We were handed a tiny table on the corner of a busy passageway with no waitresses coming and going. We figured it was better to leave than to feel badly seated with little space and less welcome because we didn't have a reservation. “But the benches are reserved for those who have a reservation, sir”. We had never seen this anywhere else, even when the restaurant just opened. The art of customer service and catering is unfortunately being lost. Be badly seated and badly welcomed, at Vieux-Duluth what a disappointment. ???????? (Original) Un nouveau restaurant invitant, mais on ne s’y sent pas le bienvenue lorsqu’on y arrive au pied levé sans réservation en plein mardi 16h45. On aurait bien aimé réserver mais c’était un arrêt décidé à la dernière minute en constatant le stationnement vide de l’endroit et pour souligner la réouverture des lieux à Chicoutimi. On nous a refilé une table minuscule au coin d’un passage achalandé pas les vas et viens des serveuses. On s’est dit qu’il valait mieux de partir que de se sentir mal assis avec peu d’espace et d’être moins bien accueillis parce qu’on n’avait pas de réservation. « Mais les banquettes sont réservées à ceux qui ont une réservation monsieur ». Nous n’avions jamais vu ça ailleurs, même lorsque le resto vient juste d’ouvrir. L’art du service client et de la restauration se perd malheureusement. Soyez mal assis et mal accueillis, au Vieux-Duluth quelle déception. ????????

Une fois notre place attribuée, la personne responsable de servir le pain et l'eau sont venu servir le pain près de 20 min après m'être assis. L'eau a été reçu durant le repas principal. Quant au sceau de glace pour le vin, il a été demandé au début lors de notre commande et nous l'avons reçu au milieu du repas principal également car la serveuse y est aller elle-même. Pour le service reçu par la serveuse, ça été impeccable ! Celle qui nous a servi se prénomme Karine et c'est une vrai perle! On l'a remercie pour son excellent service! Pour terminer, nous avons très bien mangé, la nourriture était excellente ainsi que le service reçu par Karine. Ce qui a fait défaut est l'attribution des places et le service préliminaire des pains, de l'eau et du sceau à glace. Même si je donne 3 étoiles, je sais que cette situation n'est que temporaire. Je suis persuadé que le personnel saura s'ajuster afin de redevenir aussi performant qu'il l'était avant la fermeture. C'est pourquoi je vais continuer d'aller dans ce magnifique restaurant!
