We ordered the Mee Grob Lard Na, Drunken Prawns & Thai Iced Tea. Personally, the saltiness was overprowering and we needed to order a side dish of rice to cut it down. Prawn size/amount was generous, especially for $16! In hindsight, we would've ordered one dish and a side of rice as the servings were plentiful. Seems like a popular spot for take out. Close to ferry terminal.

My wife and I were in Powell River for 3 days and this was my favorite meal I had by far. Exceptional Thai food with lots of quality veggies. The portions are very good which leaves some left over for a snack if your lucky!

Delicious, quick, big portion sizes and perfect spice descriptions (if not slightly milder than described so don't worry if you don't like too spicy). Excellent meat portions, this is not a 3 shrimp pad Thai sort of place, they load it up. The Thai iced coffee is also both pretty and tasty. They take cards and cash and they're genuinely quick if you want some for the ferry ride. Gets busy quick around 430-5pm as all the other shops close, clearly the locals also enjoy it. We loved the punny name.

Soooo good! The food was very flavourful; they ship ingredients from Bangkok and it has the authentic Thai flavours. They were so busy, but was so worth the wait. Eat here!

I have been coming here for a long time, but tonight was my last night. The service was the worst service I’ve ever received at any restaurant. It took 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order. She brought us waters after that. Then an hour and a half later we were still waiting on our spring rolls, despite several tables whom had gotten there after us already eating. So I had to go to the counter and ask again for our spring rolls. Thankfully 15 Mins later our meals finally came, but we had no forks. Our waters were never refilled and we weren’t checked on once. Then we had to bring the left overs to the front to get packed to go. Will not be back. Very disappointing and a waste of an evening.

Thaidal Zone is our go to restaurant here. The food is absolutely delicious (NO MSG as stated by another reviewer), the kitchen is spotless and the staff are lovely! Highly recommend their green curry and drunken prawns yummy!!

Just coz I was craving for Thai food, my bf and I tried this place in Powell River. We're not expecting 5/5 food. The service was a little slow but this is known due to staffing issue and it's Thai food. The longer you wait the better. Thai food is not an easy dish so we waited patiently. Then the food finally came and my oh my. I love Thai dish myself but my bf had not had a luck with Thai food so he wasn't excited until he had his first taste of the Tom Yom Goong soup. Then the pad Thai... Even the Thai restaurants in Vancouver is no match for authentic taste of this gem. We had pad Thai, Tom Yong Goong, and green curry. We regret not ordering food to go coz the food is that good.

I could rave for ages about the food here, the paeng thai curry I ordered tasted almost the exact same as the curries I've had in Thailand myself. Friendly and prompt serving staff with short and reasonable wait times as well. I can't reccommend this place enough if you're in Powell, or have some time to kill before a ferry. If an owner or employee sees this review I would like to let them know that there was a jar of sambal ooleck I believe that was on the table for customers to use, however it was clear that the jar hadn't been cleaned recently, and several fruit flies were attracted to the sauce. As someone who has been working in restaurants for several years already I would recommend storing these complimentary sauces in the cooler until a customer chooses a table. For other customers don't let my nitpicky complaint put you off their delicious authentic food though.

My mixed seafood medium spicy was terrific. The brown sauce was delicious. Plenty of squid, mussels, and shrimp. Lots of crisp tender veggies. Very good rice. My wife liked her masaman curry beef. Service was good but not super attentive. Right off the ferry landing and perfect for hungry day trippers.

I was driving truck for a produce company on the island, and Thaidal Zone was one of my regular stops. They have a big order every week. And I can honestly say, they have one of the cleanest kitchens in Powell River. I eat there a lot.

Food is really good portions are awesome. The only downside I noticed is when you get takeout, the lunch portion is much bigger than the dinner portion, it used to be the other way around. But very good food none the less

Contrary to what customers know, this business uses MSG in all their food. Although they are unlikely to admit it. If you have an MSG allergy stay away. It also goes a long way towards questioning the quality of their food if they need to add MSG to make it palatable. I won't return. The Cost has also went up recently. That too has also stopped me from eating here. The level of sodium is very high as well. I find myself drinking as much water as I can after a meal from this establishment. The vegetables are not washed before being diced up and cooked either. Little do the residents of Powell River know what goes on inside that kitchen.

Whilst you are waiting for a ferry, staying at the Port of Powell River at the government docks or driving the sunshine coast, stop and eat here. Best Thai food ever. Fresh tasting, friendly staff and Master of Thai food in the kitchen make this a 5 ???? meal. Take some to go! You won't find anything like it if you're on a long trip.

Amazing Thai food. Travelled to Thailand and took cooking class there and this is AUTHENTIC. The PAD THAI, BA-MEE LARD NA, GHIAW GROB, THAI CURRY and more are all delicious. I'm sad because they are now closed for the month of January 2022 for renovations but I know that they will be back and creating the most amazing dishes again.

Worst experience in Powell River. Waited for almost 1 and a half hours until we got the first dish. The taste made us disappointed too! Feel sorry for the 2 waitresses, they kept saying sorry to everyone.

If I could. I would say this is a solid 4.5 stars the food was very good. But the spice ratings are pretty meaninglessness. We ordered 3 dishes as a 3 spice level and 1 dish as a 4 spice level. The spice level 4 dish wasn't spicy enough in my opinion but flavour was good. Luckily 2 of the spice level 3 dishes were quite spicy. The Mossman curry was by far the best curry. Green curry was also very tasty. Red curry could have used more flavour/seasoning. Prices were very reasonable. Would definitely order again in the future!

This is seriously amazing Thai food. I lived in Thailand for a while and this is by far the closest I've had in Canada to the food in Thailand. The portions are generous, my meal came out quickly and the owners were friendly. Next time I visit Powell River I'll be back for sure!

I would have rated this place 0 stars if I could. We were told an hour and 15min wait, we showed up at that time, and were told they hadn't started our order yet and it would be another 20 minutes. Not sure why they couldn't have called to tell us that before we got there, they didn't seem like they had any idea what was going on, and they were not even friendly, and didn't even apologize. We asked if we'd get a discount on the food if we were having to wait almost 2 hours, and they said absolutely not. So we left with no food. This is the worst customer service that I have experienced in a very long time. Will definitely never be back there.
