Great atmosphere and very, very good service. The food was very delicious and has a homemade feel to it. Every single thing on my plate was finished and every single thing on there was amazing. The server, Wanda, was on top of things. She refilled drinks without asking and often came back to check on us. I'm very happy with my experience with the Ranch House.

We come here quite often and I have to say the food is AMAZING! Everything is always very well prepared and delicious. The prices are more than reasonable, You get a lot of food and you don’t have to spend big bucks to achieve that which I love. My steak has always been cooked right every time I’ve come and the stuffed potatoes are amazing especially the optional toppings you can get for it. The staff here are always friendly and very acknowledgeable. We will always keep coming back here for our date night. This is our go to restaurant in all of Red Deer. I can’t point out any negatives.

Had a reservation for a birthday party. ( 10 of us) Was seated promptly then waited 45 min for a drink, appies slow to order and arrive, we then ordered and was 2 hr before we finish our soup and salad which was part of the special and which was sadly less than satisfying. ( Soup was finished in 2 spoon fulls with nothing but a few noodles and broth.) We watched other tables come in and order and leave. Granted we were not in a rush but the drinks where slow to arrive as well. I understand they are busy, and was hoping the service etc would pick up but sadly was disappointed. Food came up everyone had cool to Luke warm veggies. Sadly I have to leave this review and hope they can repair the problem as the food the first time I came was respectable.

Not bad, not great. The service was amazing but there was hair in my food... drinks were good but steak was cut for a sandwich not a meal... Cozy environment but soup was cold and the salad was warm...Calamari was like rubber onion rings but a wide selection on the menu... Expected a lot more from a steak house and was a bit disappointed with this experience. The server tried her best to help with issues but she can only do so much with poor kitchen operations.

Consistently a good meal here! I like the atmosphere in the lounge or dining area. Good for families and large groups - however it can get noisy during busy times and can't hear the whole group. The burgers are well priced and paired with a stuffed potato or other side is totally worth the $13.95. I will often get the chicken and ribs or the steak and prawns special. The only disappointment I have is when they used frozen veggies as their side - but that seems to be infrequent. No idea how the drinks or dessert are, but the entrees and burgers are amazing and well worth the drive to the north end of town!

What a wonderful dining experience. The food was absolutely amazing, from the starters, to the soup to the entree!! Everything was flavorful and great portions. Our server Nickolaos was supremely excellent. Didnt hover, push or be too much, we never had to ask for water refills. The cocktails were delicious, the prices amazing. Definitely a 5 + ⭐ experience. Amazing service. Incredible speed and especially on Valentine's Day. The server didn't seem upset about working that day either, and was very enthusiastic about his job. As for the menu, the prices haven't changed a dime in over 15 years! Seafood is the exact same price as any other dish on the menu, unlike being marked up at most other restaurants. The steak sandwich is only $12.99, and comes with plenty other food. There are no extra add ons for their dishes, everything is already included. The atmosphere is very cozy and feels more private. The booths give plenty of space for obese people and provide great comfort all around. Tables are clean and all of the servers are organized (don't need to run).

Whether it's for lunch or supper, the lounge or the restaurant, I've never been disappointed in the meal, the portions, or the value. We had our daughter's wedding rehearsal here a couple of years ago, and they looked after the 25 or 30 of us extremely well, while looking after all the other patrons at the same time. Puts places like The Keg to shame.

First rule of waiting tables; keep drinks full. This turned out to not be the case. While the wait staff were pleasant, they were conspicuously absent. The food leaves plenty to be desired; frozen vegetables steamed to goo, burned potato, and mediocre steak. The starter soup was fine. The decor is very small town steakhouse. I've certainly had worse, but I made that slop myself.

We were a large group and (13people) and food came in a decent amount of time.... And food.... It was excellent!!! Everything was divine!!! They have daily specials such as Steaks and seafood. Very good deal. The sirloin was a bit tough. My steak that evening was under season .... very blend. Had to added salt and pepper to the steak, but the flavor of the beef with the char was good and cooked to my liking medium rare. The stuffed potato was very good. Super creamy and baked to perfection. Soup was good but the salad was mediocre... taste like store pre made salad. Service was very professional always made sure we are happy with our food.

We went there for a steak. They had a great selection of steaks; cuts, sizes, flavours. I had the teriyaki New York. It was delicious! The plate size was huge, the waitress was wonderful. They even gave me a side of Yorkshire pudding! I was so excited! Definitely going back for steak.

The one star on this review applies solely to the server we had on our outing at the Ranch House last night. I arrived shortly after 4:30 p.m., and there was not a single vehicle in the parking lot. This should have been my first clue. The server was attentive enough, and the drinks were cold. Beyond that, I was sorely disappointed. I opted for the Chicken Cordon Bleu, as it's not a dish I regularly make at home. It was bedded on a tablespoon of mushroom sauce (with literally 3 shriveled dry mushroom slices in it), overcooked, and quite hard to cut into. There was no cheese left to be found within the main course, as normally prepared. The chicken was accompanied by a handful of severely freezer burnt green and yellow beans, and baby carrots. The stuffed potato, once you broke through the crust, was the only edible item on the plate. Needless to say, I sent my meal back, after maybe 3 bites of trying to find the cheesey goodness I sought in the main dish, which never did appear. My other half, ordered the New York Strip, and splurged to add the Neptune to his meal. To this point, I'm still not sure what he received for meat, as it appeared to be boiled, leaving a filmy, murky, grey liquid to flood his plate. His "steak" was also accompanied by the same array of freezer burnt vegetables. Let me tell you, this guy never complains. He eats everything. So you can imagine my shock when he threw in the towel on this meal. Our collective bill neared $70.00. When we approached the front to see what the outcome of the damage would be, after only consuming the starter soup and salad, and a few bite of each dish, we were, for lack of a better word, "attacked" by a woman, who raised her voice at us, and rudely said " Nothing was wrong with your meal! There was butter, and cheese, and nothing was wrong! So you pay for it!" I said "Well yes, something was wrong, and also the vegetables were freezer burnt". To which she replied "Those just come in this morning! You pay for everything!" The server, bless her heart, looked to this woman and asked if she could comp our drinks. To which this woman replied "NO! NOTHING! THEY PAY FOR EVERYTHING." Then she waved her hands in our faces and disappeared into the kitchen. Clearly, we will not return. And I will be sure to pass this unfortunate story onto others. Save your money. You'll receive better food at the adjacent McDonalds, I'm sure of it. Not to mention a little more respect from management. And to our server, thanks for trying, and best of luck to you.

We decided to try a different steakhouse in Red Deer. What a mis-STEAK. Ordered the 12oz New York strip Neptune. Came with a giant 12” black hair on it. I cut the steak in half before sending back to ensure a new steak would be cooked. The entire group had finished their meals before I received a new meal. The entire bill was 350$. The compensation..... free pop. Have not returned.

Went for lunch, service was prompt and courteous. I ordered the 8 oz striploin which came with vegetable soup and salad to start. The soup was bland but hot, the salad and house dressing was boring and heavy on the balsamic but fresh. The steak was unevenly cooked and my rare steak was med well around the outside and maybe med rare in the very centre, the carrots, cauliflower and broccoli was overcooked but ok. I didn't complain to the server since I was in a hurry and just really wanted a steak for lunch..

The waitress was superb and that was where it ended. The food was terrible. Frozen vegetables that were steamed to mush. The steak Neptune was not real crab and the hollandaise sauce was split (butter separated from the egg) looking like a greasy curdled mess on top of the steak. Lamb chops tasted like they were frozen and not tender. The mint jelly was NOT mint jelly, it looked like lime jello and tasted like feet. The restaurant needs to update the menu and the decor. If you want that 80's steakhouse feel with hospital food this Is the place for you.

Ordered a 16 oz T-Bone (34.95), it turned out to be 1/4 inch to 1/2 an inch thick (honestly looked like a sale steak from a discount grocery) and over cooked. I spoke to the manager, he explained that was the correct weight and it was the best he could do, he said he would take it off the bill then asked what what I would like instead. The second steak (NY Strip) was well cooked and 2 inches thick and not bad - it took 15 to 20 mins to arrive. By this time my guest had finished eating and I ate alone while they watched. At the end of the meal when the bill arrived I was a little shocked to find the second steak on the bill at full price - no discounts given for my experience. Overall I will stick to restaurants that believe when you spend 40 dollars on a steak the service should be above average and the steak something that you can't buy at a discount grocery

Prime rib is basically pot roast quality, bland and stringy. Sides are are truck stop grade. Not worth the high prices. Appetizers are the premade style from a supplier. Flavorless and tasted old.

Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. She did a very excellent job of managing the flow of our dinner from start to finish. I had prime rib with a side of peppercorn sauce. The prime rib came on the more extreme side of rare for a medium/rare request. But in my books that is better than overcooked and I could have requested it to be cooked a bit more. The peppercorn sauce has a bit of kick and is the best I've had since Joe's Warehouse in Sydney Nova Scotia. This is a restaurant I would recommend. Not high end/ expensive but good value for the money. It does not take reservations that I know of. 4 stars because there is always room to improve

Not batting in the same league as The Keg. The food was OK (the steak was good), the service mediocre. It's not terrible, but felt more like a kind of upscale ABC Country House than a good place for a nice date. Bring your kids, it has a "family restaurant" feel.

The food here was really good. Steaks were seasoned well. Prices are a little on the high side. Our server was great. Nice cozy atmosphere. The bus boy was a little slow clearing off tables so the wait was a little longer than it should have been.

One of the best dining experiences in a very long time. I had the pleasure of introducing my taste buds to an explosive variety of wonderful flavors that were extremely well put together. Service was prompt knowledgeable and very welcoming. Although the signage outside could be updated the interior is extremely warm and intimate combined with succulent well plated fare this is a must if you appreciate fine dining at a reasonable price. You get what you pay for and then some. Five stars! Two thumbs way up!

Checked the Menu online, looked pretty good. Decided to drive from Edmonton To Red Deer to check it out. restaurant opened at 4:30 PM Saturday. we arrived same time. got seated immediately and was greeted by the server almost immediately. The server was extremely Knowledgeable about the entire menu and allergens. Wife and mother-in-law are celiac. the waiter was able to accommodate their needs easily. I myself, had the steak and prawns special. was thoroughly impressed with the entire menu and prices. The owner and Staff were extremely friendly, the food was fantastic. the restaurant was very comfortable. I recommend this restaurant to anybody. Will make the Drive over and over again to enjoy this great food.

Succulent & tender prime rib, served with nicely-done Yorkshire & very mild creamy horseradish. Superb sweet potato fries but dipping sauce needed more kick. Would have liked a few more veggies. Suggest clear marking on menu items that are gluten-free or dairy-free.

The menu is more than just steak. Each entree includes a full salad or a full size soup or a small serving of each as an appetizer. The steaks are a good size and topped with a variety of choices seafood or mushrooms. Their steaks are very tender and flavourful. The deserts were a wonderful closer to a great meal. We enjoyed the cheesecake.

I found this restaurant at the north end of Red Deer. I was amazingly surprised. The decor, ambience, Costner service and the menu choices were excellent . My server recommended the steak sandwich but I asked about the veal cutlet and was advised that it was one of their top choices as well. Have to say it was excellent. It came with a huge side of veggies, garlic bread and some watermelon slices. I will be back again. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank for excellent food and customer service

We have been extremely regular customers for quite some time now. The food has always been excellent along with the service. The daily lunch steak sandwich is a terrific deal. However, the one time we experienced that our steak was extremely over done. As we did not have time to wait for new ones to be cooked we explained this to our server. Instead of having the manager, which I have never experienced before, our server was running back and forth communicating with the manager. I have never not had a manager come and talk to us if something was not quite right as that is part of their job handling customer complaints not the servers job. It also angers the customer into not leaving a tip which is hardly fair to their server.

ZERO STARS!! I didnt have a choice I had to put 1 star but if there was an option...Get a chef that knows how to cook a steak! the first one was medium rare and the veggies were luke warm and after sending that steak back and requesting another it was also medium rare. sent it back as by this point I was done! I asked my steak to be medium well! Then they left it on the bill. We went at 5pm and didnt get out of there until 6:40. Our waitress didnt even bother to ask us if we wanted another drink! Will NOT EVER go back and will definitely be telling everyone not to bother.

Snotty and rude. We wanted to buy a gift certificate to the Ranch House, for a gift. I called and was told they have them. We don't live in Red Deer, but my husband drove in to get one. The person working wouldn't even help him. They just said go buy a Visa gift card, it will be good enough. If we wanted to buy a visa gift card, we would have... In our own town, and saved a trip. But I guess that card can be used to support a business with decent customer service instead.

If I could rate this lower than 1 I would, we hadn't been here before so we took our 6 kids with us and when we arrived my husband ran in to check and ask if we could be accommodated and if they were kids friendly...well if the only thing about your restaurant that is "kid friendly" is the change table in the washroom...you need to rethink what your idea of kid friendly is, there is no kids menu which if I was aware of before we started ordering I would have left, anyway we ordered appetizers for our kids since that was the cheapest and smallest meal alternative, so meatballs we decided on 4 plates of them they were pretty much almost black and when we brought it to attention because my kids are good eaters and out of 40 meatballs they ate 7 between them we were told by our server that the boss said they were fine and not overcooked and dry at all, and that he was only going to take one order off of our total bill, then I ordered my food that came with "soup and salad" well there was only one kind of soup and so I opted to just have salad and it came and right away it looked unappealing, if I was in an Asian restaurant I might expect bean sprouts in my food but in a salad at a "ranch house?" quite weird, not to mention the piece of bread with garlic on it that was meant to be "garlic toast" it was completely untoasted, also there was a hair in my food and my husband didn't touch his salad either and he ordered the beef and Yorkshire pudding meal and had like 3 bites, we didn't complain about anything else since the blow off with the first complaint we figured it was a waste of time, the only positive thing at this restaurant tonight was the server she was fantastic, very attentive and quick to replace drinks and remove plates etc, other than that the best thing about this meal was the mints we got at the end with the bill.... definitely would not go again and I would not recommend it to my worst enemies...

My wife and I have gone every weekend to have our Friday night date past 18 years and birthdays and anniversaries and since the new restrictions with the vaccinations we have been going at least 3 or 4 times my wife had her vaccination passport tonight but didn't have her driver's license with her they wouldn't let us go in I had my license and passport I thought since we are regulars there and have shown it to them repeatedly in the last month it would be okay but it wasn't
