My wife and I had the opportunity to enjoy this location recently. The service was welcoming and even though I speak French they were able to provide my wife an English menu. We ordered a filet lignin and sirloin, both medium-rare, and they were AMAZING! Easy to cut and made with care and attention. The sides were also done to perfection. We will come here again next time we’re in Québec.

There is even a friend who asked that we bring his steak back to the kitchen to remove the burnt so much it was not edible. In addition, the meat tasted completely. I am very disappointed because the restaurant was highly recommended to me and it was a birthday (Original) J’ai aimé l’endroit et le service était vraiment bien mais tous nos steaks étaient brûlés (une table de 10) C’est la première fois que je vois un steak medium brûlé. I ordered that day's specials. The appetizer was pretty tasty; however; the entree was mediocre and cold. It was a shrimp & lobster sandwich with salad and homemade potato chips. The chips were good, but the salad was wilted. The waiter seem friendly, but I can sense it was a challenge for him to speak English as I was just a tourist visiting the area (and trying to practice French). I understood so I gave him a fairly good tip. However, I can't say much about the middle-aged office dudes sitting across from me who heard me speak in English when I placed my order. I understand a tiny bit of French so I overheard them cracking jokes and "that I should speak in French!" (btw they said that last bit in English). It wasn't respectful considering I was just a tourist visiting and spending $$ in their beautiful city.

The restaurant is within the bus terminal besides a few other cafes. We have fried cheese and Greek vege for entree, followed by a Boston steak and a grilled salmon. The set lunch come with coffee. And we ended our lunch with desert creme brulée.

Located inside the Via Rail building, Charbon Steakhouse is a chique and spacious restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. We made a reservation for 4 for supper and enjoyed meals of steak, ribs, maple-glazed salmon, and burger. We also shared an apple based dessert (see attached photo) which was fantastic! This place is great for a date night out, with family, or with friends.

Great place for a good steak. I had a flank steak that was divine. Just cooked as I asked, no hussle, no problem. Our server was experienced, friendly and professional. Easy for ketoer, just ask for no sauce and a side of ceasar salad. Pricey, but hey! Steak! ????

One of the best restaurant in Quebec. Sirlon steak was juicy and ample in taste. Parsnip, mushroom and pepper were served in right proportion with meat. Pasta salad was in good combination with vegetables and balsamic sauce. Service was fast and efficient. We had short of time since train departure time was due. Waitress helped us to serve food fast. Please mind this place located within the Station (google map leads you out of the station).

Some English on the menu posted outside for public viewing, but no English Menu available inside was disappointing. Also waitress forgot to let is know children under 12 can have a free meal so we ordered for our 11 year old knowing he wouldn't eat it all, although when we realized the mistake they made some amends by charging half price on the meal. Other than that ... steak was FANTASTIC ... soft and cooked to perfection.

Quite disappointing. And quite expensive for the whole meal. However, very good service. (Original) Le pavé de saumon était excellent. Le shortcake aux fraises et framboises du Québec; très faible en petits fruits, pas vraiment de gâteau et beaucoup de crème fouettée. À 10.25$ le dessert, ça valait pas celà. Assez décevant. Et assez dispendieux pour l'ensemble du repas. En revanche, très bon service.

One of the best steakhouses I’ve ever visited!! Loved their menu selection! I started with the Caesar salad and it was amazing!! They presented the dish really well! The dressing was so nice and flavourful and complimented well with the bacon crumble!! The New York steak that I got was very nice, tender and juicy!! The gravy served alongside was terrific!! I almost ordered a glass of a fine red wine!! And I ended my dinner with the salted chocolate cake and paired it with an espresso shot and it was beautiful!! I really love the way they present the dishes!! 9/10 for plate presentation!! Our server Nadine did an amazing job in serving us! She even thought me a bit of French!! Very friendly and enthusiastic! Truly professional!! In my next visit I will definitely visit here!! Keep the good work going guys!! magnifique Good luck!! Cheers!!

My family and I went here for dinner on Christmas Day and we were quite disappointed overall. The location was very cool and the restaurant itself seemed pretty nice but the service was not very good and the food was not nearly what it should have been. We ordered a variety of dishes for our table and all of them were mediocre at best.

Start off with bread, coleslaw and pickles,all of which really good. We tried the onion rings were quite tasty, but really large, made them slightly harder to eat. Amazing steaks! Children's meals were great. My children wanted the steaks, which came with a first course of tomato soup,which was delicious. The steaks were cooked perfect. I had a veggie burger which was tasty and their baked potato was good. The children's meal came with little sundaes which were tasty. We tried a chocolate lava cake which was also good. Service was great! We would definitely return!

Excellent service, excellent food. They are a top-notch steakhouse that would compete in any city. There is elegant outside seating available, but with the weather turning a bit cold and potentially rainy, my wife and I opted to sit inside. The interior is richly appointed, the bar in the center with its red lights is unique. The kitchen is visible to all and you can even peruse the cuts of meat. Every table gets bread, cole slaw and pickles. My wife is gluten-free (sans gluten) and they went above and beyond to ensure a great meal, even demonstrating knowledge of cross contamination. Her bun-free burger was great; and my 20oz bone-in rib steak was delicious! Recommended. We went for our anniversary.

Bad service, and rude. They force you to eat at the restaurant and refuse to offer takeout. On top of it, its the only restaurant for both trains and buses at the gare. Google says they do take out but i just went and they refused said i had to eat inside if i wanted food. Ridiculous. -5 stars.

I’ve been to great steakhouses in my life. Moishes, Gibbys, The Keg and some that were incredible in Wyoming and eslewhere in the US. But I’ve got to say, the Filet Mignon I had last night was the best I ever had. It was crispy on the outside and so moist on the inside, really perfect! The mushrooms were absolutely amazing, they still had a bite to them. Asparagus were perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes were good (not the best though). The cesar salad was okay. Service was nice, the waiter wasn’t pushy at all and was very nice. I do wish the plate was warmer, so that the food would have stayed hotter for longer! It is pricey, just like every other steakhouse anyway! I will go again for sure.

IMO a much better deal than the touristy restaurants and a much better outdoor seating than any other place located in the upper part of town as they are close to traffic

Food was great! I gave it 5* despite the fact that the waiter messed up our order. They gave us a free "Key Lime Pie" dessert to compensate. I wrapped that in quotation marks because it was not tart like Key Lime Pie is supposed to be. It was still good, but not the real thing. It was still 5* and will definitely return if the opportunity arises.

The mushroom soup appetizer was very delicious. The steak was tender and the service was great. The cucumber side was unexpected, but it served as a really tasty palate cleanser. Skip the dessert though. You'll be full from the steak and my dessert, the carrot cake, was just average.
