Decent food. Very tasty. But place is a mess, could use a serious refresh on decor and furniture. Only one server for the whole place and front table area was not cleaned up after patrons had left, littered with leftovers and dirty plates.
Service and the menu are good. The patio has a nice chill vibe for dinner, while the inside has two separate sections; a front that looks a little fancier, and the back end is the original sports bar. It's an interesting blend of ambience, so you can pick your environment.
Great food, amazing service. Waitress was amazing and so sweet. Recommended for anyone looking for a great pub experience.
Cozy little restaurant serving pub fare on main Street of Picton. Very friendly waitress. Food was delicious and hot. I got the fish and chips, was a very large portion. There is a bar with seating in the back, and seating for the restaurant up front. Would come back.
Nice people, nice combo of pub and restaurant. I always feel when I come that the place should be rockin', but bands (when they play) finish early. Boo. Picton is nice, but even in tourist season tends to roll up early. Props for supporting local wine and cider!
Best value for food in Picton. Large patio Always live music on the weekends.
Live band! It was packed on a Friday night. Went with the wife to watch the raptors game and eat some wings. Food came out quick, was delicious and met some cool people. Everyone seems to know everyone else that was there. Small town pub.
The food at Coach's is pretty basic American food, and is pretty tasty. The servings are massive so you will not leave hungry. Also, the service is on point. The best part is that the restaurants in downtown Picton were all packed, and these guys have lots of tables, so we didn't have to wait.
A lovely and well priced pub! Stepped in for a drink with my husband. Food was delicious, drinks were good, patio was clean, staff were friendly and attentive. Wonderful spot.
Typical pub fare. Staff are friendly. Not fancy but great location for a cold one. Patio out back shaded by trees, pub, bar and entertainment at the back of the restaurant and a few tables at front for a quieter dinner. Prices very reasonable.
OK Tired decor, dirty toilets, OK but not great food, but very nice staff. Torn between 2 and 3 stars.
WiFi is 'thecoach' without quotations. Service was a very slow. Beer selection was weak for the area (must other bars in area have local craft beers). Food was alright, price was not very expensive.
Its a nice sports bar in Picton. The staff are great and the food is good :)
good pub grub, staff, and prices. comfortable.
Friendly staff , reasonable price and good location. Live music is bonus. Good burgers and sandwiches.
Great casual restaurant. Staff is really pleasant, nothing fancy but patio is usually nice and quiet. Fish tacos are great, nice big portions.
Good food. Fast and friendly service. A great place to go for pub fare and/or a beverage ☕
Excellent place to be thoroughly ignored by your server. Try the sweet potaots
The kind staff at Coach's prepared a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner for my family on October 10th - turkey with all the trimmings and pumpkin pie for dessert. Thank you to the great team that made our family time together very special. Coach's rocks! Melanie Macdonald and family, Picton, ON
Quite small with tiny tables and uncomfortable chairs Bar in the back is a little distracting at times Waitress needed prompting for drinks and forgotten ordered items Bill was a tad high for what was basically bar food but it was good.
If you're ever in Picton you want good food, dancing and live music with reasonable Hometown prices Coaches is great.
Lovely shaded setting with good service and excellent food.
A bit hidden but the back pub are is not bad. Food was great.
We were are party of 4 and were seated promptly. Everything was as expected from a good restaurant. We had steak, burger and wraps. All was prepared well and tasted good. The rare stake we ordered was a bit too rare for the taste (seemed to have been just seared ) but was adjusted promptly. The restaurant is clean.
Best place to grab a pint and watch the game in Picton. Seems like it's the spot where the locals go. Surprisingly good food for the price. Has a definite business in the front, party in the back motif.
Always enjoy visiting Coach's. Personalized service and the patio are big draws for myself and my friends.
This place is a bit of a disaster. The decor is non-existent (it looks like they just moved a bar into an empty room). The service was humdrum (our waiter actually went to run an errand in his car while we were there). The food was bland: an unseasoned burger with bacon and onion rings on a nondescript bun does not belong in a restaurant. A McDonald’s burger is more interesting than this.
The WORST service I have ever had. My grandmother and I came here for lunch the other day as she has always had great experiences here, and sat in the front room; which - although outdated - was quite clean and charming. The server, however, asked for our order while she was dropping off the menus, before we had had a chance to look. I explained that we would take a couple of minutes deciding, and we didn't see her at our table for the following half hour. We watched her serve the other two tables in our vicinity, completely ignoring us, and, finally, I had to go back to the bar to place our order because she obviously wasn't interested in coming to our table. I found her reading a menu in the back and had to say "excuse me" a couple of times to catch her attention. She looked startled, and came to our table a few minutes later to apologize and offer a refill on my grandmother's drink. I would have been perfectly willing to understand, having worked in the service industry myself as a student and therefore knowing that after a lunch rush everything gets a bit confusing, but apparently she was not yet finished proving her workplace's inadequacy when serving customers. We received our chicken clubs twenty minutes later which were clearly put together very hastily, and not even halfway through our meal she approached us to ask whether we would like dessert or the bill. I was too surprised to reply, so my grandmother answered that we would like the bill, and she had us use the debit machine while we were eating. I figured that the server must have been new and took some pity on her, but my grandmother assured me that she has seen her plenty of times before in the restaurant; not to mention the fact that she did not seem to have any problem serving the other tables. The busser, clearly confused, even came out to clean our table as we were now the only ones left in the front room, and smiled apologetically when she saw that we were, indeed, still eating. We thankfully did not see our server again afterwards. The only positive aspects to our experience were the fries and the clean environment, but this was certainly not compensation for the rest. We will NOT be eating here again despite my grandmother's status as a regular customer, and certainly should have left while we had the chance.
Great service and the food was very good.
Great place for live music! Great wings and beer!
Great place to eat and relax during this reopening. Good food, beer ???? on tap and very friendly service. All covid protocols were been observed during our meal.
The food is good expect " The Steak Burger " is disaster . We had a little rudeness from the waiteress but the Manager in duty she was nice enough to apologies for her and satisfy us . The only reason I'm not giving 5 star is because of the Steak Burger and the waiteress rudeness .
Great serving staff. Burgers are great although slightly overcooked for me. Prefer a bit jucey. Pasta dishes are recommended. Fresh garlic would have enhanced the dish.
We had the 'special', and chicken parmesan. The Chicken meal was as if it was a frozen dinner from the supermarket, that they reheated. Melted cheese on top needed to be scraped off along with the sour tomatoe sauce. Couldn't stomach the linguini that came with it, and left it all. The 'special', was OK steak, with fries. The melted cheese that topped it was, again, something you get from a supermarket frozen meal. And to think they charged 26 dollars for that plate. As for the service, well lets just say that once she dropped the food on our table, we didn't see her again. A different waitress did apologize before we left. Will not be going back. Thanks Coaches, way to ruin our anniversary dinner.
Great place, great service! There's sort of a split between a more quite dining room and the sports bar in the back, so it's easy to miss if you're looking for a bar. The food and drink was excellent, and the staff was really nice. Drop by when you're in town!
Great food. Everyone ranted and raved about their deserts. Go for the patio over the dinner room or bar.
Great place! Always happy to be here.
Great company...the end!
Great food and service. Love the outdoor patio
Good food, lots of beer on tap, not many craft beers, but still good. There's a really nice patio out back too.
Decent pub food, big shady patio, cold beer. A favourite among locals. I was a little disappointed that there was only one local craft brewery represented, but I had a Prince Eddy's and was happy.
Very nice place. Food was good. Touristy in the front. More of a local crowd for the back.
Very nice patio! service and drinks are average, terrible food though, need to work on food quality and presentation! Indoor looking old and dirty.
The food is alright. It's just mediocre pub food. It's just a regular hole in the wall bar. However, the seating by the front door was nice, in front of the windows.
Someone call Gordon Ramsay. Perfect kitchen nightmare.
Best menu selection in Picton, hands down! The food was wonderful, service exceptional, all around great experience!!!
Great place to watch your favorite sports team(s) win! Funtastic live music on certain days... Must visit!!
Local hangout: After years (decades?) of family dinning in the small town of Picton where choices are limited, we finally found Coach's, and boy we are glad that we did. The food is quite good, the service is excellent. They have a GREAT outdoor patio/deck at the rear. From the front, this place usually looks desolate/empty. But travel into the building, past the dark, unassuming BAR area, keep going, and you will reach the nice patio/deck area. Highly recommended, if you don't mind the local degens hanging out there after they have enjoyed one too many 'pops'.
Good food
Great food! Great service!
We love coming here, and the egg burger is still my favourite. We came in today for lunch and had a new server which was okay, however she knew nothing about the menu and my wife found her to be very rude. She also spoke within earshot to her coworker about not having her vacations, yet customers are required to have them. Very unprofessional and stained an otherwise excellent run we've had here.
Food was very tasty, best wings I’ve ever tasted!
I have been to Coaches a couple of times and always get the oysters. Great plate size for a great price. They have outdoor seating in the summer and 2 different areas in the restaurant for seating. The front is quieter and the back is where the bar and great bands are.
Don't trust Google reviews - they are probably way overstated by locals. This place is really 2.5 stars as the most. If you don't order alcohol your chances of getting a clean water glass are diminishing low. I've asked twice and got dirty one twice in a row. If you order juice you will get super watered down mix barely representing original taste. Food is overcooked and barely eatable. Go there at your own risk.
Food was not great and overpriced. Terrible setting, and woefully understaffed.
Love Coach's, the staff manages to remember our drinks weeks and months later, great burgers, and great value all around. Highly recommend for a relaxed evening at the pub.
Waited 20 minutes on the patio and no waitress for us but the hostess served the locals having a birthday 3 times. I went in a asked her for a waitress and she give me shot for not letting her know that we were out there. Been there many times but never again. Our waitress was fantastic ( a Queens Student ). Food is getting smaller and slower service.
Awful rude service. These people hate anyone that isn't a local. It was really clear that they feel this way, but just to double check we asked around to other resturants in the area that we had went to after and was always told the exact same thing. I'm sure they'll be going out of business soon. Do not go here. Even if everywhere else is full. You'll have a better night if you just go home.
Great food. We order takeout from here and the fish tacos are amazing. In summer they have a nice patio behind the building. Pleasant and efficient staff.
Very low quality pub fare. Patio is overrun with bees. My flatbread was covered in way too much dried basil. Tasted like my grandmothers pantry.
We went here because for some reason Portabella was closed on a Sunday. I'm only giving it 2 stars because our server was so sweet and lovely. The food was awful. We had wings, a flat bread and mussels, all very tasteless. The best thing about the food was my 3 year olds chicken strips. The interior was very sparse, no atmosphere, the patio out back was Ok, could be done up a bit better. Disappointing.
Saw them drop the sourcream for nachos right on the floor, buddy looks at us and picks it up and puts it back ontop of the nachos and serves it. Sooo gross. I put my menu away right then and there
Great little patio out back and some amazingly delicious mussels in a white wine garlic sauce made for a lovely evening ????
Great little bar! Cute patio, super affordable and food and beer was awesome! Very covid safe! Will be back!!! Thank you!
Train your servers . Dropping off food and food falling off the plate onto table and then putting it back on the plate . Fingers all over the plate. Never a check in after food served. Getting the check before finished food and not asked if dessert or another drink wanted . This is not just one time !
Great laid back county spot. Friendly people and staff. Great prices and drink selections. Great patio!
Nice spot for a drink. Friendly service!
Big portions. Friendly service. Good value for the money.
I had the Mexican pinwheel tortilla. Very good and filling. I'd order it again. It was nice and warm in there too.
Food was delicious and staff were friendly. Nice place to eat! Will definitely return
