Just got a pepperoni pizza takeout. It’s delicious, love the thin wood-fire oven crust, the pepperoni was great as well, just wish there were a lot more of it on the pizza. UPDATE: ordered this again last night and it had a good amount of pepperoni on it!

It's great to come to place where the staff obviously enjoy their job, enjoy customers, and enjoy each other! We took the recommendations of the staff for food and wine, both were spot on! Without a doubt the best Italian restaurant not only in Peterborough...but best I've ever been to! From the welcoming servers (Ashley) to the owner Paul (o) the cosy, modern warm atmosphere and the whole vibe is on point. Trust me when I tell you everything is done with care and delicious..I am very picky yet if I could give 10 stars I would..warm focaccia bread, wood oven pizza the whole experiance was fantastic..Brava, Bravo everyone needs to go! Well done and what a gem for Peterborough lucky us..

Ordered takeout dinner for myself online, easy enough. Opened my brown paper bag and pulled out what looked like a frozen dinner....looks can be very deceiving....to my great surprise the Alfredo Linguine was absolutely delicious ????, I wish there was more! The 3 star rating is mostly for the presentation, not even a sprig of parsley and bread was an add on, what pasta does not come with bread of some sort. The server was lovely and I will definitely put Capra Tora on my regular take out and hopefully dine in soon, list!

I was visiting Peterborough and went to this place after seeing the 4.7 rating. But I feel it stands nowhere close to this rating. I’ll keep it short, my pasta was uncooked, I had to wait over 5 minutes just for salt and pepper, ordered a take out pizza for my friend and it was one of the worst he had. The server was coming back and forth to look at other tables and I had to ask twice for a simple thing. Not sure if there is something towards people of colour at this place. Wish I could a give negative rating!

This fancy and hip “Australian-style” pizza place “Capra Toro” gives American owned pizza chains like Pizza Hut and Pizza Pizza a run for its money - this might be the best pizza in Peterborough - try the Fungi Mozzarella - it’s the one approved by Ottie the otter for its taste palette, texture and richness - for its vibrant atomos - frequented by Ottonabee students who love their pizzas who are out of the ordinary that is worth the wait - nothing beats this pizza made by the loving folks of this establishment - better than most pizzas offered at the national chain on Turtle Island - Love, Jonathan

Capra Toro, I went here this evening with my family and this was by far the best experience I have ever had at a restaurant! The Italian food is in my opinion the best I have ever had and the service is astonishing. The atmosphere on the back patio is breath taking and truly a very very enjoyable and relaxing experience, it literally feels like your sitting down and having a dinner in Italy. Capra Toro is very laid back and relaxing and I highly recommend this place for a dinner date or out with the family. I don't usually leave reviews anywhere but I just couldn't let this one slide, keep up the awesomeness! Check it out, you will not regret it!

The spaghetti was one note. All you could taste was the marinara. The meat balls were dry. The appetizer was focaccia and olives. Only one piece of bread for 2 people. They forgot to bring salad. We were half way through our dinner before salads eventually arrived after being asked. The primavera was bland and hardly had any vegetables. Service was pleasant.

Had a wonderful dinner on the back patio. Appreciated the atmosphere they created with the string lights and music, but it is in a back parking lot/alley with other buildings in the vicinity so it is definitely more of an industrial vibe. Our food was great, and it was probably one of the best pizzas we've had in Peterborough!

The food was delicious and our server (Ashley) was an absolute delight! Everything tasted fresh and seemed to be made with quality ingredients, and the price was right on for us. It was our anniversary and they brought out a tiramisu desert for us to split - it was a perfect light sweet treat to end off our meal! Would definitely go back.

I arrived at the patio only to realize, with great embarrassment, that I had forgot my wallet. Then my phone died. Not only did they offer to charge my phone for me, they insisted that I not bother my son to rescue me, and instead pay later over the phone. General Manager A.J. and waiter Andrew were AWESOME. This was such a great experience. Not a restaurant goer. Usually the food does not agree with me. Capra toro's food sat well. Tasted great. It was like eating home made foods. The service was excellent . The price so reasonable. I recommend this restaurant. Please try it. They need to stay open serving our community especially during this difficult time of covid 19 . A great place to eat! We ordered the take out Carbonara pizza and the Polpetti di spaghetti - and it all was so flavourful! More than enough for 2. The server gave me a quick tour of the restaurant...and I’ll be returning to dine in and sit near the wood fired pizza oven next time.

The craftsmanship of this restaurant is hard to hide. The wood stove is located in such a space that the hand tossed entertainment will have you ready to eat! The portions are most generous and the flavours even more so. Located in the Hunter street distract of Peterborough , the rest of your evening is just steps away. Try the chicken Parmesan(OMG)!!! Oh and the sausage & peppers Arrabbiata , but start with the focaccia ! Get your table at OpenTable.ca .

Pasta is pretty good, but everything on the menu is cheap with the meat. Pizzas had barely any pepperoni, pasta had a few morsels of prosciutto. The desserts were the worst part, cannoli tasted frozen, the pastry had no crunch at all, and very little flavour. The decor is pretty bad as well. Cowhide booth backings say it all. Service was 5/10

Really good food , great portions. Only complaint is the noodles were undercooked but the pizza was 5 star I'd definitely get it again by itself. I'd rate this place a 4.2 out of 5.

My boyfriend and I went here after having a horrible experience at a previous restaurant in Peterborough, we informed the staff on what had happend to us (just as complaining customers) and they treated us like absoloute family. This is a establishment built on the foundations of AMAZING food and AMAZING staff, the best customer service experience we have both ever had. The food came out on time, we were checked on frequently and they made us feel like WE were special and always taken care of. I truly was almost brought to tears for what they did for us, they will get our support 100% all the time! 10/10 everything ! Thank you again Capro Toro for honestly being the best.

A huuuuuge shoutout goes to the fantastic management and staff at Capra Toro for making our Intimate Pandemic Micro Wedding an incredibly special success!! We took advantage of their Black 13 Private Dining room downstairs and it suited our needs perfectly. We were able to access the room beforehand to decide on decor, the ambiance was perfect and the entire staff were helpful and supportive. Ashley & AJ were incredible to work with. They kept communication open, offered advice when needed, and were receptive to any suggestions we made. They went over and above our expectations to make sure all our needs were met. The food was outstanding and everything was served on time and with seamless delivery. If you are looking to hold a private event, we highly recommed this hidden gem located downstairs in Peterborough's finest Italian Restaurant.

Visited this evening - wow what a disappointment. The service was horrible, our server actually disappeared for at least 1/2 an hour during which time not one person checked on us. Finally after waiting and hour and 15 mins we asked a different server if our food was coming up soon. She said oh the kitchen is backed up I will check. At which time the food just happened to be ready ( Luke warm and burnt ) so I suspect it had say there a while. The lack of customer service and the mediocre food left all 8 of us with a definite never going back . Much better choices in Ptbo .

We supported this place with frequent take-out and even dining-in throughout the pandemic and the multiple shutdowns they endured, but lately they haven’t met their usual standard. I ordered take-out tonight for pick up at 6:30. I’ve done this a few times over the last year. Tonight I had to stand in line behind multiple people, including those waiting to be sat for their reservations and those looking for last-minute tables. You’d hope they have two lines, one for take-out and one for dining in—but they don’t. To make matters worse, after I spoke to the staff at the front they brought out two separate take-out orders for people who came in after me AND THEN claimed they “lost” my order and had to make it on the spot. I don’t know, something about their system turning on and off. Seems bizarre, since the staff at the front knew my name for the order when I first spoke to them, and didn’t have to ask what I had ordered. I didn’t walk out of the front until nearly 30 mins after I arrived. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized they forgot half of my order, which I paid for. Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience. Feels like an Italian speakeasy with a 2020 vibe. Service was excellent waitress was attentive but not intrusive and the manager checked on us often was wonderfully helpful. Food was flavourful and you could tell it was made with top notch ingredients. They have wood fired pizza which was amazing. Tasted like everything was made from scratch and seasoned perfectly. Couldn't be more happy for our first time from the food to the service to atmosphere. Highly recommended

This isn't just the best Italian restaurant in Peterborough, arguably it is the best restaurant period. Good, good food reasonably priced, excellent service, welcoming atmosphere, on the patio at least, noise level just right. I'd like to see the wine a little less pricey, but given the overall excellence of Capra Toro, let's not quibble. Totally great evening out.

After being in lockdown for a few months there was no place my wife and I would rather be than on the back patio of Capra Toro. This back patio is a hidden gem in a sea of great restaurants in downtown Ptbo. The ambient music paired with a pleasant aroma of woodsmoke pizza oven made it feel like we were on vacation far from home. The service was impeccable! The entire dinner service made for an amazing night out. Our knowledgeable and experienced server gave us a fantastic recommendation of a lovely Pinot Grigio to accompany our selection of appetizers! The garlic knots are a must have to start the night off! The whole team went above and beyond to make everyone’s experience out feel safe and refreshing! The host even came over to check that the music was not too loud for our baby! Please keep up the amazing service and food! We will be back for many more great dinners! Thank you!
