REVIEWS OF Bodega Tapas Bar IN Regina

Pat René

The place is nice but a bit expansive and I was not impressed by the food. We had lobster poutine and buffalo chicken pizza. Seen better, but not a bad overall experience.

Daniel Gal

Its hard to describe how fantastic my visit here was. The staff were great and welcoming; the food was amazing, although all-a-bit outside of my comfort zone; the interior was sweet, the patio was nice. It's a bit pricey, but you get your money's worth. Totally check out Bodega for an adventurous, delicious dine.

Sapir Atiya

Great restaurant! Really good food, fair prices and very friendly staff! We really enjoyed everything, there’s a young and classy vibe!

Sara Londono

Wow...everything was delicious! Their barbecue ribs and pork belly skewers are indeed something to write home about! The tapas selection is ample and bound to suit sophisticated palates. Plus the servers are kind and personable! We love coming here!

Dan Lopez

Good for a date but the menu and the service has gone downhill. Half price wine all the time is probably their best feature. The bar side has a good atmosphere going on. Brunch is probably their best time if you're looking for food.

I was very excited to try Bodegas, my wife raved about it when it opened. We started with Tapas, the octopus was overcooked and stringy, just awful. The bone marrow was undercooked and overpriced. The fried brussle sprouts were okay but tasted like old frier oil. We decided to take our wine back to the hotel and order room service. Maybe this place was once great but seems they have stopped trying. Atmosphere was good. Food was not.

Chuck Jedlicka

Waiter was great but it was dead. Upstairs balcony had tons of popular juice everywhere. I don't think they could do anything about it if they wanted too. All the tables were dirty upstairs and I am not sure if they forgot about it.

Tristan Kalina

The service was amazing. As well as the waiter knew his wine selection very well. I was very impressed. The wine selection is great. This is a great place to go on a date or hang out with friends.

Billie

Great taste, I will share with my friend!

Kelley Jo Burke

New management. New chef. Quite close to old menu and prices. Beautiful mains. Desserts tried were not great. Poorly conceived and in one case raw. But the savoury food was divine. Early days. I feel sure this will shake out.

This restaurant is really important to my husband and I as we go there nearly every time we visit Regina and we found it by accident, it was just near to where we were at the time. The food is incredible, the servers and the ambiance are second to none, and we always feel so welcomed there. We always get excited coming to Regina to go there.

Sawyer Swan

Amazing food as always. They're just opening up again and i wish them well in their reopening!

Dale Stanway

Good food and large portions for a tapas bar. Staff were very pleasant.

Jayln Goudy

It was chill and great music, great food, great booze! Its Boujie!! Like NYC little fancy pub. No TV of sports, which is great!

David Metcalfe

One of the few locations in Regina to eat at that are run competently and have a nice setup. The rooftop patio in particular are quite enjoyable, though they could do a bit more to resolve the presence of flies and wasps while one's eating. Food was overall enjoyable for a tapas place, and most criticisms launched are mostly nitpicking, but their muscles are to be avoided if one has been spoiled by stellar sea food in their travels.

Ehjae Chan

Oh my goodness, this is quite possibly the quaintest, cutest place in Regina. I think I've found my new favourite place to go to when in town! Service was superb and the decor is amazing.

Emily O

Very cool and comfortable atmosphere with cozy couches. Tapas are filling and delicious! Fun to share with friends. Service was friendly and washrooms were super clean!

James Dickenson

Wouldn't make it in other cities, but for Regina it's one of the better places to take a date. Food is a little overpriced for what you get. Staff is mostly good, but I've had a couple terrible experiences as well.

Dianne Beauchamp

So glad to see they are going back to the food and drinks that they are good at. I'm very much looking forward to visiting frequently

Rae Melito

The atmosphere was fantastic for a date night or a night out with the girls and the decor is very interesting. Definitely a great place to go.

D Hector

Really great restaurant with unique menu. I love to order a selection of tapas & just skip the Main Course. During my last visit, service, although friendly, was on the slower side. Amazing place overall.

I’ve been here a few times. I usually like the vibe and drink menu. My partner and I stopped in for a drink, I ordered a negroni, not on the menu but a very standard cocktail order. I even had a negroni at bodega in December! But this time this waitress was pretty rude, she didn’t know what a negroni was and made a fuss about asking the bartender, I was pretty shocked because it’s not a weird drink to order at a supposed “cocktail” bar! I was not impressed by the service.

Bodega carries over the charm and character of papa "La" Bodega. Good place to catch up with friends and enjoy wellmade cocktails and tasty dishes. They have the classics, but there. Some exotic options on the menue that tempt you to try. On busier nights it feels like they are understaffed and the service takes a hit but overall a great place to visit. I have recently visited Bodega for lunch and unfortunately the food and service was below the standards the have for their evenings. Consistency is a big part of being a good restaurant in my opinion.

Jesse Covert-Ruttenberg

La Bodega has always been one of my favourite restaurants, but the food had been letting me down over the last several years. The new menu has restored my faith. All the dishes we had were fantastic.

Frances Kurtenbach

I miss this place so much!!!!! Best place to get fresh oysters in the city. Food is absolutely delectable.

Rainy Ren

Super adorable and over expected delicious!

Atmosphere was good, love restaurants in houses, service was good, but... Wasn't impressed with the food. Ordered a Buffalo Chicken Pizza, there was zero buffalo sauce in it. No spice at all, could only taste cheese and bland chicken. The pizza was made well other than that so willing to try them again. Willing to concede it could've been an off night.

We had the brussel sprouts, Greek chicken wings, french fries, and shrimp. The brussel sprouts we're very tasty because they had a crispiness to them that I really enjoyed. I would eat the brussel sprouts again, but unfortunately the rest of meal was underwhelming for the price. The french fries were fine, just basic Cavendish french fries that you can buy at a grocery store. The chicken wings were also just fine - they are small wings "double fried" and a bit chewy/dry. But after biting into the shrimp I found it was room temperature-cool. When I inquired with the waitress if the temperature was intentional she apologized and informed me it was supposed to be served hot. She instructed me to put the shrimp I hadn't eaten back onto the main plate. She removed the shrimp and said she'll take it back to be fixed. Then when she came back with shrimp I think it was the same bunch just microwaved. Sadly the texture was extremely rubbery and not worth the $16. Her service friendly enough through the whole experience so we still tipped. But it wasn't worth the nearly $100 bill. I won't be back it back.

2012 or so Enjoyed the beautiful ice bar that was set up in front of this place. ( special occasion) Very magical with white lights decor. Always warm atmosphere. Warm house feel and servers are like family. 2017 Feb. Enjoyed my blueberry tea with some good friends. Been here few times. Figure I leave a comment. Thanks for the prompt attention on a quite busy night. #farewellunwineCherry

Great place, Jameson is in the well for 3 bucks. Food is amazing perfect sharing place lots to choose from and there's something for everyone. Try out the duck fat popcorn if you only want to have a drink.

Jean-Marc Reynolds

OMG, forget the Bodega you know….. food are become overpriced and feel pitch in the plate. Still have x-max decoration on… ONE of the best place in Regina is gone.. and miss the old staff.

Annelise Larson

Excellent. Great atmosphere. Yummy food. Fave place in Regina for hanging out & noshing.

Brendan Minto

Honestly I loved this place. But when the DJ takes your Beer off the bar when you are not there and drinks it. After the fact then the bar tender and him joke about me asking why did he do that? Then finally the bar tender says... hey now you have a new fresh beer in a joking manner. I mean come on guys. Didn’t know you were in the habit of taking people’s drinks and drinking them yourselves.

Joshua Gudmundson

There is no reason this deserves any less then 4 stars. The staff are amazing and the food is impeccable! My girlfriend and I go at least once a month. (Plates are ~25$)

Charles Gaskin

Everything was great. The food was perfectly cooked, with flavor bursting in every bite, and the drinks were delicious.... Hopefully that didn't sound corny????

Alicia Baniulis

Food was excellent. Drinks were lovely. Service was, as always, friendly and charming.

Jeph Maystruck

The new menus is unreal (by the time you read this the menu will probably be old but still its amazing). Weekend hip hop brunch is becoming a big hit! Rumor has it they get a DJ to play, during the day!? Wild and awesome! 10/10 would eat again!

Matthew Carleton

Bodega is a Regina classic. Must haves are the patatas bravas and the street corn. They really need a better dessert menu though

Laura Kotzer

Had a rather underwhelming experience when I came to dine here with my cousin and her boyfriend. Our server was nice, but not very attentive. From what we saw she was the only person serving the entire restaurant on a Saturday evening. The three of us ordered individual items for ourselves that came out at drastically different times. The olives I ordered were not as the menu described which was kind of a bummer, I maybe had 3. Our server apologized for the wait for our food and explained that the kitchen was overwhelmed. They hadn’t even started the pizza my cousin ordered at the beginning of our meal. It’s unfortunate that we had this experience but I’m hopeful they can turn things around with more staff, more training, a fine comb through their menu, and some drastic renovations.

Jasmine St. Marie

We attended Bodega this evening, excited to try the restaurant as it was highly recommended. The atmosphere itself is very charming; however the sorely lacking front of house service takes away from this. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server took a query for a drink order to take to the bar for confirmation and never returned. After waiting 30 minutes for further service, we departed --- thirsty and hungry.

Ruby Kaur

The service was good - especially the waitress, she was super friendly! Unfortunately, the food was not great - some food was undercooked and other items were not even seasoned, it tasted only of oil. The bread and feta was the only good thing we had that night.

Christopher Kosteroski

Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. Good selection of tapas, daily specials, or they also have burger, pizza, pasta options. Excellent evening out.

Jaco van Heerden

One of my all time favourite places to eat in Regina. A great “date night” spot, amazing brunch and general good vibes. Great food and drink menus. Also, Tony is the best server and always takes good care of Erin & I. The Tuna salad is delicious. All of their pizzas are great. The steak sandwich is a good pick for lunch. I recently had the tomato soup (of the day) and it was literally the best soup I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to have it again.

Kelly Spence

New management hit it out of the park! Food was great. Service was great! Street corn- loved it. Seafood platter- loved it! Everything we ordered we enjoyed!

karen whitman

Delicious food and great vibe!

Braden Kachluba

The food is tasty but at its price point I'd say it's not really worth it, the restaurant itself could use a renovation. The staff was very friendly and the drinks are very good.

Carlene-Marie Roberts

The vegan menu options were nothing short of amazing. Staff went above and beyond to make the celebration memorable. Will be back again, sooner than later!!

Shay Nicole

Everything was great. The service, the food, the drinks... Perfect! We will be back. What a wonderful place to have right here in Regina.

David Cornelius

New menu, food was amazing and very reasonably priced! Room looks refreshed and very inviting. Service was great, very knowledgeable of the menu and attentive! Can't wait to go back!

Chris Schlamp

First time here since the reopening. We were fairly disappointed. First of all, there was no music on the deck. We had to pipe our own music in from our phones. The waitress finally clues in about 45 minutes later. The prices were very steep, and the calamari was quite soggy. That being said, our waitress was very friendly.

Beckie Balon

My spouse and I decided to go to Bodega tonight after not having been there for years. I was sorely disappointed. Having worked there 8 years ago I had high expectations. We were not greeted by anyone at the door and we sat ourselves. The waitress did not get any of my drink orders right (spiced rum ended up being Bacardi white, I asked for gold tequila and got watered down cheap white tequila) the food I ordered sounded and looked great except that the street corn was cooked way to soft and charred. I will not be coming back.

Bailey Kasko

This is one of our favourite places in Regina. The service is always great and we love the food. The beer selection is ok as is the wine selection.

Josie Gurl

Superb! The menu is not huge, but the dishes are superbly prepared and delicious. White mussels best mussels dish I have ever eaten ( and I order them everywhere). The grilled brussel sprouts were perfection. Olive tepenade was pretty fantastic too. Hubby loves smoked salmon and he thoroughly enjoyed it as well. I ordered an amazing drink called a "bandito"...which was a delicious twist on a mojito. Unique atmosphere in this old house... sit on top or below, inside or out. A favorite hidden gem in the city of Regina. You won't be disappointed!!

Margaret Oldham

We were at Bodega last night for a birthday with a party of approximately 20 people. The food was fantastic and the service was awesome! The waitress must have been very tired at the end of the evening running up and down the stairs with all our orders! She did a great job! I can't wait to go again!!

Bridget Zacharias

Went there for brunch today with a group for a birthday. We had a reservation for our group of 11. It was so disappointing! We were the only table there and it took over an hour for our breakfast. Everyone's food was soo cold (not warm...) and everyone's toast was so burnt. The brunch used to be so good ???? One person's breakfast even came out after people were done eating.

Katelynn K

The food seems to get worse every time I try to go back, which is disappointing considering that it used to be fantastic circa 2015. My partner commented that everything we ordered seemed like something we could find at safeway and microwave ourselves. The Cheez-Its on our cheeseboard really took the cake, though. Poor quality at a high price point - Definitely won't be trying it again.

Mong Yel

Was so thrilled to try this restaurant since it is part of Top 50 restaurants but was not impressed at all. Food were all bland! The focaccia bread was way too dry it will choke you up. Very disappointed. But a thumb's up for the service though

Danny Armstrong

I had a really wierd experience at this restaurant. The bartender, I think his name was Mike was telling me and all other patrons that he was the server and wanted us to wait for him but meanwhile we had an actual server who was really lovely but I guess she wasn't the server. I just feel like there is a big issue with management at this restaurant right now as there is some contradictions going on and a lot of inconsistencies. I hate saying bad things about restaurants as there is a lot of hardworking people involved but I overheard from the workers who were surprised themselves that they (bodega) take 50 percent of the tips from the servers here for primarily Covid reasons which makes no sense since there was financial help from the govt for this specific situation. The food was so so. Very small amount of food for the price. I won't be returning as there is nothing good I can say about this restaurant unfortunately.

Janine L

This is a great spot for tapas and the drink menu is fun! I've been a number of times over a few years and always had great food. I love that it's a refurbished old house. Great atmosphere.

Brandie Yeo

Great tapas and specials. Very fresh menu and cozy place. Staff are very welcoming and deliver great service.

Joshua Buse

When you arrive at what is billed as a nice restaurant you expect a hostess to greet you and then show you to your table. This was not the case here, as we milled about in the entry a server finally asked if we were there for dinner, handed us menus and directed us in the direction of the patio; should have just had a sign that says seat yourself. Our Server was very friendly, and makes me inclined to try here one more time, but the food and drinks are over priced for both quality and size. The tiny margarita was good, however the tiny lime wedge and minimal salt on the rim displays a lack of attention to its preparation. The bravas patatas side was tiny, contained a number of normal fries, sprayed with the dressing and wasn’t garnished with anything; disappointing flavour and texture. The meat in the burger was good, but the green mix placed on top contained 5 dead leaves that were brown; lack of quality control. The steak salad was a small portion for the cost, with the steak being over cooked to medium and again numerous browned greens that needed to be picked out. The hostesses lack of attention to these on the small plates she brought out indicates that better training is required to turn this restaurant from adequate to great. I had only heard good things about this restaurant but was severely let down when experiencing it in person. La Bodega is a pricy bar experience not a restaurant.

Steve B

So amazing... Great food and atmosphere, our server Amber was in training but still did an amazing job of taking care of us

Sandra MacKinnon

I have been here three times in the last two years, but only if someone else wants to meet there. There is nothing on the menu that appeals to me, it is overpriced and on the last two occasions, one of their staff has been rude. There are too many other, better options in town than to tolerate a waiter's "diva" behaviour. In future, I will be suggesting another location.

Chelsi Brisebois

They changed the menu, increased the price and downsized the tapas. Ruined my favourite place to eat. Bring the Mediterranean platter back! Also 17 bucks for literally 3 falafel and nothing else? For shame. Sad.

Ward Paterson

I am so happy Bodega is back and turning out incredible food and service again. If I am going out for dinner in Regina, Bodega is always in my top 3 choices.

Adrienne M

Personally didn't care for my food(which is fine). Not sure if our server had a crazy amount of tables or was super busy, but she never checked on us once we got our food or came back to see if we wanted more drinks. Which I guess saved us money. A slightly disappointing experience

David Bohn

5 years ago this place was a staple of ours, but the food has gone down hill. Service and atmosphere are still great though.

Sheila Forman

I have been a loyal Bodega customer for years, one of my favorites! Tonight was my first time back since they've re-opened. What a disappointment! Get some Management! I felt bad for the the 2 servers (no bartender) handling the whole place. Although, it was not very busy. 1. It took the server at least 20 mins to take our drink order. + The food came out fairly quickly and was mostly ok. Crispy dumplings were good. 2. The vegetable risotto was inedible! We each had one bite. So overpowered by truffle oil and some obnoxious herbs it was like eating a Christmas tree. And I'm not afraid of flavor. 3. Our dirty dishes sat at the end of the table for an hour and a half after we were done. We got 2 glasses of wine in 2 and a half hours. The risotto smelled so bad and they wouldn't clear the dishes. No one was around. 4. We had finally flagged someone down to order another glass of wine and dessert but after waiting another half an hour, we asked for the bill. Never did get that glass of wine. + They did take take risotto off the bill when asked but when a dish goes completely uneaten and they haven't been around to ask if there was something wrong or why it wasn't eaten that's poor. The place has no leadership and a general sense of confusion and panic. I counted 6 tables in total. Very sad. Oh and that risotto was still sitting at the end of the table when we left.

tim clinton

The new ownership makes a 100% difference! The new head chef is killing it! When you get an amazing owner and an amazing chef together, incorporate great staff, draught and wines theres really nothing that compares. In an overpopulated restuarant scene you need great all these thing and La Bodega is bringing it back!!!

chi mel

Thoroughly disappointed, took us calling the establishment for 3 days in a row just to make a reservation, which led us to assume that they were most likely busy as usual. Upon arrival the place was empty, and for a Friday night that was kind of worrying. Quickly realized why, the name is misleading, went there expecting the "La Bodega" experience and received the exact opposite. It's almost like the new management is trying to exist under the reputation of La Bodega but can't live up to the quality of food that was previously being offered. The server was friendly when we did get her attention, the food being served did not match the prices they are currently charging. Would not currently recommend this place to anyone.
