I was so stoked about going to this restaurant, finally convinced my husband. I knew before hand that it was fast food seafood, but thought what the heck. It, in my opinion, was the equivalent to bad Chinese food found in a food court at an unpopulated mall, only difference was 2 appetizers and 2 meals came out to $70.00. One of the appetizers was way unnder cooked, and both were greasy. My husband didn't have seafood, but I did. It was beyond greasy and if I closed my eyes, it all tasted the same, grease. The vegetables were from frozen with no seasoning. The only thing that impressed me was the mashed potatoes, they weren't instant. Sorry Atlantic !kitchen, definatly won't be going back nor would I recommend.

Arrived with my family at 615, order placed at 630 (or shortly there after) appetizers arrived at 730 (wrong appetizers) . Meal about 5 minutes after. Fries were either in the fryer way to long (and arrived cold) or were barely browned and still raw. Fish was ok. Resturant was under half full. As a bonus got to watch the waitress eat in front of us while waiting for food. When complained got the two dollar difference off the incorrect appetizer.

Absolutely terrible service. Waited for 35 minutes to recieve an order because i am a food courier. Told them i would never eat there just because of that. and waitress said "oh thats fine ????" and smiled. please never order from here its not worth your time to get 1 meal. Oh yeah and the order i was waiting for was sitting in the back for how long. Thanks for reading this wacked review... ???????? You can hear the ocean! Staff are friendly, happy, and efficient. Food is spot on comparing to menus 5000km east. Portions are generous and it won't break the bank. If it sounds like we enjoyed our lunch... let me tell you I was looking for the 6 out of 5 star button. This place is perfect.... AND they carry a good supply of East Coast Grocery products not easily obtainable in Alberta.

Drove out from Devon for Jigs Dinner that we saw on Instagram. Tried to ask about it on Instagram. No response. They were out by 2 pm. But that's okay because we saw the 50% off fish 'n chips also online. But that was for Thursdays. But that's okay because take out was 10% off- wait- that is for family meals for 4 people. Will never be back. I was going to surprise my Newfoundland friend with a lunch for Monday. Very angry.

My wife and I go here approximately once a month. Just love the food. The whole atmosphere is great at this establishment. If your in to mood for fish & home fries, you will be hard pressed to find anything as good as this place. I also get some of my Newfoundland favorite snacks here as well. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

What a great spot! Without a doubt, best fish n' chips in the Edmonton area... dressing and gravy is a must have as well! Service was very friendly, and you can get all the goodies you can only find in Newfoundland - Pineapple Crush, Birch Beer, Cold Plates, Caramel Logs, you name it. Hands down, new favourite spot.

Very nice atmosphere and decor. Excellent fish, particularly the halibut. Fries are very good. Coleslaw is finely chopped with a hint of what tastes like horse radish, making it very good. My new fish restaurant. Also other fare that is not seafood but rather uniquely and quirkly atlantic Canada creations. Good service and clean restaurant. Well recommended.

We went for a take out order of fish and chips. Friendly waitress and reasonable wait time but the meal was very disappointing. We'd heard good things about A K , unfortunately on this visit, our first, the experience wasn't great. The fish was small in size and appeared to be pre- formed, the chips were small and soggy, and even the coleslaw was more runny than crunchy.. Very sorry to be negative about the place, but we were at Brits today for the same meal and the difference was like night and day, for basically the same price.

I went here on 12/1/2019. Staff was friendly. The fish and chips (Atlantic cod) I ordered were crispy and soft, and the fries were great. The dish was a little oily though, but overall, great experience.

This place definitely needs help!!! After ordering we waited an hour for food before deciding to just leave. Our server came once when we got there and got us our drinks, we never seen her again. Looking around the half full restaurant I started to notice that I wasn't the only one waiting patiently for food. I figured I'd at least pay for the drink before we left, our food was there waiting to come out and already look cold I asked the staff what the hold up was and they said the cook sucks. Sorry but this is definitely a 1 star restaurant!!!

Went there with friends for birthday supper. They warned that it was fairly new place and still getting the kinks out - might be slower than expected. It did take a little time to get our food but to be fair, we arrived about the same time as several other tables. Didn't have to wait for a table - one opened up right when we got there. Little bit of a wait was worth it - fish and chips were great! Cod little moister than the halibut. Both agreed it was the best fish and chips we had had since visiting Ches's in St. John's, Newfoundland. Will definitely be back!!!

Loved this place, I ate the clam chowder and my family had fish and chips. Everything was very tasty, service was fast, and the waitress (I forget her name, sorry) was super personable and even started joking around with my family. Tried the St.Albert location, and I must say for a place that specializes in fish and chips there was much to be desired - the chips/fries had a weird dry texture to them and were not enjoyable at all, I also had the cod which was tasteless and the batter was completely soggy when it arrived at the table. My wife had the haddock which had a nicer crispier batter but the fish also fell flat on taste. There are much better choices out there for fish and chips and I would personally not recommend this place.

Not an eastern Canada food fan but love a great fish and chips which brought us to this place. It was OK with great service. I guess I don't like cod much. Also the cod was heavily fried to a dark golden color which usually means that the oil may need changing very soon. All and all may take my wife there to get her opinion.

I always have the platter, cod, shrimp and scallops. The veggies are so tasty and the mashed potatoes are real potatoes not the packet mash. Staff are always so friendly. I'm from England and can appreciate good battered fish and this is the best place in edmonton in my opinion.

I was excited to try out the fish and chips here, but the food fell short of adequate - I kept thinking this is fish and chips my expectations weren't that high to begin with and you eclipsed them over a cliff. Great food and fantastic service. I was introduced to Atlantic Kitchen by some Newfie friends and this is now one of my favorite spots. Fries, Dressing and Gravy is my Go To dish and I always enjoy trying new items on their menu. Servers have always been friendly and helpful. I am one of those customers that have way too many questions :/ For me, it's a comfort style restaurant. Come in, take your time and just enjoy the experience.

My boyfriend and I went here and we love it. It was a full house with only 2 servers and they smashed it. Food was delicious, and the service was some of the best I've had in a long time. It's a very cozy environment, and they have old school treats and food for sale. Even cute little trinkets, all with that very Atlantic feeling! Hands down, some of the best fish and chips we've ever had. People may complain about food wait times, but home cooked food takes longer then frozen. In a full house, we expected to wait 30 minutes at least for our food, and that's how long it took. Totally acceptable when everything doesn't come in a bag or out of a can. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

We had take out from Atlantic Kitchen last Thursday and as other fish shops the food is a little pricey but it was pretty good over all. We phoned the order in and the lady who took our order was helpful and had the food ready as were were told. The best way to eat this food is in restaurant as it does not cool down. The quantities were good and the fish pieces while not large were a reasonable size. I did forget to ask for malt vinegar and was not asked so that is a must for the next visit. The Atlantic Kitchen is worth visiting for sure!

Experienced a terrific meal here just last night. My husband had the seafood platter and said it was fantastic, shrimp being the most tender he has ever had and the hand made fries he said were delicious. I am not a seafood eater so opted for their french dip. The only reason I couldn't give them five stars is because the au jus was very very salty and I didn't use much and the caesar salad was pretty strong garlic wise. The beef in the sandwich was thick and delicious and the bread was fresh. Lineup was out the door as we were leaving and that is always a good sign. Service was also outstanding, they have some really good staff attentive and polite, another rare occurrence these days. We will be going back probably many times. ????????????????????

I am not a huge fan of fish and don’t eat it to often. But the fish from this place changed my mind. Although the fish is Fantastic, the fries are on the weak side. They taste old and heated up, despite this, the staff were great. We told them we didn’t care for the fries and they took of one of the meals on the bill. First time I had fish and chips from here and very disappointing. Fish was small and looked like a processed battered fish not fresh. Chips were overcooked, old and dry. I am from England and this is no where near the same quality as you would get there. Chips should be light and fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. Batter should be light and golden and fish should be a lot bigger and flakey inside. I won't be ordering from here again.

The staff is delightful and helpful. If you drive a car you probably should use the back entry to avoid bottoming out on the ice. That is the one lost star...

I suppose it is unfair to give a one star review off of a disappointing soup alone. The service was standard and the other people I was with had no complaints. Clam chowder is my favourite soup so if the recipe is ever changed I would like to come back and try it. I will hold that the Clam chowder tasted like a water gravy mixed with canned vegetable soup. Clam chowder to me is creamy and buttery. And should also have butter style crackers at least to go with it. And there was not very many clams. And the bacon looked like the dried bacon bits. Perhaps they were real, they just weren't appetising.

Had family from out if town so we tried the Atlantic Kitchen and the food was pretty good but the cook burnt everyone's fries. When we asked they said that's the way they r made. All other tables that ordered were not like this. No discount no apologies, they just expect u to eat this. Needles to say no one at the table ate any of the fries.

The Good: The fish and chips were good; not too greasy. The coleslaw was good as well. The Bad: I was so looking forward to a hot turkey sandwich (they can't be found elsewhere in St. Albert) but my expectations were too high. I was comparing it to that of an Irving Big Stop. The turkey had a funny taste to it. It was a mix of dark and white meat. The fries were tasteless, and last but not least, the vegetables that came with it were totally GROSS. They were dry, old , tasteless and were frozen prior. They tried to spruce them up by adding spice on it but YUCK! I mentioned it to the server and she said, "Oh OK I'll let them know back there." Nothing more said- no compensation or apology. Furthermore the kids meals are expensive-about $7 for fries and hot dog plus 2.50 for a drink which makes for nearly $10/kid. Finally the service was quick but we got there at 4:30 pm on a Wednesday. The server's attitude was just OK. Personally the Keg is the only restaurant that warrants my hard earned cash. They correct and compensate errors plus they are very friendly not to mention the food is delectable. It's too bad- I was born and bred on the east coast and couldn't wait to enjoy the food there with my family. I likely will spend my cash elsewhere. ????

Definitely will not be returning. Single Mom with two kids had poor service waitress forgot my drink, had to ask for cream and a spoon waited over a hour with no soup. My son spilt his drink asked for napkins in which I didn't receive. A great taste of Canadian Maritime cuisine. The food was spectacular and the restaurant was extremely busy.i suspect they were understaffed as the service was slow. Due to the number of patrons, parking was also a challenge. Even with all the challenges I would still recommend this place. I have no idea what the people that posted negative reviews experienced. This place serves homemade soup, pies, burgers, fries and battered fish. Everything is made from scratch. Had clam chowder, liver and onions with fries, cheese burger with fries and Blueberry pie for dessert . The food was excellent and there was lots of it. By St. Albert standards the prices are pretty reasonable. They have gluten friendly options, a wide menu selection, including old favourites like liver and onions as well as Bologna steak. They serve breakfast till noon and have a seniors price/size for those over 60. Service was east coast friendly and they have a neat gift shop with east coast hard to get food and knick knacks. Definitely coming back here.

AMAZING! The service was A+. The food was incredible. We both ordered Haddock and chips, with a beer. ( I only add that because we were not sure if they serve beer...they do in a frosty mug) The food was soooo good. It was a huge portion. I read someone saying it was small? They are crazy. I ordered a two piece and between the massive pile of fresh cut fries and the two huge pieces, I could not finish it. Crispy, fresh and delicious. Best fish and chips I have had since I moved from Victoria. Delicious. Will be a regular.

Absolute disappointment Walked in, seated ourselves and waited to be acknowledged. I had time to go to the washroom, return and sat and watch the server walk by several times. She cleaned two tables adjacent to where we were, still no acknowledgment. Even the woman at the counter looked at us and still we had no server come by. As much as we were looking forward to some down east style fish and chips, we weren't willing to wait more than we had. A simple "Hello" would have negated this review. I had very high expectations as this place was recommended by an east coaster (Newfie). I spent close to 30 dollars on a 3 piece fish and chips (cod). The quality of the fish was okay but the batter was soggy and the fish was very oily-as an experienced cook will tell you, the oil needs to be hot to avoid soaking into the food. The pieces if fish were on the smaller side too-Brits and Winston's both serve bigger fillets at similar prices. The fries had potential but they were cold, soggy, and oily . Fryer needs to be hotter and the oil could be changed more frequently. Staff were friendly enough and the service was ok but I can't justify giving more than one star as fish and chips is supposed to be their specialty. Save yourselves the trip to st Albert and head to Brits or Winston's in Edmonton instead.

When you see a Newfie flag sticker outside you know you gotta try it. Went there a few weeks ago and ordered mussles, clam strips, crab bites, fish and chips and their seafood platter. As you went in you could choose your seating, and service was very prompt for only having the one person there. As the time passes they were completely full, and 3 servers were very friendly and great. Their food is on point and I have absolutely no complaints. The food was so good that people sat at dirty tables as others left just to get a taste. Newfies your going to want to go there and get your birch beer, crush cream soda and of course pinapple crush. Non-newfies you'll still love it. Great job guys!

Wow! It was quite terrible really. It wasn't a busy day there and yet the service was so awful. Servers were not interested in the customers needs at all. The food was ok at best, and the seating planning is a huge waste of resources due to their seating policy thereby leaving people waiting in line instead of leveraging their assets. The waitresses were great (hence two stars) but the food is far too slow coming out of the kitchen. My wife and I waited for two hours because we heard that the food was so good. As it turns out the food isn't better than the fish and chips at the pub up the street.

Terrible. I heard from a few people that this was a great place for Fish & Chips, so as a huge Seafood lover me and boyfriend decided to try it out with fairly high expectations. First, we waited 45 minutes at least for our food. Which was annoying but still they were fairly busy so I let it pass. However, once the food arrived I was severely disappointed. The Halibut I ordered was very dry, and I absolutely LOVE Halibut, I didnt even bother to have the waitress pack up my second piece. Everything was luke-warm, and the "Pan Fried Salmon" that my boyfriend ordered was covered in a tasteless batter, and EXTREMELY overcooked. It really was terrible. So dry we could hardly swallow it. When we mentioned this to our waitress she brought him another piece, which took an additional 15 minutes. This piece looked less cooked but was equally as dry and equally as tasteless. One bite each was all we could stand. Honestly I have had MUCH better Fish & Chips. Will not be coming here again.

The pea soup was one of the best just like homemade.the fish and chips were very tasty and very large portions.the severing personal were very curtious and polite came to table 2 0r 3 times to ask how our meal was .will be back again

I liked it well enough, is very similar to Joey's seafood. Apparently their fish and chips are to die for. I ordered an appetizer mussels a meal. Everything was very typical of a fish and chips restaurant. I wouldn't stand in line to go to the place. But they are always packed so they do offer something!

Ate here once halibut was disgusting 2 tiny pieces way overpriced. Fish was very very oily, fries were cold. I got sick after eating here, never again what a waste of money. I will stick to Brits fish and chips near argyll rd, big pieces of halibut cooked right and delicious. When I told owner about her small pieces of halibut and the cost of it compared to Brits she didnt know what to say. Atlantic kitchen is a total Rip off for what they charge, and very oily too .

Yummy, PEI mussels, and the Atlantic Cod were both amazing. I even picked up some blueberry coffee to make at home and it was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The clam chowder was very good. The fries and coleslaw were good, but it ends there! Being a west coast Celiac, I was excited to see a seafood restaurant that offered gluten free options. However the product they presented should not have been offered to anyone. The shrimp, scallops and cod were terribly overcooked. Also the cod did not taste fresh at all. None of these factors are affected by preparing it gluten free. I will not return!
