Had a family dinner on Friday of the August long weekend. Food superb, service was professional and attentive, and the evening, all in all, was wonderful! I highly recommend it for that special celebration or just a great dining experience....
Everything was lovely! We had drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert. All were presented beautifully and tasted excellent. Lots of great options on their menu for dinner and I've heard their brunch is awesome too. The service was warm and attentive, and the restaurant itself is a great space.
Great food, with excellent service. It was a quiet evening, and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
Food & staff was excellent. A very first class establishment. Our server Susan was very professional and friendly. Dan, the chef there is such a kind and good hearted guy and you can tell by the quality of dishes that come out. We will definitely be back again!
Was there for a special event. Food was amazing, serice was great, staff were very professional. Chef is very proud of his creations. Great place overall.
Absolutely the most amazing restaurant in the city. My boyfriend and myself love to come here for date nights at least once a month. The staff are all super friendly and nothing short of amazing. The food is absolutely to die for. Share the charcuterie board for a nice snack or my personal favourite is the tenderloin. I am very picky about the way my food is cooked anywhere I go but I am never ever dissapointed when I come to Riverbank Bistro.
Love this place. Chef Dan and his team don't miss a detail. The place is spotless. The food is excellent and the service is attentive and friendly. I thought I hated duck. Not anymore. I was shocked in how delicious it was. I've been there several times with my wife and adult kids. Everyone agrees it's 5 star, 10/10. Our new No.1 in St. Albert. We love EXCELLENCE.
This place has topnotch food and treats you great. One of the best restaurants in town.
Great place for an excellent dinning experience. Great menu and great service.
Absolutely divine! I was honoured to enjoy a beautiful four course dinner on New Years Eve that was done to perfection. Great service, flavour, and presentation! Will be back for more! Please add the mushroom aracini to the menu!
Great little restaurant with seasonal menu's.
Just ate here last weekend with a business partner and we were both impressed with the food and staff
Exceptional! From the open table availability, the parking, the ambiance, the greeting, the service, the choices, the amazing food and outstanding service. Everything about our experience was exceptional. I would highly recommend Riverbank bistro whether you are on a date night or having a family gathering. St. Albert has a gem! The dishes were prepared from scratch and the TLC was noted. Thank you Daniel Ducharme (Exec chef & Owner) and to Danielle, our excellent server. We will be back!
Food was delicious and the staff were very accommodating. Portions weren't huge for the price, however the quality of the meals were outstanding.
Thank you. Had an awesome birthday dinner :) they also have alcohol free beer for those who don't drink alcohol :)
There was a great deal of uncertainty as to how the families of our 2020 grade 12 graduates were going to celebrate given the cancellation of all graduation ceremonies and receptions (COVID-19). Eight families decided to pull together to celebrate our daughters' achievements which was inclusive of a nice, formal dinner. We chose Riverbank Bistro - arguably the best location in St. Albert for view, ambiance, class, friendly/responsive service, and affordability. Daniel Ducharme, Owner/Master Chef and his entire team were AMAZING to work with. He booked off one side of his restaurant to accommodate our group of 27, adhering to all the safety distancing regulations. Our graduates felt comfortable to get up throughout the course of the evening and mingle with all the families in attendance. Daniel created a menu specifically for our group that accommodated all food sensitivities as well as provided options that would appeal to everyone. In addition to the food being fantastic, his team was organized and worked with us through every detail of our program to ensure the timing of everything was perfect. Our girls got to wear their dresses and have their day - the amazing 3- course meal added the final touch. The graduates were very emotional and overwhelmed by the day - there were a lot of tears and hugs in the restaurant. Thank you, Riverbank Bistro, for helping us to celebrate these young adults in style! We couldn't have done this without you. Mission accomplished!
Fantastic place! Food is excellent, staff is quick and knowledgeable. I had the short rib and the chicken - highly recommend both.
Our experience was lovely and the food was amazing! Went for my boyfriends 32nd birthday. The cocktails were also very good. To start we had the short rub croquettes and avocado bruschetta. I had the vegetarian wellington (im not a vegetarian but it was so amazing), my boyfriend had the rack of lamb which was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. My mother had the artic char which was like butter and full of flavor and my father had the chicken supreme and Ceasars salad. For desert we had the creme Brule and it was delicious. Everything was so well cooked and full of flavor. Will for sure be coming back for more special occasions. Love supporting a local business.
Absolutely wonderful food and great service. One of the best restaurants in the greater Edmonton area.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Duck confit was divine and could be a small entree in itself... But then you wouldn't have ordered the short rib which was tender and savoury. The mash potato base was a nice touch. No room for dessert this time, but I'll be back for more.
Amazing dinner and excellent service!! 10/10 would recommend. The beef tenderloin was absolutely perfect.
Went for a wedding... food was unbelievable!
Love the atmosphere at Riverbank Bistro. The food was amazing and the service was excellent!
Great service and great food. I had the lamb while my wife had the bison. We had some questions because my wife doesn't like coffee and the bison has a coffee rub. Had it clarified and it was delicious.
Food was amazing & service was great. I really enjoyed the Bison Carpaccio & Caesar Salad. It was nice to have the chef/owner very involved with the customers and interacting with all of us to make sure everything was top notch.
Another great meal at the Riverbank Bistro. The beef tenderloin is was amazing. My husband described last night's feature Beef Wellington as extraordinary. Service is always excellent! We will be back soon!
Always an amazing experience. Great wine list, love the menu, and the service is professional. A favourite spot for sure!
I have eaten here several times ....each time time has been fabulous!!!! Last time i ordered something new the Aranchini Balls OMG there were delicious!!
Everything was amazing! The restaurant itself is beautiful. Service was great and the food was delicious ????????
One of my favourite restaurants in St.Albert! Everything i've tried here has been amazing. I can't wait to return in-person.
Location and ambience are stunning. Food can be better but depends on which cuisine you prefer
I just picked up dinner from here and it was fantastic. Everything. Delicious. Couldn’t be happier.
I love riverbank, whenever I'm looking for some high quality well prepared meals and a great atmosphere this is our go to place for a night out. The staff and chefs are all fantastic and I've never had a bad experience! Easily 5 stars
Tasty dinner of short ribs and steak for our date night, Saturday night!✅
Food was incredible !!!! Lots of flavors tender salmon and a duck leg with the meat falling off the bone !!!!!! If you never been there, bring your love or date for a fantastic night by the river !
I recently went last weekend for breakfast and yes the food was good. They know they have good food and they charge you what it's worth. My main complaint was the lamb sausage- the waitress affirmed there was no pork in it but several bathroom visits later I found of course that wasn't true. It's not my first experience with a waitress lying but I often wonder what they get out of lying to customers. My only consolation was the restaurant was almost empty. Maybe people know already but for those that don't, beware!
Chicken pasta was amazing!!! Huge portion was hard not to eat every bite. Definitely recommend. Great service. Will be back to try something else.
Beautiful building. The avocado bruschetta was delicious!!
Chef Dan makes amazing meal! You wont be disappointed! Highly recommended if you are in St. Albert
Nice and cozy, delicious food, great drinks. Fantastic.
Really classy place, perfect for a Sunday brunch. Their eggs Benedict with duck would not let you down
Great food and nice atmosphere! Prices are reasonable for high end meal. Chef came out at end of meal to thank us for coming.
Food was exceptional.
We picked this place for our anniversary. Such a beautiful place! Great atmosphere. Food was delicious. I wish we discovered this place sooner ! The waitress was great too.
Very nice little place. I would suggest a reservation since seating is limited. Restaurant was clean, the service was fantastic and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend the creme brulee as a dessert, it was delicious!
Honestly, the mushroom soup & tenderloin is my favourite meal at any restaurant. The staff is incredible; they offer top notch service and the entire experience is just top notch. Dan is an incredible chef and business owner. Highly recommend!
You can tell the team love what they do - the food is so delicious. If you were to give most folks the 'ingredients' we couldn't replicate what the team does in our kitchens at home. This is the kind of place where it feels like the people behind the scenes are into cooking as a life purpose vs "just another pay cheque" feeling you get at so many restaurants. That's the kind of experience I love to pay money for when I dine out and Riverbank Bistro provides it in spades.
Excellent food and service! Will be coming back soon!
In my opinion this is the nicest restaurants in St Albert. The food is amazing and the food actually comes out hot...not just warm. The staff seems to be long term and knowledgable. Definitely recommended.
We had a wonderful brunch at Riverbank Bistro today. The restaurant is pretty and modern feeling. I love the decor. And the food is fabulous. I had the mushroom and spinach eggs benedict with truffle oil. It was so delicious and luxurious. My fiancé had the traditional eggs benedict and loved it as well. We both raved about the hashbrowns potatoes! They are seasoned nicely, and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Our dishes each came with a fruit skewer as well. We were both very impressed and have been checking the dinner menu for our next visit!
I just can't say enough about this place! i have been to this restaurant many times and i have always had excellent food and service.
The Cauliflower starter was very flavourful, and the Lamb Shank and Ribeye were great. The wine was ok, not a lot of selection if you want an upper end wine.
This is a must go to restaurant in St. Albert. We went tonight for the first time and I have to say it won't be the last! Everything we had was fantastic, the dishes are all very thoughtfully composed and everything on the plates made complete sense. We had crispy cauliflower and celery bisque to start, the char and short rib for mains and shared the wild berry crisp for dessert (best crisp I have ever had). The old fashions are wonderful and the wine prices are very reasonable. Service was excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant.
We have a wonderful dinner last night. Everyone was very happy with their choices (salmon, chicken, tenderloin, beef short rib). As wonderful as the food was, our server was even better. An excellent evening.
Food was great but the Male waiter we had seemed like he was basically brand new to the industry. I asked him what type of craft beers they had and he didn't even know what I was talking about. He offered a Guinness and I had to explain what it was. One of my party people asked for a wine bucket for the white wine. He brought over a little bowl of ice for the wine bottle. Had to ask again about the wine bucket then he actually brought it over. Plus I didn't see much of sanitation going on either after customers have left. The group i was in split the bill and the waiter didn't sanitize the debit machine after each use until we told him. I don't think I will be back again
Celebrate my birthday by having dinner at the Riverbank Bistro. The atmosphere is soothing and welcoming to all. Gives you that sense that you expect is what you will get. The food was nothing but exquisitely designed to make sure that every bite is a reminder of the work and dedication the chef and his team put into every meal one to talk about and another reason to always come and dine. For the cost its worth every dollar spent. Will definitely be back.
I finally came for dinner and I'm soooo happy I did! Sunday night Prime Rib. Delish! Finish with creme brulee and a mocha latte. Everything was amazing, and the pickled cabbage (I think that's what it was) was PERFECT with the prime rib!! I'll be back!
Excellent service & great cook but too expensive for the size of chicken & salmon.
Excellent meal...appiterzier and steak with goal cheese was amazing
Fantastic place, I don't think there is a better dollar-for-dollar quality of meal out there. I feel service could use a slight improvement as it doesn't seem to match the high level plating and presentation of the entrees.
Quality food, service was excellent. Will definitely return.
Excellent food and the prices are amazing for being 5 star dining. 6 people, entrees, starters, a few drinks each... around 300.00. The head chef who I assume is the owner comes out and says hi to you, I have been there once before back in November and he remembered me and where I even sat. Highly recommend this place.
My girlfriend and I decided to order the RBB Burger and Fries for take out. The best burger and fries we’ve ever had!... EVER! Definitely try this burger. You will not be disappointed.
An anniversary to be remembered with a true culinary experience. The duck breast was cooked perfectly, flavourful, moist with crispy skin. The roasted cauliflower was lightly seasoned, alongside reduced sweet but savoury cherries. Put them all together: a perfect concoction of flavour. Eye rolling good. Compliments to the chef and the wonderful serve staff. See you again soon!
Very cozy environment. Asked for confirmation of vaccination and it helped to make us feel safe. Of course the food was AMAZING! Photos show the Haddock on a really tasty broth as well as of course... creme brulle. HIGHLY Recommended... but it doesn't allow me to give it more than 5 stars.
Comfortable restaurant atmosphere ???? Food preparation and taste first class.
Another wonderful experience! This place never ceases to amaze me and my wife.
Food and service were excellent. We will be back.
Great food, nice atmosphere and good service.
I wish they have more food options but our experience was great!
You wouldn't believe how hospitable the staff and owner are. Beyond excellent. Had our wedding there this week and they were nothing but the best. Food was 10/10. Prices are great, the general look of the building are outstanding. Would recommend to anyone even for a small meal or drink. Truly amazing.
What a fantastic evening! The ambience, service and food were all outstanding. Between the 4 of us, we shared 3 appetizers, 4 entrees and 2 desserts. The bison carpaccio was our favorite appetizer (although the tuna nicoise and crispy cauliflower were tough to beat!), each of us liked our own entrees the best (salmon fillet, chicken supreme, sturgeon fillet and beef tenderloin), and we split preference on desserts between the wildberry crisp and creme brulee. All in all a wonderful experience. Can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu!
Small menus but every bite was delicious
Great food and atmosphere. The staff was excellent. Will be back for sure.
Excellent food as usual!
What a fantastic place. My wife had gone with a friend for the Sunday menu before and recommended going there tonight for our night out. I am so glad she did. The food was fantastic. Probably the best caesar salad I have ever eaten. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, was not too fatty, nor was it over salted like so many other places. My only complaint is that we didnt have room for desert. We will definitely be back and I will certainly be recommending this restaurant to others. Great work. Thank you.
It's the place to go for Sunday brunch. Menu is simple but has enough variety to satisfy everyone. The food is consistently delicious, well prepared and beautiful. The benny is amazing but I love the steak with Cajun butter. You won't …
Excellent food good service. My wife and I along with two friends from out of town truly enjoyed the food and quiet comfortable surroundings.
A must eat at St. Albert gem! One of my favourite restaurants! The staff always go above and beyond and the food is always excellent!
This place is a St. Albert gem. A modern, comfortable atmosphere with excellent service. You can tell the menu has been carefully curated - the dishes and their accompaniments consist of familiar favourites, each with a unique nuance. The Forest Mushroom soup is a must, it is perfection in its flavour and heartiness. The 10oz Ribeye was cooked beautifully to order, it’s tenderness and flavour nicely enhanced by the Port Demi. Save room for dessert, as the Key Lime pie is out of this world - it’s silky tartness and coconut-graham crust are amazing!
Dan & his team provided the absolute best food and service for our staff Christmas party last night. The steaks were scrumptious. The vegetarian option, Mushroom Wellington, was so delicious. And the desserts were decadent. Thank you so much RiverBank Bistro for the best dining experience in the Edmonton and St Albert area!
Wonderful food! Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The flavors were completely on point as well. The service was impeccable. I highly recommend this quaint little place for any occasion.
My wife and I recently attended the Sunday Feature Dinner. In all respects we experienced excellent service and a fantastic meal. My only 'complaint', seeing this is Alberta Beef Country, I was served two, almost paper-thin slices of prime rib, medium rare; while my wife was served two "thick" slices, medium well. Hers was at least double the thickness of my repast. I hope, should we return, that I'll be served with a 'slab' of medium rare prime rib; and not a couple of thin slices that I could cut with my fork
Our family came here for my moms 60th birthday. She is celiac and when we called ahead to confirm they could accommodate her dietary needs, the were kind, understanding and compassionate. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the service was phenomenal. I highly recommend the ancho chicken pasta!
Today was my second time enjoying brunch at Riverbank Bistro. When I came in November 2021, I was really looking forward to trying their wild-berry waffles, but was told they were sold out, even though I arrived an hour after they had opened for the day. Today, I finally got to order my waffles and they were phenomenal! They had a delightful crunchy sugar coating and were topped with blueberries and cherries in syrup, as well as two generous heaps of whipped cream. My boyfriend had the R.B. breakfast bowl with a side of lamb sausage. The flavours in the breakfast bowl were wonderful together - salty, tangy, with a hint of sweetness. We were really satisfied with the food at Riverbank Bistro.
When we went, the sign was not easy to see from the outside. Instead, the sign was for a beauty place. To enter, we used the main front entrance, then entered left through the door in the picture. The food was great, but we did not appreciate the admission from a staff member that the food was/is pre-prepared, somewhat, when they experience rushes. I know that this is a normal protocol in many, many high caliber restaurants, but it was a bit extra, and oddly timed. I had the duck.
Excellent service, we ate off the Valentine's day menu and it did not disappoint my steak was perfect , and my wife's arctic char looked very appealing even to me not being an eater of fish my wife just loved her meal
Great menu, the food is always something special and the atmosphere in the lounge is awesome.
Wife and I checked out the Riverbank Bistro last night. The food and service were excellent! We will be going back again.
Great experience, excellent food and attentive service. We will be back to try the regular menu items shortly!
Great little restaurant. Very quaint & nice menu selection . Decent prices, large portions and the chocolate flourless cake is to die for. Our server was Katie and she was awesome. Will definitely be back
Best mushroom soup ever! I had my Christmas party there this year. I had the Veggie Wellington and it was amazing! Every meal I have had here is awesome, and the service is wonderful!
My husband and I were first drawn to Riverbank Bistro for their waffles and they were fabulous. So much so that we go almost every Sunday for brunch. The girls know our orders, everyone is super friendly, the coffee is great and the owner even took the time last Sunday to say thank you to us for our patronage. Very lovely spot to have Sunday brunch.
Absolutely amazing food! We have been three times and have tried different foods each time- the quality and tastiness of the food is outstanding!! Best restaurant for our date nights! The staff are incredibly friendly and the chief is very personable too! This is a must try this restaurant!
Had a flavourful dinner here....the crispy duck and braised beef were my favourites!
Great food and great service! Will definitely go back again!
Excellent meal, Sturgeon Fillet, Chicken Fusili and Lamb Shank were all delicious and very well presented. Service (James) was great. A very nice addition to St Albert! Will be going back soon.
We have been coming here since Willi owned it. Dan and his wife have made it even better. Best restaurant in Western Canada. If not all of Canada. As usual, our salmon and rack of lamb were superb. We rarely drive into Edmonton for a special occasion dinner. Why would we when the best is in St. Albert?
What a frustrating experience. The waitress did her best under unfortunate circumstances..... But it was far from enough to satisfy how grossly slow the service was. It was so aggravatingLy slow that it doesn't matter how good the food was (hint - good, but not even close to being good enough to justify waiting more than 90 mins for an entree.) Spoke to the manager and he was completely unconcerned with our issues. Huge disappointment. I can't imagine why I would ever be back! There are dozens of places that offer what they offer, but with reasonable timelines. Ps the drinks were no faster than the food.
Food was cold. Lucky to have a three stars.
An amazing dinner accompanied by a warm and inviting atmosphere. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our tastefully presented meals. I had the Short Ribs, the girls had Salmon and Mark had the Beef Tenderloin. Everything about the Riverbank Bistro on this cold January evening was fantastic! Looking forward to our next visit to this new St Albert restaurant. Well done !
Beautiful style of building, overlooking a river. Small dining area, so it's relatively intimate. Food is delicious, and service staff is genuine and kind.
Love the small atmosphere, great service and equally great food
Had the avocado bruschetta, not usually a fan of avocado, but the bruschetta is out of this world. Beef tenderloin was our main course, once again probably the best cut of beef I’ve ever had anywhere. The price was slightly high, but worth every cent. I encourage all St. Albertans, and even edmontonians to support this small business. Cheers.
We are return customers and love this tasty, quaint and homemade restaurant. The chef and staff are wonderful. Every time we go, our experience is the top. I highly recommend.
Every time I go into St. Albert I always see this beautiful building-Riverbank Bistro. After 10 years of living in Edmonton I finally decided to go there. Took my fiancée tonight and it was so quaint and lovely. I had the ancho chicken pasta and she had the vegetable wellington. Both so good and quite a hefty serving. Our server, Susan, was delightful. We each had a cocktail which was blissful and we will definitely be going back. Thinking of renting out the space for our engagement party! 10/10 recommend!
This place has the best brunch I've had in years. Dinner menu is great as well. Definitely a spot we visit regularly
Service
Excellent food and service. Flavors blended nicely for a culinary adventure!
Amazing service tonight as well as some really good food. Honestly the whole staff is extremely friendly.
I truly couldn’t speak highly enough , had our first dinner here and it was outstanding. Our server was lovely. The food was delicious and had great portions .
The food is outstanding! It's familiar and yet completely different if that's even possible. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food, must have dessert was sooo delicious
Nice atmosphere. Excellent food and professional staff.Nice leisurely dining.
Wonderful experience at this establishment. Absolutely loved the food and the service. We had a few special requests as there were dietary requirements and Chef Dan was able to accommodate and even created a brilliant special dish. Would highly recommend 10/10
It was a very small, well decorated venue. The building that its located in so one of a kind. The entrace can be confusing as the building says external affairs but if you go inside, its right when you walk in! The food was decent, there brunch menu is fairly small but has a good variety.
Awful food , awful service . Vegetarian Wellingtons were to dry. In the middle of the dinner the waitress told us they run of the wine we started with, would have been nice to know before we started...just an awful experience ,second time around
Such a lovely meal and experience.
Recently we have used takeout services twice from the Riverbank Bistro. Both time the presentation was excellent considering the container and the quality and taste was superb!!
Love it! We go here every time we want a nice meal!
Incredible service and amazing food! Thank you for such a wonderful evening!
BEST MEAL EVER, ambiance is fantastic, & truly a real gem to be tried in St. Albert.
I wish I could give 6 stars - I don't think I've felt this way about a restaurant in a long time. …
Dine in
Sooo good the food was amazing and the waitress was awesome
Great food. This places is amazing.
Recently travelled into Edmonton to celebrate a birthday weekend. Found the Riverbank Bistro online and chose it due to its high ratings and delicious looking menu. Booked a reservation for 7pm, I admit we were 2-3 minutes late for our reservation mostly due to not being able to figure out how to actually access the bistro. After being greeted and sat we promptly received menus and water. That is where all promptness ended, we continued to sit there for over 40 minutes waiting for our drink order to be taken ( which never happened ) after those who were seated after us began being served we decided it was time to leave. Quickly reviewed open table and decided to go with a tried and true favourite, Sabor. I should also mention the restaurant was no where near capacity. Although the menu looked appealing I would not recommend as it was not a welcome way to celebrate a milestone. When leaving, we mentioned to the waitstaff that we were going somewhere else and they were completely oblivious to the fact that we were even there. All in all, not a great experience whatsoever.
The Riverbank bistro hosted a small socially distanced wedding on the weekend for my son and daughter-in-law. If I could give chef Dan 6 stars for the meal that he put together, I would. The appetizers, mushroom soup, salad and the main course were as good as you would get in the most expensive restaurants anywhere. Danielle looked after us extremely well, was attentive, quick witted and extremely accommodating. Exactly what you hope for when out for an evening. Danielle, if you read this... “thank you” again, you helped make the evening incredible. If you are in the Edmonton area and are looking to try a place that you have never been, give the Riverbank Bistro a try. It will become a “go to” for you.

Best place to eat
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Portions are generous.
Great Beef Tenderloin... perfectly prepared. Attentive and helpful service
The chef clearly takes a lot of pride in cultivating an interesting and perfectly balanced menu. I ate the bison with truffle sauce and I really loved it! The perfect light, yet filling, meal for me. The truffle sauce was so good that I look forward to returning here! Don't panic if the menu only says appetizers and starters, it's definitely the whole menu, and the pasta dishes are larger than those terms suggest :)
Had an amazing experience. Merissa went above and beyond my needs and had excellent suggestions. The food (I got the fusilli) was very well balanced and presented. The owner, Dan, came out to ensure I was enjoying everything - a very charming man. The music and atmosphere made me feel welcomed and fanciful. A great improvement from the previous restaurant!
Loved it! The new chef/owner knows how to cook! The service is prompt without feeling like you're rushed, and the food is fantastic. The only thing I could even try and criticize is that the cauliflower app is a little big, but when too big of a portion for one thing is the only problem, you know there are no actual problems. Prices are more than fair, especially considering the quality and detail. Everyone should eat here.
Wonderful food, atmosphere and service. We are from California. Our friends took us here. Best food we have eaten on our trip.
My twin sister and I had dinner at Riverbank Bistro yesterday to celebrate our birthday and it was one the best dining experiences we have ever had. The food was superb! The quality of ingredients, amazing flavours and presentation was as …
Good dining experience as a whole. My partner loved her food and didn't have any issues. Appetizer: mushroom soup - excellent Bison carpatio - very good. The aioli was very nice, but it would be nice if they served this with something more solid like a cracker of sorts to place the items on. Main: Ribeye 10oz- it was under seasoned (salt) and the plate looked a little empty. Dessert: creme brulee. Absolutely no salt at all, which was disappointing. Which would have given the dessert a nice contrast between the sweet and the cream. It also would have given the toffee top more favor. I think for the most part the food was good and I would like to try it again, though I think when fine dining a person should never ever have to season their own food. The chef clearly needs to work on this aspect of their cooking game.
This stands out as one of the best meal experiences I've had. The coconut chicken bites appetizer was very flavourful, and the flourless chocolate cake was one of the better chocolate desserts I've enjoyed - and I've been known to travel for a good chocolate dessert. But the beef tenderloin was just a masterpiece. Never had anything quite like it. Super impressed by this place, and I'm sure I'll be back.
Fantastic food and beautiful location
Food and service were exceptional, very comfortable following covid safety measures. We really need to support local businesses like this !
Food was amazing! Service was incredible! They cared enough to help deliver her gift to the dinner table in secret at desert time. Warm cozy atmosphere.
Cozy intimate setting with great service and a lot of tasty options on the menu. Can't wait to go back!
Very nice location, interesting vibe- great chairs, not much competes with it here in St. Albert. Entrees are a fair size, bison steak was excellent and salmon was also good. Coconut chicken appetizer is nothing special but it isn’t bad, I’d go with soup of the day instead for something a little different. More expensive than usual pub fare but on par with the Keg. Definitely worth a visit.
Let me be clear ... I'm rating a 1 star today, but it has always been a 4.9 (nobody's perfect). We met 2 other couples for dinner last night - we hadn't been out in quite some time with them, so we were looking forward to another great experience. Save for a few good laughs, this wouldn't be it. We had a reservation for 6 - adults, but it was like we were all at the kids table at Christmas. My mushroom soup ($11) had a skin on it and had obviously been sitting for a while. My salmon ($32) was overcooked - not so much so that I would send it back, but nevertheless overcooked. Scant serving size for the entire dish. The food, overall was almost up to the usual par. The Service .... yikes. In a highly competitive market as hospitality, the Service staff can make you or break you - especially in the higher end restaurants. Table maintenance (poor), watering (poor), beverage check (poor), timeliness (poor), customer rapport (non-existent). In our family, we work on the 3-Strikes-You're-Out, when it comes to restaurants and if a place gets 3 strikes, we do not return for at least 1 year. I get it - every place can have an off-night and last night was garbage. Overheard comments, gestures and other non-verbal cues from other customers confirmed we were not the only under impressed diners. I would never have thought the Riverbank Bistro would earn a strike with us. Very disappointing.
Excellent menu and professional staff, food is absolutely fantastic, nothing but praise, will definitely go back....
Really fantastic meal: garden salad (fresh mushroom soup for my husband), beef tenderloin, and creme brûlée to finish it off...absolutely delicious! Dan is a great chef, and all of our servers did an amazing job looking after our event last night. Thank you for such a great experience!
Cozy, intimate atmosphere. The food was tasty and where need be, hot. We have never been disappointed here. The staff are very pleasant and the service is top notch. A little pricey, but definitely worth the treat once in a while. Look forward to our next visit.
Such a unique looking building and beautifully decorated inside. We both had wonderful meals. I would recommend the pork belly as an appetizer for sure! You don't really get great views of the river but that didn't matter to us. We had a tasty meal and excellent service from our waitress. I would highly recommend this place for a romantic date night (you could also go for a family dinner, too).
A friend of mine chose Riverbank Bistro as the place to celebrate her birthday this past weekend, and we were not disappointed. The food, the ambiance, and the service are all excellent here. The server offered a great explanation for items on the menu as well as the daily specials. We all shared bites of each other's entrees; from the short ribs to the steak to the sturgeon, everything was delectable. The desserts offered a perfect complement to the entrees; nothing was over-decadent or heavy, so it didn't leave anyone feeling overfull. The portions were perfect and my dessert choice, the flourless chocolate cake, was delicious from first bite to last. I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for delicious food.
Went here for date night with my wife, food was mostly good I had the chicken and the skin was so salty I couldn’t eat it, I pulled that off and finished the rest. Mushroom soup was very good, wife had the Bison and she said it was good as well. I would recommend, if it weren’t for the salty chicken skin it would be five stars.
Food was cooked perfectly, good service and views as well.
A warm welcome & superior service. An excellent selection of appetizers, mains & desserts & wine. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal & especially the homemade key lime pie. Would recommend & return for sure
Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous there is no better fine food and quality dining experience in St.Albert than this place. Trust me! I know excellent food and this is where you get it in St.Albert. Dan and his crew will never let you down!!
What a cute place! It's on Canada's 100 most romantic places to eat and I can see why! Very light atmosphere with lots of books and crannies to make it feel very intimate. The menu is seasonal an we had the fall items that were SO GOOD. The flavours flowed together amazingly and complemented each other. I had a glass of wine to go with the chicken and it truly made everything come together! Service was great, building is beautiful. Can't wait to return!
Chicken with the artichoke bread pudding was amazing! Vegetarian Wellington was also spectacular! Great service and atmosphere again as always!
This was our 2nd time here. The food and service was great on the 1st visit and it still was great on the 2nd time. We would definitely go back.
We have gone to the restaurant three times. We have not been disappointed. Delish. Meal . Best restaurant in St. Alberrt
