A small intimate restaurant at the edge of the downtown core. San Marcos provides you with lovely ambieunce and impecible service. What makes San Marcos stand out to me is the chef. I have to christen the chef the "Alcemist of Flavour". On my visit, I had the Canadiana salad composed of mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, candied walnuts, onion, feta cheese with a maple reduction dressing. I could not get enough of this salad. The maple dressing really puts this salad over the top. Not over powering with maple, just enough sweetness to balance the feta cheese. My main was the Shrimp Stuffed Haddock. Fish is a very tricky dish to have in restaurants for me. Some chefs overcook the fish and you end up with a dry substance. The haddock was moist and flaky and the basil cream sauce was divine. There is a reason that I call this chef an Alcemist! The sauce really compliments the haddock and shrimp nicely. Not only in presentation, but also with flavour. The dish was served with roasted potatoes, brussel sprouts and carrots. I have to mention that I do not care for brussel sprouts, but I have to admit that the sprouts were delicious! This is a restaurant that I would recommend for special occassions, celebrations, and for people who love great tasting food. I have to say that I would love to see the maple dressing bottled for purchase. It was the show stopper for me.

Absolutely amazing. Aside from the excellent food and service, the owners are incredibly sweet! My husband spilled his wine glass and they not only cleaned it up, but replaced it with a full glass of wine and offered to even make new food (not needed but they nearly insisted). Unbelievably sweet and a lovely experience. Highly recommend!

My wife and l had dinner she had the cod stuffed with shrimp and l had the veal chop. Both dishes were delicious. We had the calamari as a start and they were done on point. Only Italian place I've ever been to that flavors their homemade sauce with a ham hock. Since all of their pastas are made with the red sauce as a base, this makes it very hard for vegetarians to enjoy a meal there. What we were able to eat was delicious, it's too bad they don't have a vegetarian option for their sauce.

The plexy glass between the tables made us feel safe. Food was FANTASTIC and our waitress was great. We supported you through the pandemic by ordering takeout. But it felt really good to come in and sit down for a meal.

Good but not great and not authentic Italian. Had the French onion soups and it was good. The Eggplant Parmigiana was a thin slice of Eggplant breaded both sides and fried like Veal Parmigiana. Definitely not what was expected having eaten this many times in Italy. Wine (red) was very warm, not served at the correct temperature. There was no espresso machine - therefore does not qualify as an Italian restaurant. Not recommended nor will go back.

Great Italian restaurant. We stopped in one night to check out the place and were pleasantly rewarded with a perfect evening. The food was perfect..and Jen #1 was amazing. She was on fire with serving and pouring drinks until at least an hour after we arrived. She was a great part of the evening. We will definitely be back!

First time visitor to the restaurant with friends who had been there before. Quaint small restaurant. Beautiful decor with black and white photos on the walls. We had the Lobster Bisque, and, for the 15 minute wait time it states on the menu, it was definitely worth the wait. The bisque was not too rich, very light tasting and the puff pastry baked on top was amazing. The Shrimp, Scallops and Mussels Fettuccine Milano was delicious. If you are not into creamy white sauces or tomato sauce this dish is perfection. Made with garlic and olive......delicious. Would recommend this lovely little Italian restaurant in Port Colborne to anyone wanting a great meal.

We've been for dinner twice in the past week and have been impressed both visits. Very friendly staff and owners and a really comfortable dining setting right in downtown Port Colborne. The food is PHENOMENAL. Veal. Pasta. Salads. Trust me, if you're looking for some tasty Italian in a cozy setting, this is the spot.

Really enjoyed our dinner! We ordered the chicken Picante and fettuccine Napoli. Both were really tasty! I'll definitely be back! The restaurant put up plastic dividers between the tables which was nice. The night we went the patio was full, so I'd recommend getting reservations. Overall very impressed with this Port Colborne Italian restaurant!

The friendly staff and owners, quality food and wines, excellent service and the great atmosphere, always make it a great night out whether it is just the two of us or a group of friends. Excellent service. Hot, flavorful abundant meals. Seated immediately without a reservation. Our table of three enjoyed starters consisting of the feature seafood chowder with potato and pancetta (incredibly delicious and layered with flavors). Garlic shrimp with lemon that was the best we've ever had. Dinner consisted of fresh crab cakes with shrimp, the featured beef tenderloin with goat cheese, and chicken picatta with fettuccini Alfredo. The portions were large, served steaming hot, and satisfyingly popping with layers of flavour. The meal was served with a generous basket of complimentary bread and focaccia served with white bean garlic pesto spread - incredibly delicious and fresh. The red wine suggested by our server was exquisite and beautifully complimented the meal. Extremely well done by everyone on staff. The kitchen staff clearly take pride in creating something special for each guest. We are looking forward to a return visit. Our server truly made our evening memorable with outstanding customer service combined with good humour and attention to detail. So very impressive!

The food is AMAZING! We started with the Beet Salad. It was fantastic. Great flavours. I recommend the 3 cheese lasagna. The sauce was so fresh and the noodles of the lasagna melted in your mouth. (And the gnocchi was no slouch either.) The servers were very attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed and cozy.

Great food , good service but not so nice if you have a a table of eight loud, rude people who think that they are the only ones in the restaurant. Ruined a lovely Mother's day dinner. Had to shout across the table to speak to my wife or wait till they stopped talking which wasn't vey long.. Spoke to staff after, they have no policy about noise as I suggested that they need to speak to groups like that. This group of people were from Ridgeway by the Lake where they have more money that manners! Possibly looking for another restaurant.

I've been to dozens of Italian restaurants . We had a party of 4 for my birthday. Server was Jennifer. We were there from 8pm to 10pm on Friday evening. Great food and service but one little thing keeps me from coming back. We paid our bill around $200.00 and then my son-in-law wanted a coffee. We got the coffee and we're given another bill. I gave the server $5.00 and told her to tell the boss coffee should be on the house after settlement. This was the first time I've ever been charged in this manner in any restaurant. It's not the cost it's the principle.
