Smoked Arctic char on a home made Rye bread crisp with an unreal topping of basically a pickled cauliflower but much more as a start just to wet your whistle , then mini savory Beignets with a Beet stained Cabbage pickle also a salad of white Beets , Beet tops , Goat cheese and greens with a nice oil drizzle over it ..... so yummy ! Main course of AAA New York Strip cooked perfectly , crispy onion topper , garlic/ butter mash , My girl had prosciutto wrapped Chicken Breast , Gnocchi and delicious Green Beans and to follow plum cake with Vanilla pod ice cream for me and Chocolate Gnash cake for Char ! Darren and his Staff are awesome , this place is awesome , I can’t believe I’ve not been here before , we will certainly be back ! Two thumbs up , 5 stars out of 5

Fabulous experience. The fresh herbs and produce grown on site make a difference. I had a hard time figuring it out...it was in a converted heritage house, high end menu and preparation, yet casual dressed servers, poppy upbeat music, and a disco ball above our table. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will come back if we are ever on the area

Absolutely outstanding experience! We went for the three course meal and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. We chose the baby back ribs and the duck confit for our entrees; the food, the ambience, and service were all superb. Fantastic value for the menu price considering you can wind up paying the same dinner bill for a comparative 'garbage meal' in this town if you don't take the time to do your research. Unfortunately we only discovered this restaurant on our last night in Penticton, but we're already planning another trip from Nanaimo soon just to be able to enjoy dining here again!

My husband and I had a recommendation to come here and we'll definitely return every chance we get. Chef Darren (?) and his staff offered a lovely dining experience. The aromatic rub on the duck confit was a lovely counterpoint to the herb cream on the gnocchi, the pork belly was melt in your mouth, and the creative dessert finished a lovely patio dining experience, including a friendly conversation with wait staff. I felt badly that there were so few dining, but I know it will be packed once summer is in full swing.

Extraordinary attention to detail and needs of our guests. The signature cocktails, the appetizers, main course, and desserts were excellent. My boyfriend and I found the main course to be disappointing. I ordered a steak (an $18 surcharge) that I felt was boring and not as a rare as I would've liked. Everything surrounding it was delectable, the vegetables were delicious and wine pairings were done well. The chicken parmasean was also nothing to write home about. You could taste the parmasean stuffing, and the vegetables, but the chicken was bland. Dessert was delicious but not enough for the price. 3 bites of cake of their choosing with sauce and a spoonful of vanilla bean ice cream. From the hype from the community, I expected more. I would not recommend bogners.

Food is absolutely delicious! Service is fantastic and atmosphere is charming. The only reason I give a 4/5 is because the portions are too small. My husband wanted to stop to get chicken fingers after sharing an appetizer, an entree each and a dessert each and he’s not a big eater. Another 1/4-1/2 size portion would’ve changed my rating to 5/5.

This was the top 3 meal of our lives if not the best . We were lucky enough to have the owner serve us and his knowledge and passion for his place was amazing. Hand picked veggies right off the property. Fresh herbs. Great local wines . Every dish hit its mark... but the pork shoulder chilaquilies and the cold pressed chicken thigh salad with roast corn and cous cous were spectacular! I wish this place existed in Vancouver!

I'm new in town and went last night and ordered the 3 curse menu. It was very difficult because there's no much to choose from. Food was average, but good and atmosphere was good too (nothing was special as some of the reviews mentioned) Would recommend for business dinner or very casual dinner, not for date night or special occasion.

Despite arriving a few minutes before our reservation time, we were kindly welcomed and given the option of sitting either in the patio or the restaurant. Since the temperature was fantastic, we chose the patio. Beautiful patio with big tables and homegrown vegetables and fruit. We decided to go for the 5 plates set menu, with just wine pairing for one (to share). Each of the plates were simply delicious. Generous portions, delicate flavours that combined well, passionate explanation by our server of what was in each plate and origin of each of the ingredients composing it. Simply outstanding. Really pleased with the experience. If you are around, definitely worth a visit. Set menu is a bargain for what you get. Thanks Bogner's!

We had such an amazing evening at Bogner’s! Sheila greeted us and made us feel welcome, and went out of her way to accommodate us numerous times, and was so great with our little one we brought along. We truly appreciated her hospitality and kindness. Each of us had a different dish and each one was out of this world. I don’t remember the last time I ate food that was THIS good. Every one of us had a clean plate by the end, including our little picky eater! Dessert was great too! We had such a fantastic evening and we would like to thank Sheila, the chef, and everyone at Bogner’s for a night to remember!!

The chef came to our table and told us what was being presented with each course. I'm sure the 8 + course meal was pre-arranged. Every dish a work of art, tasting fresh and flavourful. Waitresses are very friendly. They even set a table for the kids where they were treated like royalty. I have never seen kids so well behaved. I'll definately go back.

We wondered about the set menu experience and have been delighted on two occasions with the 5 course offerings. Each course is an experience in taste using Chef Darrin’s creative seasonings and sauces. Most of the vegetables and herbs are grown right on the restaurant grounds or his nearby farm. His guided tour through the entire meal makes it a special experience. He also changes up the menu so each visit is different. Bogner’s also has a good wine list featuring many Okanagan vintages, priced reasonably.

Went to Bogner’s last night for dinner. We had the three course meal. Started with Caesar salad then I had the Halibut followed by cherry shortcake. The food was fantastic. My halibut had a nice golden top but moist. The whole meal was so tasty. The atmosphere was cozy and classy. Our waiter Andrea topped the night. Highly recommend it

Absolutely delicious. This was our first time at Bogners and without a doubt we will be back before we leave. Their dishes are thoughtful, creative, and masterfully prepared without being pretentious. Whether you use a foodie or you just want to enjoy a good meal, you will be completely fulfilled. The menu changes regularly to match the seasons and the available produce, but we ordered a delightful Cherry Fattoush salad, savory Duck Confit with Kimchi Slaw & Potato Croquettes, and Maui Ginger Braised Pork Belly with Fried Rice, Local Hen Egg, and Fermented Mung Beans. Unique combinations for sure, but the flavours pair together perfectly. Duck confit with house-made kimchi? I kid you not, it made us wonder why we’ve never had anything like it before because it felt like they belonged together. The zesty freshness of the kimchi was a perfect compliment to the buttery-soft duck. And the peach hot sauce paired with the potato croquette? Let’s just say you’ll be happy to know the peach sauce is available for purchase. I could go on and on, but the most helpful thing I can say is that Bogners is well worth trying, you will not be disappointed.

Overall food was good - have visited 3 times, first 2 fantastic - But the last experience was let down by ribs which were lukewarm and when mentioned our waiter did remove and heat, but it was done begrudgingly without much apology. Waiter should be annoyed with the kitchen, not us. Ribs not tender, also still had membrane attached on the bottom side of the ribs, very frustrating to eat with. Should have been removed. On a plus side, the sauce on the ribs tasted great. Aside from the above, rest of the meals were delicious, great flavors, with beautiful presentation, and we ended up having a great evening. Our waiter also seemed more relaxed by the end. So overall, 4 stars. Won't mark less due to the fantastic other 2 times we have been here. Update 9 June 2019 Surprised by the spiteful reply from owner on this review. Thought this was a very fair review covering both good and bad, and 4/5 stars is more than decent. Some businesses appreciate feedback, so here we are. Don't know why the owner mentioned Groupon rather than address our feedback; the offer expired, so we just used the value paid, towards the meal, which never expires.

Such a beautiful restaurant inside of an older home, vegetable and herb garden outside is the source and inspiration of the dishes. Quite literally created from farm/garden to table! Wine pairings seemed minimal for the location but perhaps this is due to the true local nature and vibe of this restaurant! An absolute treat to eat here and an absolute gem of a location!

Bogners offers a consistently amazing and ever changing menu with refreshing options, and great value. Their $35 dollar menu is sure to include something to please everyone in your party, and I can't think of another place in town that will provide you with a house made appetizer, entree and dessert of such high standards and quality for the price. You couldn't get a 3 course meal at denny's for the price they offer. Darin is a fantastic chef and seems to source a lot of their ingredients locally, sometimes as locally as their garden when the seasons will allow it. Between the fantastic service, warm and homelike atmosphere, and value you'd be doing yourself a favour to visit Bogners often and enjoy their ever evolving menu.

Going out should not take four hours. Mind you it wasn't busy, and this is on a Saturday night. It took 20 minutes to get water on the table, and we did not have any food until 2 hours later. We were rarely tended to by the waitress and the food was mediocre at best. The steak was overcooked when asked for medium rare, lobster was rubbery, beans were uncooked, and the salad was soggy. This is the last time we will ever visit.

I was there for a charity event that ran from 5:30 to 6:30. 2 hostesses kept us well supplied with some nice appetizers. My only issue is that at the end of the meeting, a number of us wanted to stay and have dinner but we're told there was no room.

Pros: The chef did care about our happiness and offered us a free whisky and rhubarb syrup. Chicken was indeed tender and done right. Cons: Sadly, we were not impressed by most of the food. Ribs were dry. Cherry shortcake was not sweetened (shortbread and cream). Other dishes felt plain and lacking quality. Sparkling water needed to be more carbonated and chilled.

What a great meal!???? This is a very European style restaurant - it has only set menus to choose from, something that is not as familiar to us north Americans. Tonight there were two choices, we opted for the five course fixed option with wine pairings. It was 45$ per person with 25$ each for the wines. Darin Paterson (chef/owner) has really embraced the farm to table and eat local concepts. He has raised garden beds all around the restaurant from which he sources most of the produce served in his establishment. For the starter we had a beetroot hummus with goat cheese and freshly fried tortilla chips, second was a prawn and house made cubed and fried chorizo sausage with fried green tomatoes and a zucchini remoulade. The hummus was silky, salty and slightly sweet - a healthy dish that tasted so decadent. The tomato/shrimp/chorizo offering was smoky, creamy and juicy - so good! Next was bitter garden greens with feta cheese and a wine reduction. There were house made rye crackers that were light, airy - reminiscent of a tuille. The main was a Greek spiced and braised boneless lamb shank, served with wilted greens and house made mustard and potatoes 2 ways- roasted and soft and unctuous, and thin crisply fried little 'waffle' chips. We practically arm wrestled each other for them! For dessert they actually gave us 3 choices, and although warm flourless chocolate cake sounded great, we both opted for one of the two fritters. Mine were ricotta fritters with roasted plums and vanilla bean ice cream, my husband had the apple fritters with cinnamon and the same ice cream - the wine pairing was a beautifully smooth Merlot/malbec - which you wouldn't think would work...but it was fabulous! The fritters were light, airy and slightly chewy in the middle - again - perfect! An americano coffee for hubby and a decaf cappuccino for me and we sat back and basked in the glow that comes from having a perfectly beautiful meal. ???? The room is really nice too - it's in an old heritage house, lots of dark polished wood, soft lighting and candles. Our server was excellent - attentive, friendly and welcoming. The meal, wine pairings and coffees totalled 160$ after tax and before tip - an unbelievable price for what we had...highly recommended ????
