A picture says a million words and I just don't have one to share! We sat on the patio during the later part of the evening where they allowed our 4 month old puppy to enjoy people watching and smells with us. Our waitress was so nice! Quick! Orders were great and personable. Though they were out of the oh so popular Greek Lamb roast the 8oz steak was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender it just melted in your mouth. They subbed out the mash for the classic Greek lemon roasted potatoes and flavorful seasonable vegetables. Definitely recommend and we will be back again!

Wonderful restaurant! Delicious, authentic food. Ceasar salad is soo good with full leaf, anchovies and garlic and perfectly dressed. Lamb chops and mashed potatoes were delicate , smooth and very flavorful. Loved the seafood fettuccine in a tomato sauce. Ample seafood. Very well balanced drinks were generous and never shorted on the alcohol. Service was professional and attentive. Very well done! Goes to the top of my favorite list!!

I have removed one star for the wait. 1h wait for the filled chicken and there was almost nobody in the restaurant. Second, the restaurant is a bit pricey, but I must tell the meal was very good. The waiter / waitress was kind too. However, I would have appreciated being advised of such a wait before I order. Also, please provide some bread or snacks when you realize there was a problem with an order. Thanks

Food was okay. The service from the older lady at the front door/ lady who served us was rude after we arrived 3 minutes late because we are not from Penticton and were trying to figure out how to download the app for parking. She stated that it's almost 5 after. She also did not check for ID or our vaccine passports. Her service was poor and she was very short. And in a rush to get us out the door. There was some confusion about when the dinner menu started and she scoffed and walked away. Loved the food, but would reconsider revisiting. Not sure if I would recommend this to a friend.

Excellent restaurant. The Mediterranean and Greek dishes are really authentic. We’ve been for lunch a few times and dinner as well, have never been disappointed. The sockeye salmon in the 007 sandwich or the Mumbai salad is amazing so fresh and perfectly cooked. Chicken and Brie sandwich is another favorite. Dinner favs include both lamb dishes and the Cioppino. Seafood here is trustworthy and delicious. Good wine selection and very fairly priced menu. Our server Heidi was gracious and attentive. Tim has also served us and he is always excellent, tireless and always has a wonderful smile to go along with his top notch service. We give it a full 2 thumbs up ????????????????

Have been eating here for 2 years and have enjoyed past experiences. After ordering lunch today, I will not be going back. Placed an order for myself and a friend for takeout. She has many allergies. One item that she has always been able to order with no alterations, came today with an item she is highly allergic to. When the polite waitress looked at the menu with me, it did show this item. But over the last 2 years when we have ordered it, it was never on there. So we were extremely shocked to see it this time. If it had been our mistake I would have apologized and paid to have it remade. But when the waitress explained this to the owner/cook he yelled obscenities loudly so the other customers in the restaurant could hear as well and called me a liar. His attitude and reaction were highly unappropriate and uncalled for. Will no be going back. You don't treat your customers like this.

Got seated pretty fast then sat at our table for about 20 mins before a server even acknowledge us and said that she would be by. We wait for another 15 mins with still no one even coming to take our drink order or greet us. We eventually just left because none of the servers even cared to help us despite walking past us multiple times. The restaurant was also relatively empty so why we were left without so much as a hello from our server us astonishing. Definitely will not being coming back.

Mainly good food and friendly service. The Moroccan lamb was delicious but the fish taco starters were heavy on the salad with very little fish and not much flavor. The concept is confusing. Its a wine bar but there is a saddle near the bar. The menu has many Greek dishes but they also serve steak. The tv shows rodeo. Is it trying to be all things to all people? The place was very quiet on a Wednesday but looked busier on a Thursday.

We will say that being a "very" busy establishment in a resort community we try to give all of our patrons the most exemplary service we can provide. We "never" base our service on how people are dressed, being as we often deal with guests who come in from the lake and are in tshirts, shorts/swimsuits. We recognize that every customer is important. We feel disappointed that you were not satisfied with your service, however, abusive language is not acceptable, regardless of how you feel about your service. No one deserves to be treated in such a manner, and although we are disappointed that the service was not to your liking, we, and all the patrons who witnessed the incident are equally offended by your behavior. Mostly we are offended by your lack of understanding and appreciation of someone who works in the service industry, regardless of what you "think" she or anyone earns.

Decided to give The Cellar a shot after spending time on the Bench. We were able to get a reservation last minute, albeit on a Thursday, and we were so happy we did. Excellent service, wonderful food and a menu that made me reminisce about my time spent in Greece. These chefs don't fool around. The quality of the ingredients is fantastic, the flavors are wonderful and the wine list is an excellent representation of the local wineries. I strongly suggest you give it a try!

Our group of 8 were seated on time at 7pm. Our wine order arrived in a timely manner and we ordered our food and then we waited. Other people came, ordered, ate and left and we were still waiting for our food. Our waitress was great and talked to the kitchen and was told the food would be there when it was there. After about 1 and a half hours, we spoke to the manager who was rude and told us good food takes time to make! She was totally unapologetic. Our food finally arrived after 2 hours and was very good. However, we received no apology nor any offer of free wine or anything else. It was very disappointing!

We were not able to dine. We called to make reservation but phone was disconnected. Went to the restaurant which was really full. No signage saying wait to be seated so when we went to the bar a lady was quite short with us. We were told we needed to wait for a seat, when we explained we didn't know as there was no signage she stated "well that should be a given". She then told us we couldn't dine as we didn't have a reservation and told us to call. When we explained we did she then said if they are full for the evening they take it off the hook. All things we had no idea about. I understand they are short staffed and stretched, there is signage stating it all over, however we were unimpressed with how we were treated as tourists, looking to support this particular establishment. We apologized for not knowing and went to a different place. We did not go back there this trip as we really didn't feel welcomed.

A little cold with cars driving right beside us. The patio heater helped some but it was never turned up enough to do much good. The food was good but we were cold. They need to train servers that the mesh around the burners need to flow before they throw any heat. They are too cheap to tell them that though.

The Greek salad was amazing, but the charcuterie board a disgrace to the wine bar name that they try and call themselves. If you want to pay $30 for cheap orange cheddar, feta cheese and cheap garlic sausage, and a cut up apple as your charcuterie board, then eat here. Don’t worry, if you complain to the manager they will be super rude and blame you for their lack of service after the server doesn’t come to your table for your entire meal/manager never comes.

The restaurant was half full and our very polite waitress explained that the bartender (the owner) was very busy and did not allow staff behind bar. Thirty five minutes later our table received two glasses of wine and a bottle of Strongbow. Wine by the glass is sold in 5oz, 8oz and 12 oz sizes. Our table ordered a 5 and 8 oz glasses strangely enough the carries for both were the same size with an oz missing out of one. The owner uses 6 oz carafes (bar industry standard) and calls them 8 oz. You could put up with being screwed on price if the drinks which take seconds to pour didn't take 30 plus minutes. Regardless our meals were warm at best, one had to be sent back, forgot to mention our meals arrived before our drinks! This was second time at the Wine Cellar, both times the owner messed up the evening, very nice staff but the owner won't leave them alone or quit interfering. Won't be back and will be sharing my experience with anyone who'll listen.

Just returned from a super diner at The Cellar Wine Bar and Kitchen. We enjoyed the Greek Moussaka and the salad. It took a little while to get served but we were very pleased with our meal.

First off I had to call 8 times in a row before anyone even answered the phone.... I ordered a pick up and was told 15 mins....waited sitting at the bar for 40 mins.... When I got home 5 mins away the kalamari was already cold and rubbery my fish taco was a fish stick out of a box with coleslaw and my mumbai salad had the driest piece of sockeye salmon I had ever tasted.... The mousaka was the only thing that we were satisfied with and we prob wont ever go back :-/

My group waited almost 1.5 hrs for the entrees to come! The server was so poorly trained. When we complained about the long wait time, he didn’t acknowledge our frustration. Instead, he asked if we would like to order a drink while waiting ?! I told him I did not want to order any drinks. We only want the food to come. Then he proactively offered the manager to come to our table. However the manager never came to my table. Food wise, the appetizers were mediocre. Entrees were in higher quality

Drove from Calgary to Penticton and after the long haul I was tired and very hungry so I asked my son to find us a restaurant that had a good steak dinner. He met me at the Cellar and I ordered the 10 oz sirloin with crispy onions and a blue cheese butter. It came with fresh seasonal vegetables that were grown in their own garden and delicious mashed potatoes. The steak came to the table on a sizzling skillet with blue cheese butter bubbling away under it. As I cut it it he steak I was able to drizzle the butter over each bite .. simply amazing! Each bite was more spectacular than the previous one! My son ordered the Mousakka dinner and it was also extremely delicious and a very generous portion. He was unable to finish his meal and had to take part of it home. The ambiance of the place is very nice and contemporary and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I will definitely go back again next time I’m in Penticton

We ate here once before and it was fabulous so we decided to go here tonight for a "sure thing" dinner because we don't go out very often. Sadly disappointed. Stood at the "blue line" to be seated and had waiters and waitresses walk by without acknowledging us. We were eventually seated and it went downhill from there. Nothing offered to drink and no specials mentioned when we were seated. We read the menu, made our selections, closed the menus and waited until our waiter showed up. At that point he unfolded a piece of paper from his pocket and read us the specials (again, after we'd finally decided what to eat), and asked us if we'd like a drink and took our dinner orders. Our drinks were finished during our appetizer. When the waiter took the plate he left, then later returned with our dinner and then asked if we'd like another drink and we said yes. Dinner was served and finished and still no drinks. I had the stuffed chicken which was dry and tasted only and strongly of cooked spinach. Wife's salmon was also overcooked. Waiter never checked on us at any point during our meals to see if things were okay or he would have been told that both meals were overcooked. We finally flagged down another waitress and cancelled the drinks after dinner because they still hadn't arrived our waiter finally came to us and offered us something complimentary but we were completely put off at this point. His excuse for not brining us drinks was that they "must have been lost in the mix." Either a poorly trained new waiter and a weak chef who shouldn't be serving at a "top" restaurant. Very disappointed especially after our first experience being the opposite. When factoring the prices vs the quality and service this time, we won't be back unfortunately. We visited the Cellar on Wednesday July 22nd for my friends birthday during our vacation in pentiction and I have to say that our server Tim was fantastic! Being someone who works in the hospitality business it's very hard to find attentive and professional service however Tim hit the bar high! I never complain, but my steak was unfortunately overcooked but without even having to finish my sentence Tim noticed the mistake and corrected it. The remake steak was PERFECT. We appreciate Tim and the company for making our friends birthday a memorable one! We will definitely be stopping in during our next visit to Pentiction.

The decor defines the ambience for what one would expect with a name like The Cellar; clean, classy and comfortable. The selection of local wine was great. It's nice to see a restaurant support the regional craft. The food was fan-bloody-tastic. The Moroccan lamb was succulent and flavoured perfectly. The ony thing more exceptional than the food were the staff. Athena (one of the owners), Kim and Tyler made this a momentous experience. I felt right at home.

Went because of the good reviews but we very disappointed. The meat was fatty, but our veggies were over cooked. It a bad sign when every meal comes with the same sides. I felt like I stepped back into the 90s eating here. Heavy cream sauces and salt to cover up bland food.

Food was great. Felt unwelcome the moment I walked in the door. There were maybe five people in the place and we were far from under-dressed. Our server sort of lumbered about and mumbled to us disinterestedly, acted judgmental and generally just sort of irritated us. If you want to eat and be ignored this is your spot. The food is really lovely though.

To start with, the calamari was overcooked and was quite small with only 3 pieces of jalapeno in the entire dish. Drinks were ok. My $42 steak was served sizzling in a fajita platter, smoking out the entire table as I had to eat it quickly before it overcooked in front of me. The "crispy" onions quickly absorbed all the moisture on the platter and were soon too soggy to eat. Also, my vegetables with the dish were served on a separate plate so I sat there watching them get cold while waiting for the steak, which I didn't even finish. It somehow had no flavor. The blue cheese butter I was looking forward to was basically not existent. Like other reviews have stated, the fish tacos were 85% lettuce. To top it all off, the couple we were with got their food first and were completely finished their meal before we received ours. We voiced our concerns but were not given any comps on the bill.

The restaurant is clean and well appointed, the food is all in all pretty good and well priced. We stopped in for lunch on a Monday afternoon and loved the patio. The wine and liquor options are expansive and cover all the bases. My only real gripe was our server, he was courteous and knowledgeable, but seemed really disinterested in our order or with checking on our table. We would certainly return the next time we're in Penticton to compare, but it left us feeling a little put off.

Beautiful restaurant and good food but that is where it ended for us. Our group of 8 waited 2 hours for our food to arrive with no apologies whatsoever. The server was good but the manager was extremely rude to us. The waitress asked the kitchen and they said it will be ready when it is ready. Good food takes time is what the manager told us while everyone around us got their food and left. We were still waiting. No comps, nothing. We had ordered 2 bottles of wine and expected at least 1 bottle on the house. Very disappointed.
