I was a day visitor in Peterborough during the lockdown and was looking for eating something that satisfies my taste buds. I was in the mood of trying out Mediterranean cuisine and came across OMG in the search. It was not really totally OMG on eating! I was satisfied with the taste of chicken shawarma sandwich, that was indeed really very nice (but not enough for serving one person for lunch). However, I also wanted to try falafel since a long time so I ordered it , turned out not so great! It was way too oily and I would not at all recommended it! Overall an average experience.

I always leave this place feeling a compelling need to write the best review I can for OMG! The food is absolutely fantastic and I often find myself losing track of just how much and how fast I’m eating! This is a special phenomenon I’ve experienced very few other times wherein the flavours of the meal is so balanced that I’m completely engorged in eating that nothing else seems to matter quite as much as the experience of eating that particular dish. I always get the chicken shawarma platter, but that’s not to say that I haven’t had anything else on the menu. Everything I’ve had is absolutely fantastic and I can’t recommend this spot enough. The man who I believe is an owner always remembers me, I keep forgetting to get his name, but he is such a pleasant person who just wants to deliver the best food that he can make! All the sauces are made in-house and harmonize beautifully with the food. Please, make sure you stop in and give this place a try. I’m sure anyone would love the food here!

Good tasting food but the smallest portions especially salad! One part of are order was a dinner for 2 people but the portion was TINY. The salad was almost none existant, it wasn't enough for my husband and a 5 year old. I get you try and stretch stuff out times are hard. But you are not gaining customers with the portions. 2 table spoons of salad is not enough for 1 person let alone 2.

First time ordering from here and likely won’t again. $6 for Babaganoush appetizer and received cold pita, and only ONE piece. Got two “On The Rocks”. Small portions, hardly any chicken. El Caminos does it 100% better with a good portion size. Called to ask about portion sizes and received bad customer service. I now know what OMG stands for... OMG never ordering again.

They are perfectly balanced in taste and not too sour/vinegary. If you're looking for a solid chicken Shwarma and chicken Tawook sandwich, this is the place to go. Not only are they priced very fairly, but they are also very decent in size, so you are getting your monies worth. The chicken is cooked well and had great flavor.

Tiny portions, I almost thought maybe the lady who made my chicken shawarma salad just accidently grabbed the wrong size "to go container". But after reading similar reviews I was stumped. I am betting I got 2 cups of lettuce with some toppings, and maybe 1/2 to 3/4s of a chicken thigh cut up on top, for $14.10. I wont be back as they should be embarrassed serving such small portions for inflated prices. *The food tastes great thought* I wont be recommending you guys to anyone until you work on your portions, the rest of downtown Peterborough is killing it at portion sizes/$$

Finally got parking in front of the store, ordered a big shawarma wrap to go. Very little chicken, minimal veggies and when I asked for hummus, she mumbled something pointing at the garlic sauce. She said “ok” but just put more garlic sauce and closed the wrap put it on the grill. Nothing is hot at the end because she put way too much lettuce than actual chicken. I swear to god I’d never go back there not worth it anymore, so cheap and how much exactly it costs you to put hummus on the wrap.

Not happy with my first time eating here. Asked for no onions in my shawarma platter, it even was written on the box that the food came in, and there were onions in the salad. My boyfriend and I ordered a fatoush salad and agreed to pay more, and neither of our salads we're fatoush. Also, the rice and garlic sauce had no flavour and was very bland overall. And to top it off, there was burnt shawarma chicken in the platter. Not happy with any part of this order, waste of money.

This is one of the better Shawarma places that you could find in Peterborough, outside of what you could get in the Greater Toronto Area. The shawarma platter is a colourful assortment of pickles and peppers and other bright vegetables; the sauces and tahini are great, and the chicken isn't dry.

The owner is super friendly.. offering tabouleh in lieu of the typical amount of falafels.. just a considerate extra gesture! The falafel is amazing and the hot sauce is pretty special. I got some equally bomb kafta. Worth getting off the highway for a snack :)

I grew up in the middle east. This reminded me of home. The food was very delicious and tasty. I tried the stuffed grape leaves, baba ganoush, shawarma platter, beef kabab and fries. Every single thing was delicious. Only negative is that the portion sizes are small. We ordered dinner for 2, and it was quite little.

The food was fresh, clean, and very tasty. My dinner companion had the Falafel platter and he reported it was the best that he's ever tasted. I on the other hand had the chicken shawarma and again the meat was moist, flavorful and incredibly satisfying. How many restaurants do you go to where the cook comes over to your table and asks how things are? If you're like me that doesn't happen very often. However here at OMG the owner came by shortly after I had my meal and inquired about the quality of the dinner. Attention to detail makes for a very warm and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend this simple yet very satisfying eating establishment.

I noticed all restaurants have been doing this because of the pandemic and I dont know how theyre expecting to have loyal customers. My experience here is always amazing. The falafel wraps and plates are delicious and consistent in quality and taste! The portions are huge for what you pay and the flavors are never lacking. Best falafel in Peterborough if you ask me. The staff are also incredibly kind and I've had lovely conversations with them every time I visit. Great place to dine if you're craving for some real good Arab food. Had a chicken shawerma from OMG and it was juicy and delicious. Chicken was really well cooked. Hummus and garlic sauce were in right proportions. An important rule about shawermas which most restaurants forget, chicken should be the star of the show, and it was rightly so. Only thing I missed in my shawerma were those french fries, which was one of major ingredients for a shawerma in Saudi Arabia, where I grew up. I really want my French fries in my shawerma. Update:- Dined here again, and the taste was spot on just like my previous visit. Juicy meat, very well cooked, friendly service. And, this time, I asked them add fries in my shawerma, and so they did. It was fabulous. Deserves a 5 star rating without a second thought!

Went to get a Caesar salad added the chicken Shawarma total cost came to $14.00 for the smallest salad you have ever seen, for that price I thought I would have gotten a good size salad. I should of went to Taso's for a real Caesar salad were I know the portion would have been worth the money. Never going back to OMG!!!

Very disappointed with the item I received through DoorDash this evening. The chicken on the rocks in the photo was nothing like what arrived at my door. I would’ve questioned if any tahini or garlic sauce was on my order. Maybe I got unlucky. But I contemplated ordering from here for a while and finally decided to try it out because the photos provided looked quite good. That wasn’t the case. The food honestly tasted fairly good but I’ve had larger sized orders from other local shawarma restaurants, for a better price, and much more flavor (with more sauces). Maybe I’ll give it another shot, not in the near future though.

Same great flavour tho and they are generous with condiments like pickled turnip which helps make up for the 50% price hike. Popular with the lunchtime crowd and the only restaurant near City Hall. Recommend a try.

For starters, the garlic sauce is probably one of the better ones I have had at any place. It has a whipped consistency (unlike many other places I have been to), is not too overpowering of garlic, and tastes great. I am a fan of pickled turnips so I always make sure to order a side of them. They are perfectly balanced in taste and not too sour/vinegary. If you're looking for a solid chicken Shwarma and chicken Tawook sandwich, this is the place to go.

So disappointing. The first time I went here with my girlfriend, we had a great experience. The employee provided us a generous portion when we asked for small fries and did a great job on making a great wrap. But then we went again for a second time on Friday January 8th...... Well the second time was just absolutely terrible. First, the lady barely put any toppings on even though we kept asking for more. Second, the lady put barely any chicken on the wraps. Third, we ordered large fries this time and barely got any fries in our container. The fries didn’t even touch the rim of the container it was in. We literally got more fries when we ordered a small compared to a large. Lastly, the wraps were not heated long enough, they were cold. When I inquired to ensure we actually received a large fries since it looked like we barely got any fries, the lady confirmed that it was in fact the “large” fries. Additionally, she didn’t even wrap the shawarma properly. I’m not sure what happened to this place but disappointed and frustrated doesn’t even cover how myself and my girlfriend feel about this experience.

Oasis Mediterranean Grill is a newcomer to the downtown restaurant scene but has quickly established itself as the #1 Persian food joint in the area. The food is excellent, fresh, and expertly prepared. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the food they are cooking. The owner is generally behind the counter and has always been in a good mood. Portion sizes are excellent and the price reflects the amount of food you get. Some people may be put off by the prices if they don't actually see the amount of food they get. My go to meal is called "On the Rocks" and is excellent on a bed of freshly made fries or rice. OMG only loses one star because it's usually stifling hot (winter or summer) and the prices are a tad too high. I, and likely others, would probably trade a slightly smaller portion with a slightly lower price tag. Probably the best addition to the downtown Peterborough restaurant scene in the last 5 years.

Delicious fries and falafel! Awesome crunchy texture on the outside. We had the family combo between 4 adults and a child. Portion size was appropriate for the price, 33$. Only down side is there was no high chair for the toddler. Would like to see them have one. Other than that they were very friendly, service was quick and flavors were great. The chicken kebab was superbly seasoned. And like I said before. The best fries I've had in a long time. First time I've seen a shawarma poutine. I'm trying that when I return.

I had read about a Syrian Refugee opening a restaurant in December, but could not remember the name. Rediscovered it today and had to try it as the reviews were all so positive. Bought a selection of things for dinner tonight and my company tomorrow. Oh my everything was so flavourful and delicious. The Hummous, Vine Leaves, Shawarma, Babaganoush, falafal, absolutely everything was delicious. We will be back many many times I am sure. How great to have such a lovely restaurant making fresh and delightful flavours.

What it be, what it do. Welcome back to another JJAZ food review!!!. OMG, OMG is the best mediterranean place in Peterborough. I would highly recommend the chicken shawarma platter with fries and rice. The food was served fresh and met with exceptional service. The fries were amazing, and the chicken was very tender. Portion sizes were way too small for the price. We ordered two platters for delivery and there was almost no salad in either of them. They had put salad dressing on when it was prepared so the salad was pretty much soggy by the time we ate it. Chicken was dried out and chewy. Hardly any sauce on the rice.

Such great food! My partner and I got some takeout from these folks last night- two falafel plates- and wow! So good. The falafels were fresh and perfectly seasoned, the veggies were crisp and the sauces flavourful! The folks working there were very attentive and polite, and the order was made quite quickly. They also use a GreenWorks spray to wipe the tables- I love it. I highly recommend trying this place. I've only had the falafel but I can only imagine the rest is on par. Will be going back soon.

I had the Shawerma chicken sandwich. Was good but I think the sandwich will even taste better if the meat on the skewer cut by a knife manually, the machine used cuts the chicken to very small shreds insignificant and therefore lacks the traditional taste. Very clean restaurant and professional staff

This might be my favourite restaurant in town. Every single item I've tried has been stellar. Highlights include the chicken shawarma platter, the shawarma poutine (with real cheese curds!), the falafel (fried fresh to order every time), and the samosas. Oh, and the divine baklava! And the staff are always warm and welcoming. Peterborough is blessed to have OMG.
