First time trying this gem of a restaurant! We had the butter chicken and it was amazing. The two chefs were friendly and professional, they even put in an extra side of naan for us! Highly recommend.

The Hot Grill is the Cats meow, Bees Knees, the Cats Pajamas, it is a delightfully simple yet elegant place to eat. The food is to die for. Delicious with every bite, filling and at an amazing price. The Keg was my favorite place to eat until I discovered this wonderful restaurant. The size of a Cafe but with the chefs of a five star restaurant. Whether it's for a small lunch or a large dinner they are spot on every time. I have yet to be disappointed in any way. The serving staff is quick, friendly, talkative and deserve every tip they get. As a picky eater it's hard to find a place that gets my return business and I keep going back over and over and over again. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!!!

After doing some Christmas shopping I wanted to sit down for some lunch to support a local restaurant and after searching restaurants on Google I found The Hot Grill. The prime rib burger was extremely tasty and all the ingredients fresh. I also had the sweet potato fries with a chipotle dip was also really good. My server was friendly, quick on her feet and the restaurant very clean. At the end of the meal I believe the owner/ chef came to welcome and thank me for coming in, a very special touch in my mind. I would definitely come back to try the other menu items as I could hear the table near me raving about their choice. Great job guys my Birthday is now complete:)

WOW., you don’t find this often anymore. Absolutely outstanding service and delicious food. The chef even came out to make sure we were satisfied. The Prime Rib Beef Dip was so fresh and outstanding with flavour. Mushroom Soup is a must have. I will definitely back. We are lucky to have you here in St. Albert!

These guys are great. I liked the last place but this is a step up for sure. A great blend of different foods. I had the Sri Lanka Curry Pot with Shrimp and it was amazing. The others in our party had Butter chicken (also awesome) and two Clubhouses. They were huge and spectacular: Chicken, bacon, a fried egg and cheese all on focaccia bread. The service was friendly and the Amitha (chef) came to see how everything was. Excellent neighbourhood restaurant. The prices are fair for the amazing food and portions.

This place is an absolute gem. The prices are more than fair, the portions are massive. The quality is second to none. The waitress who helped us was an absolute pleasure to deal with, so kind. The chef came out and talked with us. All in all this is the type of place that I will return to time and time again. Highly highly recommend. Today's order was the beef cheesesteak sandwich with au jus and penne pasta with rose sauce and chicken. Absolutely to die for holy smokes

My husband and I decided to give Hot Grill a try after reading all the rave reviews. We definitely weren't disappointed! I had Salmon Benny and my hubby had a frittata. Food was hot, fresh and very tasty!! Will be back to try to dinner!

When I read in the Gazette how these chefs were laid off due to the Covid Pandemic and pooled their resources; risking a new restaurant venture themselves mid-economic downturn instead of becoming wards of the state, I had to support them. RESPECT! This is a great new restaurant. The food was amazing. One of the best burgers and by far the best yam fries I’ve ever had. (See pic) The sauces they make are amazing. My wife and I returned a few days later for desserts and they were great. We got the fried apple pie and the crepe. The presentation is awesome on all their dishes. This will be a regular eating spot for us. We look forward to trying more on their menu. The yam fries will be standard at every visit. Update: went back. Large yam fries off the bat. Tried the butter chicken. SO GOOD! The chefs introduced themselves and the service was great. We are settled. This is our go-to date night restaurant from now on. Can’t wait to try more items on the menu. Go support these guys - it’s a matter of principle for me. They deserve it and the food is excellent. Supporting local business keeps our property taxes down and it’s a win-win. God bless entrepreneurs like this! P.S. Using third-party/app delivery services is convenient for us all but come at shockingly huge costs to small restaurants (30-40 percent)! Let’s keep our hard-earned dollars local; call directly and pick up food from small restaurants yourself if you can. It really makes a world of difference. Local businesses are the lifeline of our community.

I sat on the patio with 5 friends last night. We were all impressed with the varied menu, excellent food, generous portions, good prices and great service. 3 in our group had Prime Rib Dip and said it was the best they'd ever had. The Chicken Carbonara, Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl and Butter Chicken Bowl were equally pleasing. We shared the Roasted Artichoke & Spinach Dip with some delicious house-made tortilla points. I had one of the best Caesar Salads I've come across and word was the French Fries are excellent. The chef came out and spoke with us which was a nice surprise. We'll all be back!

Just found this little gem highly recommend it. Has a great menu and everything was hand made and fresh. Second time update. Went with another couple and we all tried something different and it was all amazing. I like spicy the curry was delicious as was the devill chicken for an app. If you don't like it too spicy the chef will cook to your taste so let him know before hand. The plating and thought put into every dish makes this place a 5 star restaurant.

Both the food and service here are nothing short of spectacular. Delicious dishes, enough variety for those who want to experience some exquisite Sri Lankan, Indian or Asian flare, or those who want more classic (i.e burgers). The Sri Lankan dish was exceptionally yummy! Wonderful people and and a great dining experience.

Absolutely my new favorite go to! On top of THE best flavours, the service is beyond excellent. They anticipated all the needs of the guests, went above and beyond to make sure we're enjoying our meals. Even the chef himself came out to ensure everything was to our liking. I have gone over 3 times this week because there is so many different things I wanna try! Every single thing I have tried on the menu has been different and delicious! Nightly recommend!

Ate here a few days ago, but Forgot to leave a review. This establishment deserves its credible reviews. Delicious food, prepared with care. Prices are fair, as (considering the portions) most items were under $20. The owner introduced himself whilst I was picking up my order. He and the staff were polite and Friendly. They also provide a special of the day (happened to be lasagna that day, a party ordered some, and wow did it ever look good, I was eyeing that dish up and down ). You tell me where you can go to get a premium lasagna meal for $15. Last but not least : The presentation... icing on the cake !! Bravo !!

The Sri Lanka Curry Pot is the best meal I have ever had! The service is excellent. Don't pass up this little gem of a restaurant. And if curry is not your thing, there are plenty of more conventional items on the menu. Highly recommended.

My Fiancé and I were Lucky enough to find this Gem. Ordered take out for the 1st time today and we were not disappointed! The portions were large, the price affordable and the presentation was wonderful. For take out one doesn't usually expect a presentation as lovely. We want to Thank Chef Amitha for creating such wonderful food. He doesn't just have great skill he also has a Genuine and Kind personality. Thank you for going above and beyond. Had the most amazing meal tonight. Beautiful casual dining experience but the food was absolutely amazing. A friend told me about his restaurant and we tried it tonight! The pasta was amazing! The burger was epic! Such friendly staff and the chef actually came out to make sure we enjoyed our evening! We were going to go to another restaurant tonight that’s was supposed to be very up scale and expensive but the gentleman was so rude on the phone we decided to give the Hot Grill a chance tonight. You can’t get a better meal! Congratulations to the owners, the chef and the staff. Continued success!

My wife and just ate here. If i could give a 10 star rating i would..this is definitely a 5 star restaurant. Food os absolutely spectacular, hot and fresh. The chief comes to your table to ask your opinion on the food, that goes to show the level of care and pride they put fourth in there food. And prices are cheap, in comparison to the quality of food and service.. i cant wait to eat everything on the menu

Just had lunch here for the first time :) our table ordered the spinach dip and flatbread as appetizers...both amazing!! Then we ordered and the mains were equally amazing :) I had a chicken caesar salad (real bacon on the salad) my friends ate the fish n chips the prime rib dip and the alfredo with shrimp all of them loved their meals. The clam chowder wasnt enjoyed but the owner and chefs were so concerned they asked how they could improve it...they were so ingratiating:) excellent customer service ! I would recommend :)

Wow, what a delight to enjoy take out this evening. The Cobb salad was huge and so very fresh. Salt and pepper wings were well seasoned and not fatty or greasy. We will definitely order from here again and this might just be our new favourite place!

We had the most delicious meal at The Hot Grill. Even though it was afternoon, they had no problem creating a delicious omelette, personalizing their signature club sandwich and served up the best burger and beef dip. The portions are big and the bill was reasonable. We will definitely be back!
