This Restaurant is classified in the category of Italian restaurant.
Good food, prepared perfectly.
Really intimate place with amazing food. On the other hand, wine list is quite expensive and portions are fairly small, but overall a very good restaurant.
Little bit pricey. But AWESOME FOOD!!!! 10/10 So price makes sense. Lol
Dine in
The restaurant is cute, but very small and the tables are very close together. The food is extremely tasty, however, the menu is quite limited, and more of a problem are the prices for the portions. Portions are very small - especially the risotto (which was priced at $30 - and I could have easily eaten 3). However, it was delicious. The ravioli was also great, and the portion of it was a bit more reasonable. Overall, good quality food, just need to re-think pricing!
Wow delicious food! Had the steak.
Fantastic food and the staff were great.
Just finished our dinner and the meal was more than I could ever expect. The atmosphere and the servers are exceptional. I recommend it from the bottom of my heart.. Come on Saskatonians support this fine dining restaurant.
Amazing! A must eat at in Saskatoon!
Very good meal!
Good good, nice atmosphere.
Burrata was great, quail okay. Not as good as Ayden.
The staff is well trained, friendly and knowledgeable. The food is outstanding and fresh. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Saskatoon.
May 2019 - I feel terrible that I have to change my review, but our first visit back after the staff overhaul was not what we expected. The staff is still friendly, but the quality of food has went down terribly. They also dropped prices about 5%, but the poor quality of the food means they are more overpriced than ever. With such radical changes I think they’d have been better off changing the name and starting from scratch. Unfortunately this is not the restaurant that earned all the rave reviews you hear about. This was my favorite restaurant and now I’m sad to say we won’t be back. (Original review) Hands down my favourite restaurant in Saskatoon. Truly exceptional food
One of the best meals and overall restaurant experiences we've had. Sitting at pasta bar lets you watch the intimate and efficient kitchen, sometimes you get to taste a few things that you didn't order. Excellent seafood, very good wine pairings. Highly recommended.
Excellent food. Great service & hospitality. Very nice place. 1st visit ... definitely not last
Fantastic food experience, with equally great service, we had the chef's 6 course meal and every dish played with ones pallet.
Have only eaten here once but was very impressed with both the food and the service. The food was excellent and worthy of being ranked as one of Canada's top 100 restaurants. The Alla Famiglia menu was one of the best tasting menus I have had. The sommelier did a fantastic job of pairing the wines with the dishes. We were there during truffle season and the addition of truffles was worth the extra money. Not an inexpensive meal but the food and dining experience are worth the price
I absolutely loved everything about this place. The atmosphere, venue, staff, and food were all so good. This little restaurant was so cozy, warm and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly, on top of our needs and so knowledgeable... and the food ! Oh my god the food! I had the beef carpaccio, grilled octopus and the ravioli. The ravioli was incredible. I definitely recommend getting that and the grilled octopus and beef carpaccio were still very yummy. I will return to this place the next time I’m in Saskatoon!
If you want amazing well severed food, then look no further. This place is very quiet and a very nice atmosphere. They have a 7 course meal that was just an abundance of food. It came out quick and the waiter had nothing but bounds of information about the food he was severing! It was very very refreshing! My only complaint was that is was very chilly in the restaurant.
Service
Best meal, great atmosphere!
I was out to dinner with three others and we shared the smaller family style meal. The variety and quality of the food was amazing. The four of us ended up very full by the end of the meal, so don't think the smaller option won't fill you up. We wanted a bottle of wine for the table, so the waitress sent over their sommelier to help us choose a bottle based on our price range and the meal. We'll definitely be going back another time.
I was very excited to eat here but was very disappointed when we were seated right by the cold door and in front of the hostest. I felt like my husband and I couldn't have a proper conversation or discuss the food together because the hostest was always standing there within earshot. Every time the door opening we had a cool breeze run past us making the experience very uncomfortable. Also because we were seating so close to the door any guests who were waiting for there tables just stood there and stared at us while we ate also listening to anything we wanted to talk about within earshot. Food was very good but very expensive for how small and uncomfortable the restaurant experience was. The waiting staff bothered us a bit too much and we're very pushy on some of the meals and alcohol. We spent $140 and didn't feel like we got the experience that came with the price tag.
Incredible food, atmosphere, service and experience. Highly recommend!!
The food was great, atmosphere good. Only downside was space between tables and a cold draft from front door.
Tasting menu took approximately four hours, food was ok but pacing was unfortunately quite poor.
I cannot express just how good the food was. Came here for my 30th and had the 6-course dinner. I'm not the biggest seafood fan, but even those dishes were amazing. There wasn't a serving I didn't adore, easily the best restaurant I've ever been to. While definitely not cheap, it is definitely worth the price! I've now been to all 3 restaurants owned by Dale Mckay, and each one has been just excellent.
It was good, but not GREAT! Prices are steep for the meal you get.
We were there 3 1/2 hours. Food was good, service was good. Portion size was small. Had the 10 course meal you share and just needed a bit more for the time we were there, maybe some bread . Wine pairings were amazinging. My 3rd time at this place, not sure I would go back again. Expensive for what it was.
decent food, but definitely overpriced for what it is
I've been a repeat customer when my travels take me to Saskatoon and I've been impressed with quality ingredients, service, and presentation each time. I'm always looking forward to my next visit
Awesome food. Great service!
We were absolutely thrilled with our experience. We chose to get the sampling of several items (alla familia I think, chef's choice) and were blown away by both the diversity of the dishes and their flavour. On top of that, the ambience of this tiny restaurant is intimate and cozy. The staff are amazingly knowledgeable and our server nailed the wine selection on the first try. We will definitely be coming back.
Beautiful food and wonderful service. Our waiter explained each dish to us and it was clear he really cared that we enjoyed our experience. An ideal place for couples.
Good food but a bit pricey
The supper came out perfectly paced and we enjoyed each and every dish. Started with a crab dish and an amazing salad. Next was a ravioli in a brown sugar butter sauce. Then spaghetti clams in a wonderful broth. Following was an amazing glazed trout in a tomato medley. Last was an amazing peanut butter Budino. beautiful
Great food and reasonable wìne list
Amazing staff. Food is also amazing. All-around amazing.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Awesome vibe. The servers make you feel welcome and shows they want you to have a great experience. The head chef Jessie is also very nice, if your sitting at the bar, he will make time to talk to you. You can see he has a passion for food when he talks about it. He would let his guests smell certain ingredients and describe the origins of them. Price is reasonable for the type of ingredients that they use. Must check this place out!
The food was Exquisite.
This is special talent exuding itself with purpose and flair in Saskatoon.
Good food, good service. Something different...really enjoyed the evng!
Exceptional service in a beautiful intimate space with exquisite food.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Very covid friendly we felt relaxed and comfortable to eat here , will certainly go again soon
Amazing!!!
I cant give much more than three stars, which hurts. I think we came in on a tough night for the team. Still... service got them the stars. We hadnt tried the new menu under the new chef, so were excited, but it was tough.
I enjoyed a very scrumptious meal. It was amazing from the get go. Trevor and I were greeted by 'the hostess with the mostest' Chelsey. It came along with great servers and spectacular food. It is a place to put on the bucket list for sure. Would love to go again in the future. ????????????
Been to many amazing restaraunts in places in Canada and the U.S., this is my favorite.
Came here for our wedding anniversary. The tables are SUPER close together so that was quite uncomfortable. The pricing was pretty high for the portions you get, we were satisfied, but not full. That’s where they lost the star. However, they were very accommodating with doing a dairy free tasting menu for my husband! Service was great and everything was different and exciting!
Outstanding food and incredible wine selection. One of my absolute favorite spots in the city!
Excellent meal, excellent service - very enjoyable!
Don't go there hungry. Yes the food is good, but it's extremely pricey and the portions are very small. My wife and I have gone several times and had the familia style. The "meat" course was very disappointing, honestly a 2oz piece of meat to split with my wife.
What a fabulous restaurant in Saskatoon A carefully crafted menu Semifreddo for dessert. Bravo!
Food, wine and service was exceptional. Second time here. But rather chilly near the door and windows.
Flavorful, unique food and drinks prepared by talented chefs and served by knowledgeable, friendly staff in a homey environment. One of my favourite restaurants anywhere.
Meal type
Very good food. A bit disappointed in the charred octopus, for what they charge there wasn't a lot to enjoy. Other than that it was a good night out and a very good meal.
The food was so amazing, we were blown away! We had appetizers, pasta and risotto. Great wine, great service, the lovely dishes and plating, the whole experience was fantastic. But especially the food! Wow!!
Food and service were excellent
Ordered the family style ten course meal. One of the best meals we have ever had.
Great food.
This restaurant is fantastic. Highly recommended.
Great food and great atmosphere. Highly recommend trying this place out.
Quick and courteous door staff. My meal came to me in about 15 minutes and presentation was very good. Turns out I could’ve ordered something that I would have enjoyed more. All considered it was very tasty just not my cuppa tea. I find it a bit pricey for the portion size however I enjoyed my visit just the same.
Best dining experience I have had in SK.
I had the pleasure of enjoying an amazing dinner at Little Grouse on the Prairie. If you can, the fasting menu (Alla Familia) is an amazing way to try some of the delicious dishes this restaurant has to offer. The environment is intimate and the service was absolutely flawless. Absolutely one of my favorite meals I’ve been able to experience in Saskatoon. The diver scallop antipasti is not to be missed, definitely my favorite dish of the meal.
Menu explained in detail and order delivered to satisfaction. Great service
Went for my birthday dinner and loved it. Small dining room with a intimate feel. Would go back.
The food at Little Grouse is amazing. The chefs take exceptional care in making sure that the best quality plates make it to the table. The somm's make sure that the drinks are equal in excellence. If you are thinking, why would I ever go to Saskatoon, it's a frozen tundra? Let me tell you, it's worth the trip. Trust me, I'm from Ontario and wouldn't come here without cause.
This was a great experience enjoying new flavors and items like the grilled Octopus. Portion sizes were great for our appetites. They wonderfully accommodated my wife's diet with great options. Mark was a great server and recommended Aydens for a great cocktail. Which we enjoyed with Eve as our host
Everything here is awesome, even after the menu change. Sit at the pasta bar, all the cool kids do. Plus, you get to watch the cooks in action. It's like dinner theater!
Do not eat here if you like going to family restaurants, ordering ribs and fries by the pound and walking out feeling like you're going to explode. The food here is art and it takes an understanding of what goes into it to fully appreciate it. If you like good, carefully made food, this is a place you have to try.
We had the small "alla famiglia". The food was delicious, especially the Rotolo and the citrus dessert.
Always great service and wonderful food. We attended a special event so I cannot comment on their new menu. We hope to return soon to try it out.
Ordered 7 Course Alla Famiglia, it was unbelievably tasty and so much food! The meal was so enjoyable the only thing I got a picture of was the wine (which was also very good for it being the most inexpensive). Small restaurant, with a nice atmosphere. A little on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for.
Love this restaurant. Cozy little spot. Wonderful food. Great chefs. Always tasty, one of my favourite spots in s’toon for sure. The meatballs are always a must have to start and there is no bad pasta choice to choose. Always excellent!
went there hungry and left there hungry, very expensive and the food portions that were shared between my wife and I and were very small. Thought for 300.00+ it would be unreal food and a cool experience but was disappointed in the service and the way the food was presented. I would recommend Taverna over this place any day better tasting food and portions are perfect, with a price that doesn't break the bank.
Food was excellent! Service was friendly and impeccable. Definitely a repeat visit in the near future.
Really nice meal. Service was friendly, expert and quick. We got our small plates so quickly I think Chef knew what we were going to order before we got there! I had charred octopus which was perfect... almost creamy texture in the centre and nice crunch with the char. Overall an excellent meal, will go again, highly recommend.
The team at Little Grouse is so talented and kind. The food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is so welcoming. You will feel like you have gone on a little vacation.
Went for my wedding anniversary last weekend and was blown away by the experience. We had the 10 course Alla Famiglia with wine pairings and everything was beyond delicious. We sat up at the pasta bar (which, I'd highly recommend doing at any restaurant that offers this kind of seating option), and got to watch the meals being prepared, and chat with the head chef. The sommelier did a wonderful job of pairing the wine with the food that was being served, and the limoncello that was prepared with the dessert course was the perfect end to the meal. Service was prompt and friendly, and all staff that brought the different dishes to us described them wonderfully. Would eat here again and again. 5/5 service 5/5 food taste 5/5 atmosphere
Really great! Probably my fave spot in Saskatoon! Highly recommended
Service, food quality, portion sizes and room ambiance were all excellent!! I will come back often.
Best food I’ve had in all my travels! Also great atmosphere, and exemplary staff. Very considerate of food allergies.
Amazing! Had the Alla Famiglia with wine pairing. Everything was fresh, delicious and interesting. The service was excellent. The small size is more than enough.
Over priced. Small portions. Server tried too hard to upsell everything we ordered. Food was underwhelming.
Was out for a birthday with 6 people. Quite possibly the worst restaurant meals I've had in saskatoon. Had risotto and it tasted like watery rice with 3 small shrimp. Other meals were not any better. Extremely disappointing for what is supposed to be a high end restaurant. Service was good but food was terrible.
Terribly overpriced and overrated AND as everything views the kitchen, we watched as the chef - with no hat or hair net - continually flipped his hair as he was preparing the plates. We had to double check all our food for hair! As well, they dropped menus and then didnt explain the specials until we had already decided! Would NOT recommend.
Dinner
Some of the best pasta in the city. Local ingredients with incredible flavor.
One of the nicer restaurants in town, great place for a date night! Leave your phone at home and just take in the experience!!
I rarely go out for Italian but this is one of my favorite restaurants in Canada. Go for the alla famiglia multi course.
First time tryout, had a great experience here and will be back if I am around the town again.
Fabulous recommendations by the chef. Great place to try great food...would be great for date night.
Fabulous food. The best Italian I’ve had in North America. Service was also wonderful. We booked a reservation through open table and it was missed so our table wasn’t ready when we first got there. The staff was very apologetic and gave us prosseco on the house for the wait. They also were very accommodating of my food restrictions. Highly recommend the house-made limoncello.
Meal type
Tasty food but severely overpriced. We paid $285 for 4 people (no alcohol) and left hungry. The portions were tiny. The waitress was trying to convince us to get truffles as an added pasta topping without first warning us of the price. Leaving hungry after spending so much money made me feel ripped off. Will not return here.
The bill will be expensive but you get what you pay for. The servers are knowledgeable, friendly and everywhere. For a small place, there were many people working. All of the servers who waited on us were great! We tried the seven-course meal (alla famiglia) and the servings were portioned exactly right so we all could make it to the end. Each piece was interesting and good enough to warrant conversation about it. The squid on tomato was my favourite. We brought my mom to fill in for friends who had to cancel and by the end of the night she was booking a reservation for her and my dad for later that week. I can't afford to go often, but this is a sure win for a special occasion.
Exquisite menu. True Bridge City gem!
Great food and service. Thanks for flexibility on the mandatory mask rules. Many of us won't eat at places that strickly enforce irrational health measures. We'll be back! I'll let the 5k strong No Mask Sask Facebook group know I wasn't harassed at your business.
Excellent food and service. Had the large course meal . Im a big man and am super full. Wallet is empty but a true dining experience
I will generally echo the reviews: ambiance and food quality are great, even though it is quite expensive compared to similar style restaurants. However, I wanted to share a short bit as to why we gave it 5 stars. Due to some miscommunication between the server and me, an extra risotto was brought to our table. Rather than argue about the miscommunication or get into any discussion, the restaurant comped that additional risotto and gave it to our table. In addition to the food, that gesture left a nice taste in my mouth.
This was our first experience at this little gem of a restaurant. They did not disappoint! We ordered the "alla famiglia" (family) menu. it consisted of 7 different incredibly delicious dishes that were presented to us over the course of 2 1/2 hours. This isn't a cheap option, but we didn't regret it. As each dish was brought out, the server carefully explained what was in it and how it was prepared. One of our group had food allergies that many chefs find debilitating ... not here! They rose to the challenge and made sure that we were still served the very best of what they had to offer. The service was impeccable. The staff are attentive, but not overbearing. Although we had one principal server, they all work as a team. Our dishes were frequently brought out by other servers who presented and described them with care. Empty plates were courteously whisked away by any one of the servers who happened to be coming by. Minor gripe: they are very popular and the seating is tight. Don't expect to be able to carry on a quiet, intimate conversation not matter where you are seated. Also request a table *away* from the window. Although window seats are desirable in many places, in this restaurant they are located right along the entranceway. All the patrons must walk tightly by these tables on their way in and out of the restaurant leaving you with little peace to enjoy the wonderful food. This may have been our first visit to this little gem, but it won't be our last.
As always, Little Grouse was incredible. All of the flavours are spot on, and Jesse and the team do an amazing job. You have to have to alla famiglia to really try out the menu and a whole bunch of flavours. I came in with my parents to celebrate successfully defending my PhD Dissertation and Jesse even gave us some white truffle for the main course! Will definitely be coming back!
Service
I love this place. Quaint, cozy, absolutely delicious. They make all their pasta from scratch, unlike other Italian restaurants in the city other than Primal. The staff is also incredibly accommodating of allergies.
They had a BBQ special during this time and it was amazing. (Fried Chicken, Ribs, Corn Bread, Coleslaw, Beans and pulled pork) Generally this place serves pasta and other dishes but we are happy we didn't miss out on this. Shout out to Dale and his team. We will be back!
Pricey yes, but you get high quality ingredients and preparations. I loved it. Small. Cozy. Reservations required.
Great, fresh, scratch made Italian classics.
Food and service was excellent!! Everything is made in house and is so fresh! Very nice comfy atmosphere!
One word: Delicious! Ironically, our first date entailed a lengthy conversation about Prairie Chickens and we choose Little Grouse to celebrate our ten year anniversary of that first date.
Easily the best food I've had in Saskatoon. Fresh made pasta right in front of you and amazing knowledgable staff. Unbelievable.
One of the best, if not the best of the top tier restaurants on Saskatoon.
Amazing food
Amazing experience! Caviar tuna appetizer was beautiful!
Amazing food
Good food, over priced for a bowl of pasta, portion size small. A piece of bread to soak up my sauce would have been nice.
Best restaurant in town! Great evening and fantastic food and wine.
Fun place. Just let them bring you whatever. They explain each dish as they bring it to your table.
Took staff and friends for the large afamilia. Everything was delicious, and everyone said they enjoyed the experience afterwards.
Menu Alla Famiglia is amazing! Great atmosphere, Chef and Sommelier were insanely knowledgeable. Definetly a must try in #yxe
The meal was so tasty. We were made to feel welcome and well taken care of even though we came later in the evening.
Our group had the A La Famiglia 7 course meal (small option). Highly recommend. 3 appetizers, 2 pastas, 1 entree and 1 dessert. We were all very full by the end of the night! The chef chose what to bring us so we didn't have much say in the menu. I would imagine you could have a very different experience on different nights depending what courses they bring you. In this respect I would only recommend a little more adventurous or easy to please people go here. If you're a picky eater, the A La Famiglia might not be for you. The pasta was incredible! One note on the beef entree, it was very rare. Some of our party really enjoyed it and others not as much, but that's simply a personal preference. The flavours of everything were exceptional. Great presentation and good atmostphere. The restaurant is very tiny so it got a little busy and noisier as the evening progressed, but overall a really nice place. The food was delicious!
Ordered the Duck and the Gnocchi...superb!
Great Service and amazing food. The smaller restaurant allows for a more intimate and relaxed experience.
Amazing food and service. I highly recommend this place for a food experience rather than just simply eating. It's an expensive place but there is good reason for it.
Great service, pasta was fantastic and some great sharing plates.
Best meal I've had in a long time! Perfect portion sizes! I even had room for a delicious dessert!
Excellent food and service, a bit pricey.
We had the small Alla famiglia. We just about died of bliss. All courses were delicious but the beef secondi was perfection. I finished it off with a glass of nonino moscato grappa and with that they brought us a citrus and shortbread dessert. Service was the best and I did not think the portions were too small for the number of courses (7). Fantastic experience!!
Food is just so so good. Best restaurant in the city IMO. Bring your wallet though.
Food was amazing, service was great. We will definitely be back!
Update: Dropping from 5-star and glowing recommendations down to a 3-star and suggested pass. Upon sitting down and looking at the menu, it was immediately apparent something was different; a smaller one-page offering, devoid of the authentic dishes and creative, charming ingredients I had loved. Spaghetti, linguine, & tortellini...? Where am I? Turning around in my seat, I don’t see any familiar faces behind the counter - in front, a new hostess & new wait staff. Ordering two starters and two mains, service was friendly (though not as radiantly charismatic) and presentation was solid. Taste was not what I would have expected - lacking flavour, not prepped to perfection as I had come to love & expect from the previous team & menu. Octopus rough & chewy, buratta missing salt & its creamy texture - pasta still fresh made, but boring creations and not well seasoned. Decided not to give the dessert options a shot. If you hadn’t had a chance to eat at Little Grouse with the original team, it may be worth a chance as you wouldn’t know what you’re missing - if you’re a longtime fan, I would suggest you don’t return as you’ll only be supremely disappointed. Unfortunately it has morphed into a generic Italian offering you would have no problem matching to any other strong independent Italian joint out there. Really should have shuttered the place and re-branded so as not to set the expectations and disappoint former guests - it feels like they are riding on the coat-tails of their previous reviews. Bummed to have one less stellar restaurant in the city, something I had always been excited to visit & show off at every opportunity - Little Grouse was un-paralleled and my personal favourite. I don’t know what happened, but hope the entire team from the previous iteration of the restaurant has moved onto bigger & better things.

Food was excellent.
The dishes are good and creative. Not prefect but definitely good enough to be listed on Top 100 Canada Restaurant. It is said that it opened by the owner of Ayden which about 100 meters away from little goose and also a top 100 restaurant. The only thing is that the dishes are a little bit too salty especially the spaghetti, it should measure the weight of the salt in the noodle and the sauce, because when you put regular amount of salt in each and then put it together then it would be too salty. Service is good
Great date night!
After ten courses I had here for 3 hours, we still feel hungry and have to eat instant noodles after we went back home
Amazing food and service! So tasty, we will be back!
Great food!
Well in Italy we say: Nella botte piccola c’è il vino buono; which means, in the small barrel there is the good wine. Small restaurant and delicious food. I went last Tuesday with my girlfriend; we had two different starters and main dishes; all four were awesome!! My beef carpaccio was amazing and my girlfriend walleye too! Red wine (Chianti) at the room temperature was perfect with the beef stake and the cold prosecco was perfect with the cake! The intalian cuisine is really strong and well mixed with Canedian product as meat and lake fish! 10 out of 10 the score for this restaurant!
We really wanted to love this place. My wife and I took my parents here for their anniversary and we were all really disappointed. The service was super slow and the staff told a couple fibs to cover up their lack of knowledge. All of that would have been fine, but even after a super long wait, when the pheasant came out it was raw. Still we wanted to like this place so we were pretty easy going about it, but when the waiter tried to convince us that the jelly raw bird was supposed to be prepared that way, we were pretty put off. In fairness they removed the meal from the bill, but it still made for a bit of a lousy night out. I like the ownership group and expected big things from this restaurant, but I think we must caught them on a really bad night. :(
There's a lot of hype over this restaurant but it's really for nothing. The food was okay at best and the service was nothing special. Menu is terribly limited and the portion sizes are not representative of the dollar paid. Ordered the Mushroom Risotto. Got a terribly small portion (about 2 scoops) of rice mixed with sauce for $30. Rice wasn't cooked fully in the sauce, appeared to have been added later in the cooking process. Mushrooms in the risotto weren't cooked entirely and some pieces were inedible. The uncooked mushrooms on top were even worse. Other members of our party had the pastas. The portion sizes were equally as small and the tortellini didn't have any sauce with it. None of the dishes featured any sides, starters, garnishes, or anything of the sort. You get exactly what the menu states, nothing else. There's honestly nothing special about the service or the food.
We had the 5 course meal with 2 friends. It was by far some of the best food we have ever had in Western Canada.
The food is trendy, and the restaurant somehow has both a "big city restaurant" and "cozy hole in the wall" feel to it. They have an Alla Familia (family-style) group meal option that I hope to try one day. Not sure which wine to order? Ask your server for recommendations then try a sample. I'm really glad to have been.
The 1 star given has nothing to do with the quality of the meal but more to do with the rest of my experience. I can not fault the meal or the wine. I do, however, feel that the restaurant makes a big spiel about catering to their customers' dietary needs or choices but don't follow through. My wife is pregnant and we were assured that the ricotta was pasteurised but later events made us doubt this. For dessert my wife and my father ordered the apple. According to the menu this comes with a molasses sauce. A single jug was brought over his and her apple. She was assured that despite hearing the server describing it as a rum sauce to my father, that this contains maple and brown sugar and no alcohol. She asked me to taste the sauce and I tasted the alcohol as well. When we voiced our concerns we were told that there was 2 different jugs of sauce... which there were not. My question is simply how do we know if the ricotta was pasteurised? Lastly, when a chef leaves the kitchen to go outside and smoke, the chef should probably wash his hands upon return to the kitchen. We travelled 220km for what we thought would be a wonderful evening. Maybe this makes the disappointment worse.
Tried the 6 course menu with wine pairing. It's recommended to eat before coming to this restaurant. Dishes lack flavor, cocktails not recommended.
An overall excellent experience! We did the 6 course tasting menu and every single dish was an explosion of flavor! The staff were extremely friendly and well versed on their explanation of each course. It was such a great meal and we can’t wait to do it again! It is the perfect place for a date night or to celebrate a special occasion!
Service was excellent. Food was great and waiter brought a new dessert after the one we got on the chefs tasting menu was not to our liking. Only complaint is my butt was sore sitting on an unplanned chair for 3 + hrs
Dinner
Portions way too small and priced too high.
Probably the best fine Italian dining in Saskatoon
The best pasta, ever.
Best tasting food in Saskatoon, unique experience with a romantic atmosphere. Worth the visit for a special occasion or a treat. Would recommend to anyone looking for something special.
hands down, best fresh made pasta here. wow. I can't wait to go back and try others.
A dining experience, service, menu, wine list, and cocktail craft to rival restaurants in any major city in North America. One of the best nights I've had in a long time.
Dine in
Great restaurant- freshly made pasta. one of the best i’ve been to in a long time .
Sooooo gooood. I could live off pasta forever and to be able to enjoy fresh, made to order pasta, oh my! Had the papardelle with pork agrodolce, wow! The service was great (yet again) and atmosphere... well we loved the quaintness and small size of the restaurant. Our waitress recommended a bottle of red that went well with our meals. The tomato salad and strawberry sorbet = summer in a bowl. Service and food a 10/10! Don’t hesitate to visit!
Food was delicious, as were the cocktails. Highly recommended. Had the family 10 course meal and my favourite was the steak with arugala salad, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was cooked to perfection. You need to try this restaurant.
Went up and beyond to accommodate us even though they had a full restaraunt for the evening. All the food was so incredibly delicious. We did the 6 course meal which is a unique way to experience a night out. We also really enjoyed the customer service, every plate was served with the server giving us a detailed description of what we were eating which we really enjoyed. And the service was very attentive to our needs and very friendly!
My wife and I took my parents here for their birthday last night, the food was great the atmosphere was great, but the portions were abysmal. We all ordered the four course meal and the three of them got wine pairings. Rather than each getting our own separate plates brought to us they brought what looked like a plate for two people and set it in the middle of the table and just expected us to divvy it up. Each of us Recieved about four bites of salad, seven small tortellini noodles, maybe 3-4 Oz of steak, and two single bites of two small desserts. Our bill was close to 600 dollars. My wife and I wondered a few times if a mistake had been made on the portions, as the food brought out looked like it was a portion for two people at best. My wife and I have been here before and this was very much not the experience. The first time we came about two years ago, we left feeling fully fed and satisfied with the value of the portions. If this was indeed a mistake little grouse please rectify it. If this is what your are serving four adults now as a meal, I will take my business elsewhere. I actually went home and ate a meal after leaving little grouse. Also nobody wants to split up portions on a plate between four people. Maybe a couple on a date night, that might be a nice intimate thing but in a group?! Bring people individual plates!
