The meal was great appetizer stuff crab mushrooms then a great salad. I had the 7 oz steak garlic mash potatoes with side of mushrooms done perfectly with broccoli n red pepper on the side. My sister had chicken with mash and same vegetables. It was excellent and we shared a piece of cherry cheesecake mmmmm.

We went there for a Christmas work party. One, there was no Christmas tree up . Two , I ordered a stir fry with teriyaki sauce and it was so spicy hot that I couldn't even finish it. Then to top it off they added the tip without even asking if that's ok. Will never go back there. It's a total rip off , prices r way too high.

FABULOUS ... Our Daughter told us that this is where she and her hubby go for fine dining, and they love it. I said, "REALLY?" It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I said to my hubby one evening, "let's try it!" We have eaten at many restaurants worldwide, and I have to tell you that this place ranks with the BEST of them! Inside, the ambiance is lovely, the service is excellent, and the food is to die for! We both had the Seafood Chowder, and it is in the top 3 of the best we've ever had, possibly the best! Prime Rib was just delicious! Everything was presented beautifully .. Loved it!!! Way to Go, Big Fish! Our compliments to the Chef!

We had not been here in awhile and were overjoyed with our dining experience. They advertise their clam chowder and it was amazing. Easily compares with chowders on the Eastern coast of the US. Creamy and lots of great flavours. Prime rib was tender and very unique with flavour.

Staff is polite; our waiter appeared a bit rushed tonight but I think that may just be his personality and he was attentive and polite. This is much more than a seafood restaurant with chicken, pork, steak and pasta on the menu.

We were in Sarnia for business. Decided to try Big Fish. First appearances were good. Nicely welcomed at the front door and we didn't have to wait for a table. Lady server came over and it went down hill from there. We ordered a drink a piece. Before we had even had time to sip we were given the "Specials of the Day" without pricing of course. The way she spoke made us uneasy and uncomfortable. Everything seemed to be a rush. We ordered the Oysters Rockefeller and the Shrimp Scampi. Both arrived cold. My oysters complete with bacon and cheese I sent back. Even the cheese hadn't melted. When she (the waitress) took them away and "re-heated" them they still came back cold. AND the cheese still wasn't melted. My husband's shrimp were not properly cooked either and his appetizer again was cold. We asked for the bill and left. First impressions are always important but this just didn't help our decision to leave. I can't imagine what the rest of the meal would have been like if we had decided to stay. the 'Host" asked us what was wrong and we didn't want to get into it as there were other customers waiting at the door. He came around the back as we were getting into our vehicle and again asked what was wrong as he had to know. We told him we were disappointed and left it at that. This place could have such potential. Perhaps it was the cook? But the wait staff was irritating, the host good. Perhaps it was a bad day for all of us. Will check out other fine dining in Sarnia before returning.

Nice ambience and wasn't too busy for lunch. We(group of 4) tried to calamari, fish tacos, the lamb Burger and seafood melt. The food took almost 20-25 minutes to arrive during it was almost empty but we believe it was because of the baked items. The portion sizes could have been a little bit bigger but in the end we felt pretty full. Overall good experience.

Wow! Just experienced a wonderful dining experience. We had our office Christmas Dinner there and we all enjoyed every minute and every mouthful. Our server was excellent, so helpful and very knowledgeable about all the meal and appetizer options. We chose the brie, the lobster and crab stuffed mushrooms, the flatbread and a flaming cheese appetizer, all so delicious. The main courses were just as exceptional and the presentation was beautiful. The portion sizes were very generous. A family owned and operated business which reflected the pride that was taken in every aspect, from the decor to the service and the food. Would highly recommend the Big Fish for a dinner party or an intimate dinner for two, will not be disappointed. Thank you for a memorable evening.

Amazing food, and I realize that the latest craze is to stack food but I prefer it when my lobster tail and steak are not stacked on top of mashed potatoes, but hey, that's just me :). Aside from that the food is delicious. Great atmosphere, at times it is louder than others but I blame the people drinking all the wine. If you have little ones be aware that there was only 1 high chair when I took my family there and it was in use by another family. Not a big issue for us but might be for some. Plenty of parking space and wheelchair accessible.

A slow start to the night..as our 730 reservation was pushed to almost 8pm.. the baked brie was awesome. . Solid menu.. although it is the big 'fish' the new York strip was nicely done with a demiglaze. . My wife enjoyed her rack of lamb as well.. the dessert of creme bulle was ok.... not great. .not bad.. overall was a pleasant evening

Food was okay. I paid $23 for a Greek salad with Chicken breast. I've been there for lunch in a Sunday around 12:30. The owner or manager, not sure, was seated in a corner watching videos in his phone. It was really laud, very annoying. They took 35 minutes to deliver a salad. When I was going to pay, they do not have tap, so make sure that you have your physical card on you before coming here. I made a comment saying they should look on upgrading their machine, and the waitress told me that it was not her problem, and she couldn't do anything about it. They do have a beautiful dining layout.

We started off with the mushrooms stuffed with lobster and crab. Although tasty, didn't get much crab or lobster. For our mains we had the tuna and surf and turf. The tuna tasted great as was lightly seared with a sweet sauce on the side. My steak and lobster was delicious and the garlic mash made the dish. Great place for a fancier night out.

We visited Big Fish to celebrate a family member's birthday on Sunday August 5. The interior was lovely as was the manner of our server. The entrées were well presented and generous. An issue arose however when the birthday guest bit into a hard bit of what appeared to be plastic in her mashed potatoes. This was brought to the server's attention and she brought the item to the kitchen for further examination - and returned with another serving of mashed potatoes. She was apologetic, but proceeded to inform our table that the item was likely a bit of potato or an onion. Neither I or any of the guests at our table have ever encountered an onion or a potato with a hard plastic texture with a bit of string attached to it. While irritated, we continued to enjoy our meal when a gentleman (apparently the owner) approached our table to inquire about our experience. We advised him of the concern and he thought perhaps a bit of saran wrap had fallen into the potatoes as they are 'covered with plastic wrap when they are prepared'. We indicated that the item was not plastic wrap, but rather a hard bit that appeared to be plastic. He said he would investigate and left our table. Our bill came and upon review noticed that even a minor gesture of removing a drink or dessert, let alone the offending entrée had not been made. We inquired and our server and she indicated she would see what she could do. The owner then returned to the table and was reminded of the issue and asked if any sort of discount would be granted due to the less-than-palatable addition to the meal in question. He replied that 'no there will be no deduction as it was likely a piece of potato or onion'. His manner was unapologetic and frankly arrogant. Even when visiting a fast-food chain employees are trained to address situations related to foreign objects in food. When entering the 'higher-end' spectrum of the dining world, one needs to provide impeccable guest service and accommodate errors with courtesy and humility. An establishment is only as strong as its satisfied customers. We will certainly not return to this restaurant. The experience left an unpleasant taste(and object) in our mouths and put a damper on an otherwise lovely birthday celebration.

I got the NY steak, it was honestly average, maybe even a bit below. Very tough, cooked more than I asked for, and not all that flavourful. Especially for $40, it should be much better. The saving grace of big fish though is their amazing appatizers and top notch service. If you decide to come to this fancy spot, make it an appy night!

Extremely convenient for truck drivers that are looking for a nicer meal on a day off or during a 10. Atmosphere is pleasant, staff is friendly, and service is decently quick. It is a fancy place, yes. You do get large portions for the price you pay. However, the drinks aren't anything better than those you get at say Crabby Joe's. The sours arent shaken in a glass but considered a mixed drink, which is strange to me. My dining companion got the salmon, and for who the chefs in the back are (told to be the chef-instructors at Lambton College), he found bones in his salmon. On the front of house side, the servers are quite personable and friendly. I'd go again for the wait staff, but not for the food. Looks pretty though.

And the bartender looked at me like I was stupid when I asked what style a beer was and simply replied "it's an ale." Otherwise, everything was great!

We usually go to Big Fish for lunch but decided on it for dinner this time. We are glad we did. The dinner was excellent. Two of us ordered the filet mignon. It came very nicely plated and the taste was fantastic. I ordered mine med rare and it was perfect, the other was medium and it was a little on the med rare side but they commented on how delicious it was. The cost Was on the higher side but what steak dinner out isn’t. The cost with one drink and tip was about $60.00 each.

Cheap oil opposed to butter with the lobster, food was cold when it arrived, rushed out the door until they saw the tip, decided to welcome me back again soon! Gus will make an appearance from the kitchen, attempt to borrow money off customers, no wonder I've heard complaints around town with the food. Hope you're still sober since borrowing off half the town, and your trips to Windsor. I would recommend Stratford Chef School's Student Dinners, and an hour drive, opposed to coming to this 'big fish' again. Save yourself the experience. Bar staff, wait staff, was polite and efficient.

The restaurant itself is fabulous. However my wife and I were given a $50 gift card that we lost, and sure that's completely our fault. 100% our fault. I called the restaurant to see if they simply had any sort of record of it, seeing as it's $50 on their books that I would think they would keep track of one way or another. I was told that "sorry about your loss but there's nothing we can do". After having lived in the US for 12 years I think I was duped into thinking that customer service existed everywhere, even in little ol'Sarnia, after all this isn't exatclty Walmart I'm dealing with. There was no attempt by the receptionist to find out when it was purchased, by whom it was purchased, or any sort of information taken to help us out. And I can assure you that this is not the first gift card that's gone missing in my life unfortunately, but the first time that the place of business can't seem to do anything about. Anyways, the restaurants food itself is great, which is why we have raved about it to our family and subsequently given a gift card for. This however changes our plans for not only dinner tonight, but any dinner in the future at this restaurant. Again, 100% our fault that the card is lost, sure, but the restaurants inability to take two seconds to even figure out if this is something that they could help us with is a loss in my books.

First time at the Big Fish. Friendly staff very knowledgeable about menu meals. Alot of customers there but the meals where tabled in a timely manner. Claim chowder... out of this world. Scallops were perfection. Halibut tender and steaks the way you like them. Lobster tails big bold and beautiful.

What a great place for dinner. Took my mom here. Waitress was very attentive. My mom ordered escargot. Wasn't the traditional way. More of a creamy sauce. She just set it aside because it was her mistake. However the owner walked by and noticed she didn't eat it. Explains when we come back just order it the traditional way with cheese and they will make it that way as well. He apologized and said it was his mistake he should have put both ways on the menu. Keep in mind the nice man took it off of the bill. Wonderful customer service all around. All the rest of the meal was absolutely delicious.

The staff and owners are all very friendly and this visit was no exception. I have been to Big Fish for large group parties and the food was exceptional. When I was there 3 years ago I had the salmon and it was yummy! It was not over cooked or fishy. This past visit however did not measure up for me. My salmon was overcooked and fishy tasting, which was a shame. I'm sure the owner would have remedied the situation if he had if known about but to my fault I didn't mention it. My husband however had a totally different experience with his steak. It was cooked perfectly, the garlic mashed potatoes were creamy with beautiful roasted garlic. Amazing! I would recommend the steak, but perhaps the salmon when in season.

I’ve been going to this establishment for two generations and the food has always been amazing. Since the renovations this place now has a great cocktail lounge with great drinks. If you want fine dining the menu is one of the best in town. I’ve had everything from the New York steak to the Chicken to the pastas. All the food is so delicious. I love the surf and turf. The deserts and Irish coffees are the perfect end to a great meal. Probably on of the best places in Sarnia!

My fiancé and I were there Saturday night to celebrate our engagement and it was perfect. Not only was the food top notch, but our server, Kourtney was outstanding and definitely made it a night to remember. She even thought to bring us the cork from the champagne we ordered which we will definitely keep to remember our special day. When she found out what we were celebrating, she also offered to take our photo!! She was genuine throughout the night and always made sure our drinks were topped up and the table was clear. I've eaten here many times, never had a bad meal! The staff are awesome, very personable, very friendly and very attentive. Food is excellent. My favourite lunch is the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with sweet potato fries. Don't ask me what they do different, but its the BEST in town. (And if you ask for extra buffalo sauce they actually give you extra, unlike a few other restaurants) Also try the Reuben sandwich with greek salad on the side. Warning - it will ruin you. It's the best reuben I've ever had, I prank you not. But after eating it here other restaurant's reuben sandwiches will leave you angry and unsatisfied. The bread is not soggy like most places usually serve, and they don't cheap out on small portions of meat. If you are debating about Big Fish, try it. It's one of the best restaurants in Sarnia.

Nice to have a choice of 3 different red house wines. I chose the 9 oz malbec and it was super. The lunch menu leaned towards fish and seafood, there was also an halibut and chips lunch special....all of which sounded great but I was having fish for supper so I got the chicken spaghettini. The portion was large and delicious. Their were large slices of tender chicken breast and chunks of fresh tomatoes and other vegetables. The sauce was a cheesy savoury heaven that could have easily stood on its own. Service from Trish efficient and delightful. Overall a great experience at Big Fish.

Looks fancy on the surface with the ambiance and prices but the food isnt that great. Spinach dip and crab stuffed mushrooms are super heavy on cream cheese, escargot is in some sort of cream soup served with rock hard bread. Stuffed pork tenderloin was super overcooked, even the ovation chocolate that came with the bill was half melted. Will not be coming back unless its JUST for drinks.
