As you can read, it reaches an feddbacks average is nearly the top, and it's founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we may be pretty sure that the valuation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put reviews when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Greek restaurant.
This restaurant is a must try if you like Greek food. The dishes are homemade and so delicious. I tried the Calamari in tomato sauce, & spinach pie for an appetizer. For the main dish I had the salmon wrapped in phyllo pastry with a side of rice and grilled veggies. The red sangria was delicious and a must try. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in BC next. ????????????????????❤️
Moussaka is Amazing! The Best Greek food.. The music, candle light, history.. The famous people, the feeling you get of deja vu.. Ambience..this place has been in business for over 40 yrs
Great place, awesome food and wonderful staff! The owner is also very friendly. He came to my family's table to say hello and wish my now 1 year old boy (Theo) a happy birthday! My family and I love Theo's restaurant! Definitely recommend. ???????? Also, I'd like to mention that the decor is very beautiful and while sitting down to eat a meal, the seating area is very cozy.
Great food, really well cooked. Service was great and the staff were friendly. The inside of the restaurant is actually quite amazing looking; lots of big rooms. Atmosphere when it's busy must be amazing. Prices are a bit high, but it's very good quality. Strongly recommended; it's a local institution.
Best restaurant in Penticton, food out of question!, beautiful place
Can't say enough good things. The food is ultra fresh - the feta was melt in your mouth delicious, the tzaziki super fresh, the meats were cooked to perfection, and the salads were crisp, and huge, with just the right amount of very light dressing so that the veggies shone. It was my first night in Penticton, and the staff, including the owner(nice!) made a special effort to welcome me, which was such a lovely personal touch. He explained that everything is made fresh daily, which is clear by the freshness of everything we had, including the most delicious baklava and orange cake. Try the beet salad - it was worth going back just for that alone. I loved, loved this entire experience, from the food, to the atmosphere (very authentic), to the outstanding service. 5 star.

The garlic prawns ???? was 10/10! Also the lamb shoulder was very juicy too! Highly recommended.
Food was great service was not so great, we had a 3 person birthday party of 5, and the young hostess gave us nothing but excuses. I've worked in the service industry for 30 yrs and if I gave my customers nothing but excuses.. I'd have none. We drove from Oliver. And we will not be back.
Without finding this place online you may walk past the rather unobtrusive entrance. Once you step inside you will be amazed being transported to a European garden hideaway. It is hard to pick which food was our favourite as we went with the shared platter and got a taste of many of the top items. Lastly, the customer service was every attentive especially by the owner who was very active in checking in and making sure all guests were having a great time. Do not miss this place if you are in Penticton!
Went to Theo's for our 10 year wedding anniversary, they made us feel like the most important people in the restaurant! We sat at the romeo and Juliet table for our special night, the service, food and dancing made our night perfect. Not to mention that was the best rack of lamb I've ever had, fantastic Job guys will be back again!
We had a great night out after not eating out in a restaurant in months. The service, food and ambiance was so great. We can't wait to go back again.
Such an amazing ambience and detailed decor that makes you feel like you’ve entered Greece to escape for an evening of fine dining. Lovely place for a group meal or a romantic date night out
Food. Atmosphere. Service. The trifecta of an enjoyable evening. Should you go? Yes. I ordered the two shared platters so we could sample the range of what they offered. If you’ve never had Greek food you’ll be spoiled. If you’ve experienced Greek food you’ll wonder why other restaurants don’t match the quality and luxuriousness of flavor. Go. It’ll be worth your while.
Meal type
Great service and amazing traditional Greek food with Gluten free and Vegan options. The beet salada was amazing but didn't care much for the Dako. We took my mom here for her 73rd birthday. She loved it. I've always loved the atmosphere.
Our group of five dropped by Theo's last night. It was quiet and our server was very good at her job. Our calamari, lamb shoulder, beet salad meals were all exceptionally good. Upon leaving, we learned our server had created the lovely mural we had been admiring throughout the evening. Theos is always a treat!
Service
COVID PROTOCOLS ???? Great Service along with Delicious ???? Food for Dinner ???? Ambiance was Wonderful...Can not wait to come back for Lunch Opening ????♥️????
I was in Theo's a while ago now but it is one of the best romantic dinner spots in town!!!
Really good flavours, everything was very tasty!!! Great portions and the service was really good too???? 100% would go back and recommend.
Absolutely incredible on so many levels! The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. The wood burning fireplace next to our table created a lovely cozy feel. The food was excellent! The best Greek cuisine myself and my husband had ever had. (The hot appetizer platter is an excellent choice to try.) The service was wonderful and we were very pleased to see all precautions were being taken with the events of the pandemic. Would highly recommend Theo's for any dinner occasion!
After the dinner we were full. Everything was amazing.
Had a fantastic meal with my wife and two children. I ordered the lamb shoulder and my wife ordered the roasted chicken. Both were amazing. If you need an idea for a night out...go here.
Has been far too long since dining here; and I remember why I loved it so much the last time! beautiful atmosphere, warm friendly caring staff and good authentic food. Despite dining alone (always a 'risk' in a romantic atmosphere, I was made to feel welcome from the front door to the final bill... can't go wrong
Exceptional food. Relaxing atmosphere and very subdued music. I can have a quiet conversation! How novel. Update a year later, same wonderful place and the food is spectacular!
A very nice experience including a belly dancer, food was good and the owner took the time to come by to see how we were doing. It would be nice if they offered complementary pita bread, but hey you can't have everything.
Lots of vegan options! Thank you for that! The decor in this spot is beyond stunning. It really sets the mood for any occasions. We love the photos with the hand written descriptions, it tells the story of Theo's history. Quiet on a Thursday which was great. Weekend is most likely busy! Definitely will be going back next time we are in town!
Don’t order out, the portion sizes are laughable, the calamari flavour is non-existent. We politely called to asked if there was a mistake but they were rudely insistent that 6 shrimp for $18 is fair. Update: after being up all night with their $100+ meal coming out of both ends, I can confirm Theos is the worst Take-out in Penticton. Bad portion sizes and prices, bad customer service and clearly bad food quality. Shoutout to door dash though for refunding our money
If you love amazing Greek food like my family does Theo's is always a winner. We have been eating here for almost 30 years now and since I have had to eat gluten free for the past 10 I can tell you they have lots of options for my fellow Celiacs.
Food here is good. The beef souvlaki, potatoes and veggies were very good. We found the chicken souvlaki and rice a little bland. Also, the pita and tzatziki was a really good appy. Only major complaint would be the pricing for an extra souvlaki. The entire souvlaki meal was 21.5 but and extra kabob stick was 14.99 which is crazy.
Food was delicious. Recommend the Calamari dinner and the Tiramisu. Service was friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable as we sat on their outside patio.
Great food, friendly service, authentic restaurant I always measure Greek restaurants by their Lamb shank and Theo’s certainly stands among the best.
Theo's is a must-go every time we visit Penticton. The food is delicious and the portions are HUGE. We finally learned our lesson after all these years and shared a main (lamb shoulder) and appetizer to avoid having to roll ourselves out! The service was friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to make sure my toddler felt comfortable and welcomed. Unfortunately I have to dock a star as the tables are too close together given the current pandemic. We asked to move when we initially arrived, but once we did they kept seating people at the tables next to us.
The Rabbit was fantastic. Pita is something else - doused in butter but fresh light and fluffy. Their calamari is yum. Their trio-dip is big winner! Will come back
LOVE the atmosphere. Food is GREAT. Wanted to try the rabbit, sold out. Had the seafood platter.ove it.
Love this place! Not only is the food amazing, the atmosphere inside makes you feel like you've stepped into someone's house in Greece. You would never know from looking at it from the street. Also, they did a great job designing the interior such that whever you are seated you feel like you are in a small intimate setting, even though taken as a whole, the place is quite large. Be sure to look closely at the photos on the wall and their captions before leaving.
This our go to whenever we’re in Penticton or Kelowna. The lamb is an absolute delight. Rack or roast lamb both are amazing. So are the prawns uvetsi (sp?). The saganaki (pan fried cheese) and deserts are so so but the rest is amazing, definitely with the detour.
I had the Greek Salad and lamb chops. Prices were expected and standard for the area. Food was good. The waiter forgot to deliver an item to the table and had to redo a bill. Other than that, dinner was everything I expect from Theos, which I attend once a year, every year. New ownership suites the business well.
Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food! I'll visit here again when we come to Penticton.
Update July 2021: Food is good. This is a big (all nooks and crannies), busy and quite tightly packed restaurant - it’s arranged like restaurants were before COVID. Waited 15 mins to be served today, but service was good when it arrived (server was just very busy). Thanks. August 2020: Very good: Cosy atmosphere;good Greek food; friendly food. Pragmatic COVID policy - not too over-bearing. Recommended.
A true gem of a restaurant to visit in Penticton! The ambiance and decor immediatly take you to Greece! A fantastic and comprehensive Greek food menu, that is absolutely delicious! The staff and proprietor are super friendly and provided great service. Highly recommend to anyone!
Came here for my boyfriend's and my anniversary. Parking was easy to find as there's a lot in the back as well as plenty of street parking. I asked for a cozy spot and I got it! There's so much natural light and the decor is quaint, service was great, and food was delicious. I just wish we had room for dessert!
A little heavy on the ambience, but the service and food are both very good. We've been here a few times now, and never disappointed with the quality of our meal. A reservation is a good idea, but they'll do their best to squeeze you in if they can
We went to Theo's last night, and we wouldn't go back. They seem to have done away with all previous Covid protocols - no servers were wearing masks and the tables were extremely close together with no partitions between them. I realize that some people may be fine with that, but we definitely were not comfortable sitting within arms-length of two other groups of people. We had the tzatziki and pita, artichoke salad, rice pilaf (side) and calimari dinner. Most of it was unremarkable - my boyfriend enjoyed the calimari itself but the rest of it was not very flavourful. We would recommend trying somewhere else if you are craving Greek in Penticton. Edit after reading the owner's response: Firstly, I am not sure which customers he is referring to, as we WERE wearing masks, we did not have a "sour look on our faces" and we were not moved to another table with more space around it. I am fully aware (and acknowledged in my review) that masks and distancing in restaurants are only highly recommended now, not required. I simply wanted to point out the lack of both because some people are not comfortable with that - better to know beforehand. Secondly, the owner's rude response to me and to many other customers here further cements our decision and recommendation to never give this business your patronage. That is NOT how a business owner should talk to their customers, even if they have a difference of opinion.
This is our favourite restaurant in Penticton. We come every year for the last 4 years: the quality is unwaveringly good. If we are in town for 4 nights- 2 of them we will be at Theo’s. For two we usually split the Theo’s platter for two. Then we will take the left overs for a picnic lunch the next day. We just tried the lamb shoulder for the first time and it is amazing- fall off the bone tender. Highly recommend.
Food was excellent, service was extremely polite . Definitely will be back. We celebrated our 25th anniversary here tonight.
Theo's is a literal treasure in Penticton. Like walking into another wold. The staff are warm, the wine is generous, and the food is authentic and overflowing with pride and love. I can't say enough good things about the space they've made, and the vibe you feel when you walk in. I will never visit the Okanagan and not make the drive to dine at Theo's.
Great food, good service, all at a very reasonable price. You get lots of delicious food, so prepare your belly. Everything we had was amazing. Was expecting good food, but definitely a little blown away by the quality and the taste. Will definitely be back.
Walking into this location makes you feel like you’re in Greece. The perfect romantic spot to take a date or to treat the family. Food is amazing and the staff know their stuff!
Delicious food, excellent service. What a joy to be welcomed to a restaurant again post- pandemic.
Probably the best! Absolutely one of the best and truly authentic Greek cuisine and ambiance any where! Delicious delicacies from Greece and the Greek Isles. It doesn’t matter what you order from it’s diverse and salacious menu you are guaranteed an amazing Greek experience and feast for your taste buds. Excellent selection from the appetizers, to lunch and of course, dinner! Very good selection of wines from abroad and most of all from right here, the Okanagan, the epicentre of the wine culture of the greatest Canadian wines. They also serve great cocktails as well. The authentic Greek decor make you feel like you are right there, in the Mediterranean Greco Islands! The service is nothing short of perfect and friendly. I highly recommend this perfect little piece of Greek paradise in the very heart of the Okanagan! I have had the opportunity to dine in excellent restaurants in varied locations in Canada, the US and other parts of the world, and I wouldn’t be to far of if I would come right out and say this is one of the very best restaurants in the whole of the Okanagan! Because of its in-house homemade cooked dishes and simplicity of items (mostly all) very fresh and its Greek home feel! Great job and congrats to the owner, chef and staff!!!
If you ever walk into a Greek restaurant, you’d also know what it’s like walking into a Greek’s home. Spackled in layers of white stucco. Interior walls appear built by Ivo Shandor from Ghostbusters as they block out Wi-Fi the moment you turn a corner. They have wine cellars in the basement. Their front lawns are fenced in for some reason. There are fountains. And I love the fact that when you pass through the doors of a Greek home, you still find yourself inexplicably outside. So yes, Theos’ is magnificently Greek. You pass through the main doors and see one dining area without a roof and green vines snaking through the structure like it’s vital for support. Pushing further in, you find a stack of firewood topped with a saddle (for some reason) despite seeing neither a fireplace nor a horse. Past the bar sits another dining area and…wow…it looks like your outside again. There are more vines and an irregular stone floor like a road in Eastern Europe. Above, there’s a balcony from the upper level. Above it all sits a translucent skylight…so, okay then, not technically outside, but it sure does paint an illusion. Upstairs offers the impression of entering an entirely new establishment. Weathered wooden floors and matching chairs. Every place setting already made. More hanging vines and bleached statues. Admittedly, it’s a mess; one could get lost in a place like this. It’s deceptively large with mismatched visual cues, almost as if four different people took one corner and didn’t bother to consult anyone else. It’s Greek. And I loved it. For one, with exception of the obvious inclusion of souvlaki, most everything on Theo’s menu is offered without compromise or even translation. Oh sure, erudite gastronomes may recognize taramasalata or pita bread, saganaki or spanakopita, but even I popped the bubble-gum with fasoulatha, orekteka, yigantes, or daoloth, which are definitely not Cthulhu Elder gods…save for that last one; that was a test. The dishes are clearly authentic, probably handed down by first generation immigrants (if not, I’m fooled). I was so enamored with the selection that I opted for just appetizers on my first visit. Thankfully, Theos follows a beloved tradition of complimentary bread, this time with an amazing tapenade accompaniment. The menu is extensive with appetizing options just begging for larger group visits. The next year (only a few weeks ago), I returned with said entourage, and with more choices came reassurance that Theos must be one of the greatest traditional Greek restaurants this half of the country. If there’s one claiming better, tell me now. I have tried the kotopita (sautéed chicken, feta, artichokes within a phyllo pastry), tiropita (feta and parmesan melted in a phyllo pastry), and the dako, the latter one of the strangesy Greek dishes ever ordered. Dako is a thick crusty chunk of bread soaked in red wine and garnished with garlic, tomato, feta cheese, and olive oil, which is finally topped with an oregano branch imported directly from the homeland. As part of the experience, one must peel and crush the herbs overtop. It was…interesting. The fact the bread is soggy was a bit of a shock, but the combination of toppings redeemed it. What else can be said about Theos…I want it in my hometown. Badly. Greek restaurants are almost entirely family-run operations. They inject as much tradition as they dare into their business, making their operations a reflection of their soul, in all its raw passion and unpredictability. However, that can also lead to burnout resulting in these restaurants not lasting past a single generation. Theos bucks that trend, going on forty years. All my local Prince George Greek restaurants have closed, the last holdover managing to survive 30 years in a depreciated economy. Now I must travel to Penticton, obviously not a torturous experience.
We’ve been coming here for years. 5 star plus experience every time… until now. Last two times we’ve been, it’s been just. Food was still good (maybe slightly less quality) but higher prices and smaller portions. The big difference has been the service. On one occasion we had jokingly referred to the water server as the “water ninja”. You looked away for a second and the glass was full when you looked again. The recent service has not lived up to expectations. Tonight it was poor. The meal wasn’t bad… but I’ll no longer ensure Theo’s is on the agenda the next time we visit family in Penticton. We’ll try elsewhere.
We had dinner today at this wonderful restaurant. Thank you guys very much for the wonderful food, the room is very unusual and beautiful. The food is very tasty and the portions are very large. We came with my spouse from Vancouver, we love to go to Greek restaurants, and have been to many Greek restaurants. Your institution takes the highest place. You are the best, we will definitely come to you. I give 5 stars, but you deserve all 20.
Fantastic everything! Our dinner was absolutely delicious, our server went above and beyond. Great atmosphere! Belly dancing. I will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening ????
Our favorite Greek restaurant in BC! It’s the most authentic place we’ve been to outside of Greece. The flamed Saganaki and the rack of lamb is to die for!! All their food is good and service is always top notch. A definite must try in Penticton! Thank you Theo’s for always being amazing & thank you Krystine (our server) for making our dinner experience just the absolute best!!
Great food all the way from appetitzer to main. Great portion. They have the most fluffy bread ever!!!! Service was excellent!! Definitely recommended!
Delicious Greek food in a lovely, authentic atmosphere. Excellent pita and hummus, dolmades, and Greek Salad. My hubby had the lamb shoulder and it was delicious as well.
Average food. Far from generous with the portions, and the entrees don’t come with pita bread or Greek salad. For some reason it is very busy, but everyone at the table was struggling to understand why.
Wonderful and delicious! Never had a disappointment yet. Recently celebrated my Mother's birthday. The Owners/Staff treated her like a Queen! Eating ambience is delightful. Prices are very competitive to other similar restaurants in the Penticton area, definitely in the moderate range. All items ordered came to our table boasting exceptional taste. Very large portions. Ending up taking a fair portion home. Every table was given delicious bread to dip in a tasty, seasoned vinegar olive oil combo. Spacious eating area. Candles, flowers and music to transport your experience to Greece. Great assortment of starters and appetizers. We were not disappointed. Exceptional service. The Restaurant presented my Mother with a delicious free birthday dessert--candle included. Highly recommended. Go early or secure a table with reservations. Parking in front on Main Street or in the back. 5 stars from me!
Great! We enjoyed the evening with fine service, ambiance, decor and of course great food. The spanikopita was spiced just right, domaldes tender but not falling apart, and moussaka that just melts in your mouth! Great slection of both local and old-world wines. Great for a special evening out!
Fantastic Greek restaurant with traditional exquisite food!
Best restaurant in town, if you're looking for delicious food and great service, then look no further. Theo's restaurant impressed us in every way. The service was outstanding, very nice and friendly. The setting of the restaurant is comfortable. Most importantly the food is amazing, best Greek food ever.
Stopped in for dessert. Our server kimberley was amazing. Can't wait to go back for dinner. 5 stars
Dinner
Where do I start with this restaurant. From the minute you walk in its like stepping into a corner of Greece. The atmosphere is wonderful, warm and inviting and whether it's the artwork on the wall, the pictures and stories that come with them or the authentic floral trees there is always something catch you eye and transport you to a different part of the world. Then we move on to the meal. We were treated to the most amazing Greek Salad and Spanakortiropita which was to die for. The breading alone was amazing and I would of been happy enough to eat that all night, but nonetheless then came the Seafood Platter for two. Salmos Sto Phyllo that was the perfect mixture of buttery and flaky that it melted in your mouth. Oysters that were and so beautifully cooked that I had to lick the shells clean. Calamari that had a flavor so delicious that it made my taste buds dance with excitement. And the Grand Finale the Huge Black Tiger prawns. Served in a bowl of glorious garlic butter sauce. When I took my first bite it was enough to bring a tear to my eye. I don't think I've become so overcome with emotion biting into a prawn in my whole life. To top it off it is all served on a bed of rice, vegetables and roasted potatoes, so good you might not like you own mothers cooking afterwards. I'm not normally one to stay for desert, but the food was so good we couldn't stop ourselves from getting Ice Cream and Ekmek. The deserts where just as decadent and wonderful as I expected. The staff was absolutely delightful . We were treated to live entertainment during the night and we also got to meet the wonderfully charismatic owner Greg as he came and introduced himself to us. You can tell this man has nothing but pride and love for the restaurant and what he does as he should. So in summary whether you are looking for amazing food, amazing drinks or an amazing night I cannot recommend Theo's enough. Theo's is not just a restaurant it is an experience. This is my new all time favorite place restaurant and anytime I am in Penticton I will defiantly be going back. If I could rate this place I would give it 100/5 Stars. Unreal Experience had belly dancers we were there for our anniversary I had the rack of lamb -wife had rabbit, was the absolute best lamb I have ever had and was absolutely blown away by food, the service and the ambiance, such a cool setting and a real casual, yet upbeat vibe will absolutely be returning for another great experience !!
This was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food was absolutely mouth watering! Quick, efficient and friendly service. I atmosphere was so unique and cozy! A 5 star experience!
This is a very beautiful restaurant with lots of plants and pretty ambiance! I had the spanakotirapita dinner and it was was good except barely any rice and minimal potato which is sad because that’s the best part, so not very big portions. Server was great. But so disappointing to see how salty the manager is who responds to some of these reviews. Reviews can help you improve and learn without being petty or calling people liars. the immaturity level is so upsetting and makes me wish we hadn’t even ate here and supported this restaurant.
Such a beautiful place to eat, the restaurant feels so comfortable and the staff are very welcoming. Even though there were a lot of customers, the food came out really quickly and the service was excellent. I had the ribs and it was well portioned and well priced. I would definitely eat here again.
I was brought here twice in the past week for my birthday! The food was amazingly delicious—-the service was excellent—I love the ambience—I love the eccentricity of all the decor—I will definitely be back!!! Thank you Tanya for the great service.
The food and service was wonderful! Very good drinks. The Theos platter for two was very good and could easily have served an additional person.
Yummy Greek food! The portions were excellent and the flavour was also on point. We split both plates and were stuffed by the end. The patio outside is fairly small, however the inside is huge. Service is fair. Would for sure come back here when I'm in Penticton again. Loved the amount of veggie options on their menu!
Theo's is such a wonderful atmosphere. It really has a Mediterranean vibe. The service was fantastic and our server was very helpful navigating the vegan options for us. There wasn't much at the time but we found some things we'd like to try. Greek can be a hard one to make vegan but the dishes were more than satisfactory. Portion size was excellent as we had lots to take home. The moussaka could have been a little better but we left pretty happy. The price is fair considering the portion size.
What a great experience we had last night. Food was delicious with lots of gluten free options. Atmosphere was relaxed and the staff was welcoming. Definitely recommend sitting on the patio at the fire pit table.
Too many young workers aimlessly walking around looking for something to do without interacting. Food was still up to par as past Theos. Hospitality is lacking . fire is always a fave.
Only 3 stars - food was ordered and almost to the table when I was told my allergy couldn't be accomodated. So the other 3 people at the table enjoyed it, but I left hungry! Poor timing on their part and super awkward for us. I heard the food was good though!
Theo's has a warm and welcoming ambiance. Except for being seated in the back corner of the restaurant which was not the best, eveything else about the experience was great. Great waitress, fast turnout of food, and delicious food. We ordered the meat platter and it was perfect. It fed 2 of us because we were starving, but could have easily fed 3. Highly recommend!
Visited from Vancouver and had the best experience here. My friend and I both concluded that this was the best Greek food we have ever had outside of Greece. Atmosphere was authentic and charming as was our server and she was very knowledgeable. Was very impressed by the vegan and gluten free options (very rare for Greek food). Will recommend to any friends visiting the area. :)
