!!! Gave us an illness immediately after eating!!! We have always had a positive/neutral experience ordering from the Original Spaghetti House until this evening. We placed a pre order the day before (yesterday) for a birthday celebration the following evening (today) and the staff seemed a bit flustered but nothing more than what seemed like a busy staff member. When we then called to confirm the order earlier this evening, the staff again seemed rushed and flustered. We ordered 4 vegetarian dishes and 4 salads for the Sunday combo special. All the pastas arrived burned and the Greek salad was filled with old lettuce and stinky feta. Not long after eating, my husband started throwing up and hasn't stopped. It's unfortunate as we have liked ordering here for occasions but just a warning that I don't think it was cooked properly or there was meat inside the sauce or the food was spoiled/unsanitary as my husband is never food sensitive and clearly has gotten food poisoning or something.... Not good at all.

I would give them 5 stars (taking into account the type of food) but the service is what's a pain. Two out of my last three orders have been wrong, and was never compensated. My last order was wrong, called them back and by the time my right order arrived it was barely warm. The food is good, best pizza in town, only when they get it right.

I ordered 2 Tuesday speacials. I place my order at 6:35 It was 7:20 When I called to ask about my food . They put me on hold for 10 mins after the hold And I go to tell the guy it has been almost an hour he says no no I tell you off computer what time you order so he says I ordered at 6:35 and it has not been and hour . when I go to talk he says don't tell at me or I hang up I didn't Evan tell he Hong up on me then took another 10 mins to deliver my food when they only are 5 min drive from my house not Evan. When I got my food it was all thrown together like slop I've always loved ordering from you guys today was just not the best

This is a must eat here in Peterborough. The food is amazing & the portions are massive. We have only been able to order take-out due to Covid but will be coming in for a meal as soon as we can. What a disaster! Ordered lasagne, fettuchini, garlic bread and desserts. Food is mediocre, the lasagne had pepperoni in it which I thought was weird. The pasta showed up but they didn't bring our desserts or pop. I called them and they said someone would bring it by in 5 minutes, 20 minutes later they finally showed up. We'd ordered 2 cheesecakes and instead they brought some sort of coffee cake. Last time my roommate ordered from them she got a cheese and tomato sauce pizza and they forgot the sauce, just sent a pizza with cheese on it. Seriously?? Never ordering from here again.

Amazing Value - Homemade Goodness! Fast, Friendly service, and the food is made from scratch (check out the size of the sauce pot simmering on the stove in the open kitchen!!!!!) This spot is my go to joint for food. They honestly treat you like family. Normally it is a once a week treat to go out and eat. Have ordered most everything off the menu at some point. Best pizza in town, the only pizza crust I will eat. Ilir and his wife are wonderful, and the servers there are all very sweet and do everything they can to make you experience pleasurable. Have had birthday parties there, family dinners, and MANY a date night. Honestly if you want a meal served with a smile by people who actually care about your experience. I would recommend The Original Spaghetti House any day. Great service, great food, huge portions, and great people all for a very good price.

This is on of THE WORST Italian meals ever eaten in an Italian Restaurant. The sauce tasted like it came out of a jar or can. My husband pretty much eats anything. Neither of us could finish it.

Went here with my mom last summer! We’re not local from peterborough, and we wanted something different than fast food and we were both craving pasta! We ordered the chicken alfredo pasta and it comes with peppers and mushrooms (we got mushrooms taken out because i don’t like them). The man on the phone was pleasant and the food smells really tasty! we sat at the YMCA and ate our food and it was delicious - and cheap! we ordered a large garlic bread with cheese and a large alfredo to split and it costed us $20! super impressed spaghetti house, super impressed! highly recommend

The most friendliest place I've ever been to an if you have a gluten free diet he has a few items that will be plenty to fill you up, complements to the chef on the house sauce always a good time out or to pickup the best Italian restaurant I've been to in my life time.

Hands down the best customer service I've experienced, period. We need places like this in Mississauga and Toronto. Wonderful food, amazing employees and around fantastic! The aroma was fantastic, it reminded me of Italian pizzareas in Manhattan. Anyone complaining hasn't been to a soulless pizza joint in Mississauga, god bless!

Hands down the best pizza and deals in Peterborough. I order their Large pep special and everytime it just down right amazing. Love this restaurant. Occasionally eat in as a family, but usually get take out due to scheduling difficulties with getting everyone together at the same time. Food is always delicious, hot and there is always lots of it. Continues to be our favourite go-to restaurant for great food and value.

Took my wife in Valentines day and the sevice was terrible waited 20 minutes for a drink , never got our garlic bread , i ordered chicken cordon blue with sauce on top , and i got veal on spaghetti , waited another 20 minutes for the waitress to take it back and get me what i ordered , and other guests around our table had just as bad of service or worse , one couple waited 35 minutes for a waitress to bring them a menu and managed to mess up there orders as well , best time to go is when its just the owner and his wife in there (avoid the waitress with glasses and fairly tall ) once we got the right food it was very good

What can someone say about a man who in the past has gone out of his way to help others that at the time had no other way to get help. As far as the food goes its second to none. This man cares so much about what he serves to his customers that he over sees ever aspect of the business. My experience goes back other 40 years and this establishment and the way the kitchen is run including his health and safety practices are at the top. Hair in the cesear salad- yuck! I didnt bother saying anything to the waitress, she seemed she was having a bad day. We walked in, no one to be found, we would have thought it was closed if we didnt see 1 couple eating. Lady took forever to get to us, and we had to take our own menus to the table with us. seriously!? She seemed peeved when I wanted to change my order from a garden to a cesear. Full of attitude when we asked if it came with garlic bread. When the food finally got to the table the sauce tasted out of a can, and it was watery. The garlic bread was stale and burnt. The spaghetti was totally over boiled and the veal was obvously pre-frozen and cooked way to long. We didnt bother staying. As soon as the food came we asked for to-go containers and the bill. My mother will probably feed hers to my little brother (she was going to be late getting him from the bus) and I gave mine to a homeless person on the way back to work. Not going back again. Gross!! P.s. The cheese shaker on the table - was old and petrified. Food poisoning in a jar!

Best panzerotti I’ve ever had. The size of the panzerotti was huge and the meat sauce and marinara sauces were each the size of a meal size takeout container. The panzerotti was loaded and the ingredients were top notch. The sauces were both excellent. While eating the panzerotti the toppings stayed in and didn’t slide out like many others do. The crust could be enjoyed on its own with or without sauce. I’m not from here but I seriously considered moving here so I could order this all the time. Amazing.

Walked in Original Spaghetti House a dated decor of past days, but felt like home. I ordered the spaghetti at first but decided to take it home for extra meal as staying in close proximity of Restaurant. So Order Lasagna, wow!!!!, the best I've ever eaten, homemade everything. Salad came first with Garlic Ceasar dressing, that just blew my mind how incredible it was, Luigi ILIR Sino the owner and chef cooks with so much pride and joy. An absolute best and favorite restaurant I'll be returning next week on route to Toronto. He's also developing a new area for products he has been perfecting over the last 30 year's. Great respect for Luigi a great Chef in all manners. Bella the BEST

It started out bad the waitress was a bit surly They wouldn't honour the prices that they had on the their website The chicken parm sandwich was supposed to come with spaghetti or fries but she said that it was extra for that and the price was more it said nine bucks on the internet So I opted for the spaghetti special small it came with a couple meatballs and garlic bread and it was really delicious

An absolute gem you must try. I went online to order from here for mother's day. It's my mother's favourite place and the only thing she wanted for mother's day. There was no option to pay online or over the phone, and I'm not at her house today. I happen to live near the owner/manager and he said "we take care of our neighbors, pay next time and I'll still send the food out today." This goes beyond customer service, this is a sense of community, neighborhood and kindness that has been all but lost these days. Not only is the food fantastic, but the service is absolutely unparalleled. It's rare that you find places in which the food and service are this high caliber. (P.S try the fettuccini alfredo with chicken and mushrooms)

If I could leave a 6 star review I would! OMG Blown away tonight! Wanted to try the house special spaghetti, I was not disappointed. Huge portions, fresh ingredients, probably one of the best pastas I've ever had! Was particularly impressed with the meatballs which I didn't even know we're included and the large mushrooms which were fantastic (as was everything else). Never mind the cheese on top! Anyway I'll be ordering it again once I wake from my food coma ???? We also got the 1/2 chicken with fries and Caesar, which was also fantastic, fall off the bone, and the salad wasn't too garlicky... All for a very reasonable price. Super impressed. If you're on the fence, do yourself a favor and give them a chance... It's well worth it!

would rate it no stars if i could. I can't believe this place is still open...it truly shocks me. I've ordered for delivery once. I got a pizza, lasagna and garlic bread. It was absolutely horrible. the pizza was soggy on bottom and distasteful. Garlic bread was some oil, with few pieces of garlic and dried parsley on a HOT DOG BUN. Lasagna was the worst, the meat tasted very old and the cheese wasn't melted. they should be ashamed since they are an Italian joint.

Went there 2 days ago. Ordered the seafood pasta. Was told they didn't have any alfredo sauce but they would put meat sauce instead. I said ok. When it was brought to my table I got shrimp with chopped up fish fingers as my seafood pasta. I was totally disappointed. Will never go there again.

I have eaten at this restaurant for years, in fact my “last meal” before Gastric bypass was here. I had my Mom and husband here for lunch today we spent 70.00. I asked for take out containers, when I was handed them (3) the containers were swarming with small bugs and the carcasses of bugs. My Mom went up to the counter and advised the cook (he was alone for lunch rush), he said they were ants and handed her new containers. These containers were also swarming with the same bugs. They were not ants. I have seen many ants. This was so disappointing but also really concerning. We will not be back nor did we bring home our leftovers I did not want these insects in our car or homes. My hope is this will be addressed and treated, and please be careful with your take out.

We hired this company for our wedding, I would have to say the food was wonderful... but they were unorganized leading up to the wedding, bad communication, and non-responsive emails... When I went to meet they did not give me an option to taste the food, and they did not give me any ideas for the meal plan.. I had to just wing it, so I would suggest they hire a friendly assistant who can speak English well, and someone who is more suggestive when it comes to Weddings.

In town for a hockey tournament and needed some good pasta for our post-game meal. We ordered some spaghetti and meatballs for take-out and it was possibly the best I’ve ever had. Our containers were stuffed with 3 huge meatballs and a homemade sauce to die for. Great prices, and service.

When they read me back my order at pickup and I mentioned that it was a large, the man serving me gave me 2 small salads (which were huge anyways)! I have never had a bad experience here. I guess there's always a first! Ordered and first we are told there's no diet pop. Should have left then. Place or food order the sat for an hour and had Caesar salad and a big glass of WATER! Server tells us not only do the not have the penne but you can have rigotoni. Few minutes later they have no rigotoni lol At that point we are outta there! An Italian restaurant that ran outta pasta. At least they said don't worry about the salads or the three glasses of water.

Food tasted like nothing, me and my friend ordered a french onion soup and the only thing we tasted was water with cheese. For the main course the spaghetti the veal and the lasagna had no taste. Honestly i don't know if its that we got a bad day but not a good experience for me and my friends.

I'm not sure where most of you have been going. We have been going to the Original Spaghetti House since it opened. We have never been disappointed. The lasagna is the best in town, always consistent. And we always get a welcome from the owner. It is one of our "go to" restaurants in Peterborough and always will be. I should also add that the service is quick and very friendly.

Just moved here in the area and tried the Lindsay location. Ordered a large pizza to go. Sausage tasted and looked like Keilbasa, cheese was a version of cheap mozzarella, and mushrooms were hard to locate. Had no idea this was a franchise, I avoid franchises as much as possible due to the fact that real quality ingredients seem to lack in these places. Good pizza and pasta are not prepared by manchia cakes, especially in this area!

We called 4 times on a Monday afternoon to order pizza and salad, and each time a girl answered with Spagetti House. Please hold. I spent over 5 minutes on hold as I tried to get through. I'm honestly surprised at the negative reviews. We get pizza from the Spaghetti House every few weeks or so and have been for a year since we moved to Peterborough. I've lived in a lot of cities in Canada and this is some great pizza and great service. The owner is always in making sure things are done well and it shows in the quality pizza. The prices are fair as well. 4 topping large for $20 is awesome. Highly recommended.

Huge meat ball! Generous portions for the large size pasta and for the price. Meat ball can use a bit less salt and home made meat sauce will need to add a bit sugar to my taste! We added a bit salt in the alfredo sauce Chicken mushroom pasta, then it taste great! Very yummy spices though for both pasta!

Caesar salad the best ever. Small place that gives huge portions. You get a lot of yum for your money. Service great. Decor dated but who cares!

The atmosphere is reasonable but both the food and service are not up to par. My girlfriend recently had chicken Parmesan and politely mentioned to the waitress that the chicken seemed under-cooked. Rather than discreetly getting her a new dish, the waitress literally yelled to the back kitchen (from the dining area) of the chicken being under cooked! I felt so bad for the other patrons that were within earshot. I had spaghetti and can't say it was anything special in any respect. East Side or Boston Pizza is miles ahead of this spot when it comes to traditional Italian dishes. We won't be back.

This place was so bad it became comical. This was our first time here. We were celebrating my Stepson's bday and he chose this restaurant. It was very busy (which we took as a good sign). There were 5 of us, so it took a little while to get seated. No problem at all.. There was only one waitress working, and she was clearly over worked and stressed. We felt bad for her. She finally took our order, we ordered a pitcher of water and lemon, and our meals. It took forever for everything. Finally the water arrived, no lemon (fine), but only enough water to fill each glass halfway. Our meals took forever to arrive. Other people in the restaurant got up and left by this point. Our dinner finally arrived, the waitress actually spilled some pasta on our stepson (didn't even apologize) He ordered shrimp in his pasta, big surprise, they didn't come. The waitress brought it to the table smothered in cheese (which he didn't want). None of us received any garlic bread which was supposed to be complimentary. Our dinner took almost 3 hours! She never came back and asked if we wanted/needed more water, or asked how everything was. They never apologized for anything, in fact, my husband got a dirty look when she saw how much he tipped the waitress. If it was me, she wouldn't have received a tip at all!! Needless to say, we won't be eating here again anytime soon!

Spaghetti sauce tasted like chef Boyadee ,chef special salad was lettuce onion and two pieces of cucumber for 6.95. Pizza crust was burnt and the fettuccini was bland. The decor could be a candidate for Hell’s Kitchen.

Ok...so my wife and I decided to stop at this little place across from the PMC arena. We noticed the parking lot was full so thought we would give it a shot. Well. .I ordered the chicken parm and my wife had the spaghetti special. Both our meals were absolutely excellent. Hot and tasty. The best chicken parm i have ever had. The portion size was super size, even when my wife ordered a small serving. We both laughed .Our server Tabatha? was friendly and efficient. The place isn't pretty but it's well worth having a great meal at a great price. 5 stars....and we will go back for sure thanks

Nice staff and the owner is a nice guy. Don't be duped by the other reviews though, the "Montreal" style pizza that they are proud off means cooking toppings UNDER the cheese. The meat is not caramelized and soggy. The dough is too soft and has a doughy texture. Will not return.

I would have givin a 5 star for sure if they didnt put olives on my Greek salad. I requested no olives. Lol but 5 star for everything else from friendly to amazing tasty pasta which I had been seeking out in Peterborough with disappointment until now. I ordered veal and spaghetti. Delicious and I ate half of it. Huge portions. The develery took an hour . I always believe if it's too fast it's not auethetic. It was delivered really hot and 2 delivery guys together both of them were kind .

Incredible food. Their dipping sauce is homemade and tastes like being in Italy. The staff was extremely pleasant and welcoming. My sister and I were waiting for an hour for our taxi and the staff offered to drive us home. I will absolutely be back!!!!

We went for dinner on a snowy Saturday night with freezing rain Jan 25,2020. Was worth the drive. From phoning to check the menu with ( possibly the owner - male answered) to showing up at the restaurant. We had missed a rush for sure. Kayla was most welcoming and even cleaned off a table we choose happily and swiftly (even though there were clean ones available). The food was good, hearty and filling. Great portions for a reasonable price. Kudos to the owners & staff, I will return ! A+++

On Saturday May 27,2017, Ilir catered our wedding and it was absolutely amazing! The food was great and hot, not like warm like most buffets I've been to! I definitely recommend Old Spaghetti House! I know he made all my guest very very full and happy!

Slowest service ever over 1 hour to get food not particularly good unless you enjoy eating a salt block choked some down to fill hole and went home and ate cereal way more satisfying . Staff was rude and table of four beside us left before their food arrived as they were fed up with the nonsense .

If I could give a lower rating I would went on a Saturday after the market, took an hour for our first meal of four. Our party of four was litterly served one at a time..no apologies service was terrible, dining room filthy. The real flaw was when I got home my son and husband were vomitting. Won't be back will not recommend and will warn people of my experience.

Aug 8th lunch, very slow service & for 1st hour the 3 of us were the ONLY customers. Male server came to table with soiled clothing , some kind of batter on hands, had to be asked to wipe table, just dropped cutlery on table for us to sort out. About 5 minutes between each person getting our lunches served. He just dropped one meal mid table without I dictating whose it was. Food adequate. We should have left. I had to go up to till to ask for bill & ever then had to wait. Won't go there again !!
