By far one of the best places in town to grab and go or sit down if you are looking for anything other than a bar and grille style pub. The owner is super nice, always willing to strike up a conversation if you want. The food is authentic and to die for. You can't go wrong with either chicken or beef shawarma but their platters if you're looking for something a bit bigger or even to share are also perfect. I'm not the type of guy to eat out much, but it's hard to resist a weekly trip to JJ's!

Nice spot, but pretty far out in West Van. Food was tasty and portions large, but service was poor. Untrained staff. Waitress was unprofessional and didn't know how to use a cork screw and was in your face too friendly. Strange. And the wine list was the worst I have ever seen. Whoever looked after it knows nothing about wine. If you live out there, convenient and easy, but to drive 25 minutes from the bridge forget it.

Extremely overpriced, undercooked food and poor service. While I was waiting to send back my burger to the kitchen because the inside was undercooked and raw, my waiter was on her phone for 10 minutes and was extremely unhelpful. Wouldn’t reccomend

Found this little new gem in walking distance to our place. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the design is beautiful. We sat next to the fireplace which made the experience so lovely. I ordered the mussels while my husband had the steak. The sauce for the mussels was amazing with a large portion. It was absolutely delicious. The steak was done very well and the vegetables were fresh with a lovely variety of baby broccoli, bog choy and carrots. They also served us complimentary mac and cheese appetizer which was delightful and comforting. The manager came and checked in with us and was a wonderful host. Really appreciated her friendliness and passion for her work. Great place, and we will be walking down for more meals and conversations! Thank you.

We are so happy JJ’s Kitchen has opened for business. We have been there 3 times so far and love the ambiance, fabulous food and the attentive and welcoming staff. Julia and the chef have come to our table to make sure we are happy with everything which we have been every time we have been there. Our 3 year old granddaughter especially love this place and always orders the calamari! Thank you Julia and all the staff. We look forward to being there soon.

We just had our office Christmas dinner at JJ's Kitchen for just over twenty guests... and it was simply outstanding !! From the moment you walk in , the decor is incredible, and the hospitality is superb . The chef provides very generous portions on the entrees with a standout osso buco . A shoutout to the bartender also for creating a perfect espresso martini . The fireplace is warm and inviting for December but can't wait to try the gorgeous patio in warmer weather . Would definitly go back to this local gem !

I personally don't ever order chicken shawarma at shawarma restaurants because it always looks so dry; that was absolutely NOT the case at JJ's! The chicken looked so fresh & juicy, I couldn't resist and I was not disappointed ???? We stopped in for lunch a couple of days ago... I had the small chicken shawarma with a side salad (very delicious red cabbage slaw; pretty sure I tasted mint in there ?????), and hubby had the large chicken shawarma meal. I really liked the stuffed grape leaves... no idea what was in them, but they were good! LOL I didn't try the tabbouleh because I can't eat onions, but hubby said it was good & fresh tasting. The owner was very outgoing & friendly, and we felt very welcomed. We'll definitely be back ????

JJ’s is THE premiere location for fine dining in West Van. The atmosphere is fresh and glamorous. I went for brunch and ordered the Veggie Benny. The chef went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. The service was incredible and the drinks menu is varied and beautiful. I recommend the mango margarita. I’ll definitely be back!

Best food I have had on the north shore plating is phenomenal, you can taste how fresh all the ingredients each plate is made with love I cannot wait to go back! The shortage in staff may cause a bit of a wait some busy days but if you can get over that and be patient with the staff you will be pleased with how friendly and hard working everyone is. Great potential yet already so amazing.

Let me start out by saying THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING BUT expect a EXTREMELY LONG WAIT and VERY VERY SLOW service! I am giving it 4 stars because the food was like I said amazing and I understand new restaurants have some growing pains when they first open. I just want to set an expectation of very long wait times for service and food BUT it was incredible when we got it. We were very excited to try this restaurant and it was our first date night out in years and JJ's had just opened up down the hill from us and our friends that had joined us for dinner. We had a 7:45 reservation but arrived early ( at 7:30) so were seated at the bar. We were not greeted by the bartender, given any drink/wine menus or offered any drinks until about 2 minutes before our table was ready. We were promptly seated at our table at 7:45 but once again, no menus of any kind, no water, no drinks. The server greeted us at about 8:00 and brought over the incorrect drink order and asked if we were ready to take our order, we let her know we had no menus to order from so she, very kindly gave us menus. She did not return for another 45 minutes to take our order. By this time it was 8:45pm, we had gotten one drink (which was delicious) and were starving. Our food didn't get to our table until 9:45pm. The restaurant had started to clear out a bit around 9:00pm so we had a few more drinks during the wait but were famished. So although the food and drinks are fantastic the service is very poor. Most servers looked very flustered and overwhelmed although there was only inside seating so no more than 12-15 tables. I don't want to be too harsh as it is a new restaurant and I understand they are still ironing out service. However, I will be waiting a VERY long time until returning. If this was a more established restaurant I would have given it 2 stars at most and would never go back regardless of the incredible food.

JJ's Kitchen is a fine establishment. I bought two chicken shawarma and one beef platter. The portions were generous with fresh vegetables, tender meat and rice. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Just go now. This place is simply lovely. It has been recently completely redecorated and it is bright and charming. We sat near the fireplace and admired the sparkling bar area with undercounter lighting. The food was amazing. My dad had a beautiful crispy hot halibut and chips and I had a beautiful tower of seared ahi salad. They were both lovely to look at and every bite was delicious. Nothing "pat" whatsoever. The waiter was gracious, the owner popped over to chat, and this place is my new favourite. Run don't walk before the word gets out and you can't get a reservation.

Yesterday we had brunch with another couple at JJ's. This was the second time that we have all had brunch at the restaurant . The staff are very friendly and out going making you feel welcome. The atmosphere and decor is pleasant, bright and modern. I would like to see JJ's succeed where others have failed in that same location over the years but improvement is needed if they are going to attract and maintain a clientele. The first time we had brunch in November we found that the food was tasty but just barely warm and we chalked it up to the fact that they were still ironing out the wrinkles of a new restaurant. Unfortunately yesterday we experienced the same thing. Our food was served on cold plates and was barely warm. We did not voice a complaint yesterday but after talking with other friends who have eaten at JJ's I learnt that they too found their food on the cold side on a recent visit. The quality of the food and presentation is not the problem. Surely this issue of lukewarm food can be resolved by making sure that the plates are heated and that the food is delivered to the patrons in a timely manner.

Excellent food and service this past Saturday night. Everything we ordered was delicious! Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. The food was provided in a timely manner. The room is beautiful. We plan to return in the near future. We're very happy to have a restaurant of this calibre in Eagle Harbour.

The food was good! The on-the-house birthday dessert was nice! But this is good food with many rough edges that need to be resolved before this spot becomes worth the trip and expense. We arrived and it seemed the staff were struggling with where to seat us as one couple had just asked to be moved in front of the fireplace (because the heating wasn’t working). This was very obviously where our group was supposed to be seated, but they moved that couple in front of the fire and gave us their old table - it was quite awkward actually. We ordered Carpaccio and Mac and Cheese balls; the Mac and cheese balls arrived but the Carpaccio didn’t, so we were informed it wasn’t available when it was supposed to arrive rather than when we ordered it. The Mac and cheese balls seem to deliberately come as 3, which is a terrible idea because you’re either a couple or two couples, so you’ll always have either 1 extra or 1 less than you wanted. It SEEMS like a cheap trick to make you order more (which we thought we did with the Carpaccio!). Since the Carpaccio never came, we were now in the awkward position of having 3 items amongst 4 people. Both steaks arrived without the mashed potatoes, and neither the kitchen nor the staff noticed they were missing until we pointed it out. The heating isn’t working, which is what it is but then they brought in the outdoor propane heater and tried lighting it - this filled the entire place with the typical propane rotting egg smell and made us all gag. I saw the staff, especially the bartender remove their mask multiple times while handling the food and drinks. I personally don’t care much about this but it seemed unprofessional. I saw the bartender pick a wedgie out in the open, ugh. I saw the bartender fish around either olives or cherries with his hands and hand one over to a server who ate it - just strange behavior if you ask me. The bill was delivered face up, without a booklet, to the birthday girl. Just strange. After I paid the final receipt AND bill was placed face up for the whole table to see. Just a strange way of handling the bill. We ordered a bottle and it wasn’t placed in a cold bucket. I thought that was standard for most upper-end restaurants. All in all, this is clearly meant to be (and priced as) a higher end restaurant without any of the higher end service or mannerism. Perhaps with some polishing and practice it will become worth another visit.

Went for our anniversary, was expecting high end service and ambiance given the prices and marketing. Was underwhelmed, the interior did not seem high end and was not well done. The appetizers were not very good, we had the carpaccio and mussels. The pastas were good and definitely the highlight, if you go we highly recommend the pastas.

For a brand new restaurant (2 weeks) No hard opening yet. They are just working on getting it together to be expected. Food is absolutely amazing. We need this in our area. They need more staff. It is a really cool place so if you are looking for work, they could use you. Current staff and manager are absolutely lovely. Get out and support our local industry. Be sure to make reservations. They are very busy already.

If your ferry gets delayed, skip all the other restaurants and eat here. Best pasta and Caesar salad that I've eaten in years! The server Robert was awesome and didn't question our request to sit on the heated, covered patio, so that was wonderful too. Overall, a fabulous experience in regards to food and service.

A hidden gem in Eagle Harbour. Everything we ordered were perfectly done. The signature dish lamb shank and seafood linguine were delicious. And the portion was so generous. I also love their cheese cake. The cocktail Mango Margarita was good. The waitresses and manager were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back to try their platters and fish and chips.

Highly disappointed with the service here. We had a reservation for New years day brunch only to be told that the restaurant was closed as they had no chef after we arrived. I don't know why we weren't notified earlier, it would have saved us a trip.

Gem hidden near Horseshoe bay. Best new resturaunt in Vancouver. Fine dining at reasonable price. Quiet upscale ambiance. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend the truffle Spagetti meatballs, absolutely delicious, pasta cooked to perfection. The meatballs could use a little more tomato sauce (little dry). My girlfriend had the seafood linguine and she loved the mussels. The only thing average was the tiramisu, not up to par. I will definitely go back and highly recommend it...definetly worth the drive.
