Went for the 6.00$ margaritas but it turns out those are only the on the rocks margaritas that are on special Thursdays. And when I got my margarita my cup was not quite 3/4 full, plus all ice basically. My friends got the same, except theirs was way more liquid, less ice and a full cup. But all the blended ones we got after were lovely! They put a little celery salt in the salt rim which gives it an interesting flavour profile. The paper straws last the whole margarita too. Lobster was cooked very well, not rubbery at all. Seasonal veggies were asparagus and red pepper, but I didn't get any red pepper on my plate (I hate them anyways, yay!). Our server was lovely. It was good service and good meals. So thanks. ????

Ate here last weekend and the food was so good!!! Love that the menu has expanded last just steak (as some one who doesn't eat meat). Can't remember the servers name but she was really nice and obviously knew her stuff ???? Only thing I would say is bad is I ordered the blue lemonade or whatever it's called and it was pretty bad! Tasted like soda water and some lemon juice

They have by far the best prime rib in town price might be a little high but you pay for what you get in to get a haircut and good quality steak with great service and if you have a dairy allergy they will definitely make sure that you were taken care of as long as you tell them beforehand. AKA they will your food away from any milk products and bring it out to you specially

We go here every year for birthdays anaverseries and Valentine's this time is Jan 28 2022 and my experience wasn't great first I ordered a 20 oz steak and my girlfriend ordered a 12 oz steak Chicago style and it was way too burnt all you could taste was charcoal they replaced my girlfriend's steak and give us a free desert but it was still overdone, but what really gets me is my 20 oz steak was smaller than her 12 oz steak and mine was fairly grisly I feel like things are really started to go downhill with this place I'm going back for valentine's Day and if they're just as bad I don't think I'll be going back here again which is a shame I've been going here for nine and a half years

Had a very bad reaction to a seafood dish at this Red Deer location. Ended up choking up and becoming quite distressed in the washroom with my pregnant wife by my side at our table worried sick. Two managers approached me as I exited the washroom after about 15 mins of me choking up in serious discomfort and suggested I should clear up and go. So then we waited 7mins for our bill to come around only to leave our meals and drinks half finished. We paid and left and will never return Some Real Poor Customer Service & Terrible Management.

Honestly it wasnt a horrible experience. If i was at Humptys i would have given it 5 stars but it wasnt Humptys it was the Keg. A place you only eat at once a decade with relatives because you know its gonna to be several hundred dollars but the steak and cheesecake are so good its worth waiting the 10years...right? Well not this time...the steak was tough and with more gristle then pork chops at a truck stop diner plus the 3 green beans and 2 bites of mashed potatoes didnt help either. Everything else was fine but that steak was a horrible miss and at the Keg's prices thats unacceptable. Anyway fingers crossed for a better experience in 2029 lol

I reserved a table for a large group a week a head of time at a specific time for a surprise birthday party. When we got there we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. They did not have the table ready for us for the time we reserved the table for. When we finally got seated, luckily we were put in a quiet area as it was very noisy in the resteraunt. The servers were very friendly. The lighting is very dim. Personally I didn't like how dark it was in the resteraunt as it was very dim. Once we received our appetizers and entrees, one of our friends steaks weren't cooked right. For an expensive resteraunt, that was very disappointing! They remade the meal for her which was nice, but the incident should never have occurred. Then at the end of everything, they didn't even acknowledge the birthday boys birthday which was extremely disappionting. Then when it came to payment, clearly I wasn't impressed by the service and the one female staff member acted as though she expected a tip which was very unappreciative in my perspective. FYI, both the man and women got tipped. I don't think I'll ever go there again.

We hadn't been to The Keg for a few years, thought we'd try it out for a birthday celebration. We were seated a few minutes before our reservation time, which was nice. While we waited for our guests, the wait staff was fabulous, even for a completely packed restaurant on a Saturday night. The steak was cooked well, although it was a little tougher than I had hoped for. The seafood along with the steak was excellent though, and everyone else really enjoyed their meals. It is obviously on the pricier side, but if you can afford it, it's a great place to have a special meal!

Unfortunately my party has been served nearly raw meat a second time at The Keg in Red Deer. On Saturday I took my family out for a celebratory birthday dinner. We all ordered steaks ranging from medium rare to well done. All five of us were served blue rare steaks. Two of us sent our food back to be re-heated while the remaining three were uncomfortable sending our food to be handled again due to Covid 19 concerns. The waiter agreed that the steaks were nowhere near what we had ordered. This is the second time we've been served nearly raw food from The Keg in Red Deer over the period of roughly one year. I would expect more from a meal over $400 for five people. Even Humpties would serve a better steak at a fraction of the cost.

10oz filet is the way! Always a good experience when visiting the Keg and that's what you should expect from a very successful chain such as the Keg. Very professional staff, cooks are skilled enough to pull off some of the best cooked steak in red deer and the presentation is on point, for the most part. I cannot however recommend the greens salad, it's a very lazy salad, you may actually need a knife to eat this salad.

Food was mediocre. Flavor was lacking and price was absurd. I would expect flavorful delicious food for prices like that. However service was absolutely amazing. Very welcoming and friendly. If I do go back it will strictly be for prime rib. Everything else I'd rather go to earls. Cheaper and more food options for everyone.

The steaks were very good, and although my prime rib was quite fatty, the rest of it was very tender and flavourful. The mushrooms, vegetables (zuchinni and peppers), mashed potatoes and Ceasar salad were also lovely. My husband also enjoyed his meal. I'm glad it was so enjoyable because it definitely adds up.

I have been yo this keg many times in the past, and most of the time its great, however this last time I went the quality of the new York steak was way below par. I had to discard over 1/3 the steak because of it being inedible, I will change my review of this if they right their wrong. Until then this has left a very negative review in my mind and will not return for a long while.

This is a very nice restaurant and meets my high standards that I have come to expect of The Keg. This retaurant was renovated approximately three years ago and has a much more comfortable atmosphere. As with every other Keg I have dined at, the food is of an excellent quality and the service does not dissapoint. I have dined here many times over the last four years and do not recall a single bad experience.

I went here on a Sunday evening during covid reopening phase. The host was very attentive and quickly grabbed me a table. The ambiance was typical of any other keg I've been too; it was clean, warm and upscale. My waiter greeted me promptly and offered the specials for the night. I got an old fashion which was delicious and a new York striploin which was cooked to perfection. Overall it was a great experience and I'll be coming back.

We were in for dinner this evening and what a terrible experience it was! Our server was rude and ignored us most of the night. Three of our meals came out cold, after waiting over an hour for it to come out. One of the steaks ordered was ordered a medium and came rare. When we pointed it out to our server she brought the manager over who was quite rude as well. Their solution to cold steaks and under cooked steaks was to cook new ones, that would take over 25 minutes due to a "40 top" that obviously was more important. Very unimpressed with the overall experience Thankfully the one manager did comp two of the meals, but our server would not come back to give us our bill, the manager dropped it off without a mention of anything being taken care of. Overall a very poor experience

Went to the Keg last night. Three steak and crab. and a prime rib. My steak was Chicago medium rare. Waiter asked how everything was. I said mine was a little tough for medium rare. I didn`t ask to get it replaced but no problem and said will get you a new one. A few minutes later a new steak cooked to my liking and tender. Excellent service and a jocular waiter which I like.

Oh my, it was bad. My hubby and I arrived at 4:15 which we understand can be around shift change. Either way we were directed to seat ourselves in the bar. I used the toilet and came back to our table, my husband was still sitting without a menu beside a dirty table. I asked for service and a fellah in a suit eventually gave us menus and walked away. He didn't offer any drinks, nothing. It was just so bad considering there were three staff manning the front doors and a bartender. We told them we would buy ourselves a $40 steak somewhere else when we left.

I love the Keg but it is so expensive. They have amazing steaks and seafood. It is always busy. We usually sit in the lounge so we can avoid the busy chaos of the dining room. Truly an upscale place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I once got a fatty cut of meat here and they replaced it immediately with a better one and were very apologetic about it. They know how to cook a steak so if you order medium rare, you get medium rare. Not medium or shoe leather like a lot of the other steak places around here. If their prices were cheaper we would eat here a lot more often but since it is so expensive we usually just save it for special occasions.

My wife and I were there for supper to celebrate her birthday. I had stopped by the previous day to make the reservation and leave some flowers for the table. For my 1st true dining experience in Red Deer, this venue is hard to beat. I had the 20oz Ribsteak (Bone-in ribeye), which was a thick sliced very tender cut with their Canadian steak seasoning, and nicely accompanied with grilled mushrooms/vegetables & fries ($41CA). One of the best steak choices for the price. Service is outstanding, attentive, and all the staff was professionally & attractively dressed. Our waitress was very well-mannered, a good conversationalist and helpful about area attractions. Entrees, drinks, etc. arrived in a reasonable amount of time after ordering despite being a crowded Wednesday night. We sat at the bar area rather than wait 30 minutes for a "table" (we still had a table & seating in the bar area). Definitely a great place for steaks and one which I will always plan for when in Red Deer in business.

Worst service I've ever experienced. Numerous times a member of our table had to get up and ask a server to find ours. Items were forgotten and then arrived after everything else was finished. We sat in the lounge hoping to have a nice evening with good service and she was horrid. She should go back to the basics of serving and be on the restaurant side, or find another career, because this is definitely not for her and she is hurting the business of that place. Will never go back to red deer keg.

I went to the keg for valentines dinner, even though my two last experiences weren't very good and I can honestly say I will never go back again. The servers are good but the food is very disappointing. I held back judgement because I've always heard good things about the Keg and just thought I went on an off night.. but after 3 visits, two of them making me violently sick, and all 3 being disappointing.. I wanted to leave a review. The food was cold when it came to the table, it wasnt cooked properly (I did send it back to be cooked more), and later in the evening I was super sick again, almost as though to have food poisoning. Also, their were people dining in pajama pants which doesnt go with the "high end" restaurant atmosphere they try to portray. I only mention this because each time we go, our bill is nearly $200, in order to justify spending that on a meal, the Keg should do better. If you're looking for a good steak dinner in Red Deer, I recommend Tiffany's because the food is always delicious and its considerably less expensive.

Excellent service. We decided to do appetizer and meals this evening. The baked garlic shrimp were absolutely perfect, as expected. My husband's steak was cooked to perfection as well as his lobster, the steak with my salad was also perfect. We had casually mentioned it was our anniversary when our server first welcomed us and didn't think anything of it, and at the end of the meal were given a free Billy Miner Pie for dessert (our server said normally they would have given us champagne, but that wasn't an option because I'm pregnant). Really pleased with our experience, will make a point of coming back sooner rather than later!

Great steak! Terrible ceasars. Edit: Came in after being told that there were no reservations in the lounge as it's first come first serve. Got a booth and sat down. No reservation sign or anything. After about ten minutes someone came up and told us that we had to move because the table was reserved and he put a reserved sign down. We'd already ordered drinks! Come here pretty frequently but I was pretty rattled by this experience.

Great restaurant to have a nice celebration dinner at or even a romantic night out, great selection of different dining options on the menu ranging from seafood to steak dinners or both at the same time. So I tried to bring my son here for a nice meal and couldn't believe how disrespected I was!! The 2 hostesses pretty much ignored us until I rudely commented Is anyone going to acknowledge us?? The blonde hostess said she was busy writing on her board, and the other one answered the phone. Other guests came and we're politely acknowledged!! After waiting 15 mins and walked out, and the waitress said oh well seat you now, and I don't bother, you've made me feel like I'm not high class enough, and told her I'd spend my money elsewhere!!! And now we're at the La Casa Pergola enjoying an amazing meal!!!

Atrocious service multiple times at this place. Never going back. Ordered a take out meal timed specific as I was extremely busy and had to pick it up on time. After waiting 10 minutes for the hostess to go back and get my order the cook came out and said he wanted to 'confirm what I had since someone lost the bill.' Then was told it would be 3-4 minutes more, obviously because they completely forgot. Amazing they can cook a steak and potato in 3-4 minutes from scratch but they can't cook one when given an hour to do so. The second time I was sitting in the bar with a friend and when asked by the visibly apathetic server what I wanted to drink and me asking what kind of beers they had, her reply was 'ohhhh, too many to mention.' Customer service is already really bad in Red Deer; this place is a shining example.

Not the same as before. Steak was very poor quality and unseasoned. Lobster was rubber. This seems to be a trend for restaurants right now as they seem to be using lower quality to increase margins due to the prolonged Covid shutdowns. Service was excellent.

Great food, great staff, a little too loud and crowded for a Keg restaurant. It might be because it is the only one in Red Deer and a popular spot for the locals. Either way, if you have steak, which is why most people visit this establishment, try the whisky peppercorn sauce, I really enjoyed it.

Very tasty food. The Keg is on the pricey end of the scale but good quality. Our server was good. Unfortunately there was a a crowd in the lounge who were very loud watching a basketball game dropping the occasional F-bomb. Kind of ruined the atmosphere unfortunately. That would be a one-off however and won't affect us returning as it can happen anywhere.

Have been to this restaurant many times in past 7 yrs . Always had great service and consistent food . Tonight we visited for my wife's birthday . Appies arrived and did not see a server till we had finished them . Did not have opportunity to order another drink or wine . Our wine order was taken when the entrees arrived and showed up when we had finished most of our meal . Very disappointing .

I have been going to the keg in Red Deer for years and it always has great food, service and drinks. It is always really busy but you can now book a table online which is a great option to ensure you have a table ready when you arrive. Otherwise you could he waiting over an hour to wait and get into the restaurant side.

The service was excellent, the food was awesome. And as usual they know how to cook your steak to the way you order it. They are very concerned with making sure your steak and food are done exactly the way you want it. The wine choices are good and they mix the drinks to your satisfaction. Only suggestion. Take the few minutes earlier in the day to make a reservation. It's a very popular restaurant because they do such an awesome job. With a reservation at the most you wait only a few minutes. You can get reasonably priced meals here but it can easily get up over 100 per couple with the wine. Personally I think everything is in proportion. Most places can hit 80 these days any way. May as well go to a place that is the best at it! We always come away pleased!

This was my first time at The Keg and I was not disappointed! I had the special , filet mignon wrapped in bacon with shrimp and scallops. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. Our server Ashely was gave us outstanding service and was very pleasant. I will be back! ????

The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 was because multiple things, whether apps or mains had to be sent back because it was not what was ordered (steak was undercooked, food was cold, ect) but the staff was AMAZING and our waitress was so kind and caring, the manager felt bad and offered free desserts! I highly recommend going here, as the food (after fully heated/cooked) was FANOMANAL definitely coming back again ????

Went for dinner last night..the server was wonderful..but that was the only good thing about our visit..close to an hour after being seated we got our meals.. ordered medium well steaks..they came out rare..sent them back to have them corrected..came back medium rare..sent back a third time only to have a manger to rudely ask me to check to make sure it was done to my liking..by then it was well done and like rubber...tried to eat it but it was terribly burnt..they took the steak off the bill but still charged me for the bernaise and blue cheese crust that i didn't get to eat because i had no steak to go with it..the manager/chef seemed to be irritated each time he approached our table...the keg is normally my go to for a nice dinner but this has left such a bad taste in my mouth I won't be back for a while.

During Covid we did a call to order food for takeout, and selected an available pickup time. Didnt know how good food would be for takeout but wanted to try it anyway. We were pleasantly surprised it was the same great quality, taste and service the Keg is known for. Thank you very much to the staff for serving up such a great meal and great service. We have been celebrating our anniversary at the Keg the last 25+yrs and have never had a bad experience here.

Decided to go out for a nice dinner last night as we normally love the keg due to consistently and high quality. The service was amazing. The first order of calamari was sent back due to being way over cooked like chewing on a dried rubber band the second order came out way better but still not what we’re used to getting. The mains we picked were the oven roasted chicken and the ribs they both lacked flavour and seasoning it was like eating bare meat the chicken was very bland and the sides amounted to nothing, the ribs barely had any sauce and zero seasoning the meat was tender but a huge disappointment for what were used to and a 130$ bill in the end. Something has defiantly changed and the quality has gone down a substantial amount.

The food was pretty tasty! But our party of 7 waited 50 min for 1 salad and 3 small veggie platters and 2 sourdough loafs. Then anther 45-50 for our meals. The steaks we're not all cooked properly, thankfully the taste was there. We were also informed that in 15 minutes another reservation was there and our table was needed (maybe if the "appetizers" and entrées CE a bit faster) we still wanted dessert, those sure came out a lot quicker. The mocha cake was excellent and the crème brulé was decent but the top could have been torched a little bit more. The food was pretty tasty but for the price and service, or lack there of there are much better restaurants in town. Like Earl's, the Ranch House or especially the Westlake grill at heritage ranch.

We dined here twice and we're extremely pleased. Excellent food and awesome servers. Monday we went with friends to celebrate our new job and a b'day. The server was great but my meal not so great. I ordered filet and lobster tails. The lobster was mushy and the butter was bland. I actually brought the steak and one lobster tail home. We were using a gift card our grandchildren gave us. Huge Disappointment Hopefully it will be a better experience next time if there is a next time

The Keg was my actually first job ever in 2013. I've succeed to get a job without any help of the disabilities services. I expect to be the same experience in my college non-profit job; nope 4 boss they already have dishwasher, complicated schedule & way too long from my previous home also unsupportive to disability community. Always like the keg. Last night wasn't the greatest for food. Mushrooms Neptune was really fishy tasting, three of us ordered the losbter tails, they were cold and mushy, my husbands were really pink..? they now give you little tiny tails what happened to the nice bigger ones?? The butter is always so cold!! We asked for hot butter it was still cold didn't even heat up the lobster. The asparagus was so skinny and dried out.. tired of franchise restaurants, time to support local ones.

Great food. Great service. We sat in the lounge and had appys and drinks. Our waitress was awesome, don't remember her name though. The most impressive thing though was that she noticed a customer at one of her other tables was not enjoying her drink so she offered to get her something else and didn't charge the customer foe the original drink. I've never seen a server do this before! Amazing customer service.

Love the food at the Keg...it’s always very tasty! Staff is very friendly and service is top notch! Servers were all smiling and hustling. The kitchen manager (W) was super friendly and made us feel very welcomed...unlike the hostesses...???????? they weren’t very welcoming nor did they acknowledge us when we left the restaurant. They were just standing talking to each other. For a fine dining restaurant, first impressions are everything!!! The two that were upfront tonight sure didn’t look like they wanted to be there. Perhaps hosting isn’t the job for them!????

My students were kind to give me a gift card for the Keg having worked so hard for them. So we went for a family dinner and ended up getting hot water poured on my wife, a rare steak when I wanted medium well. By the time they ask how it was it was to late to ask if I wanted it cook as I asked for in the first place as our meal was almost done. I only could eat a third of it before I was disgusted by how rare it was. I bought the most expensive steak and it never even came close to how I wanted it; and offering us a free desert instead was an insult. Should have have paid for the steak! With the price you pay one expects better quality. The server was way too apologetic twice would have sufficed not five times. In the end it was not a good experience and will be the last time we will go to the Keg for over priced food. Mr. Mikes next time.

Picked up Takeout tonight and was disgusted in what you get for $89.00. Between 2 orders; 6 pieces of zucchini and 4 pieces of peppers for the vegetable portion, 5 pieces each?? Mushroom caps aren’t even a full mushroom, more like 1 mushroom cut up into 6 pieces. So a piece of steak, 5 pieces of vegetables, and a small Caesar salad, $38. ??? RIP OFF!! Pay higher prices for way less food…???? will never eat there again.

Went there for a birthday dinner, our server was AMAZING the rest not so great, we got our appetizers in a very short time but when it came to our meals it took over an hour from the time we ordered to when we got our food.They told us one of the baked potatoes had dropped on the ground so they had to make a new one.. which things happen so totally understandable. When we finally got our meals all the steak was over cooked and very rubbery, (we felt all the other dinner plates were sitting under the heat lamp this whole time) and the baked potato that they were cooking was VERY undercooked and still hard. We were very disappointed with the quality of food we had just spent $300 on. We did get a free desert for this but it doesn’t fix the quality of food.

Could get a better steak for a 1/4 of the price at my local pub. Filet mignon & veggies were burnt, steak was tough. Couldn’t find the bacon it was wrapped in. Not worth the money when you’re spending close to $50 for a meal at the “prestigious keg”. The keg or least this keg doesn’t live up to the “hipe”. Don’t go! Don’t waste your money!! Very Disappointing!!

Always long wait times even with reservations. Everything feels rushed. They're trying to push as many people through as possible, but are sacrificing quality. My 40 dollar steak tasted like lighter fluid. I let my server know I was dissatisfied and he chose to ignore my comments. I came home and wrote an email to their head office which also was ignored. Terrible customer service and over priced food.

The red deer Keg is one of the best Kegs! I have eaten at some different Kegs in other places. Nothing compared to the Red Deer. FOOD has always been consistent in quality.
