Mark Haynes

I had a great time with tempura and shrimp flower. It was very fast to serve my orders. I was very satisfied with the food and their services.

Andyman4hire

Amazing place for AYCE sushi! Huge selection, lots of veggie options, well-priced, and everything is delicious :) Staff are super friendly too, would definitely recommend checking Madoi out

Angelo Garcia

Very good food and with the great service, which could have been due to the time I came. This place really deserves its 5 stars, and I would recommend anyone looking for a kind of cheap restaurant but amazing food quality, this is your place. The ambience the interior gave was also very nice

Christina Schmidt

The food is great......when it comes. The wait staff are running around like crazy. Meanwhile theres like 6 guys behind the sushi counter having a lax ol time, they couldn't possibly help out. We were there for over an hour and a half with kids and we were still waiting for over half our order. Which sucks because the food is otherwise good. We will probably sacrifice quality for service a little more next time we are looking to go out for sushi. Too bad guys!

Mr Zuzu

This is my absolute favourite place to get sushi in town. The rice is immaculate, the service is quick and friendly, and the menu is deep and well-worth exploring. Highlights for me are the beef short-rib, and the Awesome Roll. Edit: they've recently added bánh mì sandwiches, and they are SO GOOD.

Elaine Trotter

Had amazing experience here. Good, healthy and fresh meal with cheap deals. Definatally gonna visit again.

Mercury

Our favorite sushi restaurant. The whole family loves Madoi. Great variety, portions and always fresh.

Kachina Sherman (Karnia)

Food is very good here. Nice and fresh. The owner is super nice. Highly recommend this restaurant for all you can eat sushi.

Azim Hoque

I love this place. The prices are awesome and the service is VERY fast. I highly recommend the all-you-can-eat option. Try some new things that you've never had. The menu here is enormous. Food is great quality and the staff are all very well trained.

Anthony Ridding

Been a fan of Japanese and Korean food for years. This is the worst restaurant we’ve ever been to. The coconut shrimp, satay chicken and another chicken dish were virtually inedible. I only gave it 2 stars because of the passable sushi, Covid and the two pleasant lady servers. In fairness this was several weeks ago and they may have improved

Jacob Northey

Today i just came to madoi with my girlfriend. We did few new dishes from wok. The beef black pepper was yummy with us. We definitely will come back again. One more thing is sushi and sassimi was fresh and good decoration. Thank for sever team today.

Maple Shine

Really bad service and the sushi didn't taste fresh. We ordered several dishes that never came out, and the waitress gave us the wrong kind of sushi. After waiting 40 minutes we asked for the bill and the waitress didn't even try to reassure us that our food was coming. Terrible experience.

Kênh Giải Trí

The worst experience ever. My husband ordered 1 fried shrimp and they said no he ordered 4 of them. So we hear them at the next table saying the didn't order that many and the person who works there said of there was a computer glitch. I never got any of my food. This was our anniversary and it turned out crappy. Never going back

Alexander James

Ate 3.5 lbs of sushi, came home and slept for 10 hours and missed work. WORTH IT

Redeye

A great concept! All you can eat high end Asian food, but not from a steam tray. There is a tablet on the table and you order individual servings of whatever you want, whenever you want, and magically someone brings it it to your table. …

Holli Wilson

This Sushi restaurant is one of the best I have been to The service is very exceptional and the owner is #1in my books I would recommend this place for your sushi experience

Shinbu Uchiha (Tokomaru)

Love going here for sushi. The staff are amazing, the restaurant is always extremely clean. No major complaints. The odd time I've ordered something and it didn't end up getting delivered to my table. However, these are just minor errors. We're all human. We all make mistake. I'll continue to rate them 5/5 stars until they stop being amazing.

Mat Crouthers

Best sushi I've ever had. A truly amazing experience.

Arsalan Khan

Sushi was delicious and fresh. However what really impressed me tonight was the customer service that went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our meal. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Ordered through skip the dishes so I can't really speak for the in person service. Maki rolls were good, but a little large to the point where they were hard to eat. My main reason for the poor review is how incredibly awful the Kani/crab salad was. I've ordered this dish from several sushi places, even made it myself a couple times, and never had a bad time with it. I thought it must be impossible to mess this dish up. But this salad felt like they forgot to prepare it. Salad was almost entirely lettuce and very little crab. The crab was just tossed on top in chunks. The sauce wasn't even mixed in, but I do understand some places do this with delivery. It just felt like they threw everything into a styrofoam container in a rush and sent it out... will not be ordering from here again sadly.

David Dowden

The food is pretty good. I went for lunch, and the service was a bit slow, although that seems common to all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants. Customer Service was decent and there were lots of menu options.

Min Jung Kim

Go for all you can eat pretty well everytime I'm in Peterborough. Friendly staff and great food. Love the tablets

Eleanor Robar Holdcroft

If you enjoy sushi avoid this place. Sushi was sloppy and uneven. The special rolls were horrible - they attempted to make them tasty but the end result was a conflicted flavour clash that was inedible. They further threatened to charge for leftovers from their inedible rolls after paying buffet prices and only ordering one round. Fortunately before I lost my temper that backed down from the extra charge. Highly disappointing.

Matt Rowlandson

This restaurant is pretty mediocre. Their sushi is alright at best, and their assortment of Korean, Japanese and Chinese staples leave you wishing the taste was better.

Jeremy Pajot

I always enjoy coming to Madoi! Every time I’ve been here the fish is always fresh, the rice is consistently some of the best I’ve had, the the service is fantastic, and the restaurant is just a great fit for the downtown area. I can tell that the employees and owners care about the restaurant because there appears to be lots of friendly communication between all staff, but also the food continues to get better each time I go. The cooks continue to improve upon their skills because the food gets more and more refined with each visit. They have yet to serve me anything unsatisfactory. This place is fantastic and I will continue to recommend this place. A friend of mine from Japan ate here with me and he said that he preferred the sushi from this restaurant to the sushi in Japan because it was more fun. This is, and will continue to be, the best western sushi experience I’ve had.

Matt Astell

We stumbled upon this place while shopping and had a great lunch. It was fast and delicious. The only issue was that the salmon popper was not good at all. We sent it back with no issues and just ordered something else instead. Service was friendly and warm.

Peterborough has a decent amount of sushi places, but a lot of them aren't that great. This place is an exception to that rule and I would argue is the best all you can eat sushi in town. There are by the plate (or boat) options in town which are on the same playing field, but if you're looking to get stuffed on all you can eat sushi, then Madoi is where you want to go. My main gripe with Madoi is the rolls. They have a lot of spicy crunchy rolls, but no equivalents that aren't spicy.

Joshua Kubinec

Madoi. What's there to say about Madoi, really? Personally, I've never once had a bad experience here - the food has always been wonderful, presented beautifully, and at more than a fair price. I've gone with friends, family, and my fiancee …

Omar Atw

Great food, good service, good prices! Conveniently located downtown close to the bus stop with a bit of parking out back. Their tempura is top notch! They also have electronic ordering, so even if you have anxiety, or otherwise have difficulty communicating, you can still order!

Sophia Le

When I read the reviews on this restaurant, I took them with a grain of salt as not everyone likes sushi. However in this case it was absolutely horrible food! I can not stress this enough! As soon as we sat down the wasabi looked brownish like it had been sitting out all day, anything that was fried was so over cooked and over salted, and the sashimi was not fresh....room temperature and a little slimy. I can honestly say that I have had better sushi from the pre-made section at metro. When we expressed to the server that the food was terrible and the service just about as good....he didn’t even say sorry....just told us to call the owner. Will never return and hope that you read this and don’t waste your time or money at this place!

Mark Sedgwick

This is my all time favorite place to get macaroons. They are absolutely stunningly beautiful they taste delicious. I make a 2hr trip every month to purchase $300+ of macaroons with my coworkers. Their employees are amazing, so helpful and sweet. I tried their new tiramisu and it was amazing. Keep being amazing and producing a superior product that is well worth the money!!!

Isaac

Awesome food! Very fair prices! Tasted very fresh and came out quickly. Service was great, super friendly staff, got my drinks right away and food came at a fair time. I really like the tablets, server helped with all my questions. Highly recommended, it's my go-to sushi place ❤ personlly the only one I will ever go to in Peterborough ????

Sonu Singh

Food was great, service was good but I didn't like customers were getting their own icecream. Some guys did not have mask will serving themself. I will definitely come back but won't be having icecream.

JessieKin Lie

Food was good, however they had buffet style dessert section open and people going up to get ice cream using same ice cream scoops. If 50 people a day use the ice cream scoop the virus will sperad nicely.

This place was SO GOOD! I'm usually a Matsu sushi kind of person because the quality is fantastic and I generally find with all you can eat it's not there - which is expected. But this was a very nice surprise considering it was our first time. Service was awesome. Food was so good! Prices were more than fair and the salad bar wasan added bonus. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone!

Dhaval Nanera (nanera)

Great disappointment just left there after the most disappointing experience. Have eaten there a few times and been good today was the total opposite. Things floating in the soya sauce was the start and when the manager tried to explain it was ginger i asked to see the other bottles with ginger. There were none. I also unscrewed the top and it was extremely dirty. Next food on menu is not what you get and they had an excuse for that. We changed the item and not the picture. He then proceeded to bring me two frozen shumai one pork and one shrimp and proceeded to explain the difference minimal apology and tried to make it like there was no problem. I wont be back anytime soon

Erik Miles

Great all you can eat sushi - for Peterborough. I lived in Toronto for 40 years, there are better but Madoi hit the spot without the 80 minute drive. Staff are friendly and the food comes out FAST - almost too fast! We had no room on our table multiple times throughout the meal. I will return.

Kimberley Urquhart

I have been here several times. Food is always good. Today I wasn’t impressed. I treated my friend to lunch after her long hospital stay. We were told we had one hour to be in the restaurant and they set the timer.. stated it was because they could only have 11 people in the restaurant at one time. Ok fine but there was only one other table being used with two patrons. The temperature was very hot and uncomfortable almost on purpose to get people to leave. The server wasn’t friendly at all.. 50.00 for two people and we felt very rushed to leave once we got our food. I won’t go back.

Kelli Buckley

Came here on a whim with my husband. My cousin was coincidentally at the door meeting friends and recommended the food. We ordered the all you can eat lunch. He is allergic to fish so we ordered vegetarian, chicken and shrimp dishes. Everything was amazing and were very satisfied. We ate so much we will be rolling back to the van. We plan on returning. Highly recommend this place.

Czarina Garcia

Madoi is my favorite sushi restaurant in Peterborough. It's all you can eat so I can stuff my face but it manages to keep similar quality to other sushi places with menus. If you're looking for something that is quality for what you pay then Madoi is the place. Only negative thing I have to say is you order on iPads and sometimes they don't work, but besides that it's very nice. 4/5 stars.

Shaquille Young (Shaderry)

Great place to eat!! Staff was great. Food was excellent quality and very quick. Price was very reasonable for what you get. Good selection. Can't say anything bad about this restaurant.

Joe DiGiuseppe

The food at Madoi has always been amazing! Their AYCE has always been great but since the pandemic we have been ordering take out from them and their food and customer service is great!! Definitely my favourite sushi in Peterborough!!

Iaiana Ford

As a vegan sometimes it can be hard to find a good place to eat. Madoi never disappoints. There is a large selection of foods that I can eat and even though I eat there about once a week, I never get bored!

Melissa Luther Pendragon

I ordered take out on Feb. 8/20. It was ready for me as soon as I got there which was a plus. The man manning the front desk was really friendly and nice. This is why I gave Madoi 2 stars instead of 1. My issue is with the food. It was okay but certainly nothing great. I ordered three combos and a side of sashimi. The total came to $48.00. I thought that was great. With a combo, I expected a salad and a miso soup to be included as that was what was explained to me when I was on the phone with the restaurant. I picked up my order and pay only to find out the $48.00 was for literally six (five piece) roles and a side of three pieces of sashimi. I had to spend an extra $18.00 for three miso soups and two house salads. I also overheard another couple was charged $66.00 for two adult meals. I enjoy spending more for good food but for the price, I do not recommend this restaurant.

George Kenneth Johnston-Lunn

I ordered the short ribs and the combo came with fried Rice and Gyoza. Everything was still hot and tasted amazing! The ribs were very tender and the fried rice was delicious. The vegetables under the ribs were so good. I'm very happy with my order from Madoi.

Sarah Mourning

So I went for lunch on a Friday afternoon around 2:30. The food was good. Not bad, but not amazing. Pricey but good. The problem I had was that I was waiting a long time for food when it was slightly busy. I ordered some dumplings later when it wasn't busy, and waited 40 minutes for those. I knew they took awhile so I asked about them. Then they were brought to me right away. A kind server said that they were just sitting there, admitted their fault, and apologized. That was nice, however there were 5 or 6 other servers walking around (some running through the place like children) when there were only 2 or 3 tables full, and not one of them was able to bring me my food when it was ready. That is inexcusable. At least one professional server dis apologize and said she would let them know. Overall, decent food but unprofessional staff. Would have been 2 stars if that one waitress wasn't kind and apologetic.

Mark Schindel

For $30 totally worth it!!! I ordered a pork chop (1 piece) from "one fine food" cost $29! This one is a heaven for students in Trent!

Susie Fischer

Located in Peterborough,Madoi Restaurant is a place one must feast...a huge variety of Japanese cuisine at your fingertips to delight your taste buds on delicious food. Service is courteous and the food comes fast and fresh.

Lucy A

A bit chaotic, but our server got us a table and the service after was great. Food was amazing. Would be 5 stars if the servers communicated better.

M A

My favourite restaurant! Hands down the best place to go, food is amazing and comes quick and staff and so nice and attentive.

Federico Chaux

We live close and wanted to try this place for the past year. The greeter was exceptionally polite and informative. The restaurant is clean and open. The tablet not so much. It was fingerprinted and sticky. Those things could use a wipe down between customers with some anti bacterial wipes or something. Both paper napkins had soy sauce splashed on them at some point but things happen. The food was mediocre at best. Admittedly we got mostly fried stuff by the time we got to the sushi menu felt we'd ordered enough. Firstly, what they call tempera batter is NOT tempera batter it's some sort of breading. Eveything we ate had some flavour that was very nasty. Maybe something in the cooking oil? Sort of like fried dicon radish? Anyway we did not get our money's worth though I knew the price going in. We both feel nauseous after eating. We were very disappointed and will not recommend or return.

Andrew Foster

I ordered the Madoi sushi combo 1 from skipthedishes which asks you to select a type of 6 piece roll and 8 piece roll. I received 6 pieces of that selection but only 5 pieces of the 8 piece selection... feeling very ripped off right now.

Peggy Fan

I love going here! The staff are friendly, the all you can eat pricing is fair (keep in mind it's different on different days of the week), and the doordash pricing is excellent! My only complaint is sometimes my food isn't quite as cold as I would like.

Max power

This is my second visit and both times the food has been great, service was very fast and great atmosphere. Reasonable portions and compared to other local all you can eat sushi in town, this one is my favourite

Plato

The food is good they are quick to bring order. I like that they give you a tablet for your orders instead of wasting paper. The wait staff are friendly and good with keeping drinks topped up.

Jeff Craft

Very good service. Good prices. Tasty food

Tagmayne

Food wasn't that good. Super expensive for all you can eat. Hockey sushi is 100% better. Service was sub par as well.

We ate in for all you can eat sushi. You are given a tablet to place your orders. The tablet remains at your table the whole time. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. They offer French fries on their menu for picky kids. There are many, many options to choose from. We ordered everything from Miso soup to green dragon rolls. Everything came to the table fairly quickly. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

I visited twice after the renovation. The quality and atmosphere were good, the staffs were very friendly and ready to help. I really enjoyed the food here, especially salmon sushi!

Troy Greer

Madoi is hands down the best sushi place that I've been to in Peterborough... or at all for that matter. There are some other places that are good, however, there are so many qualities that just make Madoi better in so many ways. First off, their soya sauce is home made and AMAZING. It's not as salty as Kikoman tends to be, which I prefer because it doesn't take away from the amazing sushi you're eating. My highest recommendations would be their Yam Maki, Avocado Maki, Custard Buns (which you may have to specially request depending on the menu for the time of day) and the ribs - yes ribs. Awesome ribs at a sushi place, there really is something for everyone! Also, the servers are SO so kind. I find I am always served quickly, and with a smile. It really makes the whole experience positive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful and I always leave with a smile. P.S. - for all those health junkies (including myself) looking for healthy food options when eating out, sushi is very healthy and some is even vegitarian and vegan friendly! I. Love. Madoi. :)

Braulio Salgado Cienfuegos

Great place to eat. The food is absolutely amazing.. The service was fast. And for the price its value for money. I would love to go there again ????

Adam S

This review is an edit to a previous 4 star. Tonight May 4th 2018, the service was awful, the server condescending to my wife and when we went to pay the cashier full of excuses that were plainly false by looking around the 'busy' dining room with no more than 6 tables occupied. I doubt we'll be back.

Yashar Morabbi

No recommended Staffs at madoi was helpfull and friendly. However, food are below standard. Today visit is a great disappointment. Chefs are careless and horrible. Too bad bc i was with madoi before, but after this, i won't comeback

Alex DiMarco (DiMarcoTech)

I used to love this place but this is the 4th time my food was bad. I usually get the general Tsao with rice. The past few times my food has been cold and the chicken cooked to the point of being hard leather. Last night's was cold but at least not over cooked. Its made me really sick. About half an hour after I started eating I got the spins. Cold sweats and cramps. This morning I've got really bad cramps & feel intoxicated. I'm afraid I cant eat there any longer. :( Whats happened to this place.?

Zuzu Petals

Our first AYCE Sushi since moving to Ptbo and I'm happy to say it was excellent!! Great staff and very tasty!!

Heath Sterling

Quick and efficient service. Food tasted good and employees were all wearing masks and the place was kept clean. There was a mistake with our order which was quickly rectified without hassle. Came in for lunch and was not disappointed.

wilhoyle

Gone downhill. My girl and I had visited last Saturday for the AYCE sushi. Most of the items we ordered didn’t arrive at our table and the items that did were horrible. The miso soup was like water, no garnish, no love. Our avocado salad was definitely plated the day before, brown lettuce, brown avocado and limp vegetables. The tempura vegetables in our rolls was hard and dry, reminiscent of chewing on wood chunks. Just terrible food, there was not one thing we could say was decent. Upon leaving, the manager asked how our experience was, to which we promptly expressed our dissatisfaction. He assured us that he would speak to the kitchen and NEXT time things would be better. He then proceeded to take our money. Mr Manager, there will be no next time, you were given the opportunity to rectify the situation and you fell short. Do yourself a favour, go to the grocery store, buy all the fixings to make sushi and bake it yourself, it won’t be amazing but at least it will be fresh and you won’t be visiting the toilet fir 3 days after

Rob Carew

Quite possibly the worst sushi experience I've ever had. I have eaten at restaurants across the country, and I believe I would have enjoyed gas station sushi more. …

Michael Frederick

Food is always great. They do an amazing job even when busy!

Ludmila Schnaider

I have to say their sushi and sashimi exceeded my expectations. We were here for dinner on a Saturday night, the place was packed. Their maki and rolls was just so so, but the torched salmon sushi and salmon sashimi hit the spot for me.

Stephen Stone

Food was amazing and service was great/friendly. Some of the food came pretty late with no indication when it was coming so it was hard to track what was coming still if you wanted to order more, but always came fresh. This is the best place to eat sushi in Peterborough. I will be coming back here every time for my sushi fix.

David P

Outstanding Japanese food and even better service. Great atmosphere too.

Alec Mok

Great spot for all you can eat sushi, service is quick and friendly and a nice brand new interior since the renovations. Food is bang on, best sushi I've had in PTBO

Ann-Majella McKelvie

1.Almost everything is fried here. If not fried - it's greasy. My stomach shut down for the day after eating here. 2.You can smell the toilets from where are you seated. 3.You can also smell the chemicals they use to clean the tables. Very strong odour! =Not eating here anymore. It's fun ordering with a tablet, and it's all you can eat. But, all I could smell was not food. Fried food that is.

Mae Brecht

I came here so many times with my friends and enjoyed the food and service. The servers were really nice and cared about us although we are foreigners which made us very happy we experienced bad service in another sushi restaurant in Ptbo. The price is acceptable and they serve variety of food and desert. I can also save the points for free meals also which is great. It is a great place to recommend for others.

Jan Moo

I honestly love this place so much. It is a tad pricey but that's how everything is now. The staff is wonderful the food is wonderful the fried beans with garlic, beef rib, and vegetable stir fry are to die for ???? they also have the best miso soup I have ever had. Just love them; and hope the workers are treated respectfully by their boss and customers.

Ash

Best sushi in town, hands down. We always leave full and quite satisfied. The yam tempura roll is unreasonably good for such a simple menu item. This place is even better now that they have upgraded to tablet-based menus and ordering.

Mạnh Linh Lê

Good food, great sushi and options are very plentiful. I haven't yet had an issue with any kind of stomach upsets or otherwise so hygiene is also on point. Atmosphere is at times a little lacking with a sometimes questionable playlist in the background. I really don't wanna listen to Carly Rae Jepsen while eating sashimi, however as I said, the food typically is on point. The reason I say 'typically' is because unfortunately; it's not very consistent. There have been times when we've gone there to get the Chicken Yaki udon noodles and they've been sublime, then other times when they're swamped in onions and barely edible. Consistency is a definite issue that they need to resolve. There's also no dessert options except for ice-cream which is a big no-no, fresh desserts would finish an already very plentiful menu but no dessert at all, there are many who would fancy something sweet after a meal and something fresh, I feel it's something they're really missing out on, as well as being able to sell it on their takeout menu thus bolstering their sales a little more. I'd also like to add that their service is typically very friendly but also a little lax in the promptness department. We've had to wait a long time, sometimes on less busy days up to 15 minutes to be served which is unacceptable. Their service needs to be more on point, otherwise there's no hope for tips and it leaves a bad taste in the customer's mouth so to speak. Only one small bathroom can sometimes mean a wait to use it, they have more downstairs but they've had them closed now for some time and it's something that needs to be rectified. Overall a 3.5/5, the pity here is that so many of the improvements needed are simple fixes and simply overlooked by management, otherwise the sushi is worthwhile and all you can eat which is a redeeming quality but after the fact, it's a cheap all you can eat sushi joint, and what you'd expect for one at that. Edit: we went back there yesterday and if everything wasn't just overcooked, it also had onions galore. Literally It may as well be renamed to the onion cafe. Dismal experience, terrible food. Thankfully we didn't get sick. Complained and got attitude from the owner G-man. Will not be returning EVER and we were regulars once. If this is how they treat regulars they don't deserve to be in business period.

Jameson Pearson

I've been there a lot more than I'd like to admit and I've always had the best time eating there. The staff are friendly and always there to help, it does get a bit chaotic on the weekend so try to get there during the week. If you're in Peterborough, this is one of the places I recommend eating! Especially for all you can eat sushi!

Dean McLean

Love Madoi. New renovation looks great. The people are warm and friendly, and the service is always quick and courteous. Most importantly the food is delicious. Plus, I found myself without food for a lunch meeting. Called them an hour before I needed it to see if they would prepare a party platter for 10 people and have it delivered. Not only did they get it there with minutes to spare, It was extremely reasonably priced. Love these folks!

Dominique Ramdhanie

I'll be fair and say that most times I've gone here the experience was fair, but recently I had an experience that was so appallingly awful that I may never go back to Madoi again! My advice to anyone considering this sushi restaurant over all the others in Peterborough is this: Do NOT eat here if they are BUSY! ESPECIALLY if they take you to the separate alcove on the other side of the restaurant! The service was terrible. We were in an isolated room with 4 other tables, 2 of which came in before our group. All the tables left before we did! We got in before 7:30 pm and didn’t leave until close at 10 pm. The other tables around us were obnoxious and had to be rude to get attention before us, so I guess another lesson I give you is that the staff here only serve those who are rude! Don’t try to be nice, it’s not rewarded! We got tea, but it was only refiled one time. We had something happen that was almost COMICAL, a “good server, bad server” routine. One server was so annoyingly cold and bitter towards us when we pointed out kindly how we were still hungry and waiting for food. She also seemed pushed to irritation when we pointed out, rather angrily, that one of the meat dishes was cold, as if it was just sitting away from a heater for 30 minutes! I’m sorry Madoi staff, but YOU don’t get to have and ATTITUDE about that, the CUSTOMER does! Don’t serve me something that could make me sick and then have an attitude about it!!! No apology or anything just a “do you want another one?” Um…. no thanks! Wouldn’t want to wait another 30 minutes for it anyways, of which I’m sure 20 would be it sitting on a cold counter again! Then we had the “good server” come out, possibly because the bad server was talking behind our backs, to ask if everything is ok in a nice way as if this makes everything ok again. We also had both servers, and possibly the manager, come in and clean the other 4 tables around us instead of trying to get our food! They didn’t say a word to us; no remorse at all, great way to run a business! When the food finally got to our table (in irregular random bursts), it was adequate. After we finally got close to being full around closing time, we left and paid with no tip. There are times I wish you could just put a negative tip on the machine! If I ever go here again, it would probably be for the much cheaper lunch menu. The food might be quicker if it’s less busy.

Jim Ronholm

A delicious variety of food, and quick service!

I'm a huge sushi fan and have eaten at several sushi restaurants over the years. The quality of this was very low. I ordered miso soup and all I got was broth. No tofu, no onion, no seaweed, nothing but broth. The dynamite roll was sloppy and had way too much sauce. It made it soggy. The sushi popper (sushi pizza) was also very sloppy with way too much topping, it made it soggy and wet. The crab meat was not real. The seaweed Salad was excellent though. I ordered take out, so my suggestion would be to try the dining in with all you can eat so you can decide what you like, as I was very disappointed with what I got for my lunch today.

Dongjun Park

Highly recommend this restaurant. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I arrived at 9, the guy at the desk was happy to welcome us although they was almost close; that is a plus ????????

Jacob Jacobson

A lot of options here. It's not expensive at all comparing with sushi restaurants in Toronto and you can get a student discount here. Food comes slow. I wish they had unagi(BBQ eel) sushi. Overall Madoi is the best sushi all you can eat in Peterborough with a reasonable price. Pretty popular with students from surrounding areas. Recommend it.

C Yeoman

Absolutely amazing place. My friends and I love coming here. The food is great, the service is great, and the atmosphere is adorable. They recently renovated the place and it looks great inside. Ps. Their chicken is delicious.

I've never tried sushi, went as a lunch date to try something new. While I'm still not a fan of sushi I enjoyed the restaurant. I love the tablet idea to choose your food. The price was awesome, and service good too.

David Ribovski

Great service. Very good value for the party platter. Plus you get 10% off for cash takeout. We were happy to be able to go out for Sushi.

Food was fresh and super tasty. They have great good variety of sushi. I love the new perk that you can order with tablets. Staff were super friendly (:

Yana Jermisko

Okay this place is an all you can eat sushi lovers dream. The menu and selection is huge you'll have to come back at least a couple of times to try all the items. It's a fair price for what you're going to get. I would highly recommend this.

Excellent food and love the atmosphere, price is high, but you pay for quality and excellent service. Food comes to table quickly. Excellent experience both times i've been. Will be back for sure ????

This is the worst food I have ever eaten. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and honestly do not know what was in the order. It was overcooked, it was rubbery and aesthetically disgusting, it appeared to have been deep friend several times; there was. too much oil on the rice and the pan fried veggies. We had the order delivered; it was missing one order. When the restaurant was contacted they did correct the order and deliver the proper items an hour + after we had eaten the first delivery. Our first red flag should have been when the delivery man agreed that we check the order before he left. How this restaurant rates 5 stars is beyond me. I will never eat here again....

Jason Maurice

Great sushi and delicious salads! ???? My favorite sushi spot in Peterborough.

Erika Calhoun

Terrible service. Disgusting terrible food. I tried.. I really tried. I wanted to like this place solely because it's downtown and convenient and my friends love it. Of all the sushi places in town, this one has to be the worst. Even if you don't take the service into consideration (which fyi it's not very good), the food is terrible. We literally only got half the food we ordered, most of which tasted awful. One of the highlights of our meal was when we were served cold, uncooked chicken, which we sent back. It was returned to us a few minutes later simply microwaved, but still inedible. Of the food that was brought to us, it was either prepared incorrectly (i.e. what we were served did not match the menu descriptions) or was just straight up the wrong food. We tried multiple times to order a few dishes, the server would take our order and leave the table.. and would never bring us the food. Eventually she stopped returning all together, and left a mountain of dirty dishes on out table. This is the first time in my life I have ever left an all you can eat sushi restaurant this disappointed. Usually I eat until I am so full I fall into a sushi coma, true story. This time however, I did not feel I got my money's worth, but honestly didn't want to order anymore food; because realistically I either would not have got what I ordered or it would have been awful. Considering we were literally the only table there, in the middle of the day, I think it's pretty awful how long we waited for food we didn't even order. Towards the end of the meal put server disappeared. We waited for over 30 minutes for our bill. I tried to go up to the counter to pay, but she was nowhere to be found. On a positive note, the playlist they had on was banging.

Greg Parris

Most of the food here is enjoyable. It's great that they have tablets to order from so you can see the food before your order. A few things I ordered never showed up. Their chicken and sauces are amazing. The pork that I ordered and received tasted rancid. No desert options with lunch. Will stick to Hockey Sushi.

Curtis Weaver

Always good food and quick service everytime I'm there! New manager is extremely thoughtful and kind. Let us fill our takeout box because we accidentally ordered too much. Will be back!

Shaune Walt

Fresh, well made, prompt friendly service....some really inventive choices. Delicious!

Nayab Khokhar

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. It's a sushi heaven with the most friendly staff. Very clean environment and fair prices. If you go there once, you will definitely go back again.

Andrew Dietrich

Madoi has a great atmosphere and wonderful service. The meal is very fairly priced and on top of that every single page of the menu lets me know that I will be charged extra if I have left overs which reminds me not to waste food. For weeks I have seen they have a "hiring waitress" sign out so they must be short on staff and training new people, but the service is still excellent.

Jade Legacy

I’ve always loved Madoi and I went back after their renovations and WOW. The restaurant is so beautiful. Comfy and spacious booths. And the food? Absolutely fantastic! So happy Madoi is back up and running! Definitely the best sushi spot in Peterborough.

Ade Lilley

This place has good food (very fresh, clean-tasting, and well seasoned), and the waitress was very polite, helping with everything and offering a friendly greeting. However, 3 things to keep in mind here: -The food takes EXTREMELY long to come (Ipad ordering). I had to wait about 35 minutes for 2 small items (surf clam and mackerel), and I was running late by the time I received my order -They can and do get the orders incorrect. I ordered 2 pieces of mackerel, twice. Both times, only 1 came. -VERY high pricing; 25 dollars per person for all you can eat lunch. Would not recommend overall, but good food and waitress

Calvin Luong

Food was decent. Not the BEAT Sushi I've had, but not the WORST. Could use some improvements such as getting a dessert menu, playing decent eating music (I love Leona lewis but really? At a sushi bar?). They go really hard on the sauces. Everything tasted like mayonnaise at the end. Fish was pretty fresh, I'll give them that. Workers were very nice and helpful too, clean dining area and great location. Reasonable price too. Basically, you get what you paid for.

Courtney McBain

So good. Nice staff. Amazing selection. Loved the miso soup!

Gwendolyn Andrews

Service was super fast, and they had way more food than we could handle. It was pretty awesome.

Bailey Jantzi

Amazing quality food ! Staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. One of the best sushi AYCE I’ve had to date :)

Brett Gregg

I went with a dozen other people and even with it being busy servers were extremely polite and friendly. The food was good, and the area was clean and well set for us when we first arrived. I would eat here again, overall nice experience.

Trần thị Mỹ Linh

Food and service is good. There were many options for desserts and ice-creams which is a plus compared to other buffet restaurant in ptbo. Their tables are mostly booths, I think it works well and be safe in this Covid time

Eric McStravick

My children started eating sushi on rolls. The children were satisfied too and I was delicious, the staff friendly and the store was clean. Sooner or later I will go eat again ????

Calvin Ryan

Great food and fast service! But the tea needs filtered water since PTBO water is awful and over powers the flavor of the tea. I will not get tea there again. But won't stop me from going because the food is so good. :)

Dan McKee

Our first experience at Spicy Affairs was excellent. It is small place so a very intimate setting. The food was filled with flavour but you have to pick the correct spice level. They even have an option for "Canadian Spicy" which turns out to be medium. We ordered the Roganjosh Chicken and a Lamb curry plus a stuffed chicken naan bread. Everything was delicious.

David

My fiance, my two year old and myself used to be frequent fliers so to speak until the staff made a point of telling us to quiet our giggling toddler, because she was "upsetting" other people and that we would be asked to leave due to her laughing and excited talking. We used to go Just about EVERY single week day for lunch. We could not hear ourselves over the other customers around us and I am shocked to find that we were the cause of any kind of disturbance. The new management may wish to inform the old regulars that it is no longer a family friendly environment. We will not be returning.

Joel Carter

This place is the best and most favorite restaurant in town. I used to go every month or more before COVID-19. I am very excited to go again. I love all the foods they are making. 5 stars

Jim Gilliland

Reasonable priced for amazing food. Service was great and had super sweet waitress. She was super polite, engaging and helpfull. Food was delicious too. Would deff go again

Abigael Trowsdale

Made it to the newly renovated Madoi and was really impressed with the quality (and quantity... though it is all you can eat, LOL) of food. First of all, the atmosphere is much improved after the reno's, much easier to have a more private meal with your family (my kids are 4 and 6, so it's not to be a bit segregated). A few tweaks to the menu but still had some great classic non-sushi dishes; the Udon for example is fantastic. As are the Galbi (beef short ribs). I'm not super adventurous when it comes to sushi, but I was a total glutton when it came to some of the staples in Sashimi (salmon, white tuna) and sushi, including some really nice torched options. The Maki roles were good too and I don't recall what the price of the kids meals were, but my kids at a lot of great food - starting with Udon (they are half-Korean and love soup), and right through to the Galbi and stir-fried veggies. It's obvious they take pride in the quality of food here. Service on this night was really good - took us a bit to get the hang of the online ordering thing, but waitress was super attentive to the important things, like drinks for the kids and Sapporo's for dad! A+ experience for us on this night!

Jully A

Our favourite sushi spot in Peterborough, friendliest staff, amazing food 10/10

Jane Oh

A lot of variety for vegetarian options! Individual items are a bit smaller than at Hockey Sushi, for instance, but it is all you can eat so not an issue!

markis sarkis

This won’t be my most in depth review. This is what you’d expect from an all you can eat sushi place in a student town…salmon tasted pretty good but it’s clear they want to fill you with rice and river water. The rice also wasn’t the best it honestly got hard to swallow some of the pieces. Pricing is relatively fair but again this place pretty much hit my expectations.

Kayla O'Rourke

I am editing my 4-star rating after tonight. I have never walked out of a restaurant before but after being ignored by the two waitresses, having to seat ourselves, and then waiting 10 minutes without being served, I believe it was warranted. A simple "hello" from a waitress would've been enough to stay but we didn't even recieve that. Extremely disappointing.

Ji Young Moon

Madoi has settled into a new layout for their seating, prioritizing a more private booth experience than previously. The menu covers most of the standard fare for a sushi restaurant and some more esoteric non fish options frenchfry and onion ripping rolls as example. Service is prompt and responsive, with staff available to address any concerns regarding the menu or tablet ordering system.

Emmerson Head

Fresh and tasty food, service was great and friendly. The restaurant looks new and clean. They have many kinds of cake for desert too. I also ordered a lemongrass pork vermicelli for take out, and I love their fish sauce which made me feel like I was back to Vietnam with mom-made food.

Nick

I will never go to this restaurant again!! I went there for lunch with my mom and brother and it wasn't busy, so the service should of been quick. That was not the case! The food took WAY too long to get out, and some things we recieved we …

Kaela Savoie

Went today for all you can eat.. the experience was HORRIBLE. The sushi was not upto the mark nor were any of the woks or grills and the desserts were PATHETIC. If the management is reading this then please remove that fake tiramisu from your menu.

Rachel Fraser

Worked similar to Dragon Rolls in Belleville, so I pretty quickly figured out how to work their tablets, atmosphere was nice, and food was good. Recommend trying here

Katerine Johnson

During covid, it can be scary going out. But virtually no interaction made between us and server made me feel more comfortable. That being said, they had "shields" that angled upwards and was open at the top. Kind of seems redundant since droplets travel across and not strictly downwards. Otherwise, I had a great time and the iPad's made everything easier.

Glen Easson

Absolutely incredible service. I love their short ribs and sushi. ♡

Gloria Machado

Friendly service, food was delicious! Had a blast and would definitely recommend ????

Aiden Dawn

The food was very good. Selection is similar to most other All-you-can-eat Japaneese places but they have a few unique items or spins on traditional items that makes it interesting. Price was on par with others in the segment.

Madoi is my favourite restaurant in Peterborough. Reasonable prices and various menus. The service is generally fast. I've been there often with my friends and my family and they were all satisfied. I highly recommend it. ????????

Kevin Bates

Really enjoyed this place before but last time we went got overcharged. For 2 adults(30) 2 kids between 7-14(15) and a toddler under 2 paid 160. Went again with 2 more adults and the bill was 260. Not sure what happened, didn't get a receipt(big mistake), but have not gotten a response after trying to contact them. Lesson is ways ask for receipt and breakdown.

I travel alot for business, so have enjoyed (and sometimes not enjoyed!) a wide variety of Sushi restaurants. I was keeping an open mind, however with tempered expectations. I can honestly say the Sushi here was extremely good. The fish pieces were a nice size and served at an optimum temperature. (Not too cold) They didn't skimp on fish and try to fill you with rice. Dumplings were cooked correctly, and the desert bar was a nice touch. Establishment was clean, with pleasant service. Would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Amrit Singh

I tried almost the salads here and I definitely enjoyed them. They were fresh especially avocado salad with the sauce. They have great pan fried beef broccoli, the beef was very soft and tasty. Which made me most impressive was they had Banh Mi, Crab soup, and pan fried corn which come from Vietnam- my country. The servers were nice too. Love this place. Best sushi restaurant in Ptbo ❤️

sanya mehta

Fast Service, fresh food. Give this one a try if you haven't in a while. They have definitely improved service.

Angela Ramos-Ovando

After the renovations, I went back to Madoi to give it a try again (I was a regular before). The price hike and the limited lunch menu (compared to before) has made me decide to not return again. I will be heading over to Aji Sai to give that a try. Too bad Madoi. I know you are going through a transition, but don't open up again with half the original menu as your offering. Iron out the issues before you start serving the masses.

Bex

Whenever I'm in Peterborough this is my go-to. I love their special rolls, their stafff are always kind and the food is great quality ????

Michael Martin

Always my go to for Sushi in Peterborough!!! Tom and the team are amazing!!!

MizBlueEyed

I have been going here for about 4 years now. I have never had a bad experience. I absolutely love it, the food is always 10/10. I cant wait to be able to dine in again.

D M

The sushi here is excellent, fresh, and unique. I was sceptical about the all you can eat dinner prices but for the amount and quality of the food I ordered, it was a more than fair price. The kitchen staff accommodated my vegan diet and omitted the mayo sauces from all the orders; there are numerous vegan and vegetarian options here! All of the waitresses are pleasant and attentive. Orders come out of the kitchen in under 5 minutes which is impressive on a busy Saturday night. The 10% discount for Trent students was another added bonus. One improvement they could add would be menu item descriptions as the tablet menus lack any. Overall a 4.5 star review (if I could add a half star). I will be visiting Madoi in the future.

Brad Buchman

Very good food. The rice they use on their rolls is always perfect. Also, their rolls are not just filled with only rice like other all you can eat places do.

Michael LeBlanc

I love going here, the sushi is always fresh. Nice vibe, food is well prepared and plated nicely. The service is pretty good. With multiple experiences, I just find that some servers are just better than others, but they're all quite professional and timely, that's certainly what counts at the baseline.

Mj Fish

Best place in town for sushi lover like me!!!! The servers were nice but a bit quite, they should communicate more. Food came fast and great portion. I’ll be back.

Robert Monico

Madoi was a lot better this time compared to last time when I was there about a year ago in terms of service. We were there around 4-5 pm on a Sunday so it didn't appear busy. The waitresses were friendly and helpful.

terrence brood

Amazing food and the service was great! This is my new favourite sushi place!

Ryan Thompson

Wow, they are very cheap with portions and to reply to your reply to my review, I ordered two individual dishes for 13.95 each. The Philadelphia sushi had no salmon and the meat dish had to meat!

Rory Wilkinson

Amazing ???? best sushi I have ever tried♥️ everyone is so friendly and nice, our order came fast and was absolutely delicious ???? Highly recommended(I wrote this after the first visit) unfortunately I have to change it. But my second visit didn't went so good! The food was delicious, but the service was bad, at the first few minutes when you enter the restaurant you will feel so welcome but after the 1st order they started to treat us with a "not so good" way, we felt unwelcomed from many things....they started to take very long time to get the food and left many many many empty dishes (not clean) on the table although we asked them many times to take the empty plates but they didn't. And at last we asked for our kids favorite icecream flavour and they said this flavour is "hard" so we can't scope more of it so if you want more ice cream choose another flavour! We left the restaurant with bad experience

The Yogic Programmer

My family has been coming here for years now since we first moved to Peterborough mostly because the food . The staff is friendly and food is usually good. Unfortunately over the last 2 years the food quality I find has gone down hill. During their shut down during renovations we ate at other local sushi places . Today was their opening day and I was super excited only to be extremely disappointed . We spent almost 2 hours there because of how slow the service was. I had to ask a few times for the food we ordered and soy sauce aswell as we waited at least 20 minutes before we were able to get water, asked for apple juice for my son and they didn't have it. I assumed they would have a bigger better menu for the price but I was extremely disappointed that there was next to nothing for options. They didn't add things , instead they got rid of alot of the good choices for their lunch . Another women eating with her family approached me about how long they were there and waited for their food. Told me they waited an hour for one item n eventually they left still hungry . I think time to say goodbye to Madoi as I won't be returning .

Lynda Margoth

Dissapointed in the increase in price despite no apparent increase in quality, decrease in the student discount, and removal of internet. It seems as though their business model continuing into the future is to cut as many costs as possible, in order to extract as much profit as possible. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth of the customer, and I find that I just don't have the same desire to frequent madoi or Tora as I used to. I would rather visit any other restaurant in Peterborough that isn't so clearly capital driven at the expense of good faith

Eric janssen

Update: Went a second time. Much better service. Once again, great food, great presentation. Initial Review: The food was fantastic, however the service was a little slow. Took us a while to get our order taken.

Travel Bug

I have never been disappointed going here I highly recommend the torched salmon it's exemplary

Steven Muirhead

We came here for lunch and we could barely move by the end. The tablets allow you to order quickly and then before you know it, trays of beautiful sushi and maki rolls begin to appear. The sushi was fresh and tasty. Grilled chicken and pork were delicious. Soups, noodles, everything we tried was great, with one exception. The lemon chicken was fried so long it was inedible. It was the only dud among the many items we tried. There was no room for the icecream they offered at the end. I will definitely be back!

Kagan Bilgin

The food here was very good and it's very fancy and clean looking in the restaurant, staff is super friendly. good price for how good the food is. New favorite sushi place!

MIA KIM

To be honest...the food was subpar at best. Warm food, mostly cold. Most menu items had no description. No disclaimer mentioned regarding the crab meat actually being imitation meat. Much of the seafood had a frozen taste... certainly not fresh. Hardly any authentic Japanese sushi items, but rather a mix of other Asian dishes. Was given wrong drink. Couldn't understand server at all and could barely hear her since she was so quiet. Sad that the best thing was the sake and ice cream. Left the place feeling sick, having barely ate a thing. Upon leaving, I watched the other server argue with a man who just entered the restaurant. Feeling rather awkward witnessing the scene, I felt the server needed a break and decided not to discuss this experience with him, since I feel he might have gotten confrontational. Will certainly not be considering this place in future. Not to mention that it's about 20% more expensive than far better sushi restaurants in the GTA. They could seriously learn a few things from the competition (August 8, Imi Sushi, Yasu, Shunoko etc.)

Cross Carloss

The food here is pretty good for all you can eat, and though the price is somewhat steep, it's not bad given the variety of dishes available. The service... In a broad sense, the service is pretty good. They were quick and pleasant. However, the restaurant was hot as sin. It was so hot, one in our party ended up feeling too sick to eat. When we asked if we could move tables to somewhere closer to the AC, we were told they couldn't accommodate it as it was their busy time. This despite them having maybe 10-15 free tables, with maybe five occupied. I will definitely be recommending against this restaurant to everyone I know given the poor experience we had there.

Jordan Smith

Pricing has gone up, while food quality has gone down. Update: The environment looks the same, but not well cleaned. Service is so-so. But the point is that the sweet egg is wrinkled, meaning that it is fridged for too long and not fresh. Their fish is old and taste soggy. Utterly disaster. Someone call Gordon Ramsay to renew this place!

L Hawley

Good enough sushi. The ordering software was kinda buggy and the A/C was out, but other than that, good service and food.

Melanie Waters

This place has some good review but unfortunately we had a bad experience for tring it out first time. Place is very well decorated and neat, waitress were polite too. So this is what upset me initially, they failed to deliver 2 items from my 1st order, I reminded them and after sometime I got the left out item. My sister ordered an item on our 2nd order, we waited over 20mins and I guess one of the ladies noticed we were waiting and told us that our item is being prepared and will be brought shortly. We waited another 15mins or more, still nothing. I got quite upset and decided to leave that day, so we went up to the counter, paid and left. In addition, there is no desert on the menu listed, you have to ask and also menu is really tricky, gotta be good in puzzle to understand their menu ( what is dinner and premium dinner, When it's all "all you can eat"?) Couldn't have had worse family hangout that day :(

Update - lowered review to 1 star ***Didn’t clean the table between guests, in the midst of the COVID pandemic*** Bad experience overall - although it wasn’t entirely the servers’ fault. Their tablets weren’t working. We had to switch tables. (Then they seated a couple at the table we were previously at without wiping it down first). Our order didn’t come out right. There was a bee in our food. I’ve had a negative experience here before, but thought I would give them another try. Lesson learned. I definitely won’t be going back. -- Original review (sorry, it's a long one): Madoi is usually my go-to sushi place in Peterborough, but after my incredibly disappointing experience tonight, I don't think I'll ever be going back. I made reservations for a large sized group almost three weeks ago. Knowing that the group was so large and that it was the night before Thanksgiving, I wanted to make sure everything would be okay. When I called to make my reservation, I was told it wouldn't be a problem. I followed up with them about a week before the reservation to confirm final numbers. I called in again this afternoon, just to make sure they were actually going to be open today (as a few things were closed for the holiday). They said they were, but they might close early for Thanksgiving. At this point I began to worry as I made reservations for 7:30 pm and their posted hours were until 9:30 pm. They assured me that my reservation was still okay, and my group was okay to stay even if they began to close the rest of the restaurant. When we get there and sit down for a bit we are told it was 'last call' when most of us hadn't even received our food yet. We had to ask a few times where most of our orders were, as there were a lot of dishes that were missing. I had to go home and eat afterwards as I wasn't able to order everything I would have wanted to. It felt incredibly disorganized and it felt like we were being rushed out. If they intended to close the restaurant early for the holiday, they could have called me. They had my name and phone number when I made reservations weeks prior. They even could have told me when I called this afternoon, and I could have made the reservation for a bit earlier in the evening. The only redeeming factor about tonight, is that they did not charge for one of my friends who did not eat very much. That's why this review is two stars instead of one. I'm so embarrassed and upset by the service we received. Many of the guests in the group had never been to Madoi, and I felt it was necessary to apologize to everyone. Especially because it's pretty expensive. I doubt they will be returning after our experience tonight. I won't be.

Michael Johnston

Poor quality food....anything out of the fryer was dried and overcooked. Soups were tastless. Not worth it.

Michael Morgan

An absolutely amazing restaurant. Food is delicious. Service is fast and friendly. And the pricing at $25 for all you can eat lunch is unbeatable. A definite must if you like sushi

Dan

I order some take out last night and was very satisfied with my order. I order online and found the website so easy to work with and received my confirmation via email in no time. When I picked up my food the gentleman was very pleasant and explained my order and they put in an extra little salad, and edamame on the house. The presentation was so beautiful I could not wait to get home. The food was as amazing as the presentation, good job Madoi, you are a winner in my book. I can't wait to have out of town guests and show off a bit more.

Danielle Dmuchowski

Spicy salmon rolls were fresh and delicious! A bit of a long wait for the food but it was worth it once it came. Will definitely return

Alexander Taylor

Our experience at Madoi restaurant was horrible I can honestly say if this was my first time having sushi it would be my last. Every dish we ordered had exactly the same ingredients..for some reason they ad fake crab to everything and most dishes have cucumber and avocado and the description of some dishes is definitely not explanatory One dish said peanut and it came with a big glob of peanut butter on it ..oh! and don't forget the fake crab!! Basically everything tasted the same..and then the real kicker was at the end when we couldn't eat the rest of what we loathed...they charged us an extra 16 dollars..on top of the $25 dollars per person... With all this being said the service was good and the gentleman who seated us and brought some of our food was very nice.. But when I complained they didn't offer a refund... That's a place I will never go again!!!!!

Quynh Le

Great place for sushi compared to other places with almost same price. Food is great and fast served. I gave 4 out of 5 stars if the servers talked more and dressed up. Anyway, I enjoyed eating here. Will come back and give recommendations to my friends.

Isabelle Legault

They made me satisfied with the party tray I just got. Eveything is perfect. The price was reasonable compared to other places in Ptbo as well as GTA. The server was also nice and helpful to me. I defenitely come back here. Best place to come!

Helena K

Pretty good sushi. Don't make my mistake and fill up on noodles, serving sizes are bigger than I thought haha.

Jill Chandler

Best service I've had in Peterborough for sushi. I've traveled all over the world and this place has a fantastic selection. A big improvement from the old place that was located there.

Mariam El Chiekh Khalil

So glad that my s.o. and I were driving through downtown Ptbo yesterday, and discovered that Madoi has a patio and so we were finally able to have AYCE sushi for the first time since the pandemic. It was fantastic! Thanks Madoi! And for people trying to figure out how much it costs, we paid around $65 w/out tip for the 2 of us for a Sunday dinner all-you-can-eat.

The food was good and the presentation was beautiful. The resturaunt and washrooms were spotless. I give all that 5 stars. However the service was not good. We asked for Wasaby 5 times. Waited over 30 mins for our drinks. Yes it was a busy dinner time. One would think a reservation for 10 would have taken some priority tho. I almost gave it 3 stars due to the poor service. But the food was beautiful and the place was very clean. Had the service been better. I would have gave it 5 stars.

Rebecca Robbins

Very nice new atmosphere .. the waitress was friendly and very prompt ... The food was excellent and very fast !! Thanks !

Elisa Goodwin

Was in last night and was astounded with how amazing everything was! The food was delicious and came out so fast. The staff has always been very friendly but I have to give a special thanks to my server Maddy! Incredibly helpful and sweet!

Jesse Chaschowy

Little pricey but you pay good for the food. First time we went it wasnt to great but we tried again and werent disappointed. The new renovations look great as well. Only big thing was in the summer it was HOT in there.

Adkins Cornelius

Delivery driver took 12 minutes from the restaurant to our door, he was not the issue. Hot food was cold and had to be reheated. The sushi was warm and starting to fall apart. No napkins or fortune cookies and missing sauces. NYE fail. Its unfortunately not the first time but will be the last. Dont waste your money.

Mike

My family had been coming here for years. The quality of the food is impeccable and always fresh. ????amazing customer service is always a big plus in my book.
