REVIEWS OF Salty's Beach House IN Penticton

Was good overall. Server and hostess were nice. Not sure why we had to wait 15 when the restaurant was empty and the patio was half full. Food was 7/10. Fish tacos could be crispier. The lettuce wraps need something more in the sauce. Poke bowl was fresh and good, small portion for the price. New item enchilada were probably the most popular on the table. Good flavor.

The service is great, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is fabulous, and the view spectacular. We were there on a very cold, blustery day and sat at the front where they have a gas fireplace which kept us toasty warm while we enjoyed our lunch. The salads ( mixed green with chicken for me, ahi tuna for my companion) were huge, fresh, and really tasty. Also, try the Bahama pizza. Some reviews say it's pricey, but it seems to fall in line with fair pricing for the quality of food and service. Nothing but good to say from me. 5 stars

Super yummy brunch! Limited brunch specific choices; but you can also have lunch food for brunch :) Hawaiian iced coffee (?) Was a great way to start off a muggy day.

Had a great meal here last night. Fun decor. Clean and Covid protocols were observed. ( Thank you to mgmt !) Menu gad a wide selection of meals and "bevys" Staff are pleasant, capable and enthusiastic. Meal came quickly, prepped and served to our expectations. Quality of food was very good. Wine list repped, local wines. Prices are very reasonable and reflect the overall quality of this resto. Will most definitely be back.

It wasn't very busy as the waiter staff were hanging around the bar. It was so cold inside I had to put my down filled coat on. I finally got a waitress and ordered a drink and food. I waited and no food arrived but I had finished my drink I kept staring at the wait staff but they ignored me..people across the room had food before my order was taken. When my food arrived-enchilada meal it was ice cold...they offered to heat it up and burned it and therefore inedible...NEVER AGAIN...it has really changed and not in a good way...it is expensive , cold and burned..save your money and go somewhere else...I spent over $50 and couldn't eat..guess the owner and manager don't care

Came for happy hour and the food was so good! We got the Rasto Chorizo, Fisherman's Pot, and Scallop Roti dip. All was very flavourful and portions were big! Right by the lake, this is the perfect place to eat after a nice chill day.

Salty's has always been delicious in our experience. Price range is $$ but their calamari is among the best in town (we think) and the service is excellent. Sitting next to the fire table was definitely cozy. :-) Drinks were also top notch.

Had the Calamari. Was more beans and red peppers than calamari. Definitely didn’t order a veggie plate. The little bit of calamari we did get was mostly batter. Had the fish and chips. Fish was mushy with not much flavour. Wouldn’t eat there again. Was trying to support local but hate paying good money for bad food. The service was great.

Dine in space is limited due to provincial health protocols for Covid 19. Most tables are four tops so be prepared to wait if your party is at the 6 per table limit. The food is good and the menu is varied. We enjoyed the Crab cakes, Fisherman's pot, and the Fish & Chips. Generous portions.

Great atmosphere. Definitely a tourist trap! Food way overpriced, portions small, drinks watered-down. Likely to not return, but they don't care! Lol

Had dinner as a group of 6 a couple of days ago. Were informed there would be a 45 min wait, which we expected. Not a problem. Once we were seated, we were promptly looked after for drinks. Getting repeat beverages wasn't impossible, but it took a while. My wife's meal was really very bland and not cooked or prepared all that well. Having said that, all of the other meals were prepared excellently and were delicious. We had a great evening, with better than average service, and mostly excellent food. Will definitely come back. Would highly recommend Salty's for a great dinner as a couple or group.

Delicious food. Haven't had such enchiladas in quite some time. Loved it. Will visit again this summer :)

Such an efficient staff and fantastic service. It was our first day into Penticton and we only had a short amount of time to grab a quick bite before our wine tasting appointment. We ordered the Caesar salad with Cajun chicken and the fish tacos with yam fries. Delicious! There was a piece of oyster shell in my taco but once they found out about it they rectified it immediately. I had a wonderful time here and will definitely be back.

First time at this place , loved the location, good service. Food was good too. I loved the scallops remoulade & the tofu crunch roll the most. Calamari was good too Ana came in big portions. We also got grilled salmon for my son & it was also good. Chocolate mousse for dessert fed the three of us lol. Even drinks were good Recommended! Will be visiting again for sure

Never disappoints! Love this place! Great options for the family, drinks are great, food is awesome! Not overly priced. My meal at Boston pizza was more expensive the night before! We ordered: appetizer: tuna roll. Meals: mini burgers for our little one, shrimp tacos (gluten-free, dairy-free), seared tuna poke plate, fish & chips. We all loved everything! Service was great - restaurant and bathrooms were clean!

Worth the wait!! \we waited over an hour for our table but it was absolutely worth it!! The service was perfect, the drinks were delicious, and the food was not only to die for - our appys came out super quickly and the entrees were at the table literally as i was finishing my last bite of the crab cakes (which I highly recommend).

The calamari was good, but could’ve done with more salt and pepper. The mains were great, very tasty. We did have a minor issue with one of the staff members though, we had asked one of the servers for a spoon for the fisherman’s pot dish, she went to grab it, but came back with nothing. After 10 minutes, we had to ask another server for the spoon. The new server then told us they didn’t have any clean dinner spoons, but gave us a dessert one, which was fine. However, the first server never even came to us to apologize or to say she just forgot about it. When we called her and told her we no longer needed the spoon since her coworker had brought us one, she just said “okay”. She looked very young, so that might be the reason why this happened, but if you are working with the public, you gotta have customer service skills. Anyway, we loved the food and most of the staff seems to be very friendly and helpful. On Mondays, they have $5 margaritas, which was also nice. The spoon incident did spoil a bit of our experience though, and instead of staying there for a few drinks after dinner, we decided to leave. Hope the young employees get better training!

Best service!!! Our waiter (I believe was his name was Matt) was amazing and not only had us giggling but he was so very attentive and always one step ahead of the game. Amazing food! Really awesome drinks and fantastic location cannot go wrong with Saltys in Penticton!

If you like seafood, you will definitely like this place! Everything we had was delicious. Started off with some crab cake appetizers (made with real crab), then had some ceviche and some mussels. All were great. The mains that followed were fish and chips (melt-in-your mouth good) and the fisherman’s pot. Both of these were great as well. I would have definitely had the halibut fish and chips (sadly they were out), but the cod was incredible in its own right. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

i can’t believe how AMAZING this food is. we weren’t too sure about eating here but for the first time in a long time i ate everything and more on my plate. definitely recommend! our host was amazing as well super nice and took care of us.

The service was lovely, the food was quite good. Drinks were tasty. The space was a bit uninspired, but I suppose it's on par for a beach house... The Tuesday drink was dangerous delicious and $9 for 2oz is an easy win!!

Their menu has almost every option you would want and accomodates a lot of diets. We had the Yam Fries (which were extremely salty), the Honey Bourbon Salmon, Fisherman’s Pot and tacos. The Fisherman's pot was a lot more spicy than we thought. The salmon was the right amount of sweetness. Overall this is a classic go to restaurant of ours in Penticton.

The best Patios in Penticton, service is awesome, and food is always on point! Saltys is a must for any visitor, and locals alike! The Mai Tai is my current favourite drink…..but the Boat drink…..so good too!! Scallops Remoulade also a must????

Janice Rodgers

Good food, great service, sat outside under heat lamps..the server's mask kept falling below her nose when she spoke... that's why it was not a 5 star experience. I am sure that has been fixed..

Colleen Mazzei

This was a terrible experience it seemed as though the staff has no interest in the serving myself and my friend. More concerned about chatting with the rest of the staff. In addition I saw the bartender reuse our water glass touching the ice scoop to the glass and then into the ice. It is unfortunate as the happy hour is good and enjoyed the food. Also, $5 for a 5 ounce house wine and $11 for a 9 ounce???? Would not go back!!!

I am very surprised with the rating of 4.2 for this place!! The rating smells fishy. From service to food quality and attitude of the host in the front this restaurant is below average even in small city like Penticton. The food quality in many of lower end and cheap chain restaurants are better than this place. We had their fish and chips, fisherman hotpot and blackened tofu on spinach salad. The only dish that resembled what is described on the menu and was eatable was the fisherman hot pot. As far as service, we were a group of four our food did not arrive at similar time and the food got cold. Drinks were brought too late, after appetizers were finished, no one checked if we needed more drinks. The host in front did not care if you were there or not

Pretty good tasting food. Quick friendly service. Great beer selection. Nice view of the lake. I will be back.

Can you please change the menu it’s been pretty much the same for 6 or so years. The daily soup has not changed, some minor changes like taking the best sandwich away. please give the menu a refresh. But this one star is not for staff. just need a refresh on the menu, Service and food is always top notch.

Nice spot, and delicious food. We didn't have reservation (for Saturday lunch) but it didn't take much till they provided us a table.

Great food good value, nice atmosphere. Great location right on the beach in Penticton. Beautiful patio upstairs and downstairs. Indoor seating as well. Casual beach house atmosphere. Food was great. Seafood chowder, curry muscles, fish tacos. A little heavy on the cilantro in the tacos, but otherwise very tasty food. Good fast service.

Catherine Carlson

Go here every time we come to Penticton and it never let's us down. They have a great waiting system where you put your name down and they text you when your table is ready. We know this so we like to relax on the beach until we get the buzz. Inside the restaurant supplies a great atmosphere with great people. And of course the food is the best.. we have never been disappointed by what we have ordered. Will be back again.

Horrendous experience at Salty’s!!! It’s 2021, finding a hair in your food should never be an occurrence ESPECIALLY in a pandemic! Unfortunately this was only one issue out of many that we (our group of 10) experienced during our visit at Salty’s. When our group made reservations ahead of time, we only had 1 request- we politely asked for a patio table. Upon our arrival, no patio table was available so they made us wait 1 hour!!! What is the point of making a reservation if you have to wait an hour anyway? Finally once seated the waitress informs us that happy hour isn’t available on the patio, it was unfortunate she didn’t tell us this earlier as we purposely came for HH. When we got our menus, they were FILTHY. Again, this should not be happening in a pandemic!! Along with a bug (mosquito) found swimming in one of our friends beers! To top things off, a hostess dropped a glass of water on one of us at the table on accident. I get that accidents happen however this has never happened to any of us anywhere else. The service was incredibly slow and everything took an inexplicably long time, even just getting water. A few mins into being there, our table gets a new waitress and we are told that the other one had to go home (strange?). Yet the entire time we see her walking around the restaurant. The whole place including the manager seemed incredibly disorganized. It’s a shame because we were really looking forward to dining there. Some of us were there last summer and it was not like this, so these issues might be caused by the new ownership.

Calamari is the best my fiance's ever had Enchiladas were fantastic ,drinks were good

We ordered the fish tacos, shrimp & chorizo burger and a cheese pizza for the kids. Everything was ready in 20 minutes. The food was flavorful and fresh! We were all happy with our meals! Half way through my lunch I realized that I got shrimp tacos instead of fish- but it was so good I didn’t event bother letting them know. I would definitely go back to try some of the other dishes!

Daughter and I went as it's one of my favorite places. Shes gluten intolerant so the bahama breeze pizza was made with gluten free crust. I wasnt impressed as it was over done...tough and burnt on the top crust. The scallops romalaude were amazing!! The ceviche had too much liquid in it.
