visit. You be the judge. Take the park for a test drive and draw your own conclusions. I like to support local small business owners and I do like the owner and his staff ... but... Update July 6/2016: Female Manager suggests we go to Sami's Sunrise grill if we have issues with the Park Café service.

What a great little place. Many fun antiques to look at, the owner/cook always makes an appearance and makes you feel welcome. The waitresses are always nice, fast, and helpful. If you are having a toss up between Salmon or crab and asparagus Benny, my vote in the salmon, though they are both delicious!! Great work

Empire Barbering & Beauty Co.

We ordered an Eggs Benny take out - the staff was friendly and helpful on the phone. The food was awesome and atmosphere was great, we are definitely coming back for a sit down.

Jonah Konecnik

Easily the best diner in town! Delicious clean food and huge portions.

Zack MacGregor

Amazing food and great people. You HAVE to stop here for breakfast.

Jason Hogan

Brunch this morning: BLT with garden tomatoes for me, beef dip for David. Both incredibly delicious. Patrick and his staff are so great, food is always amazing, in a casual dinner atmosphere. This cafe is a real Saskatoon treasure.

Greg Paul

One of my favourite restaurants in Saskatoon. It's an old school dinner with old school dinner food - and they do it so well. Not a fancy place, actually a little run down, but still a fav

Coach Rogers

Great Monti Cristo and good deals on breakfast Great people too. Good Basic food

Rene Menard

Awesome homemade food, great staff, always a good meal!

Vivisector999

Best steaks in stoon, Can't give it 6 stars but I would. breakfast spot in town. Also Bacon lovers with schinkenspeck is a must try. Eggs Benny aswell. Lots of hipsters but the food offsets all that.

Mehrdad Safaei

Reliable, good home cooking! I love that the owner cooks and is there running the show. Last visit, I got a little history lesson on the past buildings of downtown! I will support this business forever!

Owen Brady

delicious and affordable with excellent staff. great place for breakfast or lunch

Marie MK

The best homemade hollandaise ever. I keep wanting to try other things but can't bring myself to not order an eggs benny.. Update:. They are back and just as awesome as ever!!! Benny time!! :)

I've been there a few times, and each time it feels like they are always improving. The breakfast is great, the lunch was tasty, and their homemade desert!! wow!!! can't wait to eat there again.

Danielle Young

Can get busy. Really good food. Like stepping back in time.

Chris Worby

Amazing food! Great little cafe, They have a great breakfast and the prices are very good. Also on a plus side they have glass coke bottles.

Noel Kingwell

Great breakfast!

Krista Powell

Really great Bennies with a ton of bacon choices. Seriously though, with all the options... I will go back for the class eggs Benedict every time.

Geoffrey Peters

Nice waiter. Busy but he made eye contact to let you know he sees you. Food good

Scott Dalrymple

Delicious food, as always!

Aidan Perron

Would like more coffee but the waiteess chatted and chatted with a pick up order? Didnt wanna be rude? Received attitude a sly dry HAGD yeah no tip? We were the only people in the place.

Roman Todos

Hidden gem!! Best value breakfast and the friendliest owner!

Lee Raymond

Great food. Great staff. My go to, when in town.

Brad J

Love the decor. Full of antiques. Good food and great service!!

Head To Tail Pet Spa Inc.

Very good meals, with everything made from scratch. The owner mentioned they smoke their meats and everything.

Lisa Gaylor

Missed this place! Great service, food and portions!

Cassie Noble

This place boasts homemade food but it was really hard to tell exactly what part of our meal was. Maybe the fries, maybe the onion rings but besides that, nothing. My husband got a burger and said it came on a crumbly bun, the patty tasted like a frozen one from the grocery store and a cheese single. My boys had chicken fingers which were your standard. I ordered a BLT which you can't really screw up but it was thin, 1 piece of lettuce, thinly sliced tomato, barely any bacon and a few bites with nothing but mayo. When I asked if they bread the fish in house for the fish & chips (because I was assuming this was all homemade food) I was told no so I'm just presuming it was a frozen, already battered fish. The service was ok but apart from that....not impressed, very disappointed and will not return.

Bryan Stobbe

First time coming here and it was amazing! The staff are wonderful, the food is amazing. I would definitely go back!

Service

Elizabeth Crawford

Service was great. Food was served hot and fast. Staff was friendly. Love the decor.

Lynn Fraser

15$ for a tiny Blt and a half cup of soup. Staff was not friendly likely due to the fact that we weren't hipster douches. If you want to go hang out and be scene at some trendy spot where you over pay for small portions this is your spot. If your hungry avoid this place !

Cliff Le Cat

$15 for a breakfast and coffee for one which was a little overpriced in my opinion. food came quickly (too quick to be fresh) and took forever to get my coffee refilled (30+ minutes). found a hair in my food, and chipped a tooth on a seed in the slice of orange peel. staff was friendly but restaurant was noisy with loud children. washrooms were clean.

Mahfuzur Rahman Emad

the Death by cheese is delish but so not good for a person. The smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict melts my heart! A classic diner in historic saskatoon

Jazmin Baker

100% top to bottom class act. Service, food, and prices are all top notch. One of the best restaurants in Saskatoon.

Jenna Knight

Love it!! Our favorite place for breakfast! I highly recommend the Monte Christo and Eggs Benny!

Sean Gabriel

Very tiny restaurant that is usually absolutely packed. When it comes to "50's diner" this place is where you should go in Saskatoon not a single picture of Elvis or friggin' Marilyn Monroe to be found, has a bit of authenticity to it. Food has an interesting "home made" vibe to it, it doesn't look or taste like it came in a big bag from sunspun like many other resturants trying to do this style of food (I'm looking at you pink Cadillac).

Jean-Luc D'Eon

Great place for lunch if you are hungry. Great service with good customer contact. My favourite is Saturday morning Walleye Eggs Benny. The Diner has limited hours to balance work with life. Good call

Dale Hicks

Very cute little place to go for breakfast or lunch. Worked around the COVID restrictions very well and made you feel safe. Waitress was friendly. Menus were laminated to the table (great idea). Parking was available almost right in front of the building.

Shane Chater

Clean environment/ great food and fast service

Dan Dromarsky

Great food, great service. I would definitely come back!

James Lewis

A very underrated breakfast spot in town. Their traditional breakfast is amazing.

John Miller

Decent food. Eggs Benedict are a solid 4 out five. Old style diner. Good atmosphere. Bring your kids.

Mandy

Really good freshly cooked food and friendly staff.

Maggie Gregorash

So glad we stopped in here to eat. What a gem! Great old style diner. The food was very good. The prices were fair. Loved the seasoning on the fries. Will definitely be back.

avneet N

Nice place to have breakfast and lunch or brunch. The quantity is big size, one plate can easily be eaten by two people. The staff is nice and friendly and the food tasted really good. I think the food is good for the price. I would recommend it to have a hearty breakfast on a Sunday. They close by 3-3:30 so you must go at least 1 hour before closing time.

L LS

Fun place. Great breakfast.

Kim Anderson

Great much needed greasy food after a night of drinking. ????

Rhonda West

Loved the food and would have given more stars, but the service was quite rude. I don't care how busy you are, there is no excuse to tell my wife (who's pregnant and holding our 3 yr old's hand) to walk faster to our table because you're stuck behind them.

Michael Linklater

Really pleasant and conscientious service with tasty food in big portions. Staff was really good about wearing masks and making sure patrons were well spaced.

Tee Adele

This is a great place for breakfast and lunch. And you will get chance to see lots of old n unique stuff.

Christine Sawatzky

Wow. I used to absolutely love this place. Never, ever will I come back. The service was honestly disgraceful. The young girl and the man were very nice, however our server was a bag. Never once did she say thank-you, your welcome, or even engage us. We actually wondered if we did something to offend her as she was so incredibly rude. Upon sitting down we weren't told the specials or soup. We sat with the menus closed for about 10 minutes before being aknowledged. We received no explanation or update on why our food (only a group of 3) took 50 minutes to come out. The food was sub par. Nothing special for a 50 minutes wait. Also, there was plenty of empty tables so I'm not sure why it took so long. Next time I'll wait in line at hometown diner for some quality food and service.

Alli Hutchinson

Diner classics made with extremely good ingredients. I would drink the gravy from a bucket. My go to is a BLT with turkey, fries and gravy. My husband loves the poutine, but literally everything is good!

Adam Bissonnette

By far one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The beef dip with poutine is the best I've ever had.

Pam Lowndes

Awesome place. Great staff. Food was spectacular. I had The Monte Cristo. Yummy!

Gloria McPhadden

This was a nice place to get a classic diner breakfast. We had a group of 6 and they put tables together to accomodate us. The staff was very friendly. It's a sigh of disappointment but not a full heel turn when we see those terrible wooden high chairs, which this place provided. Prices are average. 15-20$ per meal, $6 kid meal.

Sky Sorenson

Great food, loved having fish for breakfast. Service was slow, but food made up for it.

Jean Raymond

Awesome eggs benedict. Classic small town diner style restaurant with highest quality food at reasonable prices.

SHOWTIME GLASS, INC.

A dinner. Food is tasty. Service is good. Dont expect anything else and you will enjoy it here.

Darcy Remlinger

I want to be fair with the review. The Club House we ordered had Turkey that tasted very off (I mean very off). The mushroom soup resembled water more than soup. I quickly disposed both in the garbage. I have been told that the breakfast is exceptional at the Park and it must be because if this is typical of the lunch menu no one would return.

Stephen Francis

Who doesn't like a classic busy 50's dinner? Large portions of awesome stick to your ribs goodness, make me feel happy, good eats.

Brent Adams

A classic greasy spoon restaurant. The food is really good, top 7 breakfast in town (imo), and the atmosphere has the bold colours and nostalgia that we go to these places for. Also the bathroom is generally really clean. Protip: order eggs benny with tomato and spinach, but not so much that they run out and I don't get any. #greasyspoon #eggsbenny #breakfast #brunch

Garhet Maze

Food and service were exceptional. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good home style meal. It's where we have all our business meetings over breakfast or lunch.

Kim Schmidt

Loveeee it. Finally I found a real Canadian, Saskatchewanan Restaurant. Interesting beautiful old decoration. Routine and good quality food. Good pricing and polite staffs. I tried their salmon which was smoked at the restaurant! And mamamiaaa loved it. Eggs Bennie's are nice as well. Check it out for Brunch cause they serve it all Day long.

Peter Kingyens

Terrible service. I arrived at 12pm on a Sunday and understandably had to wait. The lady working told me I had to wait in the main doorway area because of health code violations of having people stand around. It was cold and there was nowhere to sit. We waited for about 15-20 minutes to be seated, not terrible for a lunch rush. The waitress who served us (possibly the owner) was not friendly at all. Very short with us and rude. The food took forever to arrive. It was delicious though, only reason this restaurant received any stars. My friend asked for a refill of her water quite early on and she never got it. We were never given a bill or told where to pay. After a while we just went up to the front. We were all surprised by our bills. I had a sandwich with fries and a coffee and it was $16. We were looking for a new restaurant to try and won't be going back.

These guys have delivered on food every single I've been here and I've been going for over a year. The waitresses get a little distracted sometimes and forget to refill coffees but that is such a minor nitpick I'm not even worried about it.

Jackie Ouellette

Heck yes. Best bacon and eggs in town! Benny is really good too. Oh oh and the pie

Steve H

It was okay on several occassions and a bit pricier. Either way it was good enough to continue going and tell our friends. That was until I took my two young children there and the older female waitress clearly was having a bad day or dislikes children. She took it upon herself to discipline my daughter who cheered when her food came. The food is okay, but the experience made it not worth it!

ArchAngel

The food speaks for itself. Yes the decor is a little run down, but don't let that deter you. I've personally never had a poor experience, but as any place service could go either way.

Heather Woolhouse

I have been going to this cafe since my first baby was 6 nd now she's 43 ..we love this cafe ..it has good food ..breakfast, hamburgers yummy! I would say ..anyone would love this fantastic cafe love it

Tim Bratton

Found this nice little restaurant on the internet. Reviews we great. So we gave it a try and have to say we were not disappointed, great service and great atmosphere.

Jonathan Reilly

This is perhaps my all-time favourite Saskatoon restaurant. It's clear that they really care about their cooking. Every meal I've had has been so delicious. I love when they have the curry shrimp bisque soup. My favourite sandwiches are the Reuben and the Club.

The Park Cafe is a great place for breakfast. The eggs Bennie was on special price when we were there on a Sunday - yummy!

Michael Douglass

If Ron Swanson came here, he'd give this place 5 stars. I tried the Eggs Benedict and was very impressed! This'll be my new favorite place to eat breakfast in the city.

Sylvia S

staff is awesome and very personable. The food is delicious at affordable prices. Love the small diner feel.

Rick Simmons

Stopped for lunch after finding Park Cafe on Google Maps. Feels like an old style diner, even has a row of stools at the counter. The food was very good, and the fresh baked or looked very good. Staff is friendly and I would recommend eating here. The vintage pictures of the area in the 1930s add to the flavour of the restaurant.

Vaheed Janfada

Staff weren't friendly- For them being voted one of the best places to have breakfast in Saskatoon I was disappointed. The food was average, a lot better places in Saskatoon for breakfast.

Toby Carroll

Excellent homemade burger and fresh cut fries... decently priced. Great service

Lois Riley

Went there a few months ago and wasn't impressed, so I went again this Saturday for lunch to give it another chance. It always seems busy so I thought maybe I had gone on a bad day. I was seated at this booth which put me literally inches away from strangers and gave absolutely no privacy or space. I ordered a mozza burger, onion rings and a can of Pepsi. The burger wasn't very big and it was dry and bland, the onion rings were okay but they only gave me about 8 of them. I ate my meal and was still hungry afterwards. Not satisfying at all. I went up to pay my bill and was surprised that it was almost $21.00! I thought the guy was joking at first. I haven't felt this ripped off in a long time. Very overpriced and mediocre. Definitely will never ever go back to the Park Cafe.

Gordon

Always great food and amazing service!! Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The staff were amazing with my 15 month old son.

King D

Good food and friendly service in this little 20th Street gem. Funky decorations to keep your eyes occupied until the food comes. Food is locally sourced as much as they can, so it's great to see their care of what they cook and support for local producers.

Mich Nyst

Delicious breakfast joint. I am in love with their eggs benny with hash browns. I always leave there feeling full!

Laurie Kuntz

Great food and the server was very nice~ will definitely be going there again ~

Chelsea Koehler

Excellent Food, service and home like environment!!!! Love the owners!!

S. Colpitts

Surrounded by historical Saskatoon scenes obtained from the Library: Vintage cars lining the streets in Bessborough area; original ROXY Theatre appears here. Antiques displayed behind counter. Neon signs decorate the windows. Retro metal signs enhance halls and bathroom. Friendly informative service. Was there for breakfast, cant comment on meals. Onion rings popular ROXY theater with its attractive murals situated nearby on north side of 20th st. This site will not post my photos.

June Eskra

Great diner food and environment. Service was excellent as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Dave Phillips

The food is always amazing. The owners and staff are fantastic. This is one of my favorite places to eat in the city!

Jay Bauer

Great food, great breakfast! Almost always busy because it is so good!

Dawn Johnson

Ordered 2 burgers 1 child burger and the burgers were so dry couldn't even swallow the burger prices do not justify food quality we paid close to $50 (we drank water)dont mind paying prices but expect good food (onion rings weren't the best either) the waitress always looks so crusty (been there before)

I love the at home feeling this place brings. It is humble, laid back, and unpretentious. They have big servings with affordable prices. Our family loved all of our orders but the best of them would be their special for that day which was the cajun snapper.

Friendly service and decent food (though a bit expensive). Is usually very busy, so be prepared to wait.

Still the best place for breakfast on 20th. Great food, value and service. You never wait long regardless of what you order. Awesome classic diner vibes. A Riversdale staple.

Jess Butcher

Lovely place. I had the veggie bagel with hashbrowns instead of fries, and it was a perfect breakfast if you aren't feeling like eggs and meat. Reasonable prices

Will definitely return, ordered the chicken fingers with fries wit a side of gravy. Fast service, excellent food, and decent prices. Only problem was that the waitress forgot my gravy but when I mentioned it she promptly brought it to my table. Overall one of the best restaurants in the area.

Michael Payne

I think the park burger is the best burger I've ever had , everything here is good tho !

Juanita McKay-Raymond

Good salmon benedict, too pricy for the content that was on the plate. Rundown abience. OK service.

deenoeeems

My favourite place for Breakfast or Lunch. The Park Burger is one of the best in the city. Great staff, great food, great vibe.

Eda Birch

Went out for birthday brunch. Awesome as usual!

Cory Williams

Great local diner. We go for breakfast mostly, have the Benny. Usually busy but room to sit.

Kacey Cross

This place has a great breakfast. It has numerously won Saskatoon's best breakfast. Hashbrowns are amazing.

Darren Weber

Best place in town for traditional breakfast. Eggs Benny done to perfection. And the price is right, plus cozy old style decor, service made you feel welcome All great

Raquel Ramirez

My husband and I REALLY wanted to like this place, and it has a fun, friendly old-school diner atmosphere, but the food was TERRIBLE, and so was the service. I had to try the deep-friend grilled cheese (how could you go wrong with deep frying + cheese?) but it was incredibly bland and inedible. Even the cheese inside was rubbery and totally tasteless. I couldn't finish it and I love cheese. The bread was light and fluffy, but the batter was dry and crumbly, with no seasonings that I could taste. The waitresses were running off their feet, and I did not get my coffee cup refilled in the hour that we spent there. We were so disappointed!

Kevin Dalton

Great selection of sandwiches with real meat. All plates have a ton of food on them that will not leave you hungry. If you need a stress break try the death by cheese grilled cheese sandwich. Nothing will turn your life around more than that sandwiche

crystal dean

I love this place. Reminds me of the Broadway cafe but with a better menu, and faster flowing coffee. Same atmosphere though and very busy on the weekends.

Not Sorry Lol

Hi have dined at this establishment several times over the last 15 or so years and I have yet to have a negative experience. The food is awesome, the staff are times 2 awesome. Never disappointed. Always looking forward to a return trip.

Quaint cafe in Riversdale. I really liked the old photos of the neighbourhood buildings. Great burgers, homemade soups and breakfasts.

Nicolas Viens

This is one of those amazing, lesser-known places. Their service is speedy and courteous and their dishes are amazing. The fried cheese sandwich is not for the faint of heart, but is one of my obscure favorites.

John Stuart

Excellent food. Fantastic service. HIGHLY recommend. Great nostalgic type atmosphere with great people and great food

Kevin Rattlesnake

Super Breakfast place. Warm hospitality. Restaurant has been operating since 1963, you get to see lot of antique stuff displayed inside. Breakfast was awesome. Great family place.

Joel Liast

Good place yummy food, nice staff...try the park burger very tasty.

Matthew Stonhouse

Excellent breakfast spot, so glad to see them re-open. Everything is delicious and reasonably priced, also Park Cafe is the only breakfast spot in the city that actually uses ripe fruit in their fruit cup instead of the sad pale imitation of fruit you get at most places.

adon hoffman

The food was mediocre at best. They claim it was homemade food but it seems to come mostly from frozen food boxes. The waitress was obnoxiously rude and inattentive. This place is a bit run down and was even compared as "The Ghetto Pink Cadillac". We will not be returning here.

Chris Belfour

The food and service (once we were seated at a table) was excellent! They were quite busy when we came in around noon on a Sunday. They were able to seat us at the "bar" shortly after we arrived. My only complaint was that we were sitting at the bar for about 15 minutes waiting for a table to open up, and the server took our drink order but waited until we had a table assigned to offer us the opportunity to order food. Another patron seated next to us at the bar had come in after us, was able to order her food, and was eating by the time myself and my companion were offered a table.
