This Restaurant is included in the category of Asian restaurant.
Always delicious. Love moneybags as an app or Chang Mai noodles as a main. Great beer selection too.
Excellent service - staff went above and beyond really. And the food, best Thai food I’ve had in a really long time. Highly recommend the green curry!
Absolutely delicious food...
Meal type
Great staff, helped us during our indecisive debating over which drinks to try. Gave us recommendations on how to best see the city.
Great restaurant and atmosphere! Food is delicious! Service is also great!!! The curry is delicious!!! Highly recommended!!
Best place for a delicious lunch curry. But sure wish they'd bring back green. Super friendly staff who are always attentive.
Favorite spot for lunch or dinner. Best beer selection in Saint John. Awesome ambience, and an amazing deck in the summer.
Always a great experience.Amazing staff and lots of wonderful food
I love Lemongrass and can’t say enough about it. The food is great and consistent. The staff is friendly and the service is great. Lots of gluten free options. I think that Lemongrass is under rated considering other restaurants in Saint John people rave about that in all reality are expensive and underwhelming.
I cannot find anything negative with my experience. Service was wonderful; friendly, helpful, informative, attentive and not overbearing. The food from the appetizer (Thai platter) to the main courses (special of the day) were splendid and charming; fresh, authentic, delicious and just overall great. Finally, nice to see the money bags are still on the menu. The first time I had these, Lemongrass was located on Princess Street, long before the move to market Square.
Service
Staff were very friendly and the food was amazing and served super fast and hot! Great craft beer selection. Huge portions.
Poor quality with overpriced junk. It is not Thai food
Amazing Pad Thai, good currys' nice cosy atmosphere. Wait times after ordering can vary.
The deck on the boardwalk always makes it great for beers and food. The Pad Thai is a huge serving and well worth it. Love the Money Bags appetizer too.
Nice place to observe the live concerts right outside side the heated patio. Wait service very attentive to our needs. The dishes were pretty spicy, surprisingly. Located in the lower levels of the mall.
Super food and great ambience. Their Pad Thai is delicious and Thursday nights are wing nights.
Food was overly salty, typical for a pub. Noodles felt like a soup the sauce was so clear.
Other
We grabbed some take out tonight, for our first meal from Lemongrass. I have to say the serving size was huge! We throughly enjoyed both the Massaman Curry and Chicken Pad Thai. The staff were very freindly and the atmosphere inside was really unique, they also have an outside seating area on the boardwalk that has glass all around to keep the chilly breeze at bay coming of the Harbour. Did I mention the size of the servings? We will be back again and again!
I don't care for the two-for-one concept, only went for the Asian dishes and the Pad Thai did not disappoint. It's a huge dish, too and the leftover was still delicious two days later. The appetizer platter was only average though. Every single item on it I've had much better elsewhere. Love this spot. Great options for food, price, style of food. It’s nice that there’s a something here for just about anyone. Authentic Thai food as well as great pub food. Delicious fusion dishes too.
Thai food. Not my favorite. Service was good. Maybe the food was good if you like thai food. For me just not sure
I have had multiple good experiences here but here was my last experience. My dish was delivered to the wrong table. My food was poked at my another customer, then the waitress, then delivered to me. I emailed the establishment and never heard back. I'm not saying I'm going to totally avoid the place but it's not a place I'll be recommending as #1 to visitors to STJ.
Awesome food. The Chiang Mai Noodle and Pad thai dishes were spectacular! Felt like I was back in Thailand. I highly recommend eating here. Dog friendly patio as well ! Servers were so friendly and accommodating. Views and atmosphere were also lovely.
Dine in
Always a treat. No kids menu or things to entertain young people. That being said they are able to accommodate kids with a simple dish.
Fantastic food and service with a great craft beer selection on tap that is always changing. Excellent prices on the lunch menu.
I really liked the place. Also the food and drinks are just awesome ???? but the thing I don't like was the waiting period. After the reservation also we had to wait for 25 more minutes.
I don't think the prices are great. The fish and chips is good, but mainly because the fish is so fresh, not because of the skill in cooking it... Much less presenting it.
Lemongrass is always my favourite restaurant when I visit Saint John. Tonight's Chang Mai noodles recommended by my server was amazing. First of all, piping hot, I do not like warm meals. Spicyness and texture was something else. Servers always friendly and know what a smile is. Highly recommended this restaurant.
Best curry house in all of Saint John, maybe even New Brunswick. Affordable, has a decent selection of options, the rice is actually cooked properly (neither crunchy nor goo-like) and the food is seasoned to perfection. They also put on live music occasionally, if that's your thing. Only one issue I could think of and it's pretty minor: Loads of beer options, only one cider choice and it's not even local. (Maybe I've just missed the days they have more choices though?)
Just across the harbor. Spice level is on the higher side (medium high). Restaurant has unique lighting. You will call it romantic if you are younger, or darkly lit if you are older ????????
Lemongrass Thai Fare by day serves up authentic Thai cuisine on it’s heated three tier patio on the Saint John Waterfront boardwalk. At nighttime it turns into Peppers Pub and serves up its unique twist on Pub fare to go along with the great bands performing on their stage. I missed the bands playing by a couple of nights, but I did get to enjoy some fantastic Thai food that included Curry Dusted Calamari, Lamb Popsicles and nicely spiced Chicken Pad Thai. Not what I expected to eat in Saint John, but I am glad I did. A nice alternative to the usual pub fare.
this is such a really great restaurant the prices are really good the staff are very friendly and helpful the place is always clean the tables are clean the bathrooms are clean the food is very well-prepared you can tell the chef takes pride in his work I highly recommend anybody looking for a good meal to come and check out the lemongrass restaurant because you won't be disappointed will be coming here again real soon to visit me and my colleagues and have a great meal as usual thanks for everything guys keep up the good work.
Good food. Good service. Low score on environment. I try hard to avoid single use plastic and wasnt expecting water to be delivered in a plastic cup. Not acceptable with a $56 meal.
An excellent spot for lunch and heat in the food is a plus! A great venue for Thai and good service.
Exceptional Thai food and atmosphere. The staff were very accommodating of my shellfish allergy and had plenty of recommendations to replace elements in dishes that contained seafood.
have moved more into the craft beer niche personally not a fan of extremely hoppy beets and 25/30 of them are also not a fan of paying $8+ per bet either foods quite good though some of the better wings in the city
Great patio location by the harbour. Service was excellent. Burger(huge) and fries were delicious
Went for lunch. Got the fried rice with chicken for 11$. Good food, friendly service, great price. They also have a patio so that’s a bonus.
I adore this restaurant! The fish and chips is my go to order. Not only is the fish a very generous portion, the fries are ample and delicious! It's a little more pricey than your average restaurant in Saint John. But a must stop if you're uptown looking for lunch.
Amazing authentic Thai food. We had lemongrass soup to start with a couple of starters. Golden Balls were the best and satays came very close. Main course was also very tasty. We felt, Thai Green Curry is the highlight of this wonderful restaurant. Both my daughter's enjoyed the Thai Green Curry. Price wise also it is not expensive at all. Overall, a great place for lunch and dinner ????????
Ordered take out once! Shared the pad thai and springrolls with my partner. We definitely had leftovers to enjoy the next day because the portions are huge! Will be back for sure!
I don’t know that words can actually describe my dish tonight. I was basically overwhelmed by how amazing it was. I had the Chiang Mai Noodles, and they were so incredible! Do yourself a favour and visit! (Also: The patio is not only extensive, but there’s also heat lamps for the cool times! )
Everything was tasty and delicious ! I ordered the Gluten Free Veggies Coconut Masala and it was the best ! Great service. Would recommend to anyone !
Very good Thai and Indian food. You'll lick your plate and your fingers until nothing left.
Very good service, very noisy foodgood expensive for the quality
Loved the food and the ambiance in the patio. The staff is helpful and friendly. I highly recommend trying fried Brussels Sprouts. Too bad I couldn't take a picture. They were gone so quickly. My kids, who don't eat Brussels Sprouts, loved it. Best part was that we could take our dog with us as it is pet friendly (patio).
Visiting Saint John on a staycation, we chose this restaurant as it was close to our hotel and looked like it was popular given the number of people inside. Covid protocols were in place and plexiglass screens separated the tables. Our server was quite friendly and explained all the specials. I started with a cocktail call “Don’t Ride the Elephant” ... basically a mojito with lemongrass. It was good but rather expensive like most of the alcohol here. That said, beer was on special that night and there was a good selection. We both started with a soup. Lemongrass seems to be an ingredient in most dishes and the soup was no different. It was rather disappointing however to find a plastic spoon. C’mon, not something you would expect here. My spouse opted for a curry dish but it was rather watery and not what she expected. I opted for “bar snacks” option. Basically it was a list of 8-10 small plates, not unlike Spanish tapas. Each dish was a fixed price - $8 per plate I think. This was a really nice option as you had a variety of different tastes. Some were a little cold suggesting they might have sat a while before being served. We ordered a wine which cost $52. It was interesting to see how much restaurants gouge you on alcohol. The wine cost ~$25 in the liquor store. We had the same wine at each place we stayed that week. At the Italian by Night it was $42 which was surprisingly nice given the quality of that restaurant. $62 at the Algonquin Inn in St. Andrews and a whopping $80 at the Delta Fredericton... almost 400% markup which was unnecessary. All in all, a nice meal despite some small criticisms. I would return. Please give a thumbs up if you found this useful.
This is not authentic Thai foods, not even remotely close. The green curry I ordered is just a bowl of thick cream, with coconut cream, the chicken is dry, and it has no spice. The appetizer is skewed lamb, but it is minced lamb, not lamb pieces, again there is no flavor. On top of terrible foods, service is slow, wait 45 mins for foods, and the place is empty. If you go there for drinks is OK, don't go there for foods.
This may be recency bias, but Lemongrass has displaced "Thai Basil" (downtown Toronto) as my favourite Thai restaurant. Can't wait to return and experience the night life.
One of my favourite places to get lunch. The pad Thai is superb and the service is always great!
Fantastic food, generous portion sizes and original recipes you wont find anywhere else. The kitchen staff clearly take pride in their work which is shown by the high level of consistency found with every order. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable bar tenders and wait staff who are more than happy to offer information on menu items. They have a large selection of craft beers from New Brunswick and across Canada. Enjoy a seat in their beautiful dinning room or the boardwalk patio located in the heart of Uptown Saint John. The owners have cultivated something special with this local gem. Truly a must visit for anyone coming to Saint John or locals looking to try something new.
Friendly staff, central and lively location with access to many other restaurants and bars. The food lacked flavour. Several vegetarian options.
This spot has a great patio and awesome food. I'm in love with their apps and curries. Located on the boardwalk, it is a great location during the day and also at night.
Ah Lemongrass/Peppers pub. Many a day spent on the patio with beer, friends and food. Lovely staff and great eats. At night Live music through the weekend. It's all win
Excellent location and service. Outdoor seating on a sunny afternoon is recommended. Had ordered beer - Radler & Koselig, carrot soup Bangkok curry & Red curry , both were served with white rice. The food was good though the carrot soup was high on Sichuan chili oil so took away a star for that! We had parked a little further from the market square near Dollarama. The town was not crowded as we visited after the circuit breaker measures ended this weekend.
I love their Pad Thai, but everything I've had from there has been excellent. Some of best flavoured food you can find.
Had the Pad Thai and it was good and beautiful but for me personally, I was disappointed. Portion was good for two meals but I found more Tofu than the chicken I ordered. Lots of fresh toppings, not a lot of actual flavour or just too dry for me. It’s good but I’ve had better for the price.
Super food! Super staff :) I really enjoyed my first experience here. There is a great ambiance and a good beer choice.
This is not What Thai food should taste like. The pat Thai is incredibly salty and the spring rolls have nothing but carbs in them.
Realy nice and tasty plate! All fresh and tasty! The sauces on the side of each is amazing!
Waitress was SWEET and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Food was AMAZING, fast service as well!
Food is great and service is too when they want to serve you. Ive been many times and have waited long periods of time to be noticed. Have asked and then forgotten. The food is excellent but the clickyness of some staff was so unbearable sometimes and had to walk out.
Loved it! Great food and service. Just the right amount of heat and flavor. We will go back again.
This place is a diamond in the rocks. Absolutely wonderful experience, from the first minute we walked in. Server was attentive and knew all about each dish and gave great advice, as well as each beer. This is a place I would definitely recommend to anyone. Fantastic. Thank you to our server who made it even more special.
Portion sizes were ok, but the food itself somewhat bland hence the 4 star Server was excellent. Super helpful and friendly. Also a really decent beer selection
Service is great, coconut chicken nasal a great. Lunch menu is same food as supper except very reasonable prices!
I want to give 6 stars food was excellent very good choice on local beer and about the service was exceptionnal way more than average thks to Michael our waiter
First wing night is Thursday at 8pm. And the price of the wings went from 14$ for 6 wings to 5$ after 8pm. So I was told that wings were good here but I would give a 3 out 5 on the wings. They are breaded quite a bit. Oh yeah and if you get their at 8pm or around make sure you order all your wings then because I was told I had to wait another 15-20 minutes for another pound of wings so I left.
Try the Tom Yum Goong – Lemongrass Soup ... very nice. A Thai classic. Jumbo shrimp in a unique hot and sour lemongrass broth.
Cosy, classy. The portions are mind blowing. Love time spent here.
Staff are friendly , restaurant is clean , food is AMAZING , location is great
Friendly staff, great food, I recommend trying the Pad Thai, also ask them for their hot sauce sampler tray, it’s fresh homemade with hot sauces, pastes, and oils Thai style! Delicious Flavours
A must visit! Pad Thai was delicious. Great service and atmosphere! Thanks for the awesome service Steph!
The place was lovely, the service was wonderful. Unfortunately the pad thai noodles I ordered came out extremely salty to the point of being inedible. I'm not sure if it was just the chef that day or just that menu. But they gave me another dish instead thankfully :)
Enjoyed lunch and dinners here close to the pier and local events on the walk way. Food is thai. Service is always easy coast friendly. Great to sit and have a drink with friends. I had the ginger beef last time. Not topical ginger beef made with a white wine. Absolutely delicious. Price is above average but it is a port city with many tourist in the busy season.
Delicious lunch at Lemongrass in St John Market Square... Cashew Chicken was phenomenal with a little heat added for my taste ! Worth the trip. Lovely spot outside to listen to buskers and music.
Food would of been fantastic as the flavours were great, however the 4 main dishes we ordered were all too salty. Other than that service and location was excellent.
I had the Massaman chicken curry today for lunch. When I was finishing up I ordered another helping for takeout to eat at home for supper. Now I suffer from abdominal discombobulation. Worth it!
Amazing food~! Really great thai that blew my mind
We ordered the appetizer platter, butter chicken and drunken noodles with beef. The portions were very big and the flavour was amazing! The money bags were my boyfriend's favourite. However, as a person who LOVES salt, it pains me to say that both mains were extremely salty, like to the point where I could not continue eating it. We told the waiter and they tried to fix it by watering it down but it was still VERY salty. The flavours were extremely delicious and very good but the salt is just incredibly overpowering. We were full after the platter so we got most of our mains to go but we when we tried to heat it up and eat it again we honestly had to throw it out from the amount of saltiness. I did see it in other reviews and hoped that it was a one-off but I think that they do constantly oversalt their food and hope that they take this as feedback to improve next time!
The food was excellent. Fresh, crisp vegetables, in Drunken Noodles. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Appreciate the covid rules and procedures.
The best food I had while visiting Saint John. Tastes very delicious, prices good, and staff very friendly and welcoming.
Nice deco and envoronment. Nice music. Food is tasty tried the platter mixed with pork chicken and beef and it was amazing. This place is a must in saint john. Nice service. And waiting time is moderated. When theres public events on the street, don't hope to get a table soon
Best pad tai this side of Thailand, excellent beer menu with very knowledgeable staff!! When we travel we usually eat places we've not experienced and not there twice the same trip, we couldn't help but go back the following night to try something else!!
Great atmosphere. Best thai noodles. Delicious.
Amazing patio with a view of the stage & live music. The food was fantastic (cashew chicken and red curry). The portions are generous - you could definitely split one meal for two people with some extra naan or rice.
BEST place we have found in St John after many years visiting here. We were looking for a place with healthy options and a good vibe and this was ALL that and more. The pad thai with shrimp on the lunch menu was amazing... I would highly recommend. Really nice natural lighting in there and also our server was soooo nice and sweet. Can't wait to go back!
