We had a family lunch at Lachi while visiting Penticton. We tried their lunch specials. The food was awesome. The portion was good as well. The staff were really friendly and caring. They even provided us extra none for free. I would highly reccommend Lachi for authentic Indian cuisine.

Used to love there curry chicken lunch special decided to make a big order and totally can't believe it...now it's thigh meat not chicken breast chunks ...the spices in the sause wasn't mixed right didn't taste good as it did before it's totally even a different coulor Even found a bone in the sauce contaner.... And now the bread it cut in half to charge u more ....not happy customer anymore

Good authentic Indian food, we found the spice levels inconsistent but the flavors were great. Tandoori Mix was ordered mild, the chicken and fish had a nice small heat but the lamb kofta while delicious was a bit too hot for the mild plate. Presentation was fantastic on a sizzling hot plate with sauteed vegetables. Butter Chicken was ordered medium but was a bit too sweet and there was no heat at all, would only rank this decent. Palak paneer was good and the medium spice level was appropriate. Chicken Vindaloo was ordered hot and delivered was ranked as good flavor. Beef Rogan Josh had a rich vibrant flavour and was the favorite of the hotter - London hot selection. Overall our group of 5 all had great feedback on the dinner and the service, only real complaint was that Butter Chicken needed to be hotter and the London hot could definitely go up in spice.

This is by far one of the best Indian restaurants in the Okanagan. Everything is fresh you don't have to wait long for your meal and it's always packed full which means something. I recommend getting the chicken curry hot! It's a great spot for lunch too. It takes about 10 minutes before your served so it's a quick lunch if need be. The staff is pretty great too. Always friendly and will change the dishes to accommodate those with allergies. Even good for small children. Also, I paid 9$ for a meal. You can't even get that good at McDonald's.

We went to Lachi for a dine in experience after a long closure. We were anticipating the delicious food. We were so disgusted by the filthy table top We left with our dinner packed up to go because we felt cleaning protocols were not being met . There were 6 people in their tiny kitchen and not a mask in sight. I hope they concentrate on keeping their customers safe and keep up with safety protocols or risk losing business.

This is the best Indian food I've had in the Okanagan. Nothing greasy, delicate flavours and every dish had its own distinct taste. Some Indian restaurants wind up with the same spices in each curry dish, Lachi puts in the effort with their food.

Went to Lachine for the first time and the restaurant had an amicable environment and courteous staff. The appetizers were delectable and the main course was sepid and appealing. A main course doesn't even come with any rice and there's no option to upgrade to another type of nan even though it's literally just adding cheese ??? I even offered to pay extra but they wanted me to buy a whole other side of nan for an extra 5 dollars because I don't like plain nan. Cheap

Amazing Indian food. I took the waiter's suggestion and got the Lamb Balti with rice and cheese naan. Highly recommend! My boyfriend got the butter chicken. It was very sweet, more so than any butter chicken I've ever had. The sauce almost tasted like mango. We still enjoyed it, but the balti brings a more complex and enjoyable flavor.

It was the worst butter chicken I've ever eaten it tasted like pizza sauce the service was absolutely terrible I complained about the food the waitress took all of our dishes piled them onto our napkins and took them right off the table I got up to ask for a manager which wasn't in nor was the owner then they gave me a bill for $40 the waitress said if I didn't like the food I still have to pay for it even though she took it away do not eat at this restaurant you'll be disappointed.

Got the dinner combo, Rogan Josh and vindaloo with garlic naan. Tasted good, nice spices in the curry but jesus were they ever oily. We managed to scoop half a bowl of oil from each of the curries. Naan bread the same story, soaked in oil. Cut the oil out and this place would be a winner.

By far the best Indian food in town. Whether it's at the restaurant or takeout/delivery. It's too good. The butter chicken is the best I've ever had - really flavourful and not super sweet like other places do. Their chili chicken was a very unexpected surprise, I'm now addicted to it. Delicious naan bread. I'm already hungry for the next time I get to go here!

We ordered samosas, papadoms, paneer pakora, chicken korma, butter chicken, paneer tikka, prawn Masala, palak paneer, basmati rice and garlic naan bread it was all wonderful! The mild was a bit hot for the kids but nothing a drink of milk couldn't take care of. The staff we're all very polite and friendly, we would highly recommend eating here and we will be back next time we are in town!

Excellent Indian cuisine! Great lunch specials etc. I've enjoyed trips to India and 'yes' they do it right. (ex) If you order Chai, you don't end up with a lame chai flavoured tea bag in water. Instead, they will arrive with a proper cup of Indian 'Chai'! We visit Lachi regularily. Never walked away unsatisfied. Lunch specials are awesome!!

Thursday night 6:30 half full, sat ourselves Young waiter brought water and menu quickly, very polite. Explained menu and helped understand degrees of heat Ordered food and naan, when arrived within 15 minutes no rice needs to be ordered separate from main course. Butter chicken excellent, had a 3 ° of heat just right for wife, had mine at 4° definitely noticeable difference. Food was excellent, ordered 1 order of Naan and 2 orders of rice for 3 people more than enough. Wait staff attentive but not obtrusive Over all very nice meal

On vacation with the hubby. Went there for supper tonight and we split the lachi veg platter for an appetizer, followed by the dinner for 2. It was all absolutely delicious, and got some of it to go as it was just too much, even though we are both hearty eaters. Will definately return next time we are back.

Did take away and was told it would be 40-45 minutes. That seemed long but whatever, I show up and I'm told they're a bit behind. Then 35 minutes later the food finally is ready. Some is hot some is warm. So all told, food that could have been cooked when I called took 80+ minutes. No real apology for the wait. The food was good but service was terrible.

Very dissapointed today. Arrived at restaurant at 2:00 pm for lunch and was told we could not come is as they were closing at 2:30 pm. Sign says open 'till 2:30 pm for lunch as does the website. If those are your posted hours, shouldn't you take customers until then? Very dissapointed customer.

Very nice tasty Indian food. Various delicious varieties. The decor, cutlery and plates give you the feeling of trying something new. The people serving there are nice, and the food preparation was relatively quick. I can agree on some comments regarding the cleanliness of the tables, as they are much less expected compared to the food quality. I surely can recommend the place for everyone and I think I can go there again and again.

Called my order in at 5:45. Was told it would be ready in 30. Arrived at 6:15, and not sure if it had even been started. Stood around in the restaurant for another 25 minutes. Got food back to the place and beef korma had exactly zero pieces of beef in it. Called, went direct to message. Called again, left a message explaining issue and requested a callback. Called 6 more times over the next hour, always straight to message. Never a callback. Food was quite good, but service was an utter disaster.

Best food Ive had in South Okanagan. Get the veggie samosas! Paneer and coconut naan was nice, not too sweet, which is to my taste. I like spicy food but ordered a 4 spice level which was not hot enough, so go with a 5 if you like more spicy. Everything was very fresh and steamed flowed until we finished. Try Lachi and enjoy!

Very rare for me to like Indian food in Canada. But, 'Lachi' is an exception. Food reminded me of India all through. We ordered, Chicken Chilly and Prawn Pakora for Appetizers. Malai Kofta, Chicken Karachi, Tandoori Roti and Garlic Naan for main course. Every dish was perfectly prepared. Naan and Roti are Crisp and fresh. Masala Chai was great for North American Standard. Visiting from the states and decided to take a chance on this place. Excellent, authentic Indian dishes. We had the chicken pakora (I recommend asking for mint chutney), chicken saag, and chicken tikka masala. Spice level was on point and very flavorful. The naan was fresh and yummy. This place was hopping on a Friday night, which should tell you something. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Just passing through town and amazed by this place. Had the lunch special with butter chicken. Surprised how dark a red the sauce was for butter chicken but it was awesome. I couldn’t stop dipping my hearty naan bread in it and wouldn’t let go of my spoon. Tender chicken and light rice with a reasonable price. Very impressed. Will stop here again, maybe even on my way back.

Wonderful experience! We came in not expecting much, but when we had our first bite, it was simply amazing. The chicken kourma and chicken karahi was to die for; very authentic! The naan and roti was very good as well. Not to mention, our waiter was very nice. If I ever come to Penticton again, I will definitely stop by.

Just ate here with the whole family. They were flexible with our reservation changes, and even seated right away when we arrived 20 mins early. We ordered the tandoori roti and plain naan with palak paneer, dahl, and butter chicken. We don't eat spice, so the 1/5 spice was just perfect for us. The food was excellent. The only negative for me was that the naan was a bit too crispy. My favourite dish was the dahl. For dessert, some of the group had raas malayee - my sister said it was the best she's ever had (she lives in Surrey, so that's saying something). I highly recommend this restaurant!

We were 5 ladies in Penticton for a wine tasting getaway and birthday celebration. We called Lachi and ordered 5 dishes for take-out. When it arrived we were shocked at how small the containers were . It reminded me of the little dixie cups of ice-cream. To make matters worse, they forgot the Chana masala that was ordered. My friend who spoke Punjabi called and complained and was told we could pick up the missing order tomorrow as they were closing. I paid $80 for that meal and we all felt we did not get quantity for what we paid. However the food that was delivered; was good. Just vety chintsy portions for the price. Will not order from Macho again. Thmumbs down!

Authentic food with a large selection of choices along with attentive and friendly staff made this place an absolutely amazing choice for dinner. Lachi was highly recommended as the place to go for indian food and I was not disappointed. My order consisted of 2 types of naan bread, a lamb dish, chicken dish, two vegetable dishes, a rice dish, mango lassi as well as desert. I can honestly say having had indian food from various cities over the years, this is excellent quality food. The meat is tender, the spices are beautifully blended, the naan is perfectly done, and the desert (raasmali) was nothing, and I mean nothing short of delicate perfection. In addition to this, there was more than enough food for two to have a large dinner and a second large meal the next day. The staff were attentive and friendly but didn't hover, which I especially enjoyed. The only disappointment I have is that I live 4 hours away. With that being said, I'm sure this will be the place I look forward to eating at when I return.

I rarely give 5 star restaurant reviews. This place is amazing. As a South Asian person, I can vouch for the authenticity of the flavours. The menu has some unique items (like the mango chicken - highly recommended). The Naan is so fluffy, soft and light. Very fresh ingredients, good proportions, and very reasonable prices. The service is also very friendly and efficient. The only con is that they use Styrofoam for take out and that is a travesty. Please increase your prices for a few dollars, I would happily pay extra for that option! Looking forward to our leftovers for tomorrow's dinner!! (Full disclosure - I don't know anyone related to this restaurant in any way and this is a completely unbiased review.)

Definitely been our 'go to' Indian restaurant since we moved back to the Okanagan this February. Really good food, really good portions and very well priced. Why only 4 stars? It's all take out since Covid, and Lachi's really does need to be more environmentally conscious and stop using Styrofoam. Also, by the time you get your curry home, a bunch of it has spilled out of those flimsy Styrofoam container(s) and can leave quite a stain on upholstery. I'd pay more for better takeout containers! I'd still definitely give 4.5 stars if I could though. Very delicious food!

Placed a delivery order last night at Lachi. Worst take out I ever had. Ordered 2 butter chicken suppers (not the special) 80 minutes later the delivery guy showed up with chicken that was so over cooked it was like rubber. Not even the sauce tendered it up over night. Aweful. This place is too hit or miss. Will not be dining in or ordering out from Lachi ever again.

Hands down BEST indian food in town. When my partner was commuting to the university in Kelowna once a week, this was our go-to take-out place on the nights she got home late. She could call them in Summerland and It would be ready to pick up by the time she reached Penticton. We've had dinner there a few times and its a super cute cozy place. The staff and owners are always very warm and friendly. Word of advice if you like it really hot: 5 hot is "North American" hot and is a mild to medium hot at best. Ask for it "Indian Hot" if you want them to pull all the stops!

Never did I think I'd have one of the best Indian meals of my life in Penticton of all places. We opted to order lamb vindaloo and a classic chicken curry with every type of naan they had. The garlic naan was the clear winner. I highly recommend you go the naan route rather than the rice route with their curries. Though I'll have try their Biryani if I'm ever back in Penticton.

Meal came out quickly, was exactly what we ordered, and was delicious. Our server explained the painting we were talking about, and at the end of dinner humbly asked if there was any way at all they could have been better, as you don't grow and learn without asking. They literally did everything right, so we had nothing to tell him! Will be back again and again.
