Disappointed. Not a skiff of avocado in the end pieces of the avocado roll, the rest of the avocado was blackish-brown. Seaweed salad was two bites of seaweed on top of regular lettuce. Miso soup was half portions of what we usually receive at other sushi places. Everything else was loosely rolled & falling apart.

TRUE VEGAN FRIENDLY I was starved impossible to eat anywhere in small towns If ur vegan always just grab and go and close at 6… we stumbled across this sushi restaurant and I actually yelled and cried in my hands in happiness. Vegan won ton soup???? Like I died and went to heaven. Vegan rolls with vegan dairy options use of vegetable broth instead of fish and more the chef came over and greeted us I was so happy I could have stayed all night!

Probably my favorite place for lunch in the Okanagan. Penticton for sure. They have some amazing lunch time bento boxes that have dinner time portions at appetizer prices. Plus, complimentary miso soup. I had the shashi box and it was fantastic. Best value for food! Friendly staff and fast service too.

The food at Isshin is very good, especially the tuna! Their salad dressing is a local legend and can be purchased to take home. Sadly, the restaurant is looking really dirty of late. A fresh coat of paint and upholstery cleaning would make a difference.

This is a great little gem of a sushi restaurant in Penticton. The restaurant is owned and operated by a Japanese family. Their prices are reasonable and they have great bento lunch boxes. Fresh and we'll portioned. Definitely recommend.

Long time Family run business in Penticton. Although, there are at least five Japanese Restaurants in the City, and, Lot's of options, My two Faves are Isshin Sushi and Kojo on South Main street. Both are incredibly Awesome! The hours of operations are a little different. Either way you will be Pleased! ❤️

Terrible experience. We were down there at 7pm at Sunday night and waited for a while although it doesn't look like very busy. When we were seated, no waitress asked what drinks we would like to have. Then when we started ordering sushi, we were told no enough rice for sushi. Can you believe that? So disappointed.

Being from the Vancouver area, we didn't have high hopes for sushi in Penticton, but this place had good reviews so we decided to give it a try. We order the "boat" combination, which, among other things, included a couple of fish tacos. Ordering fish tacos in a sushi joint seemed a bit odd and isn't something we would have done if they weren't part of the combo, but they were absolutely delicious. The prawn tempura and chicken udon we also ordered were well received by my picky 2 year old (and tasted pretty good to me as well.)

This is the Best Japanese food in town. And there is at least 6 other places. Food is incredible and authentic. Excellent prices and Delivery is available. Open 11AM to 2PM for lunch and 4pm to 8pm for Dinner. Sunday is just Dinner. They also have a store with Japanese food and products in the Apple Centre mall on Main street. The Restaurant is in the quaint old part of town. Lots of parking.

Isshin’t sho good. Sparse filling and mostly rice in their sushi. The lunch box I ordered was decent quantity for the price but the quality/taste was lacking, plus was nauseous the rest of the afternoon. Definitely stumbled upon this place between Christmas and new years because we were keening for some sushi and it was the only sushi joint that was open.

Yam tempura roll was good but gomae was bad. Instead of the usual nutty flavour and chunky texture, the sauce had a watered-down flavour and creamy texture. Agedashi tofu was OK but the sauce could have had more tang. I would return for a sushi bite.

Absolutely amazing quality, price, service, and style!! I ordered delivery right at 5pm and knew it was a good sign that I had to call a few times as the phone was busy. We're in the throngs of the COVID-19 pandemic and yet their service was superb (complete with masked and gloved staff to deliver)! I ordered gyoza, tempura shrimp (the best I've ever had) and a sushi combo platter. I would reccommend this place to everyone. Feels good to keep local businesses busy too!

Coming from Vancouver I have certain expectations. Good : Prices reasonable and the salmon sashimi was fresh with decent portions . Avoid : Maki sushi. Mostly rice with extra rice. Small amounts of fish etc. Pretty lacklustre . Stick with Kojo if you want better Maki.

Had lunch here a few days ago. The sushi was excellent as well as the accompanying miso soup, and exceptionally tasty seaweed salad - a first for me, and I was delightfully surprised! (Do note that seaweed itself has a slightly 'rubbery' texture compared to, say, lettuce, and that is normal.) For my own tastebuds, I've had tastier spinach gomai elsewhere, but my friend, tasting it for the first time, enjoyed it very much here. Prices are also very reasonable; service was friendly but perhaps a tad slow. But nice ambience; no need to rush away anyhow!

Horribly slow service. Ok food, average price, but it took them over 5 minutes to even acknowledge us when we walked in the door. We had to seat ourselves, hardly heard a word from our waitress, and then she never said another word to us aside from bringing our meals which took a very long time to arrive. It was a Monday night but busy. They're very understaffed. Try elsewhere unless you're not hungry and have all night to wait

I've been to this Isshin many times and the food has always been tasty and consistent in quality. For restaurant eating in Penticton that isn't fast food it also provides incredibly good value for your money. I will say that the service here can be erratic, and what you get really depends on how busy it is. It can be anywhere from O.K. to very poor. That being said, if prompt and thorough isn't super important to you and you like Japanese food, then this place is certainly worth trying.

Always great except for the veggie combo I got tonight....had those baby carrots that are soaked in bleach before being putting in the shelf prior to selling to the public . I don't buy those normally, nor should anyone else. Regular carrots cut thin would suffice. When we sat down I was initially impressed but after we received our food, we asked for the same water refill 3 times. We wanted to have drinks as well, but they never came back with the water and we decided to leave. I ordered the salmon roll and it tasted odd. My own fault for continuing to eat it, unfortunately I got really sick. I will not be going back
