Absolutely fantastic food! Visitors often comment that it rivals their favourite Vancouver sushi bars. Book ahead to make sure you can get a table, and bring your friends. If anyone not fond of seaweed wrap, soy wraps are available. A meal will run you a few bucks, but you definitely get excellent value for your money.

Food was great and the service was fast, but the the building is old and largely unfinished (exposed wires, rafters, pipes) although it did add some character to the place.

Pretty decent sushi. Fairly limited options. They have a couple Japanese whisky and some sake which are nice. There are other options in town I'd like to try before returning.

One of the most beautiful sushi restaurants I've been, like you're thrown a century back to Japan! The salmon was fresh and tasted great, BC maki was dry but I should have expected that when the fish's grilled, right haha! 4 and 1/2 stars!

Great sushi, seating is limited and not comfortable. Just keep in mind You have to climb about 25 stairs. They do take out as well.

While working on a cruise ship, my friends and I came in here one day for lunch while docked in port. It was so good we came back several hours later for dinner. Seriously, this might be the best sushi I've had. You don't find fresher salmon anywhere else. You watch the chef's, who are the sweetest guys, cut up the whole fish in front of you. It's caught that morning. The menu was creative. Great ambiance overall. The place is upstairs of a boutique, tucked away in the fir trees. They have outdoor seating, but being that it was September in BC we sat cozy inside. Great service, quiet and they serve green tea ice cream! Loved this place, definitely check it out if you find yourself in town!

Went to Opa Sushi on August 27th as I had a craving. Small place so I would recommend getting a reservation. They didn't have any free tables so I asked if I could order to go and they were happy to help. While I ordered a table became free and they asked if I wanted to stay I of course said yes and asked that they add an order of Miso Soup too. Food was served quick and it was fresh. Will go back when I'm again out on the coast.

It was good. I had the assorted sunomono and my hubby had their miso soup. We shared the classic combo since my hubby is not fun of the raw fish (so I ate what was there ????). Filled us up! Service was good and patient with me as I was trying to decided what I wanted. Lol.

Seriously???? I went there to eat and they don’t even have real crab, just fake crab. In PrinceRupert and you have the nerve to serve fake crab to diners?? Bye bye. I’m at Fukasaku now awaiting my Dungeness Roll and so much more.

Fantastic sushi and sashimi. Everything from the seaweed salad and miso soup to salmon and octopus was excellent. Only minor quibble was our beverage—we ordered a raspberry mint cocktail and it was really bitter. The server didn't seem to know how to make it so it was likely a mistake. Otherwise we loved it here. It is a touch expensive but good sushi always is.

Food was wonderful, drinks were delicious and unique (I had the blush martini). Most importantly, the service was lovely, they were fully booked so we couldn't stay, but they let us sit at a table and have a drink while we waited for takeout. Great experience.

I was sitting away from the viewpoint but this is what you're getting with the food. The food was awesome and the portions were bigger than I would get in the mainland provinces. The rolls, soup, and sushi was well made and presented. I did start eating it before my pictures so somethings have been taken or moved. The service was pleasant and attentive to the guest. On Cow Bay Rd it is a 30sec walk to the waters edge and other shops and markets.

Tried the commando, cream cheese was quite delicious. I usually get spice girl as it's good bang for your buck. Overall very delicious food as far as sushi menus go. Beautiful wooden finish on their interior design with rustic tables and ceiling and walls that make it feel like an old fishing vessel. Say the word "badger" and you will be given a 10% discount.

Was really impressed with both the quality and quantity. We split 2 vegetarian rolls, a tuna roll, and the large assorted maki plate. The place was full when we got there but thankfully only had to wait a couple minutes. Food came fast even though a group of 6 hungry guys ordered just before us.

I wandered into this little restaurant at the recommendation of a local. This was seriously the best sushi ever! Every time I come to Prince Rupert, I always pop in for sushi. Words cannot adequately describe the awesomeness that comes out of the kitchen here.

Here I thought a small town like rupert wouldn't have great sushi. Boy was I wrong. Probably the top 3 sushi places I have ever been to my entire life. their sashimi is top notch.

Hands down the best green dragon rolls I've ever had! The gyoza (not pictured) was so fresh, you could definitely taste how real it was. I also tried the commando roll, as it looked interesting with jalapeno on top! Great work, I highly suggest! Everyone be sure to make reservations otherwise seating is not guaranteed.

Super tasty sushi! Lots of options for both vegetarians, pescatarian and normal eaters. Favorite roll has to be the green dragon by far. So yummy! Only draw back is the food can get a little pricey which seems kind of weird for a port town.

Opa Sushi has a good vibe. The food is very high quality and the chefs are on their "A" game! The salads and sushi are very good here. The wait staff are efficient and cordial. Even the chef was happy when he walked past our table. It's great to see people that love their job. :)

ALWAYS CALL AHEAD TO RESERVE!! This place is packed for good reason. High quality, fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. Excellent ambiance and atmosphere, small capacity makes the place feel cozy and welcoming. The patio out the back is the perfect place to soak up the beautiful Prince Rupert sun. Staff are attentive and quick. Food is never a dissapointment. Well worth the extra $$ and the wait if you didnt reso.

We visited Opa Sushi last weekend for the first time in a long time. My husband has heart issues so the stairs have kept us away. The food was really good, the portions were great and the price was right. We got lots of green tea refills. The crowd was mixed with a few oldsters like us and a lot of young people in groups. We will be back soon.

This little restaurant is so cozy, has a local feel, a nice view if you are by the window. The staff are accommodating and friendly. The food is brilliant! Locally sourced fish. Soooo yum. I ate the Marvel sushi. Very tasty! Nice miso soup.

This place is a hidden gem. The freshness and quality of the (locally sourced) ingredients really shines through in the taste of the food. The service was nice and the decor was pleasantly rustic. I wish we had been able to eat on the patio, the forest came right up to the edge of it, which looked super cool! I would not hesitate to eat here again!

I love going in and eating some pretty decent sushi! It's a small, cozy place that has great staff and a large menu to choose from. The platters are very creative and it caters well for more westernized sushi lovers. Unfortunately, the restaurant is up a small staircase on the side of the building, so wheelchair bound people or those who have issues with stairs can't visit.
