Excellent quality good prices. The menu features can be more expensive, but always tasty. Nice beer on tap. Pleasant window light.
Stopped in for dinner last week. The hostess asked us if we had a reservation, spoke to a manager on duty and looked around a 25% full restaurant and told us she wouldn't be able to accommodate us. We understand the concept of reservations and expect to wait or more commonly get shuffled around but they couldn't have cared less. Wont be back.
Food is always delicious
Epic dinner. Tried a little of everything & every bite was incredible. Good staff, good atmosphere & great food. Definitely a must if your a fan of Cajun cuisine.
Great looking place. Great service. Great food.
Loved their fresh oyster! A little bit expensive resto in downtown St. Albert but its worth it! A New Orleans feels! ????
Love this place
Always great and value prices
Decent food but over spiced for my liking and over priced
Great food as always, very generous portions, all round good experience in Covid times nice to know you can still get a terrific dinner, albeit as take-out only these days.
Great food, love the different jambalaya dishes
Best restaurant in St Albert. So many dishes to choose from and all freshly created by a kitchen staff second to none!
AMAZING staff, food, and ambience! I highly recommend eating here!!!
Chicken and Sausage Gumbo!! Go get some.????
The portions are big, but the food is somewhat bland for Cajun.
Excellent dessert!
Great
Great local eatery
A very busy place. Service was great and every one at our table of four was very happy with the food. We will definitely revisit.
Previously gave 4 stars a few years ago. We used to love their po boys, especially the oyster po boy. Unfortunately it has taken a big turn for the worse. Tasteless oysters and very mediocre sandwich overall nowadays. Please bring back the flavour and quality...
Meal type
Amazing food and authentic service
New food to me tasted great small portions dessert especially tantalizing.
Place had some really cool art work. Good food. Lots of hot sauce at the front.
Great homemade, fresh gumbo's!
I have been coming to the Cajun house for at least seven or eight years now. It is my hands down favourite restaurant. And in my opinion the best Cajun food there is. I have introduced several friends to their delicious cooking and not a single person has ever been disappointed. I have been working in the restaurant industry for 12 years and can honestly say that this is the only restaurant that has ever checked off every box for me. The food is amazing and unique, they always have seasonal menus with dishes that are equal or even better than their regular menu. The ambiance and view are hands-down the best out of Edmonton area and St. Albert restaurants I have ever been to (I’ve been to all of them). Their Decour is unique, an old fashioned fine dinning setup splashed with a funky Louisiana twist. The entry with a glass display of different types of hot sauce and the walls with different artist’s renditions of bottles of Tabasco sauce (which are probably my Second favourite thing next to the food, I wish that I could hang these in my house). I have tried almost everything on the menu but I have to say that the Chicken Monroe is always going to be my favourite (make sure to ask for a side of extra sauce, you will thank me later). Last but not least, creators of one of the top 3 desserts in the city. The white chocolate cheesecake, make sure you save room for this baby, you won’t regret it.
I put the waitress on the spot and had her pick my meal for me as I could not decide because everything on the menu sounded so amazing! She did not dissapoint! Chantal picked the Chicken Jackson and I enjoyed every bite!! Lovely atmosphere! Great service! Tasty food!
Super friendly staff and really good food. I had raw oysters to start and then the Seafood Jambalaya. The portions are large but the crab was a little over cooked in the jambalaya.
Always great food
Great food here since I can remember. White chocolate raspberry cheesecake is awesome.
Loved the coconut shrimp a d the vegetarian jambalaya... we had a great window seat and the service was very good. Food came hot!
Beautiful and delicious food. Very good service.
Fantastic atmosphere and food! I would highly recommend the puff pastry wrapped cheesecake.
The staff here were super accommodating to our needs. They let us pay when our food arrived so we could leave at our leisure, as we were running a little late to a theatre showing. The server was super friendly and cheerful. Very respectable. They checked in on us just enough. Give those servers a wage boost! Food wise, I was expecting a really strong spice component. It was a little mild? But I think that's good for a majority of people XD. I'm just a more spicey person lol. The dishes we seasoned will just not aggressively as you normally imagine cajun food. Scallops were cooked super crispy! Most of the seafood component was well cooked and not rubbery at all. So good on the chefs! I also had frogs legs for the first time! It was very mild not what I was expecting meat wise.
Love the atmosphere and great food
Great Cajun food in a comfortable environment. Came in for lunch and would like to come back to explore the menu more. The deserts are all made in house so save room!!
I had went for lunch. I had the mimosas salad and crab and corn chowder. My meal was alright. However I went with my 1yr old and had ask for a small amount of steamed veggies for her. They charged me $7.00 for it and I thought that was pretty ridiculous. I don't think we'll be back. I didn't expect them for free but I was expecting it to be much less than that!
The food was not as good as last time I was there. Our server was WONDERFUL! (we are not related ????)
First time my mom and I went there we were stunned. The interior design captivated me, and the idea of them selling their spices and sauces triggered my impulsive spending habits. Thankfully for every time I've been there I'm broke as my mom always covers the bill. The food on the other hand is also amazing. I always get their Pecan chicken because it's to die for. I'll probably try their coconut shrimp one day.
Fairly loud a the start of our evening but definitely quited down a little later. Food was alright although very salty. Only half hour table was impressed. $$$
Louisiana Jambalaya is yummy! (Minus the red sauce). Plus the Mango crush cocktail is very good!
For a first time it was an awesome experience with great food and amazingly friendly staff.
The food here is fantastic! The staff are so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend visiting Cajun House for their seafood gumbo!
The food was delicious, friendly waiter! The Gombo is to die for. The food was also fast and fresh. The only thing I’d say that needs improvement is their sliced bread that came with the smoked salmon appetizer ( it didn’t taste fresh). But overall nice ambiance and wonderful service! I’ll visit again!
Always great food.
Cannot recommend enough. Delicious food and awesome service.
Food is delicious and staff is very nice!
Always great. Love that place. My favorite. Great food, great service and great prices.
Always great food. My wife loves the chicken Jackson every time. The jambalaya is awesome.
Wonderful portion sizes
What an absolutely beautiful experience. The food was delectable and the service was top notch. I was at a 5 pm dinner for an in-laws birthday and the staff was so accommodating with my toddler and infant that it felt like we were at home. Even with my young children at dinner the Cajun House was able to accommodate our family in a space that didn't interfere with other patrons and let us have dinner with great food. This place is a st albert institution, Anyone who says otherwise is wrong and probably dead inside.
Really good food, coffee, and welcoming staff.
Great Creol cajun menu. Quite delicious and filling. Beware the "petite" portion is not really that petite!
Went here for Saturday night late dinner with my girlfriend and her mom. Food was very flavourful and big portions. Price was a little higher, but what do you expect if you’re paying for seafood. Will try again and see what other menu items are like.
Quality food at reasonable prices, friendly and knowledgeable staff, comfortable venue with a warm atmosphere
Love the food and the portions are excellent. I also like that on some of the meals, you can order the half size - I really love their mud pie for dessert so I have to save room for it. ???? Parking can be tight/limited so I go early (around 5:15).
The food and the staff are first class
The Cajun house is a very quaint restaurant in St. Albert. It caters to a high class crowd. My favorite item is the chicken po'boy. The bread is so soft and fresh and the chicken lightly breaded and tender. I also like the jambalaya.
This place is fantastic! I tried the frogs legs, fried pickles, gumbo and oyster po-boy. Frogs legs were absolutely amazing, as was the gumbo. Fried pickles were excellent as well and we'll cooked, just nothing to write home about. As for the po-boy.. it was also we'll cooked, but simply lacked seasoning. Not much for a depth of flavor for that dish.. but good nonetheless
Always amazing food. I love their seasonal menus!
Service
Absolutely fantastic everytime. If you think Louisiana purchase is good then you've obviously never been to Cajun House. Been coming here for years and after having tried Louisiana Purchase, I will continue coming here. Seasonal menus at Cajun house are always special and very well done. Can't say enough good things, see you soon.
I love the Cajan house the food is so good and the service is impeccable this place is great for a romantic dinner or a big event. The meeting room is great and the location is perfect. There is always parking. And the Desserts are to die for!!!!
Pros: Big portions, Lots of choices, Warm decor, Friendly service Cons: Lacked in spice which is not good for a place with Cajun food, lacking salt
Beautifully presented and quite good tasting food, however; my friend and I shared the Sea Food Jambalaya, Alligator Sausage, and Frog Legs and both ended up quite ill about an hour after leaving the restaurant. Be weary of the sea food!
Great food. A classic menu that fills you up every time
Fantastic restaurant, atmosphere, staff.. Not like the typical cookie cutter restaurants. Have tons of great fish dishes and the side dishes and sauces are always fantastic. Great caesar salad! They have a small and large portion option for their dishes and that is a great feature if you don't feel like eating lots, but you'll be sorry you didn't have leftovers to take home!
Service was excellent as well as the coconut shrimp. The seafood jambalaya was made with frozen vegetables instead of fresh which was disappointing. The mimosa salad was underwhelming and the chicken wasn't fresh (served cold). The chowder also tasted like it was made with canned corn. Not a whole lot tasted fresh unfortunately.
First time to the Cajun house. Totally empty at the time we came, mid afternoon. I ordered the combo plate which had Louisiana Jambalaya, shrimp Creole, beans and sausage. Everything was was excellent except the sauce that the shrimp was in. I've never had Creole sauce before, smell like yummy tomatoes but tastes nasty. The shrimp that was in the sauce were very excellent however. Lost a star for the sauce.
Work and wine!! These guys have big portion sizes and fantastic food!
Service and food was fantastic. A little pricey but excellent
Great mussels...
Great food
My favorite restaurant. I come here often. The menu is awesome and the daily specials never disappoint. The staff are super friendly and know me by name.
It was our first time here Lovely place good service and good food Another good place to go to Cheers
Awesome
Great food and great staff,Will definitely return.
They've had the same menu since 1983. If you're cool with that, then why not go here? I usually order waves of oysters in the half shell and I haven't had food poisoning yet. I'll go back.
Great food. Spice good Louisiana style. I did enjoy it. Service was great. Restuarant atmosphere is warm and friendly. Thanks
Great food, generous portions and good prices.
Excellent service and food.
The word got out that this place is amazing! It’s harder and harder to gets seat.
incredible place, good service, unreal food, good price. I will make this a regular stop when I go back to Etown for sure
Best food, service and price
Had the Pecan Chicken and it was great.
Great food, great price, wonderful service. It's good if you're single; better on a date or with friends. Highly recommend it! ????
This has been my mom's favourite restaurant for a very long time so we tend to go here twice a year. We've never been disappointed by any of our choices from the menu. Service is always fantastic. The servers make great recommendations.
Blackened Cajun steak with pasta, so good!
Great southern style menu! A great place for lunch as well! Try the frogs legs if your brave enough, you won't be disappointed.
(Translated) Cool atmosphere. (Original) Cool ambiance.
Yummmmm is all I can say!
great food every time
Good food
Excellent
This is an ok restaurant, not great, not bad, just ok. Service was pretty good but food was very average. Had the Jambalaya which comes in a very generous portion but was dry and the sausage within it very over cooked. Others in my party had a po boy , jambalaya, a shrimp dish and chicken. EVERYONE said it was ok, no great, not bad, just ok. No idea why this place is so popular as it is not even remotely close in quality and authenticity as Louisiana purchase or the old southern comfort restaurant in Edmonton. Basically, if you don't feel like driving to Edmonton for quality cajun food, its worth coming to Cajun house....If "just ok" is your thing
Over cooked mussels for my appy and over cooked seafood in my seafood jambalaya. Over priced
Steak is unique from the others and covered with feta cheese - I loved it. Service is fantastic: friendly and attentive. Dessert is very well presented and tasty as well
Great service, good sea food, flavorful dishes
Take-out was just as delicious and beautiful as dining in!
Great food. Wonderful service. Great atmosphere. You really should try it.
Great service. Great food. Huge portions. Everything was very fresh
Everything was fantastic!
If u like spicy food, then this place is for you. My husband and I went there for a bite to eat. It was an ok place, lots if older people. We felt out if place.
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and had an amazing experience, shrimp caesar was amazing, food was exceptional with the exception of my mussels I had as my entre, you could tell they had been sitting for just too long. Service was also on point and the atmosphere was great for a date night or larger party.
Always consistently excellent even after 20 odd years. Maybe more?
Food is awesome, great atmosphere, ok prices
One of my favourite restaurants in the Edmonton Region. Always tasty and tender food and probably the best gumbo around. I've been here probably two dozen times in the last 20 years and have never been disappointed.
We've had the food here twice and it is always done top notch! I've been to Louisiana multiple times and the food is so so close to the real thing! If you can't be in the south, it's the next best thing!
5 star service and food. Have been going here for as long as I can remember. Consistently great food and service. Cannot say anything negative.
St.Alberts best kept secret!!!
Take out
Last time I was at this restaurant was the late 80's. Not sure if same restaurant name back then. Not for any reason just never go to this building. I was invited to have lunch here. It was great. Food and service was great for lunch time. Would recommend it. One thing to keep in mind parking is not the best but can get parking on the street.
Food is completely under seasoned. I had the chicken po boy and asked for no tomato. They obviously put the tomato on and then pulled it off because they left pieces behind. Only half the sandwich had a tiny bit of sauce and bread was soggy. Chicken had no seasoning whatsoever and the entire thing was bland. The Caesar salad was half dressed and had no flavor. Also, I find $3.00 for half a can of coke with a bunch of ice to be a bit much. The price of the food vs the quality definitely isn't worth it. Won't be eating here again.
Very delicious food, was served quick, and waitress was friendly.
An old favourite haunt tucked away in a nondescript office building.
A great experience and a great way to step out of your comfort zone and try unique foods! Absolutely wonderful! A beautiful atmosphere with plenty of tables, some booths and a more secluded area with more tables. I have been here a few times with my boyfriend. Amazing service! The entrees are heavenly. I really enjoy the chicken with cream cheese and smoked salmon on top! We have also come here with his parents and we all shared the alligator appetizer and all enjoyed the flavor and texture of the dish. The last time we visited The Cajun House, it was the day before my birthday and we decided to try the frog legs! They were very yummy! Small amount of meat (to be expected), but totally worth it! HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!
I've always had wonderful service here and the food never disappoints. Would definitely recommend
I really enjoyed my meal here. I would not say the food is over the top amazing but it is very good and very well priced. The drinks are well priced too. It really offers the full range of both Cajun and creole food and it was very tasty. The desserts are really good too.
I'm sad that I can only give 5 stars. Long time favorite of my wife and mine. Perfect meal: Gumbo to start, Filet Mignon Ya Ya entree, and the white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Excellent value and the staff are the best. Cannot say enough to good things about this St. Albert classic! Also try the poyboys, the jambalaya, and the Chicken Jackson.
Great food friendly staff
Nice atmosphere..good food
Great food, cozy atmosphere and great staff
Dinner
We have now been here 2 times and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food is delicious and served hot. Our server was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is great. It was our 31 anniversary and when we ordered desert the server put a sparkler on it. It was a nice gesture. The only thing that I would suggest and it would make the restaurant classier is either having a better quality napkin or even a cloth one. Otherwise I highly recommend coming here to enjoy the food and ambiance.
Amazing restaurant with amazing food. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area to try this place if you haven't yet.
My favorite place in St. Albert to eat. So delicious
Had my brithday dinner here. I had a great time.
Great food and I like the option to get a half portion if desired.
Never been disappointed in our menu choices.
Amazing food and beer at a decent price. Just had the chicken poboy with the chicken gumbo and I loved every bite. Total cost for everything was under 25$
Always a great place for dinner. Exceptional service.
Food was delicious service was good.
I have eaten at The Cajun House four times now, and had a wonderful experience there every time! I've ordered the Combination plate 3/4 times because it is that awesome. This last time I got the Pasta Jambalaya to change things up and it was excellent as well. Service is friendly, the desserts are fantastic, and prices are relatively affordable, especially when you take in to consideration the generous portion sizes. The Cajun House is currently my top choice for a dine-in restaurant in St. Albert!
A staple in St.Albert! Reasonably priced and super consistent. I love the seafood or chicken and sausage gumbo!
This was my first time trying alligator and frog and I got to do it all in the same night. This was a great place to try a first like alligator and frog legs.
Excellent food and service.
Changed new menu, great service, fantastic choices. Always friendly always fresh.
Awesome food, great ambiance. The chef and some of the staff have been there 25+ years. That says a lot for a business in today's market.
We really enjoy this restaurant. The food is tasty and the staff friendly and helpful. Cajun House offers most of their main meals as a petit or regular portion. The petit portion is large enough for most and a reasonable price for what you. A kids menu rounds out the family dining experience. Parking is scarce and you may need to park across the street or further down the street.
Parking is limited. Were sat and took 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken. Could see our drinks sitting there and asked another waitress for them but still took another 5 minutes to receive them. Nobody took our order for 20 minutes. Food was decent, my wife enjoyed the crab cake meal. I had Shrimp Creole however the portion size was very small so watched my wife eat for 15 minutes after I finished. Wife said bathroom was not taken care of. Would not go back.
Excellent Cajun/creole food !!!
Great food and great service. Off topic, also enjoy my company. Love her lots..
Great food. Great service. Will be back.
Great food, great service, always pleased to eat there
Always good food.
Awesome food
Had a fantastic meal for our group of 4 here recently.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Great atmosphere and staff make for a wonderful dinning experience. The food is delicious and there is a great selection to choose from. Best restaurant in town, by far!
Always enjoy a night out at the Cajun House
This place is authentic, affordable, and delicious. It is slightly hidden, but worth it! Great for dates, family suppers, and all that jazz. They serve alligator, how cool is that? The coffee is surprisingly good and well, so that's another plus. Go! Go now!
I've been coming here for years, its one of the nicer restaurants in St. Albert. Make sure you try the fried cheesecake!
Delicious food every time I've been there.
Picked it up for takeout tonight, it was just as delicious as if we ate in the restaurant! The food was hot, fresh, and packed properly.
This is a hidden gem in St Albert. The muffaletta sandwich is really good with genoa salami, Italian ham, provolone cheese and olive tapenade. The chicken and sausage gumbo is delicious as well.
Nice atmosphere, yummy cocktails, FANTASTIC food. The white chocolate raspberry cheesecake is to die for!
Came here for a grad lunch. Never been, and honestly I wasn't disappointed either. We budgeted 500 dollars for 5 people. After drinks and appies and entrees it was around 200 with tip. And the food was very tastey! This is worth a stop in if you like cajun comfort food!
Love going here!! The food is amazing and they recork your wine for free!!!
Popped in once and enjoyed my meal and service. Classy fast and friendly. Would highly recommend it
I never have high expectations for restaurants attached to hotels, but this was delightful! Really eclectic menu that definitely convinced me I would need to return before even ordering. I had never had Cajun food before, but it was great! My fiancee doesn't like spicy food but had no problem with it, and my mom doesn't eat wheat products but was happy with the options. Everything from the appetizers to dessert was very well prepared and you left feeling full but not too 'heavy'
Stopped in for the mother-in-law's pandemic birthday dinner for the first time. Delicious delicate seafood with a touch of heat was perfect. Special catfish of the day cooked to perfection, jambalaya was deliciously seasoned and handsomely garnished with proteins. Cajun prawns were cooked to a succulent juiciness. Oyster po boys were pleasantly juice and satisfying. Only problem is that hours later we are still feeling stuffed after lunch.... and that's the perfect type of problem to have.
I don't like other people cooking my steak... but the Jefferson rare, was amazing. It was possibly the best I have had.
The chicken and sausage gumbo is amazing and so are the Shrimp Po Boys! And if you want a super fantastic dessert try the deep fried cheesecake! It's a taste of Heaven
The service is exceptional; the food was very good.
Great food good service!
Great atmosphere, fabulous food and always packed!!
It's Friday Funday folks! In continuing my mission to support local, I checked out @cajunhousestalbert in St. Albert. The space looked wonderful (I'll check it out again when it opens for dining in). My pecan crusted chicken with tasty rice, veggies, bourbon sauce and more was tasty Love me some southern soul food and this hit the spot :)
Best food
I've had better quality food for the price. The service is spectacular and the atmosphere is inviting.
Amazing food!! Would recommend the chicken jackson, also service was good a great experience!!! Will be back
Great restaurant. The Cajun food is excellent. Service was great. Excellent atmosphere. I have overlooked this restaurant for so long. Should have come here much sooner. Even after having been to New Orleans so many times as my son was attending LSU.
Steak was excellent
We come here frequently and love everything about this place. Very good service and menu. Reminds me of Louisiana Purchase in Edmonton. We have friends that make the drive from there because it’s worth it. Amazing food!
Food and Service always great. A blessing to have in St. Albert
Was here a couple years ago and it was fantastic a great place to come for dinner with our family from out of town and still accommodate my kids. Tonight my 11yo ordered an entree salad removing everything except for the spinach and dressing then added chicken to the order and it was brought out with green onions and red pepper chunks and then they charged us $3 to get Parmesan cheese to cover it up instead of sending the entire dish back. We won't be coming back ever it's unfortunate we drove from South Edmonton. Wait staff are professional and courteous. Scenery is pleasant. If you don't have allergies or require modifications to menu items it might be good.
Great atmosphere. Kids welcome it seems. Not a bad experience yet
Everything was mediocre. Went out for our anniversary dinner and our first time at this restaurant.
Good food with relaxed atmosphere.
The food was very tasty staff was extremely polite and helpful. I had a small issue with my steak and it was rectified immediately. Great place to eat and I will be returning soon!!!
Usually a good place to dine. Closes early.
Awesome meal and service...
Poor version of cajaun food. canadian version
We had a special dinner there last night..groups of 6 and 4. The food and service was top notch. Food was so delicious and attractively presented. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. We highly recommend this dining place. Can’t wait to return.
Very nice evening and great food
Great food. Ridiculously expensive prices. $3 for parmesan on a salad is absurd.
Great food every time. Hate to rate it 5 stars as I want to keep this place all to myself.
Enjoyed it when we went at Christmas but very disappointed when we returned in May. Food was sub par at best.
Always wonderful...from food to service. A must try.
A very popular family restaurant. A lot of positive energy.
Ordered the Louisiana Jambalaya. Very large portion and not too spicy. Great. We were a large group of 10 and the service was very quick. We'd definitely return.
Went today, the waitress was very sweet, the restaurant was almost empty which made us feel comfortable. I had the jambalaya combined plate, the food was absolutely good and large portion. The decor is nice and the lighting makes it cozy. Price is fair for the amount of food. Loved it and will come back!
One of my favorite St Albert dinning spots Good variety of dishes loaded with flavor Great sevice and food Enjoy
Always enjoy the ambiance, food was great
Always great food and great service.
Wonderful service. Menu was varied and enjoyed by all. Would definitely go back!
Food was excellent. Very friendly service. No rush atmosphere.
Great food, but a little bland for my liking
So many jambalayas!
It's not even a house
Experienced some different cuisine and enjoyed it, have been back several times with friends
First time there. Great experience, prompt service, good food.
It was tasty. Good selection for gluten free.
great portions and service
Good food, nice place to eat
Great food and service! The warmed cheesecake in phylo was super Yum!
Love Cajun and this restaurant is one of my favourites in the city.
I was less than impressed the rest room was realy dirty bar like dirty. one meal was over cooked, one was absolutely flavor less. The appetizers were okay the service was good. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a exceptional meal.
Great food awesome service.
Great choice. Support local businesses
The atmosphere was great, server was amazing and the food was incredible. Would (and do) recommend to anyone and everyone.
Nice atmosphere, very cozy. Service was good and quick. Our meals were a decent size and very tasty. Tried potato skins as an appetizer (good size, dip tasty), and meals were gumbo, combination plate, and shrimp and scallop brochette (yum!) . We'd definitely go back!
Delicious, excellent service and value.
Honestly, one of the best steaks I've ate. Service was outstanding, professional.
Great food.. great 0staff
The prices are a little expensive but the food is awesome.
Great place to go to have something a little different from normal. Great and friendly staff and amazing food. Everything there is delicious and good drinks to. For sure a MUST go to. Great to go if you have a large group as the staff takes care of everyone. And the price isn't too bad either.
Very good
Food was not good at all and service was not great especially considering it wasn't busy.
Best Seafood Gumbo!
Big portions, busy and loud, great service. Food was just okay.
Quite enjoyable with many classic Cajun dishes that are well presented in a comfortable atmosphere. Worth checking out
Awesome as usual
Not as good as I was expecting... We went there off of a recommendation and after going online and looking at the reviews & menu we were sold. The oysters tasted old, the crab cakes too. The po-boy tasted was overly littered with sprouts that gave it a heavy peaty taste which we didnt like. The drinks were pretty good though, and our server was very nice! The atmosphere wasn't overly done or gaudy, it was minimalist. Not overly impressed, undecided if we're going to return for a redemption round. Louisiana purchase was better as far as cajun goes, and actually, dadeos is still greater Edmontons best place for Louisiana style cooking. Sorry.
Fantastic night of excellent food. If you haven't been here yet, don't miss out.
Amazing gumbos
Absolutely the best food in St. Albert.
Great happy hour
Awesome place Recommended for couples and a romantic dinner
5 stars simply not enough to rate this restaurant, the food is never a disappointment no matter what is ordered and their specialty menus like the Harvest one recently offered makes it very hard to decide on which dish to order. The staff are very professional and friendly it's always a pleasure to feel so welcome when you arrive.
My meal was very nice although my service was quite slow for a restaurant that was not busy. The server was very friendly. I will definitely give them another try.
Best Restaurant in St. Albert hands down!!
Awesome food, awesome service!
Great service. Pleasant experience
I really enjoyed my meal. I have been a few times, its always been good, i usually get fish because its good here, and good fish is hard to come by in Alberts. Service was propmt and attentive, the decore is interesting, it lookes wierd on the outside, but its quite nice on the inside, perhaps even upscale. Great place for a date or small gathering.
Amazing food. Amazing staff. The best sit down dining in St.Albert!
Awesome spot, hidden away. Worth the trip. Great food!!
Is good
I got food poisoning. I have spent the last three days throwing up an oyster po’boy and seafood gumbo. The only 5 star they get us from my husband who is thrilled beyond thrilled we are never going there again.
Dine in
Delicious, quality food. Atmosphere makes you feel like you're somewhere special. The decor isn't fancy, but the restaurant is intimate - not just some modern chain restaurant. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Good food but it takes a while for it to be prepared (This is mentioned on the menu). Kinda pricey but nice atmosphere.
Good Service..... Try the cheese cake dessert!
Good food good prices and great staff
Had crab cakes not bad
Five visits later and I still LOVE this place.
Delicious! Oysters, frog legs and chicken Jackson was amazing♡
Amazing! The food is nothing short of incredible and the service is just as good.
Excellent service, excellent food very good dining experience. Never had a (no pun intended) bad taste in my mouth from spending my money there.
Service
Best food in St. Albert.
The pecan chicken and steak Jefferson are great.
My favorite place to take my Mother in law who isn't always "keen" on trying new things but never a compliant from her about the Cajun House, they have something for even the picky eaters!
Good food good service.
One of my favorites spots in St Albert. Always consistently great food and service. I've been eating here for 20 years.
Great food, a real local treasure.
Our family's favourite restaurant. If you're wondering, you should undoubtedly eat here, get your life together, David.
Éxcellent food...mod priced...the alligator Boudin is delish..beware of a bit of a kick after you have eaten it!
Very good food and service
fantastic food excellent service. definite must try
The food was very good and the service was excellent. Highly recommend the BBQ Po-boy and the chicken and sausage gumbo. The ceasars are pretty great too!
First time going here in years, ordered shrimp soup, seafood gumbo & mussels to start. Then we were asked to move, because the video we had been watching on our phone was too loud apparently, as they moved us another server comments (without knowing what's going on) by rudely telling me I can't bring my drink with me as she blocked us off from our server so we couldn't continueto follow her... Next our soups show up, the film on top so thick you can lift it off with your finger, soup wasn't even luke warm, they also brought out the mussels, half cooked. When we asked about this we are told "That's how their supposed to be" We left after that, the peach drink I had was good but not worth the experience. Won't be going back.
Great food friendly STAFF, good prices dinner for 2 with drinks was only $ 74.00 stay away from drinks and a great dinner out for $50.00 can't be beat. Large selection of great Cajun cuisine.
Cajun House is awesome. I've never had a bad meal there...
Awesome food and service. A first visit from us and we will come back! Very happy !!
Awesome Cajun food lots of choices, this is where you come for quality food. With family or friends. Enjoy the atmosphere, stay for the food.
Awesome food, amazing portions, wonderful atmosphere, great prices, and delightful staff.
The Cajun House in St Albert has for many years been my favourite restaurant. The menu is varied, the food is always delicious and plentiful, and the service very good. Even when full it is always an enjoyable experience. I have never had a meal at the Cajun House that wasn't outstanding.
Fast, friendly and flavourful!
A great meal and friendly service
Great experience. Food was seasoned nicely. I will be back.
Dinner
Most authentic cajun food I've had in Canada, without a single doubt.
Always have a lovely meal here. Welcoming staff and nice atmosphere.
A favourite spot to go for lunch with the gals. I really enjoy the New Orleans Seafood Gumbo and the Spinach Peppered Pecan Salad. Nice atmosphere and great service. I've been to New Orleans for some great eats but no need to go that far, Cajun House St Albert, AB is just as good.
Great food, service was very good, the rice was just a little plain. Otherwise had a great dinner, would come again!
Best
We went here for our Anniversary yesterday and it was the worst restaurant food I have ever had. Everything was mushy and flavorless, the seafood tasted old and water logged. The entrees were about 40 dollars and I was very disappointed about the quality of food for the price. I have never went to a restaurant and felt like food was not edible until going there. I'm not sure if it is under new management as there are good reviews previously but I would not recommend going there.
Great service and great food. A wonderful atmosphere
Just like I expected, classic cajun, I order the same thing all the time, jambalaya. The deserts are fine, love bread pudding. Service is always A+, even when they close in half an hour! Wish they stayed open an extra hour, that's the only negative. Great place to bring out of town company.
Always a wonderful lunch or dinner spot. I had the pasta jambalaya the last couple times I've gone, but the spinach pecan salad and oyster po'boy are also favourites. The phyllo cheesecake is heavenly.
Great ser vice and food :)
The food was truly second to none, and the portion of flavourful, seafood-y rice in the seafood jambalaya was gigantic! The service was also highly professional, courteous and friendly!
The Cajun House makes the best jumbo ! Really miss the blackened Catfish :(
Great food
Great food, great service
Awesome food
We have been coming here for at least 28 years. Our most favourite restaurant ever. Food is delicious. Servers are so nice and friendly.
Breaded veal panne. With scallops to start. Fantastic.
Service, cooking and quality of food was amazing. Would highly recommend giving this place a try.
Good Food but parking is terrible
Excellent food, definitely worth going back
Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch in the newly refurbished surroundings. Good food. Great service.
Overall, I had a pretty good experience at The Cajun House this weekend. I've been here a couple of times before and the service has been consistent (in a positive way)! However, I wish I could say the same about the appetizers. The mussels and raw oysters were a bit underwhelming this time around. I remembered them being more plump and juicy during my last visit, which was why I decided to order them again. The mains were delicious though - loved the creamy sauces! We ordered the pasta jambalaya and the red snapper etouffee. The portion sizes were quite large, so I had leftovers, and my pasta jambalaya was still very tasty the following day. We also ordered the butter pecan pie for dessert. It wasn't as sweet as I would have liked it to be, so it would be good for those who prefer less sugary desserts.
Great dinner. Window table is the best. Very nice and helpful staff. Great location in downtown.
Came here for lunch with execs. Was a great time and great food! Had a beef po boy with salad and fries. Wasnt that hungry but shouldve had the Cajun House Combination Plate cause it looked delicious. Nobody finished their large portioned plate. ????????
Mussels: great mussels, properly cooked, then served in a lacking broth best described as dish water with wine. Alligator sausage: if alligators were made of bread. More filler than gator. Frog legs: again, the frog was well sourced, properly cooked, but another sauce disaster. Coconut shrimp: deep fried delish! The sauce was even palatable. The Cajun snapper was okay but smothered in the same sauce that drenched the frog legs.
Very good food, and service. Has Pinot Grigios that was outstanding. The sauce for the egg rolls (appetizers) was really tasty. I had the Cajun House mixed plate which was tasty, not as spicy as I expected, especially the red beans and sausage, but very tasty, and hotness was amped up with the hot sauce on the table. All in all a great meal in a lovely atmosphere.
Came for St. Albert's "Dig In" Dining week. Incredible 3 course meal. Had the roasted sweet potato soup, maple melt-in-your-mouth pork tenderloin and THE most amazing maple pumpkin cheesecake!! I mean A MA ZING! You can tell the owner/chef takes much pride in what he serves to his customers. First time tried this place, but will be back to see what they have on other days. Nice calm place to sit and talk. Great friendly service.
Great lunch soup and salad
By far mine and my families favourite place to eat at in St. Albert. The place is cozy, food delicious, and servers have been there for so long!
Amy served my small party and we had a lovely evening, will definitely be back!
Food was below par, server was not friendly. Very outdated and overpriced. Do not recommend.
Good service and great food!
Meal type
Had a dinner to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The food, drinks and service were superb as we have come to expect.
