REVIEWS OF Cochon Dingue IN Sainte-Foy

I love this place and its brunch menu. I have been to different branches of Cochon Dingue in Quebec City but this one is the best. Fast service, friendly staff, good food, and spacious terrace. Do not miss the chance to taste the old-fashion hot chocolate at Cochon Dingue.

Grace MacNeil

Always consistent -- and a busy place. We arrived into QC and enjoyed a late lunch on the patio. Service was a bit slow but the the food was lovely.

Jade S.

Basically everything was great. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and food was delish !

Jerry Z

Very nice coffee and breakfast as always. A little sad to see the duck omelette go but it’s always nice to try new things.

Réjean St-Laurent

Good experience!

Ericka

Food is good. No matter the dish you won't be disappointed.

Jonathan Massot

Great food and service. The latte was excellent and the breakfast was really good, nice portions for a reasonable price. The apple butter is good.

Lana Cox

This is a great casual restaurant with typical québécois dishes as well as international food. Loved the cornichons in lieu of bread! Also the apple pie with vanilla cream was delicious. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual. The decorations are really nice, and the stones in the walls give it a cozy and hostoric feel. Its the perfect place to have a good hearty dinner for an affordable price.

Service ☆☆☆☆ Even though they were in a rush and the service was a bit long, our waitress was super nice! ~~~~ Location ☆☆☆☆ Directly in the shopping mall, so it is nice for breakfast or lunch before going shopping. Their patio is sunny in the summer for those who like it! ~~~~ Deco ☆☆☆☆ Bike-themed. Not my favourite setting (lol), but quite enjoyable knowing that the owner of RestosPlaisir is a bike aficionado. ~~~~ Drinks & Food ☆☆☆☆ Beloved by the locals! I think the food has become a bit more "industrial" through the years as the company keeps getting bigger and bigger, but I wouls still recommend to any tourist! I often have the chia bowl and it is a delightful healthy breakfast. ~~~~ Schedule ☆☆☆☆☆ What more could you ask for?

Kelvin Leung

Nice duck burger

Michelle Goveas

Excellent, quick service. Ordered the breakfast poutine and the crepes; both were good. Next time, will try the brunch plate or classic breakfast.

karine congote

First time in a restaurant since the pandemic started and very glad it was this one. The service was great and the food delicious (I had the ribs). Highly recommend.

Harriet T

Very popular with the locals. Located inside a very modern shopping centre. When looking for something off the tourist trail, must visit. Good food, good service.

Khalel Leconte

Great place. Great choices. Food is good, fresh, relatively fast-made; for all ages and tastes. Plenty of seating, inside, outside or side bar. Good service and friendly staff. Good venue for fan of breakfast and lunches. Prices are medium range yet still raisonnable for the plates.

Pierre “Pete” Azar

Great food, good portions, courteous service. Decor is very entertaining - Tour de France themed... Will be back. If you're in Quebec City do not miss it.

Marie-Eve Rousseau

Hands down biggest omelette Ive had in my life!!! And very delicious!! The place was super busy and the way people were lining up to be placed was a bit confusing. I also wish they offered a substitute for the bread... Other than that, tip top place! I want to go back to try more!

Tyffany T

Food was good. Customer service was not.

Jason Kernc

What can I say, my wife and I were absolutely blown away by this place. We arrived in the middle of a huge downpour and the food made us completely forget about getting soaking wet outside. I had the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict pictured below and it was absolutely to die for. Seriously, if you are a fan of eggs Benny and salmon, get this. The eggs were poached perfectly, The salmon has the perfect amount of smoke, and the sauce... perfection. My wife had the crepes with fruit and said it was incredible as well, although I didn't get a chance to try it. This place claims to have the best coffee in Quebec city right on the menu and even that is true. I have no idea where they get it from but it's fantastic. Wait staff was extremely polite and very attentive. Will certainly come back next time we are in Quebec City.

MeeMee

It was good food and the service was great. I would have giving a five stars if it was less pricey.

Filippa Simard

Always have a great time there. Service is good and I felt very safe. Food is delicious as always. Selection of coffee or hot chocolat with all breakfasts. The old fashion hot chocolate is amazing

Shurikn Ibuki

It was good but not good enough for the price. Way too overpriced for what it is.

Claudia

I always take the classic brunch dish. The service can sometimes be slow and during the weekend I will definitely recommend a reservation for large group for brunches. I tried the new location located at the mall st foy like the tour of France "bicycles” theme.

Dana Conrado

We enjoy this place. A bit pricey.

Nicolas Navier

A very good place to brunch abeit it is more meat oriented than fruit oriented really

Kevin Ringuette

The food was good but nothing really to rave about. It is like any other roadhouse type restaurant! The pig decor is cool!

oh socute

Yummy

there was a really worst service i ever saw in Quebec City. All team of waiters absolutely doesn't care a lot, impossible to ask about some drinks because there's nobody around, impossible to have some simpy things as salt ,paper or napkins because they didn't care you saw waiter once and after she disappeared and you just wait . Worst service , nothing special about food and the worst onion soup in city i guess

Wai01

Breakfast of Champions! The service was phenomenal! No need for words, just look at the pictures.

A. Seraphine Ogmen

Good food, fast service, and they have an English menu. I liked the veggie burger and their hot chocolate. (Different occasions, not together haha)

Claude Forest

Great food!

Brett Wakeman

Simply the best breakfast I've had in Quebec City! Truly delectable with every bite! With excellent ambiance and service! Highly recommend this place! :)

Elijah Lakusta

Paul Hill

Simply the best pastries imaginable

bherer Bherer

Very good. Diverse meals. Got keto and vegan options. Specialized coffees and very great decor. Home made jam. Great breakfasts!

Syl Evan

Perfect place for a breakfast with friends. Nice and cozy venue. Good menu, good price. Look for decorations of lovely small pigs everywhere.

Ricardo Santoyo

Very good, yet avarage.

Peter V. de Sousa

Best breakfast place ever in Quebec. We need one in Toronto, Ontario

Chantal Hawat

Based on the breakfast reviews, we were expecting something excellent but we were disappointed. Got the 2 eggs, meats, potatoes and crepe plate. Crepe was the best thing on the plate the rest pas very sub-par. Not really impressed. Decor was very nice and terrasse is large and nice on a sunny day. Place looked very clean.

michelle stadler

Very good food. Excellent service and bilingual staff. Cute place

Andrei Bursuc

Amazing breakfast. I usually eat in Montreal, but this place was better than most of Montréal's places.

Amber Petty

Great family restaurant, calm atmosphere. Food is in generous servings, and very good! Everyone in our party enjoyed our meal! I definitely can recommend the ribs and the crème Brûlée!

Lei Lei

Their traditional dishes are amazing and so delicious! Pork chops cooked with maple sugar! They're from France, which means their secret recipient is French, with the Canadian famous maple sugar, then how delicious can you imagine? I give four stars because of the price. Comparing to other same level restaurants, here is more expensive. Regular size is well enough for man, while if you love more, you can get double size with only $8 added.

Bruno G

Amazing place for a breakfast. I had a great time

Adrian Hill

Good service, good food, good atmosphere, we'll be happy to go back.

Theresa Brereton

Amazing kid-friendly restaurant. The kids menu is great too! Kids loved the sausage cocktails wrapped in bacon! Their clam chowder was so good! They also have a pickle car with these mini pickles that were so yummy!!!!

T Smith

This place is awesome for breakfast! Will come back if visiting again.

Frank L

A bit expensive for breakfast, but it is worth it when you compare to what you get around for the same price. Excellent coffee and service. Highly recommend trying it!

Christopher Little

Kinda if expensive for 2 people 75$ , small plates bit ok if your hungry....

Arad Tchouldjian

Great staff, great food and one of the best places for breakfast!

pennydennisonrn

Beautiful setting, staff friendly and accommodating to our English only. Food was beautiful delicious and healthy which was my most important need. (The one star was a mistake, a finger goof! I didn’t know I had left one at all.)

Nathalie Wallbott St-Denis

My common law order a salmon poke bowl and it wasn't even salmon. At least they change his meal.

Guillaume Bourgeois

Very good food.

Greg Sommerville

Pretty yummy, but surprisingly pricey for what you get. It's more of a 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up. Good steak frites.

Jennifer He

I ordered the 3 course meal for $30, taste of the fish was very light and weird, has some cumin/Cajun makes together which tasted funny. The vegetable burger was also seasoned too light, didn't have much flavour to the meal. For dessert, the cake was dry. Not really worth the $

Bruce MacNeil

This is our Go To spot for breakfast in Quebec City. Cochon Dingue offers visitors a chance to experience authentic Quebec milieu and terrific food.

Greg G

A bit pricey, but good food.

Amanda Kutenski

Best breakfast out i've ever had! Service is great, everyone is super nice! I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to go out on a brunch.

Phenomenal- great food and great service!

Markus Dubious

Awesome food but menu lacks diversity

Annick Daigle

Awesome food

Andrea Borbely

The food and service were great!

Germaine Pataki-Thériault

We were excited to give this place a try. Went for Saturday brunch. I ordered the eggs Benedict with duck confit. Don't. I love a good duck confit. These tasted reheated and were strangely watery. Not pretty. My hubby had the poutine with many breakfast meats and it was much tastier than mine. On a general note, it is too bad only a few restaurants still make a good fried potato side.

Greg Arbo

Food was very good. Without reservation was a 45 minute wait.

Stephanie Rodrigue

Awesome food, great location. The restaurant is brand new and lovely !

Linh P.

We went there tonight for what we thought would be a nice dinner with the family. The food was definitely not up to par. The clam chowder was over-herbed and watery. The seafood pot pie, at $25, was a joke; it was far too heavy on the wine and thick on the cream to be swallowed down easily. The spaghetti with beef was reminiscent of university days. The ribs were decent, but not enough of a draw for us to go back, ever. For the prices, we expected way more.

Roméo Devereaux

Yum, the lobster roll was delicious, and the Caesar cocktail was the best I have ever tasted. And I'm Canadian, where the Caesar is the unofficial national drink! This one featured Vodka, Clamato juice and cocktail wieners wrapped in bacon. Wow. We sat outside and people watched, enjoying the joie vivre. Our server was super friendly and was patient with my painful French accent. But you don't need to speak French to enjoy old Quebec City. I'm so glad someone recommended we look for Cochon Dingue. Merci!

JC T

Went for breakfast, it was very busy. I ordered the “morning flower” waffle. Service was friendly and the food was good, I would recommend it to others.

Guy Theriault

Great breakfast poutine

Elaine Chiquette

Excellent Waiting staff..good food for the mall

Benjamin Charland

Quick service, excellent breakfast and the price is great for what you get! Never disappointed, my go to!

Wei Tsu Jye (Santu)

Had a very good experience at the Couchon Dingue. Great food and atmosphere, excellent service!

jerome cardon

Pretty good, with pretty good service; coffee could be better.

Whitney Sanderson

Underwhelming at best. Had a 18$ burger that was hard and tasteless. Hubby had 27$ greasy fish and chips... Save your money and your time and go to the Baton Rouge beside it instead.

Sameer L

Great food and atmosphere. Came with a party of 7 and they were most accommodating though the restaurant was full. Shrimp and lobster roll (their special) was delicious. Tasted so fresh. Definitely recommend this place.

bob boisjo

As always, a very nice place for breakfast or lunch, great service, Will do this again, soon!

Dennis Dong

Disappointed. Got there around 1pm on a Tuesday to ask for a table but only to be told that the kitchen was closed and was turned away. However a group a few seconds after me asked for a table and was promptly seated. Not sure if it's discrimination or just a very rude host.... either way it left a very sour taste with me.

David Pittaro

We ate from the lunch menu and our meals were delicious and refreshing.

William Grenon

Great food, great service, great place Un poco expensive
