Ended up here because not much was open on a winter Tuesday night. I used to get upset by slow service. Thanks to great friends we had a lovely extended meal out. Cod was uninspired but maybe it was in part to the pre lockdown fridge emptying. Desert toffee something was excellent. I might be tempted to try a brunch here again but wouldn't rush back for dinner.

I would give a better review but asked for Rare Filet, came out medium, waitress was great but Chef came out whistling with replacement and never apologized. For the price of the food, if you cant get it right, at least respect the customer.

Absolutely stunning atmosphere. The staff are all very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and their town! Everything was delicious and we didn't feel rushed nor did we wait too long. Highly recommend.

My husband is a regular customer of BW hotel and he has complementary tickets for breakfast at locks. My son and I used it today. There were two servers giving out menus and cutlery to tables and customers but us. When our food was served there is still no cutleries, I waited 2 to 3 minutes until I ask one of the server for cutleries and I said please at the end of my sentence, she looked at me first, before she handed me the cutlery and she said you're welcome right away and turned around, instead of saying sorry because our food is getting cold. I hope this is not gonna happen To customers again with color. It's humiliated and disrespectful. Thanks!

This was our first time here. We had some positive expectations based on some previous reviews and everything started out well. Our server was pleasant and took our drink order, even though one of our cocktails she hadn't heard of before. I gave her the ingredients and she was pretty spot on with the result. Our steak order was taken and arrived in a timely fashion, but they were not done as ordered. The filet was medium well instead of medium, and the N.Y. Strip was well done instead of medium rare. The Strip was sent back but the Filet was okay for my wife The replacement Strip was cooked to perfection the second time and was delicious. However, our server then abandoned us! After saying she'd be back in a moment to check with us, she didn't come back for almost an hour. Not good! We had finished our meals and were waiting for desert & coffee, all the while sitting there with our finished mains battling flies all around us. When she finally came back she apologized for the long wait. After reviewing the desert menu we decided not to order anything else and wanted to pay the bill. To her credit, she apologized for the long wait & steak issue again and credited us with 1 free drink. While the setting was nice and the food was decent, I'm not so sure we'll come back again.

Let me just say our waitress was amazing for a late Saturday snack. We ordered the seafood dip which in all honesty could have been a disaster.i got a scallop that was not cooked and was cold in the middle. We were all terrified I was going to get sick. I did not get sick but that is not something you should mess around with. We were told by our lovely waitress to give it another chance. So we did. We came back the following day for dinner. We ordered the rib eye. I was extremely extremely surprised by the cost of the steak and the fact it arrived paper thin. The steak was not at all worth what was charged. It had Zero flavour on it. It was supposed to come with garlic mashed. There was zero garlic flavour either. I think perhaps a new chef is needed. I was excited to see a restaurant in the hotel but was not overly impressed with the food. And sea food 100% you need to know what your doing. Serving a cold and raw scallop in a dish is un acceptable. Thank god for our waitress who was very lovely.

SUCH GREAT FOOD!! We only had appetizers, but WOW...SO GOOD! Brushchetta ???? and Crab cakes. ???? We, 2 of us, had plenty to eat. Also, it was my Mom's birthday, so I told her to get the 9 ounce glass of wine ???? lol, so after hearing this, the server gave her a free dessert! A really lovely gesture and it will definitely clinch another visit. BTW...GET THE STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING!! ????

I booked a table for 8 for small bridal shower about 2 months ago. Late on Tuesday (4 days before the event) I got a call saying they had to cancel because they had a wedding. I was polite but irate. Within 2 hours of getting the cancellation call, I received a call from one of the owners indicating that it was their error and they would like to work with me to try to appease me. They waived the room fee, put linens on the table and gave us a substantial discount on the food. We had the event today. The service was great and the food was as well. The owners and their staff really try their best to make your experience with them exceptional. We will be going back for many parties/meals going forward. Thank you to all at the Locks.

Great dinner tonight. Appetizers, Fish and Chips and Chocolate cake - delish. Our server, Lauren, was awesome. Even though she was busy she was still friendly and efficient. As always at The Locks the atmosphere was very nice with the lovely decor and pretty fireplace.

A table of 4 on a Saturday night, we had a okay time with good food. We unfortunately did not enjoy our service, but we did enjoy the food and drinks. I did not wish to leave a negative review based on one instance with one server, so I emailed the establishment separately. I spoke with Scott, who I understand to be in management, and wished he was the one taking care of us during our meal as he was amazing to speak with! He understood that our experience was okay but should have and could have easily been GREAT. I was sure I would not return on Saturday, but after speaking with Scott, I in fact WILL return and I am certain that my concerns have been / will be addressed. My email was responded to very quickly and professionally. Thank you Scott!

Had a reservation, might as well not have had one. They seated people who were walk ins before they sat us. Service was so slow, even though we ordered drinks as we sat down, it took a good 15 mins before we got them. When our drinks came, there were no coasters or napkins and being on the patio, the table and my lap was soaked due to all the condensation. We also ordered our food when our drink came and we waited 40 mins for our food. In between, our glasses sat empty, nobody checked on us until 5 mins before our food was served. Food served with no cutlery. Waiter went to get cutlery, came back with our drinks and cutlery, thank goodness it was wrapped in napkins. As for the food, steak was ordered medium, it was well done. Crab stuffed chicken was stuffed with imitation crab and the chicken was dry. About the only good thing about this was the patio. Very nice patio which is why I have 1 star. I would have given it 0.

Redemption!! My partner and I were at The Locks Perth a year ago, and had a terrible experience. Unfortunately, what made it worse, was how the staff and management handled the situation. As such, we hadn't been back. We heard through word of mouth that there were a bunch of new staff, a new chef and things are much different, so we decided to give the restaurant another try. I am so glad we did. The service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and the food was delicious. The chicken breast main was to die for. We will be back!

Appalling! My wife asked me to take her out for a nice steak for Sunday lunch. The reviews and photos looked good so I made a reservation and we drove to Perth. It is a very nice room. That's where the good stuff stopped however. We ordered drinks and the NY Striploin steak. First indication of a problem was that the advertised truffle mash was "not available at lunchtimes!!!!". The steaks came with a side of ketchup!! What kind of a restaurant serves its food with ketchup? The steaks were tough, dry and tasteless. The fries were soggy and the "veg of the day" were raw and minimal. All round a thoroughly bad meal. We sent the food back and the waitress made the excuse that the restaurant couldn't source decent steak. Really? - then why is it on the menu? No sign of any Management to apologise for spoiling our day, and to add insult to injury we were charged for the drinks. We dove home hungry and very annoyed. Best Western Management take note. With a nice looking restaurant like you have, I could increase your turnover and profit by at least a factor of 5 within a month, without increasing your staff or cost base.

We had a celebratory dinner at the Locks. It was a great choice. Excellent food and service. The bartender made a good cocktail and the local beer selections were top notch. Will go again to try the rest of the menu.

This restaurant is in the Best Western Parkside Inn. It has indoor dining as well as a beautiful patio. The service, however, was abysmal. It is clear they do not have enough staff and our server was abrupt, distracted and stressed. My food was slow to arrive, bland and not hot. My wife, on the other hand, enjoyed her meal. All this is understandable given the times we are going through. Hopefully they will work to recover from the pandemic and are able to get more staff. This is a great location but our experience, was just OK, could have been much better.

I was fortunate enough to dine at the Locks for Fathers Day. I have wanted to eat here for a long time. The atmosphere is great and the staff is amazing. Very friendly and professional. The menu has everything form burgers to filet and seafood. Everything was preparred perfectly! This is simply one of the best restaurants I have ever been to and checks all the boxes. You have to eat here if ever in Perth.

Sunday lunch on our move to Perth and it couldn't have been better. The hotel is attractive and staffed with positive and helpful people. The restaurant sits on a rise overlooking the park and the street. A slight breeze on a sunny day, lovely bruschetta, a marvellous salad and a shrimp pasta bowl. Excellent servers. We have already convinced friends to join us there for dinner in the near future...

Very slow and not friendly service, we waited for an hour to get our food (some of it were completely cold!). We asked for a piece of paper for my daughter to be able to paint something and they told me to give her a menu instead ????

Really surprised that this gem was in a Best Western. This BW was amazing btw. Whole new level! Beautiful dining room with gas fireplace and wonderful Xmas decs. My bf had the chicken special with lobster sauce and wild grains rice. Amazing. I had the scallops and cauliflower bites. Perfectly done and great presentation and portions. Service was attentive and very friendly. Don't miss this spot!!!

Was sat quickly which was great. That's where the great ended. Waited over 10 min for Server to come to our table. Table that was seated after us got service before we did. Appetizer was the scallops. Came to the table barley warm. Then had to wait for cutlery and plates to eat them. Main dishes came and those to where barley warm. Had to get up to find salt and pepper. Server was nice enough but not very attentive. Cleanliness for this restaurant is not great.The manager pull down his mask and wipe his nose with his bare hand and then continue on with serving. No hand sanitation. Aswell as table sanitation after guest vacated. Tables where wiped yes but not one of the chair's. We are in the middle of a pandemic still. The lack of sanitation at this restaurant was really bad. There was also no covid tracking being done in the restaurant. Not sure if we will be back.

My husband and I hosted dinner the night before our wedding at the Locks and we are so thrilled with how the evening went. Kim and Scott were fantastic in all of the ups and downs of planning, moving, and adapting a covid dinner party. All protocols were in place and followed and most importantly, the food was DELICIOUS. Our guests had a fantastic time and also raved about the food (currently wishing I had more of that salmon dish)!! Breakfast after our two night stay was also delicious - and what a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Stayed @ Best Western in Perth ON for a kids hockey tourney. The restaurant was the nicest BW restaurants I have seen (upscale). The Locks Rest. was accommodating and gave us a custom Kids Menu w/ Great Prices. The adults had a nice meal too. Must try Crab Cakes and the Locks Burger. Nice Local beer Selection too!

We decided to enjoy a late afternoon in Perth and Drive-In at Port Elmsley. We enjoyed an early dinner on the Locks' patio. Great scenic location next to the Big Ben Park. Generous servings and good fresh food. My 13 yr old devoured the brie and bacon burger on pretzel bun. Said was one of the best burgers he has ever had. Great little outing and only a short drive from downtown Ottawa

Patios were made for summer nights with friends, drinks & delicious food! The steak and seafood dishes exceeded our expectations. With a beautiful view, very attentive staff & amazing company it was a perfect evening. We will definitely be back during our next visit to the area. Just had the best birthday supper in a long time. Very slow 2 hour dinner that cost $130 and we had a very unattentive waiter. Took 20 minutes to get drinks and had to wait 30 minutes alone just to get the bill. Food was pretty good but the service experience ruined the entire evening for us and we definitely did not get our money's worth. Hotel was great but would never go to this restaurant again. A lot of restaurants around the hotel that are much cheaper with better service.
