The Gentle Takeover

Ordered takeout and recieved a sour smelling desert with a strawberry growing fungus. Called on Friday to speak to a manager and didnt hear back from Maria until Tuesday. Maria was not only aggressive and not remorseful but told me it was hard to believe and spoke over me for a majority of the call. Disgusted by how management treats people and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Loved our experience here. Such beautiful healthy food. Awesome service and a really nice atmosphere. Great for a date night, but have also seen families with small kids. So a great spot for everyone! Can’t wait to go back.

Love the atmosphere, small restaurant and always full so make sure to make a reservation. Food is excellent and they give you a lot of it. Haven't had a bad experience yet. Reasonably priced for how much food you get and considering it is a downtown independent restaurant .

Another one of my faves in Peterborough. The atmosphere inside is really cool, the staff are super friendly, and the food is amazing! I always get the Chang Mai chicken curry. It's a huge portion and it's so delicious. Their mango cheesecake is also amazing!

This was one of our go to places in town, but now it is a wreck. Horrible food, at gourmet prices. A Pad Thai with a small load of noodles, some chunks of off tasting chicken, a few carrot shreds, and a sprinkle of peanuts = 17 bucks. The Mee Goreng, and Phad Woon Sen are just as disuappointing. After THREE chances over the past few months for one of my favorite places to get things back on track, I have officially given up. Sad and disappointing.

I eat here frequently and generally enjoy it but I was disappointed by my last visit and don't think I'll return. We ordered wine and when it was served there was a disgusting bug swimming around in my freshly poured glass. The server was hesitant to even replace the wine, and only did so after I insisted I didn't want to drink it. They also charged full price for the wine, and I feel given how disgusting that experience was the least they could have done was comp it and replace it immediately.

My chicken satay was good but my vegan friend's pad thai was terrible; bland, over-cooked noodles and tofu. She felt sick afterward, probably due to cross-contamination from meat. The service was unimpressive; our entree was brought 10 mins after the appetizer and the server seemed miffed that we weren't ready to have our unfinished food whisked away. Won't go back.

I visited this place with some friends just to check it out and we really disliked the reheated food that we got served..The chicken pad thai was dry, the noodles were glue like wall paper paste..the water tasted like dirty water. The waiter was really nice to try to fix the problem but the cook ???? Did not do anything to solve the problem.. I do not recommend this place to eat at all. There is a pizza ???? place around the block that taste even better than this "restaurant". We went to the pizza place after this bad experience to help remove that awfull taste from that meal. I do not recommend this place to eat.

We've heard so many good things about CC's and decided to try it for ourselves. The food was tasty. Quality green curry, onion bahja, pad thai, and dumplings, but the service was awful. Waited 20 minutes for our drinks while the only server was busy with take out orders and the manager just stood there. After charging $20 for a vegetarian green curry, which real top quality Toronto thai restaurants dont even charge (when it actually has chicken in it), they charged us $4 for a glass of milk for a 4 year old. If prices were more reasonable, we'd consider takeout, but otherwise we won't be going back.

Food was excellent , especially the garden salad. Chicken wings and spring rolls were delicious. Service was fast and very friendly. And there is a good selection of draft beer. I will be going back as soon as I'm back in town.

Always great food, but went to go for lunch today on Friday January 12, 2018 only to find out they are now no longer open for lunch (now opens at 4pm). Such a disappointment as this was a great place to go for lunch and I don't come into town for dinner. :(

My siblings and I dined here and me being the only Ptbo resident chose this dining establishment. My brother said "good choice" on the restaurant. When in Ptbo, he and his gf always go to Hunter St not realizing what else exists. We had the butter chicken, pad Thai, chicken satays, fresh rice roll appetizers and snapper. All delicious!

We had the worst experience last night. I'm calling back to speak with a manager today. The food was absolutely awful... The dumplings were not cook and tasted like nothing. My chicken satay tasted like the "peanut sauce" was old and rotten, the mango salad was mushy. AND to top it off, our waiter rolled his eyes at us when I told him about my anaphalactic allergies (fish and mushrooms). Then, because he failed to acknowledge my allergies, he actually served me an item with mushrooms in it. Luckily I didn't eat anything before asking his each time..."you're sure there's no mushrooms or fish in this??" And he would reply "I don't think so"... Not very comforting when your allergies are life or death.

Normally our experience is wonderful however we went to eat there this evening and were told the kitchen was closed at 8:30 when the website says they are open until 10:00. It is usually a great place and we have never had a bad experience but this time was quite disappointing as we were not even able to be served.

They have classic Thai dishes and some with a twist. The interior is cozy with an awesome garage door at one end that opens up the semi small place. Our waiter was great and very personable and even had some art of his displayed on the wall. I ordered the Tofu Singapore Noodles which uses pad thai like noodles in a yellow curry sauce with carrots, bamboo, snap peas, red bell pepper, and marinated tofu...It was delicious.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We ordered the pork dumplings and they gave us shrimp and pork instead. We called and asked if we could bring the other ones back and get our correct order as we cant eat shrimp. The lady was zero help and …

What happened??? This used to be a quality dinner option in Peterborough, but no longer. The appetizers were cold and the shrimp dumplings were raw. Our party all went with noodle entree's. The noodles were warm, but the meat and vegetables were cold. The beef in one entree tasted rancid and had to be replaced. A terrible experience. Oh, and for our trouble we received a student discount...we still paid over $150. Never again.
