Disappointing first visit to this Perth eatery. It was a busy lunchtime, but it still took nearly thirty minutes for our server to brew a pot of coffee for us. Our cold meals - salads - were tasty. The fries that accompanied the hot meals, however, were cold and tough. Dessert was fine. It took nearly two hours from beginning to end. Hope they can do better next time.

Kicked off with a Bitterballen. First for me but not my last. Paired nice with my first Perth Brewery, Last Duel Lager. Fish tacos (definately not my first ;) were great. Was going to post a pic, but tacos went down too quickly. I'll recommend Rocky River Cafe to the crew. Service could have been better. Friendly, but a little spaced.

Came with my husband for a nice, quiet dinner. The patio was exceptional; picturesque and atmospheric. We had burgers, mine just the classic Rocky burger and his the mushroom and Swiss special. What a great place! Came late into Perth and staying at the BW. Just looking for a quick bite and I feel so lucky to find this place. They just closed the kitchen Keith went above and beyond to make me a salad. The iceberg salad was awesome and they were just so nice; relaxed in the back yard patio and PK joined and chatted. Could not have been a nicer end to a long day!

I enjoyed my decadent pierogi grilled cheese sandwich, thickly sliced bread layered with pierogies, cheese and sauerkraut (I left off the caramelized onions, but if that's your jam, I'm sure they'd be good)--what a great combination! The fries were perfect, and the pickle garnish, also good. I had the bitterballen to start. It wasn't a dish I was familiar with, but I'm so glad to have finally been introduced. They were crunchy on the outside, smooth on the inside, and the Dijon mustard accompanying it was perfect. I can't wait to visit again and try something else from their menu!

This cafe/restaurant was very nice and the food was delicious and abundant. I had the Atomic Bomb a delicious grilled cheese sandwich with perogies and sourkraugt inside. Just watch out because it was super hot! My friend had the chicken tacos that were very fresh and delectable. The taco was a bit overflowing with food so a fork is called for. The place is like an old Victorian house, very cozy.

This is hands-down about the best cooking I have had in the area. The staff was extremely accommodating and made my wife and I feel like royalty throughout the entire evening. Special attention was paid not only to the quality of the food but also the presentation it was served with. This place is hands-down a must visit if you are in the Perth area, you will not be disappointed!

Tried calling to place an order, left a voicemail like they asked, 1hr later still nothing. Enter the place only to be shoved behind another guy waiting for an order (was an empty house with a few people visible), got put in behind 5 other people walking in for a dine-in, when I had already been waiting to be served. All I wanted was a cheeseburger and I gave up after well over 3 hrs on placing an order.

We visited this restaurant yesterday and were very happy with the service and food! We were very pleased with the precautions put in place due to covid, all staff were wearing masks and seemed to be following Health Canada regulations which made us feel very safe. We came during a busy dinner hour for takeout and although our food took a little bit of time to be prepared boy oh boy was it worth it! The food was delicious (especially the fries)! And although it was a long wait, the servers and kitchen staff were very kind and profusely apologized. Overall great experience!

My wife and I have eaten at Rocky River Cafe several time and always had a great meal. However, I had never ordered a burger. Yesterday I ordered their Rocky River burger. It is by far the best burger I have ever had in a restaurant.

We have tried nearly every restaurant on and off the strip in Perth and this is now an instant favourite. It’s patio transports you to the Florida Keys when it’s hot out, the service is bang on, the portions are plentiful and the coconut cream pie was the best we’ve ever had. My wife doesn’t even like cc pie but kept forking into my slice. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere! (No photos, too busy enjoying!)

Quaint and not overcrowded. Went for a Sunday lunch and was happy to see that that they were serving brunch as well as lunch food. Really enjoyed the food but where they lose my five star reading is that my friend ordered French toast and asked for maple syrup. When the host replied that they won't be needing it it was with an air of how dare you disgrace our food. They said it was sweet enough but that they would bring my friend maple syrup if they tried it first and still needed it. Rub just the wrong way Edit: it would have been nice to at least provide it on the side and suggest that they try it first :)

Hubby & I stopped for an impromptu lunch & weren't disappointed. We each enjoyed an adult beverage (Perth Brewery for him & Brickhouse Cider for me) and then we each decided to try the different lunch special. Hubby had the Bryan With a 'Y' Sandwich (basically a cheesy bacony homemade burger served on thick-sliced toasted Italian bread -- he said it was really good). I had the California Chicken Burger, which was also very tasty -- a real chicken breast with tomato, avocado & a delicious lightly-spicy mayo. Only problem we had was that both hubby & I received cold fries with our meals... once we were able to get the waitress' attention, she had the kitchen make us some fresh fries. Bathrooms are up a flight of stairs; ladies' room was clean.

I wish the table given to us would be different: I was facing the entrance door, not what you usually expecting when booking the place over the phone.

Fantastic food, cozy patio and outstanding service. We enjoyed a perfect evening with our friends at Rocky River. The schnitzel was really good and the fish tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff worked so hard on a very busy evening - and despite facing a rude and unruly customer that tried to selfishly disrupt everyone’s evening , they kept their composure and stayed professional throughout. Hats off to the team at Rocky River and we look forward to our next visit!

Wow. Just incredible food with amazing presentation. Top 10. And the worst service I’ve ever experienced, bar none. Just terrible, terrible service. So terrible. 2 hours to get our lunch, and I’m pretty sure they forgot about us several times. I ordered a beer and then had to order it again 15 minutes later from another waiter to find out they are sold out. 20 minutes for a pop refill. Other customers came and left while we sat and waited. Waiters were indifferent and looked like they wanted to be anywhere else. $5 to add chicken to a salad? Just wow.

My friend and I had the opportunity to eat at this wonderful restaurant on Tues Sept 25/18. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff knowledgeable and helpful but oh the food was absolutely fantastic. We had the muscles in a white wine cream sauce which was just wonderful and she had oysters which were fresh and oh so tasty. We shared one of the specials which was a hambuger with swiss cheese and mushrooms and onions. It was one of the best hamburgers I have eaten and their french fries are homemade and tasty. I rarely order dessert but they had a coconut cream pie which was their speciality. If you go just for coffee and dessert, please order this, you will never be disappointed. It was a wonderful experience and I plan on going back.

I normally love this place! However I pre-ordered an hour+ Thursday so our food would be ready within a certain time(5-10 min wait is reasonable. 1. the wait for our preordered food was 25 min. Clearly they forgot to put order into the kitchen. 2. I ordered based on the prices listed on their active facebook account. These prices are NOT up to date . They are 2-4$ above the menu prices listed on fcbk. 3. The beet salad was 16.25 and barely had feta and pecans for the price of it. 4. Burger bun stale. If it was one issue I would have not complained but it was a 85 $ bill with a 9$ tip. When I called the owner he agreed and said the wait was a bit long etc. He appologized and offered us our $ back.. which isnt what I was expecting but ok. Fast forward to when I pick up our $$. I was asked by the waitress "WAS IT REALLY THAT BAD" then greeted at the door by the other owner saying "WAS IT REALLY THAT BAD... YOU BETTER FIGURE IT OUT" This is lovely customer service. So I get home to a note and 50 bucks(not 94) that said our kitchen staff is great (im sure they are) and sometimes you have to wait (yes 5-10 ) not 25 for a preorder. Also that they were only giving me 50 bucks which would have been fine but thats not what they told me on the phone. ROCKY RIVER YOU FIGURE IT OUT ! Signed not impressed

This is one of those hidden gems. It's very unassuming from the outside with only a small sign but inside is quite beautiful with a gorgeous patio. I ordered the ribs and my parents ordered the fresh PEI muscles. The muscles were cooked and seasoned to very nicely and the ribs were some of the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend and go back.

We dined at Rocky River a couple of years ago and found it amazing. We are elderly and concerned about the virus, so we called the cafe to inquire whether the staff are fully vaccinated. We were told by the lady who we spoke to that she was not allowed to give out that information. Needless to say we will not be dining there any time soon nor will any of our older friends.

My friend and I stopped in for lunch on Sunday. The place was very busy, the patio was unfortunately booked, I would suggest if you're wanting the patio, make reservations in advance. Service was excellent from the moment we walked in. Portion sizes were big. I ordered a small beet salad with chicken and I was stuffed. My friend had the quesadillas and had leftovers for home. Very happy with this restaurant, we'll be back for sure!

We've been trying to find time to get to Perth since Keith and Brian left Deep River and finally made the 2+ hr drive this weekend. It was absolutely worth it! Just steps from the Rideau, the quaint building opens to a beautiful shaded patio in the back where we enjoyed the best brunch this side of Winnipeg. (Sunday brunch is their best kept secret, by the way) Everything on the menu is fresh and served to order and the service is prompt and friendly. If you are anywhere in or near eastern Ontario, this is the place to be.
