It’s been a while since I ate at John’s and I was happy to find the service and food continues to be good. Vig was our server and he was very attentive and professional. He ensured he had our order correct and made sure we had all we needed along with regular coffee refills. I had a small Greek salad to start and it was super fresh and delicious. The Tilapia was perfectly cooked and it was a good sized serving. I would have liked to have had a choice of vegetables, I always like their green beans, but received corn which I don’t eat. The restaurant was clean, there were plenty of servers and the service was very good. If you haven’t been I recommend a visit to John’s.

Everything you'd expect out of a diner: Classic menu, good service, great prices. We visited Camlachie for a wedding and Googled nearby restaurants. We're glad John's is the one we chose. Everyone was pleasant and the ordering/food/bill were always quick. Highly recommend!

A wide selection of menu items. $5.00 for craft beer drafts. I had the German Schnitzel. It was a huge! The green beans were farm fresh the home fries were perfect!! If your not sure of where you want to eat. Give John's a try. You won't be disappointed!!

I went for breakfast with my mom for my birthday and really enjoyed myself. It is a bright enjoyable atmosphere, with friendly, quick and prompt service. Regular coffee refills and huge portion sizes. For Covid-19 guidelines, they allow dining in, and ask that you wear your mask preferably until the food arrives to avoid unmasked exposure times... we did not and they were understanding. I had a great time and made an awesome memory. BTW - they also have AWESOME THANKSGIVING DINNER, MAKE A RESERVATION, ITS A THING. Seasonal Patio service is also offered. ????

Having been regular customers at John's for the past three years, we have become increasingly disappointed with the food and service. On the last four occasions the orders have not been correct and for the last three, the food has been less than desirable. Last week my son had a steak that was barely heated despite asking for it to be a medium . Tonight, both my husband & I ordered medium NY strip steaks and they and the fries were well over cooked and inedible. We were offered an upgrade on the dessert as compensation so we requested the lemon meringue pie. It tasted like soap and we couldn't eat it. We are very disappointed with the downturn in quality and service and will not be returning any time soon!

This was the most disgusting excuse of a meal! Not only was the wait 45 minutes but they didn't even get the order correct and the food was not cooked through!!! People of this area rant and rave about this "famous bacon" restaurant and all I have to say is Sarnia you need to get out more and try real food!!!

I have never been disappointed with a meal here. My husband and I were craving souvlaki, and thought we would try John's. We had the chicken and the pork souvlaki dinners.; both were flavourful and authentic, portions were great, and the greek salad and fries were also very good. We will return for sure next time we arein the mood for great greek takeout!

The hamburger tasted like it came out of a box. Our table server was not very attentive as I had to go up ask for our cutlery and the coffee refill came after a very long wait. As far as the breakfast plate was, yes that was as before very well prepared.

The meal itself is very hearty (huge portions). They have alot of choices on types of bread, eggs are done right (poached or sunny side up). Would recommend the big john sausage breakfast. Honestly you cant go wrong. Might have to wait a bit on weekend branch depending if you get there before church ends. Plenty of parking.

Dined here for Canadian Thanksgiving and the food was great. Real deal turkey, stuffing, and gravy. We were a large group who had made reservations and seating was waiting for us when we arrived. There were minor errors with some food and drink orders, but the friendly service from the young staff more than made up for it. We left at 6:30 pm and the place was near capacity. Will be returning.

I hate eggs, but loved the great service from Liz and the food MMMMMMMMMMMM great. I do suggest you check out this place. It is worth driving a few cities over for. They have nice booths, clean washrooms and fast service. Once again Liz is great. From the time I walked in the door. I was hoping she would serve me. Seeing how she interacted with fellow staff and expedited orders was noticed quickly.

We ordered the Gyros family meal deal - and it was amazing! Five full gyros is what it made, with meat left over. A huge tray of Greek potatoes (which were fabulous), huge tray of Greek salad, and all the toppings for gyros including tzatziki. Let me tell you, we were stuffed and have enough for leftovers.

This place has been here for years but has been renovated and offers a clean, bright environment. The owner is an owner-operator who visits table (partly to bus in busy periods) and is genuinely interested in how your experience is going. Staff are patient and efficient. This is a quality 'Diner' with a long-standing reputation for excellent breakfasts as well as lunch or quick dinners.

Great food but there wasn't much social distancing although they do ask you to write your name down just about every table was full. It was abit of an uneasy feeling sitting down with my mother who is up in years but loves to eat out. My older sister ate there with us also. Note, the restaurant had extra plexi glass around the tables for your or other people's protection.

A classic dinner! Not fancy, but definitely good. Great for a Saturday morning after a Friday night out, or maybe a bite to full you up for Sunday lunch. With hearty portions and lots of seating, you're likely to be satisfied with your meal experience. I have been working night shift and went for breakfast at 5:00 pm while my wife had a dinner. I was able to have a coffee while she got an adult beverage. What more do you want!?

Good place for a weekend breakfast. Sundays morning busy, large menu lots of choices, enough for us vegetarians to get something to eat. Good local involvement in sponsorship of local youth sport teams Just went back really really good breakfast .....added a star now I rate at five stars

Excellent burgers and souvlaki. Delicious breakfast options, especially the Canadian bacon. Menu is HUGE...first time here the menu was kind of overwhelming (especially if you're indecisive like me) but second time was a little easier. Nice diner atmosphere! If you like diner foods you will like this place. Varying customer service..sometimes we get a really good server, other times not so much (but I've never had a negative experience with the servers).

The food here is really good and as close to homemade as you will find. Their menu is impressive with lots of choice and everything tastes pretty good. Last time I went it was clear they were either short staffed or need to hire more waiters/waitresses because the place was busy with an entire 2 of them working the whole floor. We saw out waiter a total of 2 times during our stay which sucks when their cups are the size of a small childs cup and you ordered a refillable drink.

John's is the same as it's always been, and that's why it's so great. Still has stools at the bar and family pictures on the wall, still proudly serving huge portions. Our waitress alone was 5-stars. (Didn't get her name, but we were in the front corner booth.) My only critique is that "chocolate chip pancakes" are not pancakes with a few chocolate chips on top. Other than that, it's always a great meal and a cool experience. Never change, John's.

During the pandemic my spouse has ordered a bunch of take out through Skip the Dishes, and the food is consistently underwhelming. To be fair it is a reasonable price, good portions, and they offer all day breakfast. I would give it a four star if I thought I could have a nice breakfast with a soft poached egg and lightly toasted rye bread.

Sunday night we ordered 6 meals for take out. We were given a time to pick our meals up. We showed up on time, then we had to sit another 25 minutes. We live a couple minutes drive away from the restaurant. When we got home, all our meals were stone cold and gross. The lettuce that was used was brown. We called and told them about the meals, asked how long our meals were sitting before we got them. As the food was cold and appeared to be sitting for a while. But they didn't care. It was one of our favourite family restaurants. But after spending close to $100 and getting cold meals. We will never order food from this place again. I would prefer to give this rating zero stars. But it would not allow me to do so.

Pass by this restaurant all the time and decided to stop in and check it out. I walked in and sat down right away. The girl came with coffee right away assuming I wanted coffee. It smelt fresh and hot so of course I took it. It seemed like a mom and pop place. It was nice and cozy and the food was fresh, hot and comforting. Really really good. I will definately stop in there again when I'm passing thru.

I used to love this place for food. I don't know what happened? I ordered the steak tacos as my meal. They were absolutely terrible. The torillas were hard and crunchy, almost stale, The steak was fatty and tasted boiled, They used the wrong type of cheese with the tacos and they were absolutely flavourless!! No Taco seasoning, literally nothing. Thank god they gave me Tobasco sauce. The fries were cold. Never had food this bad from this place. just disappointing!

Best breakfast in town! My daughter and I had the Eggs Benedict. We should've asked for our potatoes well-done but it really hit the spot on a late Saturday morning. The hosts were so friendly and made an effort to chat with my daughter. Our server Heather was a ray of sunshine! We always hope to be seated in her section.

I’ve been going to John’s ever since I was a little kid and have always enjoyed the food and the service until today. After a mis-advertised price on the menu we asked for our bill to be fixed to the proper price. We were then approached by the manager Theresa who told us that due to the holiday, prices have been changed. We were not given any prior notice of pricing changes nor a holiday menu with fixed prices. Theresa was extremely rude from the get go and assumed that we should know that the prices change on holidays as we have been to John’s before (I have never been aware of holiday pricing). I politely asked if we could have the bill fixed as it was an error on their part in which I was attacked back at by Theresa asking why I could not pay the extra money. The exchange ended in her crumpling up the bill in-front of me and my families faces and telling us to the leave the establishment. She even gave us a to-go coffee cup while slurring sarcastic comments which was extremely disrespectful. I never have or have ever felt the need to write a review on a restaurant before but this experience was the most disgusting dealing I’ve ever had with a restaurant employee and warranted a review. This will probably be the last time I ever step foot in the establishment again which is very upsetting as I have been coming here since I was a little kid.

We were visiting the city and two people recommend this place. So i dont know if we were just unlucky or because was a day before holiday. I ordered the chicken parmegiana, which is stated as a signature dish. They didn't have pasta (they serve only after 2pm and i ordered 1:55pm). So the other option was with potatoes and veggies, the dish comes with an entry (i got salary) and desert. So the salada was forgotten and came after the main. My dish was: a smal salty chicken (luckily i like salty food, but if you have high blood pressure stay away) 4 potatoes, and 1/3 of a canned corn. When i ask if the vegetables (plural) means corn only the waiter said yes (multiple corns maybe?). Obs i dont like corn if i was told would be like that I would have picked something else. And the dish just looked really depressing, unusual take pictures but not this time. The beer was also forgotten, had to order is twice. The dessert (chocolate pudding) was the only good thing. Ahh and the garlic bread with cheese also a safe choice. The waiter apologized for the service provided as she was super tired (we could tell actually). So despite all the negative experience i gave her the 15-18% tip. I am giving a bad review because my experience was bad. Again maybe just super unlucky. I would recommend next customer to stick to the greek dishes. Probably they will make is better as it is a greek restaurant.

Went to John's today for lunch and ordered the fish tacos - omg it was the most amazing meal and the portion was enough to feed two people!! It was so fantastic that I eat everything????. All the staff were smiling and laughing and service was A1. Can't wait to see their new patio!!! Great to have you open again

Old diner atmosphere. Great tasting food with lots of choices. Fantastic service from friendly staff. Fair prices. Good portions. Clean. I had the chicken tender meal and while that seems ordinary, the breading was thin and tasty. The cole slaw was unexpectedly vingar-based--Canadians love vinegar--and I loced the flavor. My friend enjoyed the perfectly cooked pork chop meal. It was a lot of food.

My family can been coming to John's for 3 generations. To me this place is like home. Friendly service and great food. We moved to BC a few years ago but I ordered Christmas dinner last year and this year for my mom. I appreciate how easy they made it for me to set this up and for her to enjoy during covid. The service was very fast and friendly. Eggs, I always order "over medium" and were cooked spot on. The grated hash browns were well...grated hash browns. The rye toast was uninspiring. I would just order white toast next time. Now my meat I'm fussy about and the peameal bacon was, for my taste, a little bland. The flavour was like very mild ham. I like a stronger more smokey flavour. I would try strip bacon next time if it's an option.
