Great atmosphere, great place well decorated, food was delicious, we ordered burgers and drinks. Burger was 100% beef, juicy and yummy, drinks are refilled. Fries are Mehh not really but it’s okay because we ordered poutine and it was very good. Waiting time to bring the food was a bit more than usual but since we ordered food at 20:30 and the kitchen closes at 20:30 it was totally fine. Plenty of parking places outside the place. Nice young staff, very motivated, no English. Coming back again.

We present La Belle et la Barbe, a restaurant which on Tuesdays will instill a Pavlovian response of salivation and excitement with its " tartare à volonté ". This all-you-can-eat comes with its share of crispy fries, a fresh salad, as well as some crackers to go along with the feasting of- you guessed it- tartar. Everything is " à volonté ": salad, fries, and crackers. On the menu was a vicious three-pronged attack of tuna, beef, and salmon tartar that would reboot your dopamine receptors; yes, it's that good. We had excellent service and the price was DEFINITELY worth it (28$). The oysters are also 1$ from Sunday to Thursday and they have a wide selection of drinks and wines for everyone's taste. We definitely recommend reserving before, since the place is small and if the terrasse is closed, the indoor seating isn't big!

Love the staff and owner!!! They really know what you want as a customer and are you questions to help you make your choice. We went in with a bunch of friends and had no idea what we wanted. The server asked us a couple of questions and asked us to trust him so we did and the food was phenomenal. He made something custom just for us and we enjoyed the experience. Delicious, high quality eclectic food for a more than fair price. We had a mixed seafood platter as a starter which was fantastic, all ingredients were of the highest quality and tasted superb. In between, we had a half portion of mixed grilled meat platter chosen by the chef that was just mouthwatering (baby back ribs and Ossobuco). To top it all, we finished the night with a delightful 75 days aged Wagyu Tomahawk steak, grilled to perfection and tasted absolutely amazing. The restaurant itself is cosy, nicely decorated and casual. Service is friendly, efficient and courteous. We will definitely recommended and return. Bravo!!!

Et notre repas était vraiment ordinaire (planche individuelle: foie gras, salade césar de choux de Bruxelles et croquettes de bufflonne). Les choux n'étaient pas du tout cuits, le foie gras avait une drôle de texture et le pain brioché était sec et froid, les croquettes auraient pu être faites avec un fromage cheddar commercial, je n'aurais pas vu la différence. Notre sangria en apéritif était très très légère en alcool. La terasse est dans le stationnement à côté de la route. Bref, la jolie impression de s'être faits avoir. On retournera jamais là, c'est certain.

Very disappointing experience. My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant last night. We ordered oysters, cheese platter as the appetizer, within one hour, we only got the oysters, after I checked with the waiter, apparently there is a mistake (he forgot), well, later on, within 10 mins we got our cheese platter, however, there is no explanation for what are the cheeses. My boyfriend also order a gin (Ungava) as this is his favourite gin, he could tell that other than the gin and ice, they also put water in it to dilute the taste. Nonetheless, even we got a upsetting start, we are still expecting the main course. However, it’s still very disappointing, my boyfriend ordered the three choices from the “entrée “ as the main course ( saumon tartare, scallops and octopus) there are only two pieces of scallops and one tiny piece of octopus (the scallops and octopus charged extra) , the octopus actually taste very good. As you can see from the photos, the saumon tartare is actually a decent size, once again, the taste is really mediocre, I could make better than this. No offence but true. My boyfriend and I are both very disappointed with the service and the quality of the food. The price is not worth for what it is. This review might be a bit harsh but it’s truly how we feel. Two stars are for the $1 oysters.

Les trois autres personnes ont dû attendre encore plus longtemps afin que la cuisine leur prépare leur repas. Toutes les assiettes étaient "froides" lorsqu'elles nous ont été servies... Nous avions demandé de ne pas mettre de bacon dans la salade et elle nous est arrivée avec du bacon. Les pâtes n'étaient pas bien cuites et étaient tellement salées qu'elles n'ont presque pas été consommées... La serveuse n'est jamais venue nous voir durant le repas. Lorsqu'elle s'était enfin approché, je lui ai fait la remarque que la bouteille d'eau était vide depuis une heure... pour me faire répondre arrogamment qu'il fallait que je lui en demande... bien sûr, c'est pour ça qu'elle travaille fort... un pourboire ! Elle nous a offert un plateau de dessert, nous a apporté l'addition et s'est éclipsé le reste de la soirée. Son collègue est venu nous faire payer et nous a demandé comment s'était passé notre soirée. Nous avons été très honnêtes... après quoi, les deux serveurs nous ont regardé se lever et partir sans jamais nous dire "merci", "aurevoir" et "à la prochaine"... Avoir su, j'aurai invité mes amies à venir faire un BBQ à la maison...

It was just the slowness of the service that didn't get them the 5 stars. Nice ambiance, service was great. But was quite disappointed in the 40oz steak. It was barely enough for 2 people, let alone 3. And it was lacking seasoning but the cuisson was perfect. I've seen restaurants serve 4-5 pieces of meat topped with a generous mountain of mayo to hide the low amount of tartare. That of the bistro seemed quite generous to me. I would stay there again. Overall good experience, but there is room to improve. We went as a group of 9 wishing we said we were 10 by the end of the night. When we arrived there were 4 tables for 2 lined up. One side having 5 chairs. This made for a pretty tight and uncomfortable squeeze. Especially when the forks and knives came out. For the calibre of food they're putting out of the kitchen, I was pretty surprised they'd be the type of restaurant to skip on client comfort in order to create space for another 2 top. The general ambience was nice and gave a great first impression as to what dinner will be like. Things started out well, but by the end of dinner we felt like we were leaving a club. The music wasn't just loud by the end, but by 8:30 you couldn't communicate with the person across from you without yelling. If we were a smaller table, we probably would have been in and out before things got too loud. So lesson learned. Who knows, maybe I'm just getting old. As loud as it was, there's no denying that the food is worth it. Given the fact that there was nine of us, we expected food to be slow. Which it was, but they can't be faulted for that. It was a Saturday night, the place was packed, and we were only 1 of 3 large tables. When our apps did arrive, 1 hour after ordering, it was delicious. I ordered the calamari, and despite not knowing what it was when it first arrived, I'm glad I made the choice I did. It was lightly battered, stuffed with some crazy good, red based sauce, and it was cooked to perfection. As for the mains. They arrived shortly after and everyone was pleased with the final result. I opted for the bavette and though I was a little underwhelmed by the portion size at first, it ended up being the perfect amount of food. The temperature of the cook was bang on, but I did find it a tad salty. Which may be attributed to what I can only guess was a miso based marinade or sauce. Still edible and was quite tasty. So much so that I'd probably do it all over again in hopes that someone was just a little heavy handed on the seasoning last night. Really, aside from being salty, my only real gripe about the main was the knives they provide. 3 of us had steak and 1 had the duck. All of us struggled to cut our proteins. So please management, if you take anything away from this review. Please invest in better cutlery. All in all. Despite the cramped seating, loud music, and steak knives that could easily be confused for butter knives. I'd still happily return as a table of 2 or 4. Since most of my complaints could easily be attributed to the size of our group. I can't help but think La Belle et La Barbe is better than what I experienced last night. The staff are great, the food is well worth the price paid, and though it was loud by the end of the night, the ambience did provide a nice break from the typical restaurant experience in that price range.
