You can't visit Sarnia, Ontario without visiting Paddy Flaherty's. Good food, friendly waitresses in Irish dress, and good beer. The location is great, too, right next to the water by the Blue Water Bridge. As an American I enjoyed a favorable exchange rate by paying with a credit card. Highly recommended.

Went here recently with a picky child. He loved the chicken and waffles. I had the lamb shank and it was also quite good. I've also had the chance to see behind the scenes and the kitchen is clean and I saw very little if any frozen pre-made food.

Wow. The chicken sandwich was outrageous. Food hit the spot for someone who has to eat gluten-free. My only complaint was when I called and asked about cross contamination in their fryers, the lady said “Well we use the same fryer as gluten items but the temperature gets so hot that it probably burns the gluten off”. This is a terribly false statement lacking scientific knowledge. Instead of saying that, I think it’s best to just tell people Yes, there’s a high chance of cross contamination from food in the fryer. Other than that, the food and service was top notch at a fair price. $4 for the additional veggies was a bit steep, but I wasn’t complaining about it while gobbling the tasty food down. Thanks again!

The Burgers are great here, as well as the Fish and Chips, the Flatbread Pizzas are Scrumptious...Everything is Great. If you go on Thursday? Friday or Saturday, stick around for the fabulous bands, always interesting music and a good crowd! I highly recommended this restaurant.

Wife and I hadn't been able to actually go out for the past 6 + years due to busy lifestyle (fostering) and with Covid it just makes it harder. Although we couldn't dine in, we ordered the food because of some reviews we seen. We packed our own dishes, cutlery, tablecloth, glasses and took our meal to a park. We'll the food smelt awesome durring our ride to the park and tasted even awesomer (not a real word lol) when we had everything set. Thank you Paddy Flaherty's for making our night out a grand one!!!

Food is satisfactory but the service is terrible, did not feel welcome at all. Condenscending middle aged Karen staring at me when I'm paying, brings me soapy cup (my GF and her brother get wine glasses even though I'm paying), never checks up on us. machine only allows minimum tip of %15 so I'm forced to give her a tip even tho she doesn't deserve it. Wish we had a different waitress.

My wife and I decided to go on a date night and actually ate inside a restaurant for the first time in quite a while, so we figured we’d go to one of our long-time faves. Paddy’s did not disappoint for either of us. The COVID-19 protocol’s were followed and went off quickly with no issues. The food was fabulous and the service was exceptional, just like we remember. Came here through a recommendation from a local hotel and it being one of the higher rated restaurants in the area and couldn't have been more disappointed in the service and food. The greeter basically tossed our menus on the table and ran off. Our server although friendly, was incredibly inattentive and will often leave you alone for extended periods. I've watched them mistakenly clear plates from neighbouring table before they were finished without asking. Additionally they left us with the card machine and didn't even come back before we left and after we paid. About the food, I didn't bother/forgot to take photos but there's nothing special about the food.

Excellent experience! I was on my own as I am travelling for business... I was greeted by a staff member who was tending bar & was seated very quickly in a great spot facing the water. Meal & drinks were outstanding. The server was Jody I believe and was a true pro! Chef made an amazing Arugula & Radicchio salad to go along with my main dish. Really great meal at a great spot!

Food was ok - we ordered fettuccine pasta with shrimp and when we got the bill, noticed we were charged $2 extra for parmesan cheese in connection with which the waitress stated there's an extra charge if not mentioned in menu - I thought parmesan was pretty well ubiquitous with pasta but not at this location - whatever it is what it is and our own recourse is we won't be back

The pie was a bit dry and the fish tacos were just okay. I didn't know I was getting a salad with my meal otherwise I would have told my waiter what kind of dressing I liked... the strongbow dry cider was really good, I would recommend it if you're going for a drink.

This is a legit Irish Pub. Lot's of different beers on order and always has a special. Kid's menu is great. Bangers and Mash A1! You'll have a bar view, or a view of the dock where huge cargo ships sit, or the marina if your on the patio.

Used to be one of my favorite bars in town, food quality has dropped while prices have gone way up. Food I've ordered had either been overcooked, or undercooked, dont often enjoy my meals there anymore. Atmosphere is great tho, and the staff are friendly.

Sightly upscale Irish pub that might be a little pricier most ($15 burger & fries) but definitely has decent food and drink. Everything we have tried so far is quite tasty. Burger is well made with fresh bun and toppings. Fries are really good. Poutine gravy is decent. Irish type fare such as Sheppard's pie and other meat pies are quite good. Wine selection is much better than most other pubs. Beer selection is also good. Wait staff is quite pleasant. Atmosphere definitely has that warm pub feel to it. Sometime outdoor patio one of the best is Sarnia.

Saw the great reviews but hesitated on going here because of mediocre reviews of the same brand back home. What a mistake. This place is great! Has everything. Super atmosphere. Great view of the harbour. (There was a huge freighter docked 50yds. from our our table). The food was perfect and the service was superior. I was initially dissappointed when I saw they had "shephard pied" the mini yorkies....till I tasted them...so genius. They had run out of calimari for the seafood fry up so they substituted more of the other stuff ( shrimp, etc) which was fine by me. Mia, our server, was owning that patio so hard. She was allover every empty plate and glass offering a new drink order and giving updates on our orders throughout. She never walked by our table without saying something like"I'll be right back with your drinks guys"....so attentive....and it was biiiiizy! So go there. It's awesome.

The steak I ordered was a bad cut. It tasted like liver, which indicates that the meat had a blood spot and causes it to taste like liver. This happened to me on two different occasions. The service was excellent and the chef was accommodating towards my meal. However, with it happening on two different occasions, I had to leave a 3 star. Everything else was great. Just not the steak!

Just recently ordered from Paddy’s. We picked our meal up and after returning home we noticed my sisters sandwich was wrong. We called to tell them what happened, they apologized. They made the right sandwich and the boss delivered it to our home in less than 10 minutes!! He also threw in a piece of cheesecake! Very very impressed, very happy with the service. Will definitely be going back:)

Once one of my fave places to eat in Sarnia. Great service, great beer selection, live music, outdoor dining available (seasonal.) Irish pub themed, although over time the menu has gradually migrated away from traditional pub fare, and so it feels more like it used to be a pub, but became more of a Ruby Tuesdays with short skirts and nice woodwork.

Good food, but mediocre customer service. Most unmemorable experience was being seated for 40 minutes, having our food order taken, and then no food received for over 45 minutes. Tables sat after us received sustenance before we did. Our group of 8 ended up leaving, with no sort of compensation from management for our 90+ minutes of wasted time. A brief "sorry" from the manager on duty was all that was received.

Three words: oh my God. The food here was so f*&$ing good! Absolutely incredible. I had the salmon leek pie which was delicious and super reasonably priced plus it came with your choice of salad! My coworker had the chicken sandwich and said it was the best sandwich she's ever had. Super great menu, super amazing food, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The atmosphere was great too - super chill but nice. Definitely fits the Irish theme. To emphasize - we came after a long drive so were eating in sweatpants and hoodies and they didn't make us feel out of place or uncomfortable or judged at all. Also, we're going to try and visit Sarnia more just to come back for the food!!!

Fish and chips.... It was huge slabs of fish and wish I had got One instead of two.... Mostly a pub but good fish. Great early atmosphere and not sure what's it's like later. It was packed bit service was gast and wonderfully friendly. I will be back here again when in Sarnia.

What a great place to go. As soon as I walked into this Pub I felt comfortable, like I had been there many times. This was my first time. Being on my own I opted to sit at the bar. I was greeted by Mike with a handshake and a welcome. Ordered my beer and looked around. Beautiful inside, clean and cozy. I ordered the butter chicken. It came with Jasmin rice and naan bread. Portions were great, taste was out of this world! I look forward to returning to Paddy Flaherty's Irish Pub. This was a last minute decision to stay in Sarnia at the Harbourfront Inn and Suites overnight and was the best decision.

Great experience. Perfect little Irish place with fun menu options. Food is very filling and I was completely surprised with the quality of the house salad. It far exceeded my expectations! Good view of the water but because the interior of the building is on the darker side, the outdoor lighting can make your eyes feel sensitive. Staff was attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend!

Last night after visiting my wife's grandmother at the nursing home her family decided to get some food and drinks. We we're seated inside in the turret having a good time. Until I ordered some scotch, when I got it it was contaminated with some poplar seed. I immediately went to the waitress near the bar and asked for another glass. She handed it to the grey haired man bun bar tender guy who did not see me and proceeded to try and fish it out with his finger. Then the waitress told him I was right there watching him. A little horrified he got caught he rinsed out the glass and refilled it. He asked me if I was sitting outside I said no. It was the talk of our table when I got back. And our co-workers thought it was funny but rude. Now every time someone mentions Paddies I tell them they should try the "Finger Scotch". Moral of the story don't send your food or drink back here unless you like finger food.

We came here with some relatives staying with us from out of town and everyone enjoyed it. Being Irish themselves, one of our family members weren't overly impressed with the shepherd's pie, but that's okay nobody makes it the same as mum! I loved the fish tacos!! I was really disappointed that the coleslaw had poppy seeds as I'm allergic and can't pick that out and love coleslaw but that doesn't affect the rating i gave because that's just me lol

Seems like a really great restaurant. I think they had some new people in training or something. Not a full restaurant but relatively crowded. They had a 15 min wait on food and they were out of cinnamon for their specialty bourbon drinks. The little sliders were excellent and the Bullet Bourbon was great just over ice. The few regulars I talked to said it's not normally so slow.

Paddy Flaherty's is one of the best places in Sarnia for a casual dinner out, and live music if your timing is right. The food is great, selection of beverages even better and the staff is friendly. Prices are very reasonable for their generous portion sizes. Be prepared to take some leftovers home!

Great selection of Beer on tap. Also, their blarney chips are awesome when you’ve had a few. Their food leaves a lot to be desired though. Their fish and chips are not very good and the last time I had a pie there it was undercooked and doughy. Shame really as they used to be a favourite of mine a few years back.

Love this patio! The staff is very super friendly despite their jobs likely being far more difficult these days. They are always happy to recommend a drink or a meal, and have seem to have great memories for repeat clients (or maybe that's a sign I like this patio a bit too much).

You gotta try their pies, they are delicious!!. This is one of the few pubs in towns that offer european soccer on tv, however they don't have enough screens. The patio is nice and the view is beautiful.

Unfortunately, the quality of the dishes have vastly declined in the past year. the chowder went from made on site to using campbell's canned chowder and adding some salmon to it. The steak pie became stale and the gravy tastes fake. The shrimp pasta dish basically tastes like buttered noodles. I remember when this place had great quality dishes all around that were unique and hearty. Sad that Paddy's has sacrificed on quality of ingredients for the sake of profit. Would've recommended a year ago. Not anymore.

Mediocre food that was really overpriced. I had the butter chicken which lacked pretty much any flavor and I could tell pieces of chicken were very close to being undercooked. My girlfriend had a steak ordered medium rare which came out barely rare at best. There is way better food in sarnia for better prices. Service was weak as well. Wont be back.

I'm a little sad that they took some of my favourite things off the menu but I get that things change. However, I've had the chicken Alfredo and the lobster mac and cheese since their new menu and I really can't get on board with it. The Alfredo sauce was very bland and almost had the same consistency as the Alfredo from Boston pizza. It tasted really processed, like from a jar or something. Obviously I'm not expecting it to taste like someone's Italian grandmother made it but I really wasn't expecting it to taste like Boston Pizza Alfredo. I was so excited about the Lobster mac and cheese but I was disappointed again. I had a bunch of shrimp pieces that tasted like they were starting to go off and maybe 2 or 3 bites of actual lobster. I wasn't expecting there to be more shrimp in a dish that was named after a lobster so that was disappointing. I also tried the pubs bacon cheese burger which at first I thought had a nice char on it but it was actually really charred so that took away from it. The service has always been great every time I've gone there and the inside is beautiful, nice atmosphere.

Third time here and I feel guilty not writing a review. This is a great Irish style pub with all the traditional home type Irish pub food you'd expect. The staff here seem to be a huge selling point on me returning. Being from Alberta I love my beer. These people know their beer. Over 22 on tap this evening, featuring numerous local crafts to choose from. This makes me happy. Supporting large breweries is a thing of the past when you can support real people trying to feed their families. And the added bonus. The beer taste better. I had numerous questions about their draught selection and was promptly brought over a small flight of IPA's. No charge btw. Found one that was a bit different and I was on my way. Now for supper. I've always been a huge fan of the steak much room dish. It's all in a huge Yorkshire pudding. With an added sticky toffee pudding to finish will ensure a good nights sleep. It's homey here. Great atmosphere and high energ and helpful staff. Great job all!

Poor service and mediocre food. Husband asked what the drink specials were and after ordering, we realized she didn't tell him all the options. Much of the food is over-priced. Food took an hour to arrive. Server had advised us that the veggie burger patty had changed but when we got it, all the toppings were different than what was on the menu. The burger was mediocre. Bill was incorrect (they had put billed us for the wrong drink). Won't be back here.

Great food, great atmosphere! The Guiness steak and mushroom pot pie was delicious and the sauce and beef were well integrated and the button mushrooms were crisp and not overcooked. The fish and chips were also top notch and are definite must try!

We went in late afternoon for supper which was great. There was a special 2 for $19.99, Shepherds Pie with soup include. The soup was Cabbage Roll Soup and was delicious and then came out the main which was also great and super hot. The desserts we chose were Brownies and Ice Cream for my wife and Sticky Toffee Pudding with a great sauce and ice cream. Needless to say, everything was fantastic and our server was a very friendly and helpful young lady. We couldn't ask for better food or service and left for home happy and full as a tick. High recommendations for food and service at Paddy's.

What a difference a month makes! Most of our group went with the Brunch menu which I highly recommend. The Morning Burger, Benny, amazing French Toast became fast favorites with everyone. So many great choices that we simply must come back! Thanks Scott! Service and food were great!!!

Honestly the best food I've eaten in Sarnia. Was a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I went on a busy night with the girlfriend and was extremely satisfied. Although it was busy I was still served quickly and professionally. They serve amazing gravy, highly recommend! Also who would have thought, but the desert was to die for... Was all around a great experience and I would HIGHLY recommend this place to travelers and people visiting Sarina. The view is also great on the outside section of the restaurant, where I was seated.

The waitress was pleasant, very knowledgeable, courteous. Her service was very good, and quite fast, even though they were busy. The food was tasty, well presented and hot. My only complaint was there was no curtain or blind on the window, and it was quite warm and blinding in the sun. I have been here numerous times, all my meals have been good.

First time there with the fam. We are new to Sarnia and this was overall one of the best experiences we have had at a restaurant since moving here. We arrived on a Friday night on a long weekend so there was a wait time of 30 min. To be expected. We sat at the bar with the kids. Our bartender greeted the kids having great convo with them and entertaining them. We didnt wait long at all before our table was ready! Kids were excited to find goldfish snacks waiting for them. Nice touch! We ordered the lamb shank, yorkshire wrap and the kids had cheeseburgers. Everyone cleared their plates. I loved the combo of flavours of the chicken and yorkshire. I also had chips and guac, and the guac was fantastic!! Even my 6 year old loved it. Service was friendly, attentive. We felt at "home" and appreciated being there. This is will definitely become a frequent visit for our family. Looking forward to coming back and trying more delicious things off the menu!

Cod sandwich tasted like pine-sol. Used to be two nice crispy pieces, but now it tasted and felt like it was just floured and dropped in grease. On top of that it was way overcooked. It wasnt beer battered or breaded. Reuben was also soggy bread, like it was soaked in left over butter and grease on a flattop. Service was fine tho

We had a group of about 10 and were able to order, receive our food, and eat within an hour, but the restaurant was not the busiest. We had a few people order vegetarian dishes and they had a good selection and thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. I ordered the chicken and waffles with honey. The chicken tenders were a good size, very moist, and a tiny bit of spice. The waffles I found a bit too sweet and crumbly, especially with the honey, but still pretty tasty.

Really great spot in Sarnia. Food is great, service is great, beer selection is even better. Love the atmosphere in this place, very cozy and welcoming. Very much enjoy the pattio here as well. Only downside I would say is that you can't make a reservation for the pattio. Wanted to go with a group of 25 people but they wouldn't let us reserve a spot so it was ready to go when we got there. Still ended up going as it's an amazing spot but had to wait for tables to be arranged. A must visit place when in Sarnia, miss out and you will be disappointed.

First year ever we chose to go out. It was cold rainy and damp outside. Went to Paddy’s as we always have a wonderful meal. Veronica looked after us and serviced us well. The Blarney Chips with extras never disappoint. I had a pound of wings, but after the Blarney Chips, I was too full. ha ha my friend had the Rueben and was very pleased. Thanks for the home cooked food and the good service.

Third time here and I feel guilty not writing a review. This is a great Irish style pub with all the traditional home type Irish pub food you'd expect. The staff here seem to be a huge selling point on me returning. Being from Alberta I love my beer. These people know their beer. Over 22 on tap this evening, featuring numerous local crafts to choose from. This makes me happy. Supporting large breweries is a thing of the past when you can support real people trying to feed their families. And the added bonus. The beer taste better. I had numerous questions about their draught selection and was promptly brought over a small flight of IPA's. No charge btw. Found one that was a bit different and I was on my way. Now for supper. I've always been a huge fan of the steak much room dish. It's all in a huge Yorkshire pudding. With an added sticky toffee pudding to finish will ensure a good nights sleep. It's homey here. Great atmosphere and high energ and helpful staff. Great job all!

The food was decent and the service was great. I had the fish and chips and the single filet was more than enough. They have a few beers to choose from. They have a patio overlooking the water and there are also some areas inside with a view of the water.

Great food and drinks. Very friendly staff. If you come to visit and you are a fan of beer, you have to try Barking Squirrel! They also have live music. The patio is magical at night with all the lights and waterfront view. Definitely a place to visit.

Great place for drinks and live music! What a wonderful place. Never had a problem here. There is a beautiful bar in the middle of the spot. Wonderful outset seating on a summer night looking into the harbour. The food here is delicious and I always suggest the wings or appetizers. They have a great beer selection and it's a staple for people like me that come off the ships for a drink. I'll be there this weekend again!

Very disappointed to be chased down by the waitress, 15 mins after paying the bill, to be told we shorted her by $20. We had paid the bill in full, plus a generous tip, and made sure she had the money in her hand before leaving the table. So embarrassing!

New menu, and an outdoor seating area for dogs that bring people. Always love the shepherds pie, especially their mini Yorkies. And apparently the building was built in, then torn down from.Dublin Ireland, and shipped and rebuilt here. It's an excellent pub.

Great food, great service and a large selection of drinks. My only issue is that the the owners wife keeps coming in drunk, serving herself and her friends and is constantly pestering the musicians. They are not a big supporter of local artists as well but cater to 'lesser' musically talented out of town acts.

A nice place to check out I was alittle disappointed with food it tasted slightly bland but was cooked to perfection. Beer and Whiskey selection was good but music was alittle sleep provoking defenetly would have preferred the live music be an Irish band expecally since it was the first Friday of the month.

What a great restaurant. The atmosphere is like none other and the food was delicious. It took a little bit of time for our order, but definitely worth the wait. Nice to see a staff that worked so well as a team. It seemed like we had 4 or 5 people who were always ready and willing to help or grab something we needed.

Ordered steak and fries with sauteed mushroom. Steak arrived without mushroom and informed me after hand. The steak is dry af and i ordered medium, steak is unseasoned tasted like it was boiled. Service is very slow. Damnnn this place is bad. Save yourself, get McDonalds instead.
