This was our second visit to this restaurant, being fairly new to town. The first visit be excellent. The guys was great very friendly and enjoyable to converse with. This time Barry was taking care of us, well not sure that taking care of us is the right term. He was not friendly and very rude. He even said to us if you do NOT want more coffee we have people waiting for a table. More less telling us to give up our table.. Working in the restaurant business myself, I know this not how you talk or treat customers. He may have may a bit more money today by us leaving but lost money in the future.

A gem in Pictou. Food and service were great! I had the salmon burger and my husband had the turkey and bacon triple decker. The portion and cook on the salmon were perfect.

Excellent food. Always enjoy the food here. Prices are up there but the food is worth it. I had a seafood chowder with lobster and the size of the pieces were huge. Very delicious. They have an selection of food. We were a party of 11 and there were not complaints. Very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended if you are wanting an elevated food experience.

So we ended up here because one restaurant had a 20 minute wait and directed us to a different place that didn't serve breakfast. And boy are we grateful that happened. This place was AMAZING. The Eggs Benedict were fantastic (never take for granted a properly poached egg - it's becoming less and less common) and the veggie skillet was equally good. Home made jams (strawberry and blueberry) just put everything over the top. Great prices and service. Wonderful take out pastries. This place has it all. If you're in the area and you don't go here, you will live with regret. I guarantee it.

Abysmal service. Curt wait staff, left with a thimbleful of water for over 45 minutes or so with no attention from our server. Finally, when the food arrived I was pleasantly suprised. Great food but I found the service desperately wanting. Would give this place another chance.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We first tried it on our way through Pictou and ended up choosing them to cater our wedding. Camille was incredibly helpful, kind, and thorough throughout the process. On the wedding day her staff were prompt and so kind to all of the guests. They were so helpful and assertive where needed! They even cut the cake for us when we had originally had planned to do so. Overall the experience was incredible, not to mention how affordable it all was. If you're looking for a family feel, home cooked experience, this is the place to go!

This little cafe was my favorite eating experience on this holiday..Dad and I ate there tonight. I had a club sandwich and it was the best club sandwich that I have ever eaten. Dad had the apple and brie stuffed chicken breast with vegetables. He loved it.

Delicious food! Had the lobster sandwich and fries and the food was really great! Also purchased one of the art pieces they had on display at the time. Staff are friendly, the restaurant is small and cozy and most importantly, the food is amazing! Really a must stop. P.S they had fresh baked goods (cookies) when I went, go for it, it was homemade!

My partner and I had a really nice lunch at the Stone Soup Cafe. The menu is quite eclectic, including a tasty falafel, and they can cater to most dietary preferences. The restaurant and patio both overlook the harbourfront.

We did not enjoy our visit here. I ordered a lobster roll and got just a tiny bit of lobster salad, about 1 tablespoon worth, no joke, on a toasted bun and spring mix, and no side, not even a salad or fries. It did taste good but for the price of $15 was quite excessive for what I got. My husband had the Rueben sandwich. The bread was dry and crumbly. I asked for water and I got a room temp glass of well water, which the lady was quite proud of, no ice. The tables were all dirty just to top it off. The lady was very friendly though and it is a small business which is why I was generous with the 3 stars

Delicious little restaurant for breakfast. All home made food. Farm fresh products not from the store is what I mean! Ham, eggs, sausage and bread all hand produced by artisans and at a good price.

The BEST fish and chips I've ever had!! You dont need a tartar sauce to enjoy it. The fish was thick and juicy like a chicken, and very crispy outside. So perfect! The chowder was thick and nice too

Great little place! Lovely patio to sit on in the summer, cozy but open atmosphere. The people who run it are always so sweet and the food is amazing. The blueberry cheese bake is to die for and the roast turkey sandwich is delicious! One of my favorite spots!

Fantastic food! Had the Stone Soup baked brie with it's fresh blueberry compote and homemade taco chips - Amazing!! Both the lobster chowder and seafood chowders were rich and creamy. Love that everything is locally sourced! Can't wait to stop by again when in the area!

Best restaurant in Pictou! Order the roasted veggies grilled cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries. Oh, my. A contender for the best meal I had in NS. Sit out on the back porch for a little view of the water. Friendly service. Wish I could go back and order the same again!!! We stopped here on our way to the ferry in Caibou, going to PEI.
