You must have seen that its rating is almost the best one, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the rating is quite accurate. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Mexican restaurant.
Best lunch I've had, ever. Period. Friendly warning: the tacos are not tiny like in a lot of American Taco joints. 2 tacos were more than enough for a full grown dude! Tried the soup of the day (Tortilla chicken) and the Gringo Beef on corn tortillas. The way they layer the flavors in all of the ingredients is phenomenal. Every piece used serves the greater flavor - the 'sum' is greater than the parts. That's the kind of experience I want when I'm paying someone else to cook food for me in a restaurant setting, and not many places get this right. Fiancee had the Chicken Al Pastor and loved it too! Will def be back!
Yes the tacos were good, but the service failed horribly. Sat for 10 minutes with no menus. Our server dropped off water did not introduce herself or notice we didn't have menus. She came to take our order then noticed (didn't apologize) just said oh.. No menus.. And meandered off to grab them. Got the nachos with hardly any cheese, really disappointed. Had the chicken, beef and pork tacos for the table and they were quite good but we were already bummed out from the lacking service. After serving for a few years, I'm usually pretty lenient with service but she was obviously not busy. To me it looks they need a few more training meetings or more experienced servers.
Was looking for a taste of Mexico and boy oh boy did they have it. This place is the real deal for a taco meal! Happy hour special prices are on point. Can't wait to feast on their tacos once again. Carnitas taco is delicious. Chorizo taco local sausage. Too good.
Decent place for tacos, bit pricey but very generous fillings. Best to order a few different things to try everything. Not as authentic tasting as I was hoping but good enough if in the mood. Shrimp tacos were the best, pork were dry and not saucy which some people will not like. Look to come on a cheaper day to save a few bucks. Hot here is not very hot at all lol.
Arguably the best tacos in Edmonton. Fresh ingredients, great service, and fair prices. Also great for anyone with allergies as there's a lot of selection on the menu for gluten free or vegan options
Excellent local establishment with delicious tacos, cold beer, and frozen margaritas.
Great tacos! We ordered the carnitas, the shrimp and the snapper tacos- ordered three each because I was worried I might still be hungry. Well they are big tacos and I couldn’t finish them! We both agreed that the shrimp was the best- nice balance of acidity and tartness. A little on the expensive side but worth it for sure!
The carnitas tacos are AMAZING. Everything ive ever ordered is delicious.
The tacos will leave you on your a**, so good. You get the feeling the sea and boat launch is right out the door, only when the sun shines in at the right angle onto your cold beer. Delicious pork cheek tacos (messy but a bigger tortilla would mitigate that) 5 ⭐️
Great food and drink, a little pricey for a taco place, but the portions are large and the service is quite good. Great views from the second floor, but bring sunglasses! Very nice atmosphere and little to no wait. Small place. Not good for big groups. Great for small intimate meals and drinks
Was visiting family recently and went for dinner here. Can I just say... Mexican food and tequila are my 2 favourite things. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff were on their game. Super friendly place. 10/10 will eat here again.
Really love this little place, missing their fun vibe and delicious food. Pre-2020 my husband and I loved to introduce family and friends to Cerdo. Multiple great doubles dates have been had here! The food is super, the staff is always friendly and we always have an enjoyable time. During 2020 we have ordered for pick up a few times and the food has been really good, they are keeping up with the quality and portions and wonderful flavors. Can’t wait to get back to that rooftop in the sunshine and have a few bulldogs!
I love the pork tacos. I can't comment on the chicken or shrimp because I haven't been able to convince myself to try something else when I love the pork so much! My kids had the beef and liked them, and the chips & dips and nachos were great also. It can fill up very quickly on busy nights, which slows things down considerably, but service is good.
Oh my! So, I don't like Mexican food. I'm not big on tacos and if we have them at home I'll usually cook myself something else. Wow! This food was so amazing! I went for dinner with my friend and it was absolutely amazing! Staff was great! The entire atmosphere was relaxed and fun! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!
We walked in off the street without being familiar with Cerdo but looking for a taco dinner for our family. It was Taco Tuesday and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The tacos were flavourful and portions were a great size. We will definitely be back!
Their tacos are flavourful, fresh and simply amazing. Cute place with nice decor and lively atmosphere. It definitely gets busy! But the service has always been pretty quick the times I've went. Great food and drink selection. A must go for anyone craving some good tacos.
My absolute favorite tacos! Presentation is great and taste is also amazing and they load up the chicken tacos which I love! Definitely worth a try
DELICIOUS TACOS! My favourite are the fish tacos. GF available. The house margaritas are not tasty (they use the lime pre-made mix) but I recommend the premium margaritas! Awesome roof top patio and friendly staff!
This is my first review. Normally I couldn't be bothered but the service and food at Cedro's was leaps and bounds above every resturant in Edmonton/ St Albert. The server was awesome and made recommendations. Beer was cold and fresh. And the food was excellent. Resturant is clean and has an authentic feel. Highly recommend to everyone
Dinner
Delicious, comfy, cozy and reasonable prices! I ordered the SMALL carnitas tacos and was beyond full. The pork was crispy and juicy and perfect. I hope to return soon and have actual tequila in my margarita. #worklunch
First time here was great tacos. Only wish could order just 1. Had to order 2 or 3. They would not sell just 1. I wanted to try one to see of I liked it. Beside that awesome place. Was impressed they serve a new customer walk in 15 mins before close. This is a great traet keep it up. Will be back for sure. Ice cream dessert was great.
The best Tacos. Awesome vegetarian and vegan options. Best bulldogs in town.
If you like authentic Mexican tacos look no further!! I sampled 4 different tacos here and all of them were outstanding!! They are open during covid so call them today and dont miss out on food that you'll wanna taco-bout for weeks to come!!

We went to Cerdo today (Saturday) for lunch and although the food was delicious, we were very disappointed with the service we received, especially from the manager. Our server really wanted to help, but his manager definitely had no intention of helping! There were 7 of us, 3 of which were kids, and we asked if we could add an extra table to accommodate us and-or move the tables to the shade and and it was a big no-no! The manager told me there were a tequila restaurant and he had no intention of helping our family eat at his restaurant. Looking around, more than half the tables had at least one kid with them... But hey, he told us that the tables were the way they were and he could had a chair and we could all sqeeze, in the sun, on those 2 small tables. If you do not want to serve family, fine, but just say it, make an age restriction or something. Anyhow, we will not be going back, and will be going to another restaurant where they value their customer, and not just their pockets! If you have kids with you, DO NOT GO THERE, as you will not be valued customers... sad!
Take out
A friend of mine had recommended this place a while back, finally managed to be in the area and they were open so decided to stop by, I was surprised to see on Google they had dine-in but when I showed up it's only take-out only and you can only call your order in so did that and I guess I'll have to wait for a dining in experience to give it a fair review next time as this time wasn't expected, let's just say that.
Good tacos. The prices are a bit high for the smallish portion size but the food is good and it's a nice place. We had the fish and the shrimp tacos, both are recommended.
I know Bulldogs aren't a huge challenge to make but this was still the best one I've ever had. Not only that, but the tacos were amazing! Such simple flavours making up one amazing dish. Looking forward to going back in the summer to eat on the rooftop! The only issue for me is that they close kind of early for weekend dining hours, so you might need to plan ahead a bit to get there in time.
Food is delicious. I'm sad they changed the yellow corn tortillas to white corn though. Service is about 50/50 but the good food makes up for it.

Want white people “Mexican food” that tastes terrible? Come here. Generous proportions, decent service and fair prices don’t make up for the terrible food. If you go stay clear of the tacos and stick to the nachos which are typical bar food style. The beef and chicken are terrible. Didn’t try the pork maybe it’s better but I won’t be back to find out.
Tacos were really good! We ordered 2 each as they were larger than usual. Nice place to eat, it has outdoor patio and ok service.
I'm surprised I haven't stopped by Cerdo sooner! Stopped in and enjoyed some carnitas tacos this past weekend and enjoyed the experience. Our server was kind and attentive. Portion sizes here for the tacos are very generous and I was stuffed after 2 tacos! Will absolutely be coming back next time I need to satisfy a taco craving.
Loved going to Cerdo! The atmosphere was great and our server was amazing. The tacos were so good. We had the Carnitas and the Shrimp tacos. The shrimp ones were so light and refreshing and the carnitas were very savory. I highly recommend.
Great tacos and margaritas. Good prices unique decor. Always come away satisfied.
Very nice experience. Tacos were tasty, fresh, and full flavoured. Worked well for a gluten free meal. The tequila is pretty pricey, two doubles and 6 tacos cost us $75, but for a good downtown lunch or dinner, I'd recommend it. Drinks were half that cost.
They have a great patio for a warm summer evening. It's a little small, but the food is good. Not a huge menu, so you'd better like tacos!
What a great surprise to find this little authentic Mexican restaurant in the middle of old St. Albert. Great flavours! It take skill to make it spicy and keep the taste, they have both. Will most certainly return!
So many reviews for this place that were very good, I really expected a lot more. We went on a night where it was empty. A few friends told us about how good the tacos were here and we were really excited for it. My husband liked the food but I thought it was in edible (for reference my husband could eat a big Mac every day for the rest of his life if I let him.) The meat in the tacos was so over cooked and oily, you could tell that it was old. The food in general was just low quality and overpriced. The waitress was not very professional either. Not a good experience in general
Love the chicken tacos! They put pineapple and cilantro in them
The service was great. Food is delicious. And the margaritas are amazing!
Delicious! I lived in Mexico for many years, miss it terribly, and Cerdo brings it all back. I highly recommend shrimp on flour, chicken al pastor on corn, and coconut lime margaritas!
Awesome. Best place in St Albert for a Mexican treat. Must have the fish and shrimp tacos! And a bartender's Margarita. And very good service too. You won't be disappointed!
I have been at least twenty times to this restaurant tonight was by far the worst all the complaints we made were our fault Quesofundito we ordered without cilantro came covered in it so they took it back to kitchen took it off by hand and immediately returned it to table. We asked for owner and said we we were unhappy he said that was the way he made it and to bad we wouldn't have to pay. I mentioned that i had owned restaurants in the past he informed me it was 2019 and things had changed. I am very saddened by this experience as i was very fond of the place and will no longer be a client we had gone for taco night and had to ask for everything as the server just wanted to go home at 7:40 she told us is was last call just after we ordered dinner. Then without fully cleaning the table she brought the bill we then asked for the desert we had ordered very sad state of affairs and in my opinion the beginning of the end first law of restaurant business the customer is not always right but never wrong.
Yum! Go with a friend that will let you share tacos because it's too hard to decide which one to get, since they are all delicious. They have a nice beer selection as well. Oh ya, try the corn-on-the-cob; it will not disappoint.
Cerdo is a St. Albert gem. The food is always excellent, special mention to the Queso Fundido. All of the tacos are delicious. All of them. Don't choose, just keep going back until you've eaten the entire menu. The interior of the restaurant is clean and a tad small but we'll air conditioned and the staff is always friendly and attentive. They have a great outdoor patio area that I'd call 10/10 on a hot day, the kind of hot day that warrants a margarita.
We came in for a bite to eat after visiting the St. Albert Farmers Market and they were quite busy which was nice to see. They have seating upstairs, downstairs and around the bar. Great flavour for the corn and tacos! We ordered the chorizo and pork tacos. The vibe was great and the bartenders margarita was excellent. Great place for parties, dates, friends night out, you name it!
Amazing tacos - I just got back from Mexico and found the quality comparable if not better than most of the places down there. Al Pastor and Carnitas are amazing
YUM!!! The best tacos in the Edmonton and St. Albert area. And at a decent price. Also love the atmosphere. Can't wait to go back for more!!
Such delicious tacos and margaritas! We went for happy hour and sampled several of each. Staff were friendly and made great recommendations. It's a cute little restaurant! We'll definitely be back!
Very good meal. Will return. I would have ordered the shrimp avocado salad if it came with chips. Ordered shrimp tacos instead. Very good. Missed the chips with salad like a south side restaurant.
Service
Heard lots of good things about this place, finally went to eat there and was not disappointed. We happened to arrive during happy hour, so even though I'm not much of a fan of them, I had a margarita. First one in my life I actually enjoyed, better than a 4 star mexican resort. We had chips and dip (guacamole and salsa) for the the table, and I had the pork carnitas. Not that is difficult to put together chips and dip, but it was really nice, good presentation and the dips were tasty, ant there was enough for 4 people. The carnitas sere superb, I got three but two would have been plenty, surprising filling. The service was efficient and friendly, and I feel the prices were fair. I would definitely recommend. I can't wait for patio weather to check out their rooftop patio.
Not authentic Mexican food. Service was very nice and the portions were relative to the price charged and nicely presented. But not happy with the simple menu and flavors modified to appeal the Albertan market.
Don't get the nachos. Very underwhelming and overpriced for what you get. Not a good first impression. My friends quesadillas looked blah. The pork flavor was okay but chewy. Overall I believe this place to be overpriced, small and just not worth it.
I heard of this place some time ago & finally decided to give it a try since I was in the mood for Mexican food. I made my way to St. Albert & called to order as I was on my way there. I called about 3 or 4 times & was hung up on each time, this was 40 minutes before they were supposed to close. I showed up at the restaurant just a few minutes later, ( 35 minutes before close ) & was asked if I was picking up food for Cory & I said well actually I tried to phone & place an order but couldn't reach you guys. He said sorry were closed. I'm glad I wasted a good 45 minutes driving from Edmonton going to get food from this place instead of going to one of the few good Mexican restaurants in Edmonton. I noticed a similar review on here as well so it seems to me this is a pretty common occurrence at this place. I can't speak on the food itself but the customer service is terrible so I definitely won't be coming back here.
It's my new favorite place to eat. I love the Gringo Tacos and the street corn. Get here early, or you won't find any sittings. There is also a rooftop. Also the slush peach house margarita is so yummy!!
Prices were similar to higher end taco joints, while food was fairly bland. The beans and rice was literally steamed rice and beans, I was expecting something a bit more Mexican. The $5 serving of chips is a small portion of que pasa chips (I saw the bag), a large bag costs $5 at the grocery store. It's nice when restaurants serve complimentary chips as a starter for your meal, but that is not the case here. I also found the setup of the restaurant rather displeasing. They get busy and dont have enough tables for all customers, and have no wait area available, as well as little space between the door and tables. For the end of my meal I had a couple standing fairly close to me and staring at me until I left, so they could have my table. Not the most relaxing way to eat a meal.
Tastes so fresh every time! Servings are worth the amount. I always get the Carnitas! The pork is cooked perfectly everytime! Live the roof top patio
It will maybe sound funny since we've only been to Cerdo twice, but they are high on my list of places I'll miss when we leave Edmonton. My partner is a big fan of anything on the menu with chorizo from Darcy's. I love all the quesadilla options. Great food and wonderful staff. You should go!
I am a celiac so I am always looking for new places to eat. Cerdo did not disappoint. In fact, I was honestly expected a good but average meal however my meal was FANTASTIC. I had the Gluten Free carnitas tacos (with corn soft tacos) and it was hands down the best I've had (and I have been to multiple other well known Mexican restaurants in and around Edmonton). The meat was so tender and the flavours were amazing. I did request their grilled, chopped pineapple on top which might have put it over the top delicious but I'm sure without it, it still would have been great. Waitress did say all the tacos are GF with the corn tortilla. My husband had the Gringo Beef and said it was really good as well! Service was great and food came out prompt but we were also there on a Friday during the Christmas break, -30 outside and in-between meal rushes (2:30pm) SOOO it was a little set up in our favour to be quiet inside which meant food came fast! Highly recommend checking it out.
Always enjoy dinners here with our group. Great Bull Dogs and fish tacos. Natchos are outstanding too. Service was attentive and quick. I am glad this restaurant is making a strong go of it here in St. Albert.
Had the Tuesday dinner deal. Every article thing was amazing. Save for the corn chips. Bit bland. Chorizo tacos were beyond fantastic. That was the best corn on the cob I've ever had. We'll be back for certain.
Wow, this place was good and filling. This is a more authentic taco experience. The waitress was the best she was friendly and very competent in her job.
I've lived in St. Albert for a few years now but I still go into Edmonton for most of my restaurant dining. The other day I decided to stay in town and try something new, so I went to Cerdo with a friend. I was not disappointed! The food was delicious and came quick, and the people were very friendly. Normally I would take a picture of my food before I eat for a post like this, but I was just too excited to wait!
Mmmmm tacos! Friendly staff and great food. The shrimp tacos were SO good. I crave them all the time and I can't wait until the next time I can have more!
Not family friendly in the least. No high chairs for kids, no change tables in the washrooms and no kids menus. Obviously this is not relevant should you not have kids, but something to consider. The food is OK when considering what St. Albert has to offer for restaurants, If this was downtown Edmonton, this place would not be a stand out. They have started to cut corners with some of there food options as well, namely the Tres dip. The chips use to be really great quality, now they cheaped out and offer run of the mill corn chips that you can buy from any supermarket, but have keep the price the same. This restaurant has great potential, but fails in execution in a lot of ways.
I love the tacos and margaritas here! Staff is great and the roof top patio is an added bonus (inside is very nice too). Located in the heart of downtown St Albert, I love having lunch here on Saturdays during our summer farmers market. Also great for my Taco Tuesday cravings.
Lunch
Excellent food, decent atmosphere. The carnitas are phenomenal and I have to be honest, although I've been 4 times now, I've not made it past the carnitas. The manager / bar tender has been excellent each time. The kids love their drink options and I love the Mojitos.
Good food, not authentic Mexican but it still tasted good. Service was good at lunch time on a Friday with just the one waitress. No highchairs for kids or booster seats.
My Mom and I came here for lunch after visiting the farmers market. We were able to get a great table on the rooftop. What a neat restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. The staff were so nice and very attentive. The restaurant was very clean. We will absolutely come back again! Thank you!
Where do I start... flavour highway! This place is a cute little spot tucked away in downtown St.Albert. The interior is fun and modern, clean and inviting. The staff are full of smiles and eager to provide awesome service. Let’s get down to business though... what’s most important is the food!! The tacos are fresh, the flavours take you to the moon, and if you close your eyes you feel you’re back in Mexico enjoying them in the hot sun. If you love tacos you’ve tried a few in your day, and I’m all for it. If you haven’t tried Cerdos to add to that flavour hit list, you’re in for a treat. And if you’re feeling like you wanna gamble and really take in the experience... do your self a favour, start with those deadly nachos, pick any taco on the menu they’re all good but try at least two juuuuust to make sure you haven’t missed out on all those options, and wash it all down with an incredible and timeless bulldog. Like I said close your eyes, and sit back relax to enjoy flavour highway! It won’t disappoint!! Thank me later, enjoy!!
Dine in
When you start eating the taco it gives you a sense of joy every bite gets better and better. By far the best tacos in the city and outside the city. If I was able to give it ten stars I would! Worth every penny you are paying for quality food.
Had the pork and chorizo tacos, they were delicious!!!! Could not believe the size when they arrived quickly from the kitchen... I’m used to small tacos that really only give you a couple bites. These tacos hit the spot!! Washed it all down with the Aprikat beer... it goes down way too smooth and easy! Sitting on the upstairs patio under the sun watching the courtyard below was a awesome experience!! Over all a fantastic experience, great food and friendly people!
The food is incredible. However, the prices have gone up and they aren't make their own tortilla chips anymore (which were really good & a big draw). Had the Fish Tacso - delish.
I’ve had Mexican food at restaurants in Vancouver, Calgary, Seattle and Edmonton and this place in St Albert is the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I loved the portions, the authentic taste and the atmosphere was great. The location was awesome and although it was a $90 bill for the two of us, and I had no alcohol and my girlfriend only had one drink, it was good enough food and service that I can’t wait to go back after saving up some money for the next visit.
Absolutely delicious tortilla soup in a generous portion, it's worth going just for that alone. The tacos I had were ok. I had the red snapper fish tacos and found them a little too dry and bland despite all the jalapeños, I would ask for extra sauce next time.
Stopped in for brunch while visiting the farmers market. Drinks were awesome and food was flavorful. Thr boyfriend loved the mimosa..but be aware it does have tequila in it as well as the champagne :)
This place has so much potential. The tacos were good and the service was very warm and friendly. I'd love to see a themed daily based on specific tacos. Also a more creative exploration of the merger between the food and atmosphere would enhance this little treasure.
Amazing tacos. Definitely recommend.
On July 16, 2019 we took our friend from Toronto out to dinner at Cerdo. She is a well known luxury travel consultant. I’m sorry to say that the experience at Cerdo was not good at all. Our waitress paid no attention to my specific request for no cilantro on my Queso Fundito with chorizo. I had to send it back as I have very adverse reactions to cilantro. The cilantro was scraped off and was delivered back to me. I must say, I have had this dish at the very least two dozen times at this restaurant. I was very disappointed in the taste of the dish this time and it was not at all like any of the other times I’ve had it. When I told our waitress that I was disappointed in my meal, she just shrugged me off and walked away. Before the ice cream that was ordered at the beginning of the meal was delivered, she produced the bill. When she was asked about the ice cream, she seemed very put off that we were asking for the dessert. My husband asked to speak with the owner so that we could let him know about our experience, the owner came to our table and got very aggressive and argumentative. I told him that this queso fundito was not like I have had the two dozen other times. He told me that he has not changed the recipe and that I must be wrong. I used to manage a very high volume restaurant in Toronto and would have never spoken to any of my customers the way we were spoken to. Needless to say we were highly embarrassed that our friend visiting with us had to experience this kind of very negative behaviour from the owner of this establishment. I will never return and will tell all of my friends and business associates to never go there either. This has got to be the most disappointing experience I have ever had in a restaurant to date. So long Cerdo. Good luck!
I feel bad for the people of St Albert who think this is authentic Mexican street food . The service had been horrible and the food is flavorless. Save yourself the money and head on down the trail to Mucho Burrito it beats cerdo any day . Earls has some amazing tacos for happy hour AND central has tacos for $1 on Thursdays . Or take the 20 min drive down to Whyte Ave and hit up El Cortez for the best authentic Mexican ????????????????
Service
I LOVE Cerdo! Super good food with a great menu! They are really good for gluten free and allergies! I love getting the cheese quesadilla with beef! They also support other local businesses in St. Albert which is cool too!
Was there tonight with my family. It was quite busy and we waited about an hour for our food from the time we ordered. I started to doubt if we had actually ordered as I saw other (smaller) tables being turned over multiple times while we waited. Would’ve probably gave 3-4 stars if the wait wasn’t so long. The food was decent, but at the end of the day they were just tacos. They weren’t overly flavourful and were fairly basic. Mine was basically chicken, coleslaw, mayo type sauce and pineapple. After the hour wait I had hoped for something more..
Nice little hidden gem in St Albert for decent sized tacos and a good price!
