On our trip home from Alaska to the US, we were looking for something outside of the normal fish and chips type food. Heavy D’s BBQ has freshly prepared, unique dishes full of flavor at a reasonable price. The owner/chef takes pride in preparing everything with fresh ingredients. My husband ordered the spicy chicken platter and I got the pulled pork with chipotle sauce and slaw. Both were delicious. We shared a plate of falafel, which was very good as well. This is a restaurant that shouldn’t be missed, whether you’re passing through town or if you are a local resident! Great food and friendly service.

This was my second time here, the first I tried the falaffel wrap, which tasted healthy and fantastic if you're into earthy flavours. This trip I took my whole family, including my 3 picky children, and between us we tried everything on the menu and loved every bite. We will be back over and over and over. Thank you so much!! Heavy Ds is an experience like no other. When you enter inside you are greeted by a Heavy man who then cooks your food to perfection. Mouth watering pulled pork sandwiches crafted by a god, once the food goes down you’ll be in the washroom for a couple hours creating a beautiful mess in the toilet. Heavy Ds for you and me baby.

Tried out the Greek burger and it lacked flavor and seasoning. The portion was amazing a lot for one person. They are known for their pulled pork and I didn’t try that one. The falafels were pretty decent as well.

Outstanding Lebanese food. Fresh, real food made by a man who is loving what he is doing from the bottom of his heart. The Pulled Pork Sandwich is for sure the best in Quesnel! And the Shawarma Platter is the best I have eaten so far in Canada. Nothing pre packed. Everything is fresh. You may dine in at this really nice place, order online or via phone to pick it up or have it delivered. His menu is authentic and you can see from the size of his menu that everything is made fresh for you! Oh yes... he is doing catering and you may have a private party in the restaurant.

Just giving my honest opinion here. I got a chicken donair and was expecting it to be on donair bread, not a tortilla! This is a chicken wrap, not a donair. Also it was doused is sauce, like dripping. Some people might like that but I did not, it was too much. Otherwise it tasted pretty decent.

Our friends who live in town told us about Heavy D's and we were trying to decide between the "safe" choice Mr Mike's, and a couple other places we have been to before. We're super glad we ended up choosing Heavy D's BBQ. I am currently so full of food I can hardly walk, the portions here are all definitely shareable. And the prices are incredibly reasonable. The owner is really a treat in himself, very entertaining and creates a fun entertaining atmosphere. We'll be eating here again for sure!

Amazing food, huge portions! Prices are moderate but not cheap - absolutely worth it once you see the portion sizes. Food is cooked to order and the chef is close - he often visists with customers and checks on how the food is received etc. He is very involved, either from behind the window in the kitchen making loud jokes as he puts food up, or out visiting his guests and checking on the food. Kids meal portions are large too, and the kitchen is considerate of getting kids food out as fast as possible. One of our family has Celiac disease and the chef worked with us to identify the best thing he could make for her that was completely gluten free. During our visit he brought out a free sampler of a new dish he is working on - pulled pork stuffed into a pastry and baked, it sort of looks like a chubby taco. One of the most unique restaurants in Quesnel.

Has potential, but something was missing. The flavors on the pulled pork sandwich were great My spicy sandwich must have been mis-ordered since it was milder than school Christmas play. Again, the flavors are all there but a toasted bun would have made this sandwich 10 times better so the sauce didn't soak into the bun.

I ordered the perogies which was wonderfully done. The dish came with chicken bites which was juicy and great seasoning to it which reminds me of Lebanese type of food and the pulled pork was just off the charts fantastic. This was the first time ever that the advertised picture, which was great and lured us in, did not do justice to the phenomenal food! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and it was easily double if not triple the size of the picture in the menu and the flavor was absolutely fantastic! The beef donair I had was at least 2 lbs and delicious! Add to that the great decor and ambiance, and off course Heavy D's larger than life personality, and you have a great place. For us, this place alone will make it worthwhile to drive up from Williams Lake on occasion.

We were down to Quesnel for a wedding and were looking for something fast but still good for us. Heavy D's was conveniently located so we gave it a shot. We have a small toddler that was hungry and being a bit curious and the owners were so wonderful to him. They gave him some balloons and some treat as well as taking care of his meal which they absolutely did not have to do but it was such a kind gesture we were touched. My husband and I got the legendary pulled pork sandwich and it was so much food we shared it with our family. The food is incredible. The service and kindness of these people is something even more incredible. This place deserves so much respect and support from the community. Next time we visit we will definitely be back. Thanks you for being a great example of family values Heavy D's.

Amazing Lebanese food!!! My parents are both Lebanese and I ate authentic Lebanese food my whole life. Heavy D's knows how to make good, authentic Lebanese food! I've tried his chicken shawarma and falafel and both were excellent! He preps everything daily and does not cheap out on portion sizes! You gotta try it!

My wife enjoyed a traditional Lebanese coffee today and I had the good fortune of having some amazing beef brisket before as they had sold out of pulled pork. You won’t be disappointed.

We were greeted by all the staff when we walked through the doors, it felt like coming home. It was Friday night which meant BBQ Ribs, OMG! They were so good, falling off the bone, tender! The meal is 2 can dine for $30.00, you get warm pita bread with tzatziki, a choice of 3 salads and a platter each with Mediterranean rice and a huge rack of ribs each! We didn't have room for dessert, which look delicious. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, the newly renovated restaurant is fantastic! Vegan, Gluten Free and Keto options available.

They always have great food! I don't usually like coleslaw and would rather throw it in the garbage than even taste it, but their coleslaw in their Pulled Pork Sandwich is absolutely great. It's actually changed my mind on coleslaw. The serive is just as great as their food. The owner is nice. He had thought our food was late and felt bad so gave us 2 free soda and apologized profusely. He also loves helping out the local community on many occasions. For instance he helped a old lady who had her money stolen and he helped raise money and donated some of his personal money as well. Driving through on the way to Prince George from California. Parents wanted Dairy Queen but I saw Heavy D's along the way. Glad I chose Heavy D's. Got the spicy pulled pork sandwich with onion rings. It was excellent. Pork was tender and juicy. The huge ciabatta roll held up well sopping up all juices. The onion rings were good, I tried the tzatziki sauce with em, I liked it too. Folks in there were very kind. Great service and great food!

Not what the reviews promised: store purchased buns, mediocre coleslaw, pulled pork from a Crock-Pot flavoured with sauce not smoke. Nothing about this place felt authentic and the food was disappointing. Only the server, who was preparing the food in Heavy-Ds absence, made the event feel special. The review hype makes no sense.

Placed an order at 1042AM for pickup at 345PM. Arrived at 347PM and waited until 418 PM to get order. One person on site to take orders, cook, serve, clear tables and act as cashier. Owner was not on site. Takes all calls on personal mobile phone and does not efficiently relay orders to staff. My order had not been started as the young woman on site was too busy doing everything. Food quality was good. Despite that, I am extremely unlikely to patronize this restaurant anytime soon (if ever again). If you plan on going here, be prepared for lengthy delays unless the proprietor improves staff scheduling and communication with staff when he is not on site.

Happened to be in Quesnel on business and had read reviews on this restaurant. Decided to stop in for lunch and it did not disappoint. I ordered the senior sized Pulled Pork (smaller option portion) and it was big and delicious! The buns are homemade and totally amazing. Service was steller and the gal was super nice. I went to Heavy D's BBQ later in the evening. I order a chicken platter 'to go' with a few minor modifications for my Gluten Allergy. The box was filled to top and when I ate it 15 minutes later (the food cooled a bit) the chicken was still moist and the balance of the items were still delicious. I would definitely visit again. Next time I will eat at the restaurant as the owner seems like a pretty cool fellow to talk to.

I haven't lived here that long, but as far as I've tasted, heavy d's really does have the best pulled pork in Quesnel. The food was great and staff very friendly and welcoming. The owner (who's name I didn't catch) even chatted through the kitchen with us and told us why he started the buisness. Glad we requested spicy, they were definitely not too hot, just right so that the tzatzki had welcome coolness even with the pronounced garlic. Dan came around at meal end and offered us each a sample of Lebanese baclava - Wow, very nice. $27 before tip for the two of us, good value! Very friendly service on a quiet evening. Glad it was quiet as only two tables have chairs, the rest of the seats are stools without backs.

Tried this amazing establishment a couple weeks ago and I've been back twice since. Most amazing pulled pork I've ever eaten, and the portion size is unbelievable! Everything is so fresh - and all prepared to order. Despite these facts, the food arrives surprisingly quickly. Add to this the the friendliness of the staff, and we have a top-notch eatery on all counts. We are so fortunate to have this place - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I ordered a Pulled pork Sandwich on the menu it tasted great had just enough spice to it. enough that it was spicy but not to much that it would turn my stomach. the photo had a round bun but mine was square a little off from the photo but the taste was really good. I like the atmosphere in the place as well it was simple but was design in a way that felt different and pulled me in off the street with just a glance. I may have to return to try a few more of those menu items. the Chef took your order was very friendly and food was served very quickly. I took the order to go.
