The food was good but it took almost over an hour for them to prepare our food. I watched a two separate people leave the restaurant and have their friends/family take out their food because it was taking too long and they had to go. Was excited that we could pick our spice levels but the waitress asked one person and assumed the rest of the table wanted the same ): If you're considering this place i would strongly suggest getting take out.

This place teeters between a 4 and 5 star. Everything we had was solidly good within it's realm. Highlights were the stuffed chicken wings and the 2 Curry soup we tried, albeit its rare for me to find a place that does the soup poorly. We needed to ask for rice to go with our soup though. The servers explanation of why it wasn't served with was very valid. Essentially when they served it with, the customers didn't touch it, so it was just wasted. The calamari salad was also very good. I had wanted a laotian dish thrown in the mix, this was the server recommendation. We asked about the stir fry and our server claimed he didn't really care for it (not his presence for style of food). We ended up ordering the most popular one just for the review. Bird's nest stir fry. It was fine... But not a stand out do in my opinion. It tasted good, but there are just other items that are better here. Food took awhile to come out, but everything was piping hot and fresh when served. Environment is comfortable and felt cleaner than the other Asian restaurant in this shopping block. Service was informative and friendly. The tap water we were served tasted a little weird.

Used to be my favourite spot for laotian food, they have changed chefs and owners. Food is not as good anymore. Friendly staff though.

I went with two coworkers over our lunch hour. We ordered at 12:25. After some wait, my wonton soup came out and at first I waited for everyone to have their meal. My coworker's summer rolls came out next and the third person with us insisted we begin eating since I had been staring at my soup for over 10 minutes at that point. By 1:15, we had to get back to the office and one of my coworkers never got his food at all. The food was fine. It wasn't good, it wasn't awful, it was entirely forgettable. We normally go to Vientiane Restaurant in the same strip mall and only tried Boun's for a change. What a mistake! The food at Vientiane is outstanding. The prices and service are also incredible and we have never been late getting back to the office no matter how busy they are. I strongly suggest you walk a few doors down and get a far better value for your time and money.

Great place for a nice dinner with exotic food. Good portions makes moneys worth. People are very friendly. Has parking within the strip mall area. Good place for family dinner top.

I placed an order in person. When I went to pay, I was charged me $128.00 instead of $113.65. They charged me: - more than the menu prices -used a calculator instead of a cash register. - The calculator was set to round up to the nearest dollar I showed him the calculator was set wrong but his reply was “that’s the way we always do it.” Food wasn’t even that great…

We have been long time patrons of Boun's, but this time things were different. Very slow service on a Friday lunch service, and it took over 30 minutes for us to be served. Also they forgot my rice completely. This was in no way the fault of the single server on the floor. They need no less than two servers on a Friday for sure, one at the till and dedicated kitchen staff.

We ordered for pickup u at lunch. I would say 3.5 stars. Their green curry soup and potato yellow curry were flavourful and came hot. You can spice your own dish. The counter was friendly. The only gripe is that they don't give you rice for you order. I ordered the potato curry which should come with rice, why charge extra?

First time ordering through Uber Eats from this place. The crab wontons were on point - even still warm and not soggy when they arrived. The pad thai? One of the most popular thai dishes EVER? It was horrible! It was clearly made well in advance, possibly a day or two before. The noodles were all soggy. When I served it up on a plate, it came out of the to go container in one big blob. I asked for spice level 5 - it wasn't spicy at all. The green onions on top were wilted and chewy - I had to pick em out. It was awful. I won't be ordering from here again.

I hate flavorless pad thai. If there was a contest for the most unimpressive pad thai they'd win.

Always fantastic and such large portions. Giant glasses of wine. So fresh and aware of allergies.

Great food. Just beware of the spice level, anything over a 2 is really hot.

One of my fav places to eat. Love the Laotian chicken noodle, lapp salad and noodle dishes.

Sabrina

The Pho was delish and so was the Potato Curry.

Dee Dudych

First time I've been here.....Shared with a friend the chicken skewers with peanut satay (marinated but not breaded....deep fried), coconut cream soup with veggies and chicken and the lemongrass veggie stir fry with beef.....FANFRIGGINTASTIC!! Great place to go if your doing KETO!! We paid $18.50 @ (that was with 15% tip.....extremely reasonably priced and worth every penny). Will definitely go back! Thanks for the great meal Boun's!!

This place used to be absolutely great. We just ordered take out from the new owners, however... Spring rolls: salty and tasted of old oil. Dipping sauce was more liquid salt. Panang curry: the peas an carrots were frozen. Not bad, per se, but they were old, too. Not much sauce, and more veg than chicken. Bland compared to how it used to be. Basa with yellow curry: INEDIBLE. The fish was disgustingly old tasting and ruined my first plate. Threw it all out. Chow fat: flavourless pork with similarly flavourless noodles and broccoli instead of gai-lan. Creamy coconut soup: this is their take on tom-ka. The main flavour profile is salty chicken broth with a slight hint of coconut and dishwater. Nothing was good. NOTHING. We spent a bunch of money to throw it all away. Utterly terrible. Go ANYWHERE ELSE.

Come here a few times a month, their chow meins are amazing and are very generously sized. You can have different spiciness levels depending how adventerous you are. Their soups and curry are also amazing.

Went about 2-3 years ago and it was quite good. I would have given it a 3-4 stars back then. Fast forward to 2020 and it's not really comparable. 4 dishes, all quite bland, none of them spicy, they didn't even ask what spice level we want. $60 for 4 dishes and you pay for your own none reusable containers. Not worth it. Also the Pad Thai is the worst in Winnipeg. Can't even consider it Pad Thai.

One of our absolute favourite restaurants for when we come home to see family.

The owners have changed and so has the food. My pad thai was VERY sweet, with no tang or heat. The salad rolls were half the size and not as good either. I won't be coming here anymore.

Dan Poovong

Great Lao Thai food at good price and excellent service.

Mel Peters

Best green curry in Winnipeg. Amazingly good.

C Schmidt

They're getting 2 stars only because of how good they USED to be. I just spent $66 & a 30 minute drive to throw it in the garbage. The spring rolls tasted like old oil. The fish in the basa curry tasted so salty & old my husband threw it right into the trash. The panag curry was tasteless with very little sauce & the chow fat noodles were cooked with broccoli instead of the gai Lai as advertised. This used to be our go to. Sadly after a ruined birthday supper we will not be back.

Maurice Senecal

So much flavour...I will be back.

Virasone Thongsakhom

The papaya salad is very good compared to Magic Thailand, I will definitely be going back.

Shawn Fletcher

Coconut curry soup and the summer rolls with peanut sauce are awesome.

Joey Struthers

Not as good as it used to be. Waited over 20 mins before we finally had to get our own menus and then after ten MORE minutes oc nobody coming to our table we had to go up to the front and ask if we could place our order. it's definitely changed for the worse in the past year.

Candace Link

Love the coconut curry soup!!! And summer rolls!!

Lorne Goring

Telly Denbrok

Very good cuisine and prices are reasonable. I recommend you try Boun's.

Rob C

First time visit - walked in, sat down, walked out. The person serving seemed very rude - greeted by throwing menus on table and when we asked a question the answer came with a harsh response. Plus, no music in the restaurant to cover up other Customer's conversations.

I had the Spring rolls and Chowmein noodles, they were great. I would go back to this place again.

Mike Shaver

Best Thai in Winnipeg easily.

Melissa Sharp

Ate there lots inside which was always great! However dont order for takeout. Vegetable pad thai had 4 pieces of broccoli and couple carrots and that was it for vegetables with next to no sauce. Just clumped cooked plain noodles and no taste. Sadly this is 2nd time attempted take out. Wont do again.

Philippe Vrignon

Would have given a 5 but they don't sell beer.

Great food, fantastic service

Ordered the chicken soup on skip. There was hardly any broth. The noodles were gummy and all congealed. I won’t be ordering from them again. Vientiane does a way better job.

Charles Bonneteau

Used to be one of our favorites. Ordered last night and everything was beyond bland and Chicken was so rubbery it was in eatable. You could also tell they just used frozen vegetables.

Dan Collette

Absolutely disgusting. I used to love this place when Boun was around it has since gone down hill .

Peter Dolman

The best Chow Mein I;'ve ever tasted. The Apple Salad was also really tasty. A nice place, nice seating, and lovely lady who really looks after you. I'm tempted to try some other dishes, but the Chow Mein is so good, I might stick with that forever.

Irene C

I was introduced to Boun's a couple of years ago - delicious, tasty and if you like it HOT than this is the place for you! Super staff, and enjoy a glass of "filled to the rim" vino!! A+++

Laurie Campbell

The absolute best Coconut curry soup!!

I have tried every dish on the menu and nothing has disappointed me and I am a very picky eater. This is hands down one of my favourite restaurants in the city.

Great family run restaurant. Impeccable Thai/Laotian food and a mainstay in St. Bon face. Keep up the good work!
