Incredible place to eat. I often regret the money I spend in restaurants, but the Hearth was worth every penny. The mushroom appetizer was excellent. The cold smoked pork chop was packed with flavor and tender as can be. The wait staff was great, great decor. One of three favorite restaurants in Saskatoon and the other two are closed, so looks like this will be the place I'll be coming back to

Went into Hearth on a Sunday evening. I had the mushrooms to start, then the pork belly for a main, and the basque style cheese cake for dessert. I also had the paper plains cocktail and a Shiraz by the glass. Everything was fantastic! I loved the mushrooms, and it was a large serving. The pork belly was also amazing, and the cheese cake was a great way to end the meal! I will definitely come back next time I'm in Saskatoon.

Every dish has a uniqueness that puts it a step above the standard. Really enjoyed the mushroom appetizer, the zucchini main, and the chocolate panna cotta finish. Saskatchewan sourced food at its finest. I recommend.

We ordered a meal for a group of friends, one of whom was way out of town. Hearth did a great job getting everything ready on time, including the early meal. Some of the comments were "the best vegetarian meal I've ever had", "this was delicious". Great job team Hearth!!!

Got a gift card from work for Hearth. And this space is so cool! There is brick and piping and plants everywhere. It’s a little dark, but it makes it more romantic! I liked all of the old plates. Looking at the menu, it looks very simple and straightforward. But man were we surprised! Everything was so good! I got a Negroni and it was ???? We came in a Thursday and got the fish fry. Definitely just a starter. But surprisingly good. We enjoyed the little fish “wings” the best.???? ???? Elliott got the chicken, which was cooked perfect. It was seasoned through and the little raisins and capers were nice bright flavours against the richness. ???? ????I got the pork belly and it was so tender. The spätzel was amazing and the orange coloured purée ????????. Everything the plate was good.

Expected a lot from the other reviews, was not impressed. Food was bland with very little taste, had the chicken and fish dishes. Bartender asked me and my partner if we wanted drinks we both gave an order and she only returned with one drink :( . Decor was unimaginative overall apart from the bathroom wallpaper that was fun. Two stars are solely for the really good apple pie.

I had such an amazing experience at Hearth and would recommend this beautiful restaurant to anyone! We had made a reservation and was warned beforehand that we were reserving a high top table. This was of course okay with us but it's good they give you a preview of the seating in case it is undesirable for someone. Both myself and my boyfriend shared their take on the liver and onions to start, with each of us getting a main. The food is absolutely exceptional! All of the flavours are warm and comforting, matching the interior. They place an emphasis on locally grown foods and pull through with some really amazing dishes that Saskatchewan should be proud of! The drinks are also very well crafted and enjoyable. The cocktails are fresh, with light and complimentary flavours that go with any meal you will have there. This place is absolutely worth the visit and should be near the top of your "dinner plans" list!

A great addition to the sasky food scene. Hearth does gourmet takes on the dishes many of us from the area grew up on. Atmosphere and service are both warm and welcoming. Menu prices are very good considering the quality of the food. Standouts include the fried #perogies, pike ceviche and rhubarb #pie! Will definitely be going back.

Went on a Sunday evening for a late supper (you definitely want to make a reservation in advance as it's a popular restaurant in a small space). The Sunday night lasagna was sensational! 13 layers of fresh homemade pasta that literally melted in your mouth. The mushroom appetizer was heavenly as was the sticky toffee pudding. A fantastic local place to take a date with excellent servers and chefs.

We went here for our anniversary supper. The cheese and mushroom appetizer is DELICIOUS. Hot tip: get the extra bread when they offer the first time. By the end we were both just taking giant spoonfuls of it(so good!). I ordered the pork and my husband ordered the steak. Of course we treated ourselves to dessert...carrot cake. The food here is thoughtful and locally sourced. The chefs clearly know what they are doing and the staff were very good. This is a pricier restaurant, but I hear that on Thursdays they have $10 for a beer and fish & chips.

Amazing food. OMG. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was homey. The setting felt romantic. It's definitely a more fancy dressed style to dine at. It's a good place for a romantic date for sure! Parking can be a little rough since it doesn't have a lot of space but you can find on street parking and walk a bit. I wish I took pictures of the food. I didn't have my phone on me so I forgot to. The beef and the chicken were both super delicious. The fish fry was also really good. The toffee pudding cake was amazing. Overall, 5/5 stars for food. Service was polite and on point as well. Overall, I definitely recommend this place. Just make sure you book a reservation. It was really busy even on a Thursday!

A great, new farm-to-table restaurant that's serving local ingredients in a homey, comforting, yet elegant way. My wife and I came on a Friday as walk-ins and we got seated at the bar. Fine by me. The atmosphere was busy and cozy at the same time. The bartender took our orders, and we had the best spot to watch him make them. We started with perogies. They were very tender and delicious. The lace tuille was delicate and an elegant touch. I had the stuffed pasta: carrot tortellini. The tortellini were delicate, tender, and delicious. Smoked breadcrumbs went well with the dish and provided a great contrast in texture. The pea shoots were refreshing. My wife had the pike dish. The pike was delicious and perfectly cooked. The lentils weren't over done; the beets paired well together. The service was excellent and the meal was fantastic. A comforting way to have Saskatchewan's amazing ingredients served in a refined manner. Will definitely be back!

Great restaurant for gourmets and people who like to discover something new. The mix of French and Canadian cuisine with affordable prices make this place truly a gem on a Saskatonian restaurant map. I ordered take out last Sunday - the pork belly, agnolotti, beef and broccoli, crab cakes and the mushroom/cheese appetizer. They ran 10-15 minutes past the pick up time, and as a gesture of solidarity gave us two free desserts (which were incredible). This was the best take out experience of my life. The food was attractively labelled and packaged. It was hot and cooked to perfection, and somehow even the presentation was nice. We had the “eating at a nice restaurant” feels but from the comfort of our living room. I almost called the restaurant afterwards to tell them what a stellar job they did. They are doing great things at Hearth!

We had a wonderful family dinner at Hearth prior to the holiday season. The restaurant itself is well laid out so you don’t feel cramped even while seated in the central area. Went in for a Sunday brunch - atmosphere was lovely and the service was prompt. Ate the trout benny and the farmers breakfast. Wasn't 100% sold on the farmers breakfast, as the tomatoes and mushrooms were a bit bland. Loved the benny, with the fried trout cake. Caesars were delicious and very reasonably priced. Had the mushrooms for an appetizer and the chicken dish as a main. Mushrooms should please anyone who's into an alfredo-y type of deal, as they're smothered in cheese. The chicken was basically just really good fried chicken, but the pressed potatoes flavoured with preserved lemon was what really did it for me.

The pork belly edged into first as the best appetizer that we tried....which was a tough decision because they were all very good. The service was prompt, pleasant, and helpful. The food was the highlight though. My wife and I were out for our anniversary and we couldn't be happier with the whole experience. We had two generous appetizers with our meal; the creamy-cheesy mushrooms, and the chicken liver mousse with chutney and onion rings. I recommend both, but I was most impressed with the chicken liver and onion rings. The flavour was amazing with a section of onion ring, some of the mousse and chutney on the fork. My wife had the steak and it was done perfectly. She loved it. I had the pasta feature, mac & cheese with kale and garlic. It was delicious as well. The bartender did a great job with both my Old Fashioned and the Negroni. For dessert we split the two small chocolate truffles. They were delicious and we couldn't eat anything more at the point as we were easily feeling full. We'll definitely be back. I'm still thinking about the chicken liver and onion rings hours later. Delicious.

We finally had a chance tonight to experience Hearth. It was a great experience all around. Lauren was our server and was truly an awesome ambassador - so pleasant, humorous and attentive. The fish fry and chicken livers were amazing presentations and so delicious. Our mains of stuffed pasta, the chicken and pork belly were really really beyond belief. We have been fortunate to have travelled and eaten in many fabulous restaurants in the world, and our experience tonight would rank amongst the best. Hearth is a local gem to be treasured and appreciated.

We went for my sister’s birthday dinner. Its better to get a reservation before you go to avoid waiting as the place is always busy. Its a nice warm place with comfortable sitting. Initially I felt that the table was small and the chairs were small too but after some time it felt warm and cosy. Their cocktails are nice. I ordered the Second Honeymoon and Paper plains. It was nice. They also give the option for classic cocktails and alcohol free drinks. We ordered the Trout for appetizer and it was absolutely amazing. It was soft and succulent and the fish melted in my mouth. It did not even taste like fish with the veggies and sauce mixed in. The chips on the side give a nice sour to it. For the mains we ordered pasta, Beef and Pork ribs. They have specials every day and that day they had pork ribs special. The quantity of food is good to fill up your stomach. I loved the beef. It was soft and juicy with a nice touch of sauce and onion and potatoes. The potatoes were soft from inside but had been made crisp from outside. It was perfect combination to go with the beef. The pork ribs were also nice and come with a small serving of cheese and pasta. The stuffed pasta usually comes with chicken but since my sister is a vegetarian they removed the chicken from the recipe for her. We also got the dessert. We ordered chocolate caramel tart and toffee pudding. They were also both nice. The toffee pudding was a bit sweeter and the caramel tart was a bit bitter. But they were nice to have small bites and share among four of us. All in all it was an amazing experience. I would definitely come here again. I recommend it!

I often come for special occasions but tonight stopped for their Thursday night fish fry- $12 for a delicious arrangement of bites and a beer! The liver paté was a knockout of flavour awesomeness. (It comes with onion rings!!) Had the chicken and veg for the main which was rich and delicious. Thanks for the amazing service and delicious food. Great for dining- or coming in and grabbing a solo seat at the bar. Highly recommend.

We went to Hearth to celebrate my sister’s birthday. I was surprised to see how crowded the restaurant was considering the extreme cold warning. The service was friendly and professional.I liked the limited menu. I had the liver/onion ring and my husband had the carrot appetizers. The liver appetizer was unique but I didn’t like it. The carrot appetizer tasted like steamed carrot but hummus was really good! For the main course, we both has the trout. I wasn’t impressed but my husband really enjoyed it. I think it was undercooked. I liked the vintage plates but I don’t think I go back any time soon.

Nice atmosphere and accommodating, considering we didn't have a reservation. Service was nice. The menu was limited but that's ok for a smaller restaurant. Was not impressed with the food though. I had the trout which I found to be well presented but just too greasy and overcooked. Skin was quite crisp and chewy. Accompanying salad was also over dressed. Overall, it was ok but I am unlikely to eat here again.

The skin was just a bit crispy, it had a lovely lemony flavor, the potatoes had a perfect crunch, and the added chanterelles were a treat. The atmosphere is cute and intimate. Its price point is higher, but that comes with good ingredients. I'd recommend eating here.

Perfect for date night! Cute local spot with fresh food and great service. Wine - Reasonably priced bottles of good quality wine for $40- $80 Appetizer - locally sourced fish, served ceviche style. Mains - carrot and pea tortellini (so good) & the beef (chewy). Desert - Cheesecake. (The Carmel pieces were delicious), The cheesecake was chocolate and fluffy.

I can not say enough good things about this place. This little crack in the wall has no more than 20 tables, absolutely love the mis-matched china soft glow atmosphere! If that is not enough to make you live this place the great food, amazing staff and fair pricing will I went as a work get together but would highly suggest for a romanic date night or even a night out with mom - just me she will not be disappointed. The cheesy mushroom appetizer was our favorite! We also enjoyed the fish fry appetizer, as well as the chicken and the beef dishes for our entrées. The beef dish had these epic scalloped potato cubes and with the chicken was a fresh mix alongside some interesting gnocchi-esque morsels. Yum!

The Hearth gets top marks for collecting local ingredients and ensuring the plates are seasonally fresh. It is a pity their front house staff are missing training. We had a server that did not know any etiquette! They could certainly elevate their service to match the quality food with front of house training.

tl;dr: New place worth trying out My wife and I went to a work function here and I was pleasantly surprised. This place has the Broadway- feel to it and has great, interesting food. I would not call them exotic; instead the menu items are unique, flavourful, and filling. For thirsty people like myself, they have good wine and on-tap, local beer. I could see myself taking a special someone on date here (first or otherwise). I will definitely go back.

Hearth lives up to its hype! The food is delicious, fairly priced, and well portioned. Further, the owners of Hearth went out of their way to make our day special. We were supposed to be getting married, but had to postpone due to covid. We decided to still celebrate the day by going out for a nice meal. The owners found out about why we were there, and covered our entire meal. I’m sure they could have used the money, especially post-covid lockdown. We would never have expected this, and were absolutely speechless at the generosity and compassion shown by this young couple. We will be lifetime customers, not only because of this gesture, but because their food and atmosphere are truly one of a kind. Thank you, Hearth!

It's not often that something lives up to the hype surrounding it, especially restaurants. Hearth on the other hand, exceeded all hype and expectations. It took us a few weeks to get a reservation time that worked for us, but again, it makes sense because it is so good. One thing that surprised me was the food was completely unpretentious. It was creative and delicious, but definitely fits right into Saskatchewan. The Ploughman's Snack has garlic sausage, cheese, rye crackers and pickles. They have chicken schnitzel, trout, steak and potatoes. They aren't trying to bring Vancouver or Toronto to Saskatoon, they are making amazing, delicious prairie food. The portions were also surprisingly large. Based on reviews I read, I thought it was going to be a 'tiny food' restaurant, but the portions were generous. We actually ordered too much food and had to take home leftovers. The prices are also completely reasonable and are very much like a chain restaurant like Earl's, Cactus Club or Olive Garden, but the food is such better quality. I honestly can't wait to go back.

The inventive, yet seemingly humble dishes are expertly executed with an attention to detail you don’t see very often. Amazing food, service and cocktails. My wife and I did the 5 course tasting menu and it was very Impressive. The mishroom course was sensational, which makes sense as there is an obvious love for mushrooms in this place. The beef brisket and sirloin was melt in your mouth tender.... the preparation of the scalloped potato was one of the most creative ways you could create a scallop potato... everything was fantastic. I ordered an old fashioned and a Manhattan and they were amazingly good.. some ofcthe best I have ever had. My wife got the vicious circle, a house special and it was next level tasty!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for a couple or a date, very intimate setting with fantastic service.

There are few restaurants that embody Saskatchewan cuisine as well as Hearth. I love this restaurant's dedication to serving quality, local ingredients (and, in some cases, ingredients they forage themselves), but the undeniably inviting atmosphere and welcoming attitude of its staff helps take a meal here to the next level. They have many signature dishes here; the ice cream sandwich, though ever-changing, is not to be missed. Their fish wings are crispy delicious and the mushrooms in mornay sauce (aka the "mushrooms" appetizer) are a must-order EVERY TIME so check that lactose intolerance at the door, ok? ;)

Myself and my partner have eaten here a few times now, and have taken out once, and they never disappoint! Mushroom appitizer is always a must. Our servers are always very well versed in their menu and drinks, pick up experience was pleasant. You're supposed to text a number, but someone came out promptly and asked for my name and brought it out for me quickly. We will be back again... and again after that and likely another time after that.

If you are looking for Saskatoon's hidden gem of restaurants, Hearth is definitely it. It is off the beaten path in a small strip mall between a church and a barbershop. Don't let this fool you though, inside is a great restaurant atmosphere. It is probably best to make a reservation as it gets quite busy around 6pm (or at least it did when we were there). The food was delicious, made from scratch with local ingredients. The flavour explosion in your mouth was a breath of fresh air from the chain restaurants. The cocktails were also superb, I suggest the paper airplane. Our only regret is not trying dessert. We will be back again!

Your restaurant needs to pay more attention to detail. Burnt crustinis were served with your mushroom appetizer- unacceptable. Perogies were burnt on the bottom. This should never have been allowed to leave the kitchen. You need an expediter to check each plate as it comes out of the kitchen so as to eliminate plates being sent back. Thanks.

The dîner was magnifique. The poached trout was a different style to the common to the trout meunière. Panna Cotta creamy aromatized with vanilla was our favorite. Went a couple of days ago with friends. The experience was awesome. Very nice restaurant and the staff were very friendly. We had made a reservation for 6 but somehow, they got us at 4. No problem, our table was reset and we were able to be seated, although a little tight since we ended up in a booth. Food was exceptional. We ended up ordering the Trout and the Chicken. Very tasty. Totally awesome. Portions was light but that was okay since the taste was that good. Presentation was also well done. Prices on the higher side but well worth it. Only complaint was that the benches need cushions. After sitting there for nearly 2 hours, you really feel it. I need more cushioning on my butt....

HIGHLY recommend! We had a reservation which I would suggest as it was quite busy when we arrived. The sitting was modern and intimate, not too loud. Our server was super friendly and timely. We had the features appie plus the mushrooms and chicken liver parfait - AMAZING! Even my mushroom haters loved it. We had four different mains which were good portions and all cooked to perfection. We will be back.

Very few gluten free options which I can handle. What annoys me the most was the service. Was sitting at the bar and service was disjointed at best. Decided to just have a drink with my friend and no food - the mulled wine which was amazing, great flavours and good temperature. It seemed as soon as we said just drinks the attitude of our server/bartender totally changed. Got completely ignored by the male bartender and every server who came behind the bar to chat with him for at least 25 minutes (when we start paying attention to the time passing). Finally were asked if we wanted another said nope - typically as a server this is a hint to give the bill. Guess not. Asked again 15-20 minutes later if we wanted a drink (even though our drinks were empty the first time). Said no and had to catch him before he took off again to get our bill. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, was not too busy but tables around us even seemed to be lacking that consistent service other Saskatoon restaurants provide. I am all for a chill environment but you still need to provide that basic level of service to survive.
