Beautiful atmosphere and excellent food!

Excellent excellent food. The butter chicken chunks could be a little smaller, that's all the "bad" thing I could say about it. Service was great and fast. Butter chicken isn't as creamy as some others I've tried but feels healthier because of it. The vegetarian curry was an amazing dish! I've never had it before but the spice and flavour was just perfect. Highly recommend this gem. Did not try any of the other Asian dishes. Would certainly have to next time.

Great food and atmosphere with really big meals. I eat a lot and one full size meal is easily enough for two people. Drink selection is also good with rotating local beers on tap. The building and decor is also beautiful. The food is expensive but given the quality and service I would say it is worthwhile.

cynthia gallagher

Not a big fan of giving good feedback for Indian food (high stds for authenticity & cuz I'm Indian ) and I was pleasantly surprised! Flavours were bang on . Highly recommend. Not very south Indian but definitely North Indian food!

Marcel Richard

Honestly, hands down one of the best restaurant in Saint John! The food is out of this world. Everything is so flavorful and well cooked. Excellent service and amazing atmosphere! Highly recommend.

Ive nearly had all the foods on the Menu at this point. Its simply amazing. The staff, Kitchen and service is nothing short of excellent. The fod is colorful, Delicious, if you ask it spicy be prepared to sweat the heat. I will be going again... a lot..... often.... p.s Deserts there are simply fantastic!!! And my favorite so far is hard to say... i love the Samosas as appetizers, the pad thai or tikka masala with lamb and creme bruler for desert. Enjoy a beautiful evening!

Tejas Goyani

Got the vegetable curry dish, comes with naan, rice and a papadum (all vegan). Added raita. It was definitely pricey but it's the only indian place in town. Most vegetable Currys are mostly sauce. This was packed full of veggies. If you like naan, the three triangles won't be enough.

First experience last night in St. John doentown at Thandi, this was amazing. Luckily they're was room at the long table as I didn't have reservation and it was packed. Food was amazing, flavourful and plenty (even had some left overs for later). Would highly recommend and I'll definitely be going back.

Ranjot Ghumaan

Nice place, great environment, have vegan choices (not so many and no desserts for vegan :( ) . Had a really nice time.

Iryna Gogots

I’ve been to quite a few Indian restaurants across Canada and I have to say Thandi is one of the best. The food is on the pricier end but flavourful and authentic. Highly recommended!

Pamela Wagner

I just wanted to publicly thank the staff for being so understanding when we lost track of time catching up with old friends and kept them late. Great food and the best staff. Thanks again guys and hope to see you soon.

I went here last evening with my wife. The service was and is always amazing! The food is always top notch. Definitely on my top three places to eat in Saint John.

Susy R.

Good food, bad service. If our waiter wasn't so busy flirting with the girl he was working with I'm sure it would have been a great meal.... not the case. Also, if you have leftovers you want to bring home, do not let them take your plate from the table. You will get about half of what you planned on taking with you. Actually overheard wait staff talking about how they take some of the leftovers before bringing it back to the table. Very disappointing since this restaurant had become one of our favourite places to go.

gold punks

Excellent environment and atmosphere, amazing staff, and the food is out of this world. We get something different every time we are here and have yet to be disappointed. Their butter chicken, and artichoke dip are both must haves. Next time you’re looking for a place to go that has some spice to it, I would strongly recommend Thandi’s.

Jugrajdeep Singh

Love Thandi's, the staff, the food and the experience are all so good every time. This visit gathered with some friends to expose some to the restaurant while taking advantage of the local Chop Chop experience. Our wait staff was attentive and responsive, the three course meal was divine, and the night was great.

Ryan Robichaud

Excellent! Unlike some other places we have been in this city, Thandi's actually was a Great Meal! I love to cook and often get disappointed when we go out for a meal. Not Here! Everything was Great! Location. Staff. Food. One suggestion I would make is the following. That they suggest to their diners that the Korma Offering be paired with some chili flakes on the side and that the diner combine the sweet of the Korma and the Chili Flakes for Taste Heaven! Let me repeat Taste Heaven! Sure you will pay some $$$ for the meal. But the meal is Worth It! Too many dining out experiences are not worth it. Dining at Thandi's is worth it. Enough said!

Michael Dickson

The place where I love to go...... Food is really great and quite good and authentic in taste. Ambience is really nice and hospitality also quite good. One drawback is we do not get chapattis or rotis or naans. They offer pita bread with hummus.

A Giant Panda

Excellent service and fantastic foods. Our favorites are the Butter Chicken & the Fish Pekora. Complimentary Flatbread and house made hummus is great for starting with a glass of wine. One of our goto places to eat and meet with friends.

Jonathan Gaudet

This restaurant may classify as fusion but definitely not traditional north Indian cuisine. Extensive use of masala destroys flavor, and results in unpleasant experience after a few bites. After multiple visits trying different items, it always results in a disappointing night. Some service staff are exceptional (young man with glasses), some are not (Darryl).

Tithi Dave

Thandi was the perfect end cap for me and my girlfriend's 3 year anniversary. The atmosphere was relaxing and fun, the food was exquisite, and the staff was wonderful as well. I just recently realized that I like Indian food so Thandi was a real treat. Worth every penny. And let me tell you this: I always take leftovers home from restaurants but I never eat them; they just go bad in the fridge... NOT THE CASE WITH THANDI. I threw that stuff in a pan the next day to heat it up and ate every last morsel on that plate and then got sad because I want more and I live in Fredericton! Noooooo. Please open a Thandi in Fredericton!

Chandler Amy

Stumbled upon late in the evening having just arrived in Saint John, after a few false starts at other nearby restaurants. Wow! The menu was extensive and varied, the food excellent (and authentic), the ambience relaxing with warm wood accents, the service attentive but unobtrusive. Strongly recommend!

Steve Lunney

If you haven't been I suggest you go. Amazing restaurant and staff is top notch! You will not be disappointed!

Edmund Wang

Nice cozy place to eat. There are many options on the menu. Indian foods on the menu are very good. Steaks are good too. The portions are enough for one person. The staff are very friendly and professional. It's a little pricey but it is worth it. I love spicy food but I think they should ask for the spiciness scale. It was good if they had pictures of their menu items as well.

John M

Server was excellent, even warning that fried veg food is cooked in the same oil as the animals they cook. Food has always been great, but $20 curry is just difficult to be ok with when I can get the same thing for $8.99 down the street from my house back home.

Francois G

Owners Kenny and Holly own and operate this fantastic restaurant, I've had most things on the menu and they are all extraordinary. My favourite is steak and ribs, with pasta and veggies (I like snow peas and broccoli) You'll love this place.

Great food and atmosphere! I highly enjoyed the lamb curry for lunch and the service was friendly. It’s located centrally in the downtown and I’ll definitely return for another meal.

Feeling the need to escape from our home and now office, we drove to Saint John for a two night vacation. In addition to beating the fall blues, keeping the support for the local economy flowing was also a consideration. After checking into the Delta in the city centre, we searched for Indian cuisine, not something readily available in our hometown. To our glee, Thandi was just a short walk, maybe two blocks from the hotel. Arriving early on a Sunday evening, we easily got a table. There were a few other customers and a steady stream of folks picking up takeout orders. We order a couple beer and an order of Calamari for sharing while we chose our mains. Both arrived promptly. There were a reasonable selection of craft beers on tap mixed with the more common national/international offerings. The Calamari arrived mixed in a warm coleslaw like salad. They were not overcooked and rubbery like many calamari but fresh and tender. The salad twist was a great pairing idea as a starter salad was not needed. There was also an offering of naan bread with a little humus which I assume was on the house. For mains, we had Chicken Tikka Masala with added vegetables and Vindaloo with Lamb. Each were served with basmati rice and papa-dams. Both were sooo good. The meat was tender, the vindaloo with good “heat” and servings quite sufficient. Actually we couldn’t finish, which is a good sign. Our server was great. Pleasant and polite, checking in just enough. Timing was perfect. The restaurant has a good ambiance with a mix of bar and restaurant. With a full house, it would be quite lively atmosphere. There was also good respect for COVID protocols. Definitely a place we will return to.

Beautiful place for dinner. Must visit fellas.

Richa Kohli

Great food, superb staff. The meals were tasty and full of fresh ingredients. The spicy Thai seafood was beyond spectacular. And the cheesecake was yummy too ! We are only here for a visit, but if I lived here, I'd go there ALL the time. Oh and the fresh pita and hummus to start were also brilliant. Why can't I give them 10 out of 5??!!!

Being a bit of a procrastinator, I called Thandi near noon on Valentines day. I asked the hostess if they had any tables for 6 to which she replied, the best I can do is 5:30. She then gave me an option that worked for both of us. Noone else I called were willing to work with my babysitter time limitations (admittedly this was due to the short notice) these guys however did! Did I mention the food yet? Thandi is one of our special places to go. Every single dish is amazing, there is a sense of pride of ownership and a pride in every bit of prep and cook. The food is amazing and the layout of the restaurant works with the historical architecture to produce a welcoming yet sophisticated atmosphere. Thandi is certainly a Saint John favourite for me.

Rojy Frank

Very delicious food and friendly staff.

Adil Hossain

Excellent indian food; definitely some of the best I've had on the east coast! Decor is really nice, rustic old brick wall look. Might look pricey but the portions are big and the quality of food is well worth it! Definitely coming back here next time in Saint-John's.

Christine Bullock

Vibrant and whimsical decor, lovely cozy ambiance, the friendliest staff! The food is spot-on, authentic and delicious. The lamb vindaloo is to die for. The only recommendation I have is that I would like to see a few authentic Indian desserts (options such as kheer, kulfi, laddoo) in their dessert menu. I did have the crème brulée and it was delicious. One of the best restaurants in the city! Five stars falls short.

Arun Mistry

Good location and ambiance, but I made the mistake of not checking the menu before going -- an "Indian" restaurant with anything ranging from Caesar salad to pad Thai on the menu. Curry itself was not bad, but use of spice did not feel authentic at all, naan was clearly store bought, and the biryani looked and tasted closer to Chinese fried rice with tomatoes and green peas in it. Prices were more than double what I am used to from Indian restaurants, but portions are generous. Overall, a pretty underwhelming experience.

Poonam Katewa

If you like Indian cuisine, Thandi is a decent place to go. Dishes are of good quality but could definitely be better. The menu offers many various items from different types of cuisine which is great for people not so fond of Indian cuisine, yet, on my part, I find it pretty intriguing. The Naans were a disappointing experience. They feel dull and tasteless. They tasted pretty much like pre-made Naans bought from Costco and reheated on a flame to give the mere impression that they are homemade. Prices are pretty high given the quality of the dishes themselves. The Taj Mahal in Moncton offers a greater experience with prices more attractive. During our last visit, service was not great. Pretty long, with mistakes and a cruel lack of consideration from the staff. The fact that Thandi is one of the only Indian restaurant in St John might be giving it its reputation. All in all, a somewhat good experience if you really crave for Indian food.

Matthew Morgan

The seafood stir fry was to die for. Wait person went next door to get a Moscow Mule mug for my drink. He really went the extra mile to make my visit special. We were a larger group and they served us in a timely manner and it was so appreciated.

Adam T. Donnelly

This place is delicious! Split an appetizer and two main courses with the girlfriend. Needless to say, this gave us plenty of leftovers for the next day. Everything we ate was fantastic and I cant wait to eat there again!

‫מיטל אור (‪Meital Or‬)‬

I have eaten a lot of Indian curry ... This one was amazing! Worth your time and money! The atmosphere was great and the service was very fast!

George Losier

I've been to many Indian restaurants and this place is exceptional for their service and food. Their curry plates are very flavorful and the butter flavor is delightfully noticable all throughout the meal. I ordered the hot and spicy Bombay lamb curry with an upgrade to biryani rice. They have a wide selection of delicious entrees as well.

Leigh Cameron

The curries are fantastic and I love how they have daily specials. I have tried a variety of curries and I’m never disappointed. The cheesecake is also amazing; probably the best I’ve ever had!

Ryan Gagné

In my opinion the best restaurant in entire NB, and no more expensive than your average bar and grill.

Amy Mayhew

Very good food service and atmosphere

Stefan Radovanovic

Great food, but inconsistent spice levels in the vindaloo. I order it a couple times a month, noticed this trend so decided to put it to the test. Had my indian friend help, we ordered the exact same dish in person to go. His was significantly more spicy than mine, wasn't too stoked I got the white boy vindaloo. Will still buy again

John Shuve

Wow. What a spot. If you are anywhere near this area you absolutely need to come here for food. You will kick your self for not. The Pad Thai here is an amazing take on an old dish. Also they had some pritty nice cocktails on the menu, I think they are connected to the Hopscotch place next door which would explain all the good drinks! GREAT SPOT!

Marjan Jackman

Amazing meal and beautiful atmosphere, best Indian food I've ever had.

Sean McKinley

Best Mango Chicken curry I have ever had... and best creme brule ever. Tasted like toasted Marshmallow. The service was a bit slow however it was a full house and we were a large table so it is understandable. If you're looking for good Thai/Indian food; this is where you need to go!

Amanda Price

As an Englishman, this does not compare to what the UK provides for Indian food. Id prefer a full Indian menu with sides and beer. I feel that it is currently trying to hard to be too many things such as a sports bar (tv on the wall) and stake house. Having said this, if you want a curry this is the best that Saint John has to offer.

Alison Elizabeth Hughes

Traveling throught Atlantic Canada for work i've had the opportunity to eat at a lot of places. This restaurant is easily top 3 of places I like to eat! Their curries are juste phenomenal, the service has always been great! I'm always looking forward to going to Saint John so I can eat at Thandi's

A decent restaurant in a not so competitive area.

Angela Russell

Best indian restaurant in the city but very $$$. Not sure if it is worth it. Today we asked for warm water and first the provided us with weird smelling warm water. When we asked them to replace it, they provided us with boiling water which couldn't drink. Overall, had to eat the lunch without drinking anything.

Yashodha Marambage

The food is great but little expensive

Braden Pitts

Wonderful Indian food prepared by dedicated chefs and served by friendly experienced wait staff. They focus on the food but they have a distinctly Saint John atmosphere, located in an old uptown building.

Went here on Saturday night Dec 29 the. Reservations had been made for 7pm and had been made at least 4-5 weeks in advance. They had been made for 4 but one party increased to 6, 3 days before the dinner! When we arrived about 6:40, on Sat evening we we're greeted by a young man who promptly took our name and reservation time he went to speak to the owner Holly Singe and I knew something was up!! When I had made the reservation I had asked for a table up stairs near a fireplace or front windows they assured me no problem!! She informed me that they had to change that we had a table next to the front door with a huge window at our back and a bright light in our face!! I told her our original request, and was told by this woman that they don't HOLD reservations, if a large party of like 18 came in they have to be accommodated because of their size....what does that tell you more customers more money!!!! Reservations mean nothing at this establisment...she then offered us a table upstairs but insisted we would not like it ...please let me be the judge of the table thank you. It was at the top of the stairs but quite nice...the meals were something else ..out of three of us to order meals on our side of the table two were under par; my haddock was full of bones...a no-no that any half decent sous chef would fix, veg was cold and potato only half baked, my friends Saag was overly seasoned... we were not offered a free drink or dessert by the owner for the problems!! The saving grace to this whole fiasco was the awesome wait staff named Emma she was fun and extremely capable at her job, she could go to any good restaurant. So... beware Thandi's, not the place they claim it to be will never go there again.. end of rant ! Also this will probably be taken down by Hollie because it seems , that may be the way she rolls, but my FB is Public so this will go there as well!!!!

Dwight Egerter

I ordered ahead for takeout , and asked for their biryani, extra spicy. They asked if I’d like it ‘Indian spicy’, I wondered what that meant..but since I was visiting from Ontario, I assumed this is some weird Saint John nomenclature. The biryani was expensive at 33$ after taxes , and portion size was little. For SJ locals who don’t have much Indian food options this is passable, but for anyone visiting from other provinces, absolutely avoid the place. Pretentious establishment run by white people. Never heard of the term Indian spicy till date, lol.

Chris Ward

Unauthentic Indian Restaurant - This review is for Indian customers who at times wish to eat authentic Indian food. DO NOT TRY unless you’re good to eat coated food.

Liora Naroditsky

Great vibe but the menu is so big that you almost get lost at some point. I definitely did not make a good choice since my seafood thai plate was so gingery, I only had a few bited. I was extremely disappointed considering the feedback i had received about this place. I might have been unlucky but also I was not asked if all was good either. It looks like you should stick with the indian neals. Not impressed anyway.

Rachel Wilson

Food was delicious, unfortunately my salmon was a bit undercooked though.

Ashlee LeBlanc

Honestly I do not give anyone poor review. Today I went to Thandi after lots of my friends told me that it is very good restaurant but after I am going there I was very disappointed about their food and customer service. That guy who served food he gave us cold food and then he did not show up in 30 minutes. When I asked him food was cold he asked me why I did not tell him In first time . How can I tell him about food before I taste . Even chicken was not proper cooked. I think owner should take proper action about this. So next time this thing will not happen with other customers.

Evan Hardy

Second visit this year. First visit in March was outstanding. I most vividly remember an eggplant dish that we ordered. Asked about it this time and apparently that would have been a special at the time. Anyway, had the butter chicken this time around and it was too good. Calamari was delicious as well although portion of the calamari wasn't large and the pieces even smaller. Will have to try other dishes next time as I've been told by local friends that "everything is "good!

Robert Gagnon

Very nice restaurant. Good decor and friendly service. Prices are a bit on the high side. Ordered the halibut steak and Chicken korma. Halibut was grilled perfectly and the side dishes complemented it well. The chicken korma was ok, a bit on the bland side at some points. Naan was good but the rice felt old , got a lot of dried out pieces

J.W Deveaux

We had family visiting from Ontario for the first time since the start of the pandemic and wanted to have a special night out. We chose Thandi’s and did we hit the jackpot. We each had entirely different meal choices, from Butter Chicken to Salmon to Pad Thai. My Pad Thai was amazing, loved the tamarind flavoured sauce. But, what all of us noticed was the fast, attentive and friendly service of Haley. She engaged with us like we were friends. I have travelled all over Canada for decades and she is in the top echelon of servers. What an ambassador for Thandi’s Haley is!

Bob Burgess

Great food and service. Friendly staff. The Saag with lamb was delicious! Would eat here again and look forward to it.

Sheldon Poon

I have been across many Indian restaurants, but thandi is amazing. Awesome customer service and really reasonable prices. Loved the place. Food was up to point, highly recommended.

Derek Robertson

Our dinner was fantastic! ( as always!) Great service by Nikayla Lots of leftovers for lunch tomorrow, Thanks again for a Great Dinner Date P.S. you have to try the Chocolate Cheese Cake!!!

Dave Appleby

The food was excellent and they didn't skimp on any food. The portions were great and the food was prepared quickly. We got the naan nachos, shrimp biryani, and chicken tikka masala. It was the best Indian food we have had since we lived in Boston. Two thumbs up!

Arjun Damodar

Food was very good. The Lamb vindaloo was spicy, but you can ask for it however spicy or mild you would like it which is great. Naan bread wasn't very authentic but still tasty. Being from Montreal is was surprised how good the food was here. One of the best places to eat in Saint John

Dean Mylalsingh

Awesome food!! The menu is unique and it has all kinds of options. Service was excellent. Calamari was so good.

Ashley L

Food was wonderful and tasted amazing but an appy sparkling water and butter chicken came to roughly 55 dollars. More of a place to splurge then daily. Service was wonderful quick and attentive. Price is high for Indian food but tastes amazing go on special occasions and have a wonderful night.

Dale Moar

We had an amazing experience here! We went after reopening for dine in with Covid-19 and they were so careful and very aware of the guidelines that needed to be met. Our waiter, Ben, was incredible as well and went above and beyond to provide us the best experience possible. Absolutely delicious food, and all around a great place to go!

Ratz 89

With owners who care about the community as much as Ken and Holly do, it's amazing how they still have time to run one of the best restaurants in Saint John. The food is always delicious, the servers are all so friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is fun and intimate all at the same time. A Saint John must.

Ravin Vasudev

Had the special which is unusual for me. Roast pork tenderloin, stuffed. Mashed potatoes and veg washed down with a couple glasses of robust Red Wine. Real comfort food for me. Really enjoyed it. Great service and friendly ambiance. Will definitely go back.

Ryan Scott

Great tasting food. Fantastic atmosphere.

Alex Ander

Honestly, being from out of town, it's hard to find authentic Asian food around Saint John. Thankfully, Thandi is the exception using real spices and serving food that has a little kick behind it. I was also pleasantly surprised that the portions are huge and you get a lot for your money. Wonderful atmosphere, great food. Looking forward to stopping by again the next time I'm in town.

Cynthia B

Great Spring Salad with Tandori Chicken. Wish there was a non-alcoholic craft beer though

Sam

Always a wonderful experience. Seated upstairs by a fireplace which, on a chilly evening, was welcomed warmth. The decor is inviting and helps to create the perfect ambiance for a great evening out. Our server, Henry, was friendly and knowledgeable, steering us in the right direction for our menu choices. Of our party of four, one opted for a steak, which was cooked perfectly. Three of us shared 3 mains (butter chicken, shrimp masala, and a lamb dish) with plenty of rice, naan and a side of mango chutney. Terrific!

GWoo

We are here with Friends on business trip. The curry menu is very good and the portion is generous. The price is on the high side but the services and foods are exceptional. We are here in the evening. So, parking is not a big problem. But if you drop by for lunch, parking could be tricky. We will come back and try other menus.

Leonid Chukhovsky

I visited here for a late lunch on a Friday. The butter chicken was on special and I heard great things about it so I ordered it. So tasty and full of flavour! The chicken was tender and melted in my mouth. I wiped the bowl clean with the warm naan. If I wasn't so full afterwards, I would have ordered another serving. I really really should have taken some to go!

Food is typically very good and our goto for Indian cosine. Had not so great experience today when ordering cheesecake. Cheeskakes here were portioned very liberally but tonight it feels like portions were halved but the price remained. Pictured was 10$.

Dhrumil Shah (FrankShah)

We were visiting St. John and stumbled upon this gem and were amazed! The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. The appetizer platter for two was a lovely sampling of terrific Indian specialties and there was plenty. After that we had vindaloo which was outstanding. Planning our next visit soon and we wouldn’t think of eating elsewhere when visiting St. John.

Bridget

My husband and I had an incredible dinner here. The food was just amazing! I particularly loved the vindaloo. The menu is really great. Lots of different options. There were so many things we wanted to try. Our server was so nice and friendly. The ambience is also really cool and welcoming. We would be regulars here if we lived in Saint John. Must try for anyone in the area. Really really good food!!!

YOURBIGDAYDJ

My wife and I chose this place based on the great menu and because the place we really wanted to eat was closed. I am glad we found this restaurant. I had had the Pad Thai and my wife had the vegetarian curry. Their Pad Thai is a different spin on Pad Thai but it was great. I had it with chicken and shrimp. My wife said her curry was excellent too. I would gladly return here again if I am in the area.

Paul Hunt

After 2 mediocre experiences, i gave it another try. It was quite good! Im not sure if that makes me happy, or sad that they don't rise to that level more often

Jennifer L

Came for lunch and got the lamb biryanis. Venue is beautiful. Upscale Asian fusion. Food was good, though not amazing. lots of meat. Friendly service.

Stuart Cropley

Absolutely fantastic. If I could give 6 stars, I would. I had the butter chicken and it was honestly to die for. A total recommend for some authentic Indian cuisine. Friendly and calm atmosphere and a trendy look. Prices and portions and worth every penny. Please go if you are looking for a delicious meal.

Dave Carr

Went in to check out the menu, the lady hosting was so kind and offered us a seat while we looked at the menu. We ordered take out, the bartender was so attentive and the other staff so helpful and friendly. The food was awesome! Thank you for the amazing customer service.

Jean-Maxime Legare

Food here is exceptionally good. Was very surprised.

Fabien K.

The taste is decent if you are looking to eat Indian stuff. I would be advisable to suggest the chef to adjust the spice level accordingly. As Indian love spicy food. Service in the restaurant is really prompt and good. I lived the decor and the ambiance. But set too high expectations regarding the taste as you won’t get authentic Indian cuisine. Yes you can go closer to it.

Echron1000

The restaurant is known as Indian food. There is Italian & Canadian food. The Indian dish I had was excellent, well marinated sauce & cooked well. My friend had risotto. I had a bite & it was excellent, with hint of spices. The price was on high side but the portions were generous. I noticed that restaurants in general had higher prices by 25% based on New Brunswick other cities.

John Doe

Hmm... mixed feelings about this place. I'm not sure if i was bothered by the subtle racist jokes the server made or the fact that we were so exhausted from our drive that i misread the comments. But oh well.. the free starter/ humus plate is something we couldn't touch coz the humus seriously looked like leftover from the previous customer. Thats the style the scoop it in.. weird. Also the biryani is not biryani.. its fried rice.. wouldn't recommend that. The mixed platter however was to die for! I've never seen my husband talk about Indian Food in NB so passionately. He loved the sauce they served with the biryani and the platter itself and the sauces served with the platter. The drink was potent.. lol... good times.. haha.. i had a little buzz from 1 drink..

Hitesh Yadav

Phenomenal food. Lunch menu is very reasonably priced. The service is fantastic and they have a good selection of wine and beer and the waiters all know their stuff. Also love the decor

Rashed Minhaz

The best( at lease almost best ) Indian restaurant in Saint John area. The customer service is great, taste is great. Located is great. Environment is great too! May a little bit hard to find a parking lot in busy hours, price is above the average. Over-all, recommended. 4.5 star ???? ????????????⭐

Robert Shuttle

I'm a fan! The food is quite tasty here. The restaurant is clean and the service is excellent. I will say they pack them in pretty tight here though, could benefit from some extra space or perhaps a patio, but it's not a big deal and the food makes up for it. Prices are too be expected but there's actually quite good value for your dollar in the sense that the portions are generous and you will generally have some nice leftovers for lunch the next day.

Mark Burton

Top notch Indian food. The prices seem high but the portions can easily feed two people. A whole world of curries along with more familiar western fare. Quality beer on tap as well.

Seth Rosenthal

Amazing food and great service! The interior is well decorated and intimate yet there is lots of seating! We had 2 different curry dishes and 2 cheesecakes! Highly recommend!

lekhala jyothsna

Had a wonderful dinner tonight the calamari the best I have had in a long time and what can I say about the butter chicken. Delicious. The service was excellent as well. Great way to spend our anniversary.

Mirza Vikhar

Good ambience, very good service and quality of food was immaculate. Visited first time. Haven't had such good food in whole of Atlantic. MUST VISIT

Sharon S

Wonderful selection of east Asian cuisine. Having been to south east Asia myself, I found the food selection at Thandi made me feel like I was back there. The service is wonderful. I suggest stopping in for lunch and checking out the available specials.

Mohammadhossein Norouzimahalli

Some of the best Indian food I've ever had, and they have other types of cuisine that I really must get around to trying. It's just so hard to not choose the Indian food when it's so good. Super nice dining room. Great atmosphere and great service. Truly among the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to anywhere in the world, including places where you might expect better, like Toronto or England or, yes, even India. A real (and rare) Saint John gem.

Well this is my favorite place in the city. Fantastic food for everyone. The menu is so diverse. Lamb Saag is one of my favorites. But the ribs are off the hook.

The other night me and my wife went out to celebrate our anniversary and we had the worst service by our server Abbie. I expected a high class service at this restaurant and we were disappointed. Wont be coming here again

I've been here twice and am amazed that you can find authentic and incredibly tasty Indian food in Saint John. I've only had the Indian dishes so far, but they serve Thai and other fusion as well. Service is also exceptional and food is served very fast. Will definitely return.

The curry dishes are so good and delicious with other Asian and Canadian delights. The staff are intelligent and fun. You'll enjoy your meal and the atmosphere. Wine, spirits and beer to all different tastes. So if you want an enjoyable time and delicious meals Tandy's is the spot for you.

I take clients to this restaurant. We have taken over 200 people there and not one person didn’t love their meal....portions are huge and delicious.. Thandis has the best steak in the city... The staff are amazing and knows the menu in detail. Owners are very welcoming... I travel all over Atlantic Canada and by far this is my favourite spot....

My Fiancè loves the butter chicken in fact he calls it the best ever! I had a taste and found it a bit spicy. I usually have the clubhouse on naan I found today that the cheese was a little too much and very creamy and it was very messy and not as good as the first time I had it. However I love the wedges from here.

The best Indian restaurant in Saint John. I went there several time and only got disappointed a couple times. The first time which I thought my meal was a little too salty but in overall great food. Brought my family there and they also loved it. The second time, the ramp for wheelchair was broken and could not get in.

Thank you Thandi. We turned up last night with more people than reserved and were made totally welcome. Once again, there was phenomenal service and fabulous curry. What a pleasure to eat at your restaurant!

Pretty nice little place with good selection of Indian and Thai plates, lunch menu was decent, plenty of food to get you full and great service. It seems to be a popular spot for a good reason, I hope to come back to try some more dishes one day.

Surprisingly good Indian food in the quaint town of Saint John's, NB. Good flavour curry with generous portions. Definitely won't leave hungry!

Tasty Indian dishes with great ambience and helpful servers. I ordered Biryani rice with one dish and the server forgot to bring it with the dish, then later server packed it for me for free..also very accommodating with the reservation rescheduling..

The service was good as soon as we entered. Sat upstairs, Unfortunately because of my stomach the table was a little tight to the seat but it was not unbearable. The meals were good, except the Pad Thai was not what I was expecting, Thandi does it a little bit different, but generally the food was quite filling. The washrooms were a little different, with a common area for washing hands, something that I have not seen before .

My wife and I were told to go here by two different locals. We were greeted with amazing aromas as we walked in. We sat up stairs and had a view of the city. The server was great and recommended his favourite dishes, which of course we tried. They were amazing and full of flavour. Highly recommend this restaurant! Great good, atmosphere and staff! We will be back.

Exceptional food and service. I ordered the rogan josh (a lamb curry), which arrived to the table in no more than 15 minutes. Best curry I've ever eaten. Will be returning!

Visited June 4,2020. Had a great meal. The waitress Emily was amazing. She answered and helped in all ways. Very nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back again.

Kelly Snyder

Food was excellent but after we payed our bill our server upstairs had the Audacity to complain about how much we tip and said we shouldn't go out if we can't tip properly and got aggressive with the 3 of us. We told him to walk away he continued to be aggressive with us. We will not return to this restaurant again if he still works here.

Best Indian authentic food in New Brunswick. Excellent environment, friendly service, great menu choices and really decent food .What a lovely restaurant, good food and service and atmosphere, definitely hope to go back.

Michelle Chen

Great food and great menu selection. Would have been five star if we would have gotten the bill a bit faster. It is a delicate balance as you want to give guests time to talk but not chase down staff for a bill. That said staff was friendly and during the meal very attentive. I would fully recommend this restaurant.
